4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

From disowned to daughter to “I do?"

Freelance photographers Liz Foster and Ryan Callahan are finally making plans for their future. And what better time to get married than during the festive holiday season that brought them together? If only Liz’s parents weren’t standing in the way of a picture-perfect wedding.

Spurred on by the ghosts of Christmases past, Dan Foster has already written Liz out of his will, so even attending the wedding—let alone walking his daughter down the aisle—is out of the question.

However, this is the season for miracles and Ryan will do anything to make his bride smile. What will it take to bring this family back together in time for the wedding?

If you like Christmas weddings, family reunions, and happily-ever-afters, then you’ll love this next chapter in The Wardrobe series by Candee Fick. Pick up Picture Perfect Christmas and start celebrating the season today.

(NOTE: This book is a follow-up to Focus On Love and is best understood if read in that order.)

I 💯% absolutely loved this book, even though Liz and Ryan’s beautiful story really hit me hard, emotionally. Having been disowned by my father and facing the possibility of not having either of my parents at my wedding was heartbreaking, so I could relate to Liz’s feelings of abandonment and longing. Fortunately for Liz and myself, our fathers had a change of heart, fences mended, and our families reunited. I loved the simple examples of how God loves us and answers our prayers was woven into the story. Also, the lesson on forgiveness, though not an easy thing to do, reiterated how worthwhile it is to forgive. I definitely want to read more of Ms. Fick’s books.

I'm so glad Liz and Ryan were able to tie up all their loose ends. I loved Focus On Love where we originally met this pair, but there was a hint of sadness over Liz's estrangement from her father that cast a shadow on their happiness. Thankfully, A Picture Perfect Christmas took care of that.

Holidays are hectic to begin with, but when planning a post-Christmas wedding as well? Needless to say, Liz had her hands full. The love ignited in Focus on Love only deepens between Liz and Ryan as they prepare for their wedding vows. As Ryan takes to heart the command in Ephesians to love his wife as himself, he orchestrates a dream come true for his bride.

No spoilers here, only a promise the end of this love story will warm even the frosty-est of hearts.

This story leads up to Ryan and Liz's wedding. The interaction between them is so well written. The story has a joyful ending to the beginning of their lives.

This was the perfect addition to the wardrobe book series and a great continuation of Ryan and Liz’s story. I really enjoyed the entire premise. I love redemption stories, because in a cynical world such as this, these stories really do bring hope to people who might be experiencing those kinds of situations. I really enjoyed the characters of course (Loved Focus on Love so much) and it was fun to watch their relationship deepen. I thought the prologue of a series of letters explaining a 9 ish month gap was clever and well done! Overall, a very cute, romantic, Christmasy, redemption story.

Kudos to Candee Fick for listening to her readers when they asked her to tie up the loose ends from Focus on Love. This short and sweet novella answers the questions, "What happened next?" and "Did Liz ever reconcile with her family?" Be sure to read Focus on Love first, since this story is not a stand-alone but assumes you know the background.

Ok, I admit it. I was one of those readers who finished Candee Fick’s Focus on Love and wanted more. Mostly because while Liz and Ryan get their happy ending, it’s not as quite as happy as I wanted it to be. There was still a HUGE unresolved issue at the end of that book.

And if you missed the note in the book description, you will most definitely get more out of A Picture Perfect Christmas if you’ve read Focus first! There’s quite a bit of backstory you’ll want.

Liz and Ryan’s wedding is planned for two days after Christmas and while Liz is communicating with her mother, her father is in the dark. Ryan knows he must do everything in his power to mend this rift in order for the wedding to be what Liz dreams it to be. And isn’t Christmas the season of miracles?

Fick gives readers what they asked for in this novella. I consider it a gift family, friends, and healing wrapped up in a pretty Christmas novella package and it was a joy to spend time with Ryan and Liz for a little longer as their journey to husband and wife draws closer.

I loved this story :) After reading Focus on Love, it was fun to see Liz and Ryan's story continue to their wedding and happy ending. This is not only a romance but a story about forgiveness, and how Liz, with the help of her loving fiancé, being able to heal the broken relationship with her father. This inspirational story truly shows how God can work miracles in our lives in the most unexpected ways. A must read holiday story.

I was gifted a free copy of this book from the author, but did not promise to write a review in exchange. These are my own opinions of the story.
