A Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestseller.

From USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke comes a witty romance about first love and second chances.

After being burned by her dream job in New York City, sports journalist Neely Kimber suddenly finds herself jobless and paying a long-overdue visit to her hometown in Tennessee. Her plan? Relax, reset, and head back up the corporate ladder. There’s just one unexpected step. Neely’s back in Dogwood Lane for barely a day when she sees the man she ran from nine years ago: the bad boy next door who was her first kiss, her first love, and her first heartbreak.

Devoted single dad Dane Madden knows he hurt Neely in the worst way. He’s got a lot to make up for. And as passionate as their reconnection is, it’s a lot to hope for. Having her back in his arms feels so right. But falling in love all over again with a woman who wants to live a world away is bound to go so wrong.

What’s it going to take for Neely to give him - and Dogwood Lane - just one more chance?

Such an amazing book!!!
Some of the many reasons to read Tumble by Author Adriana Locke: ~Because sometimes the most important things in life are the simplest ones. ~Because wide open views, grass, trees and sunsets equal happiness and tranquility. ~Because fresh manure smells better than the city smells. ~Because sometimes a girl just needs her mom. ~Because sometimes you just need to let sleeping dogs lie. ~Because fried pickles...and they are best shared while drinking beer or Rocket Razzles. ~Because a sassy, sweet little girl will steal your heart! ~Because green eyes...swoon ~Because good guys don’t have to finish last. ~Because small town feels more like home!

There’s nothing I love more than a second-chance romance, but a single dad and an adorable, precocious kid are the icing on the cake. However, I should warn you, this one is deceptively evocative. You’ll be reading along, thinking it’s all smooth sailing with calm waters and sunshine, and then BOOM. With a simple line or two this author delivers a shot to your heart and all of the emotions tumble out.

Neely and Dane have quite the past. Childhood friends and high school sweethearts, Dane makes what he thinks is an altruistic choice, borne of love, and breaks up with Neely before she leaves to attend college out of state. He always hoped they would find their way back to each other, but then, in one night of drunken stupidity, Dane's actions put the final nail in the coffin of any reconciliation with Neely. Now, Neely is taking a break from her big city life and back home in Tennessee and, as luck would have it, the first person she runs into is Dane. Although Neely is a kind and generous person, when all the old feelings of both love and devastation rise to the surface, how can she ever forgive Dane for breaking her heart?

Tumble is my first book by Ms. Locke, and with it, she has effortlessly secured herself a spot on my list of must-read authors. Circumstances prevented me from reading straight through, and every time, I was annoyed and impatient for life to get out of my way so I could return to Dane and Neely. Their story captivated me from page one and these beautifully flawed but innately good characters captured my heart immediately. Then, before I knew what had even happened, this couple absolutely broke my heart! But I held fast on the journey, through their past heartache, their present challenges and their most touching, poignant moments until finally, their forever was secured.

Dane and Neely definitely own a permanent piece of my heart after reading their story. Dane is everything we love to see in a small-town hero, but the way he loves, protects and banters with his daughter had me falling for him all over again. Neely is genuine, caring and giving, while also career minded and driven, and everyone loves her. Although I usually lose patience with a character who seems to be shooting her relationship in the foot, I felt every bit of Neely's struggle, and it all made perfect sense to me. I never stopped pulling for her and Dane to find their happily ever after.

I loved everything about this book! From the author's gift of crafting a story and the flawless editing to the charming small town that came vividly alive, this book was such a pleasure to read. The secondary characters are just as complex, colorful and endearing as the main characters, and little Mia and her friends stole the show more than once. With undeniable chemistry and laugh-out-loud moments, the perfect placement of these elements packed just as much of a punch as the emotional component. A little silly, a lot sweet, humorous, poignant and heartfelt, this is one you absolutely don’t want to miss!

I enjoyed this second-chance romance. What could have made it better were a few more scenes from the MMC point of view, and also a little more backstory about the history of the MMC and FMC. Felt like something was missing without more backstory there.

Absolutely sweet, heartbreaking at points, but sweetness throughout!!

Adriana Locke, thank you for writing books with little to no language! Especially, keeping gd out of your stories. I personally love how you intertwine GOD into your books and keep it pretty sweet. Have read a lot of your series and enjoying each one. Also, amazed how many different stories you can write!!

I was very much invested in this book from the beginning. I was talking to my Kindle like the characters could really hear me and getting so upset. I really enjoyed this book and it had me crying which is an automatic five stars for me. If a book can move me to tears--the person that doesn't cry about much--then it's a good book. I liked Neely from the start. Anyone who'd up and quit their job because they were wrong, is a person I will root for. That takes a lot of courage and it's easier to just sit at the job where you've wronged instead of risking it all and saying something or quitting. She was quite driven and knew what she wanted. She came up with a plan as a kid and she did everything to make it come true. Even after dealing with heartbreak she should never have had to deal with, she made something of herself. I liked her but her stubbornness is what had me very frustrated and talking to my kindle. I wanted her to see that the plans you make for your life are all good and well but you also have to be flexible and sometimes things come that change those plans. I had to learn that and I've gotten better at it as I've gotten older.

Dane was a male lead that I liked a lot. I am a sucker for a single dad especially one doting and spoiling his little girl. I enjoyed his interactions with Mia so much and I loved seeing him with his brother and best friend. It was hard to learn of what he did to heart Neely so much but I had to accept that he was a kid and he got Mia out of it and she's the best so I forgave him for his indiscretion. I enjoyed Grace, Matthew, Haley, Penn, Gary, Aeriel, and Neely's mom. I also absolutely loved Dogwood Lane. It reminded me of summers in Lousiana and Georgia and did make me long for home a lot. But I do love reading books set in the south. It's always so easy for me to picture exactly what's going on because I've had those experiences.

This was my first book by Adriana Locke but it will not be my last! I can't wait to read Tangle and then I'll have to check out the other books by Adriana Locke that are already in my library!

This was my first time reading a book by this author. Overall, the story was good. It is definitely predictable, but was still enjoyable to read. The narrators were fabulous! (I especially love the male's voice.) They both "fit" the characters' voices well.

For those who want to know, there are some cusswords throughout the book, but it wasn't excessive to me. The book also has some vulgar language, so if that bothers you, skip this one. There is also an explicit scene, but you can skip a few pages if you don't want to read it.

    A new-to-me author (I think I was living in a cave…)

The story is great! Second chance romance after betrayal is one of my faves.
Every character was amazing in the series. I liked the kid and the receptionist listening to Dane pouring his heart out was *chef’s kiss*.

    I super liked it!

    No one is perfect.

Some mistakes we can forgive but can w forget?

Life is to short for anger and not love.

Adriana, you have done a fantastic job with this new series.

Some people will hate, a lot of people will love, forgive & forget is hard but isn’t impossible, life is so full of beautiful things.

I’m writing this piece of a review from a hospital bed full of health issues, waiting for surgery this afternoon and I can see how people can be passionate with words, sometimes mistakes happen, and that's ok to forgive if you love that person.

Dane & Neely have so much to go through and rediscover themselves, has been a long time for them, but the true feelings still there, healthy, pulsing, the chemistry is strong, they need to finish their love story.

I swooned in this book, real problems, and fell in love for them.

I can’t wait to read the next book.

I was hoping for her to find someone else or even make him give something away for her, but he continues the life the way he wanted while she changes her all life in order to fit at his. the romantic part is good, but i was extremely disappointed with the main characters.
