Benson Bayou Beauregard is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, and the grandson of the Sergeant at Arms for the Dixie Wardens MC. He’s a mountain of a man and the warden of a prison, and there’s only one thing that can scare him—being told that he’s the father of a three-year-old little girl.

A three-year-old little girl that has no clue who he is. Hell, he only finds out about the little cherub when a woman from child protective services comes by and rocks his world before leaving the girl in his shocked arms.

Every single thing he thinks he knows goes up in a cloud of smoke.

To make matters worse, the woman that he’s been trying to convince to give him a chance takes one look at the little girl and tells him that he’s just not in the right place to handle both of them.

But Bayou was never one to back down from a challenge.

He can handle a three-year-old girl that acts exactly like him, and he can more than take on the fiery red-head that sets flame to his blood while he’s at it.

I loved reading about a non neurotypical hero and the heroine that just gets him. There was something interesting about the Bear Bottom MC President right from the start of the series and it was great to get to know him better in his own book.

Though the story doesn’t touch much on the dynamics of the MC and his role as Pres, it showed us his heart and a little of his mind. Bayou’s definitely unique and interesting. Phoebe, or Fancy as Bayou called her, was an awesome heroine. She was open and warm yet tempered with strength. She stood up for what she felt was right. The two together had great chemistry and felt natural.

The plot was interesting, though I thought more would come from one of the secondary character’s meddling. The pacing was good. The writing was generally solid, the prose staying true to LLV’s style. LLV has a distinct “voice” in how she writes and I’ve really grown to appreciate her unique brand of humor. She’s creative and has brought us many characters to enjoy, Bayou and Fancy not exempted. I honestly don’t know how she can get so many books out so fast! She’s a machine.

Looking forward to the next story.

So cute!

I really liked this one. Amazing chemistry between the two MCs and the plot was fun to read.
What can I say, I love a story with an MC who has a kid.

This author is usually really good at MCs. True, she wrote so many and not all of them were amazing, but the great writing style was there, no matter how much I liked (or didn't like) the book as a whole.

So yes, this one is definitely worth reading. It's a standalone, so no real need to read the whole series to understand, but it's fun to have a background story.

Definitely worth a try, especially if you like MC reads.

4 / 3.75 'You're Not Broken. You're Perfect.' Stars

Oh my Lord, Lani Lynn Vale sure knows how to surprise us that's for sure! One Chance, Fancy was not what I was expecting, but still she made me fall in love with Bayou and Phoebe, just the same!

I have to say that for the very first time in a very long while I'm struggling and debating between these two close ratings, that's how much this book threw me off, lol.

Phoebe didn’t want me.
There was no doubt in my mind about that.
Nobody wanted the fucked-up ones, and I was about as fucked up as they came.

Bayou, oh Bayou, he completely made me fall for him and his self consciousness. Suffering from Asperger's Syndrome, his whole life has been a constant battle, specially his childhood and early adulthood, but thanks to meeting a fifteen year old Phoebe and he showing him he was worth it, his focus shifted and he managed to make a place for himself, and lessen/control his idiosyncrasies.

I’m broken.”
“You’re not broken,” I said. “You’re perfect.

My heart broke for him, in both those meetings, and so did Phoebe's. They made such an impact on each other's future they never forgot those two chance meetings.

I loved to see and witness these encounters, and they sure did the build up for both characters, but I was left so confused because

That being said, that was the only reason why I couldn't get past the flabbergasted reaction to finding out that about Bayou, but the man - for someone who felt so inadequate -  sure knew how to be the swoon worthiest of male characters. If not for my issues with the inconsistency of the setting/character, I would have definitely  given One Chance, Fancy, the five stars. Yep, he was THAT amazing!

"You’re like that bird in the sky that he’s so captivated by that he wants nothing more than to reach out and keep you.”

The way Bayou basically worshipped Phoebe from the moment they got together, and he saw she wanted him just as much as he wanted her, it was IRRESISTIBLE! OMG, he was just so darn amazing, and their relationship... wow, let's just say, full steam head!!!

And all the secondary characters - ok, except crazy Brielle, that gave just enough OW drama to the story, that there was no need for other 'villain' - were just brilliant. I loved to see the past couples and future leading men, but specially SAM!!! This man just keeps getting better and better, and no one can beat him as DAD, and the way he loves and supports his little girls (not so little anyone). I can't wait to see him again, specially with his last one Piper... ;)

Ms. Vale sure knows how to keep us hooked to the story from start to finish, and leave us feeling happy and excited for the couples she presents, Bayou and his Fancy, just proved that once again. Already beyond anxious for Zee and Jubilee's story, I'll bet it's doing to be quite a ride!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Bayou & Phoebes book, meeting Bayou when 15 at club party and standing up for him and talking to him the same happens again a year later but his dad,who is nasty makes bayou feel bad and he leaves for the army.
After years in the army and Phoebe becoming a nurse, his cousin is married to her sister they can't avoid each other, bayou is the warden at the prison which Phoebe gets a job as a nurse there, things start to finally get hot between them.
Until Shiloh ( Phoebes aunt & social worker) turns up with a 3yr old girl who is Bayou's daughter.
Dealing with constant fights amongst the prisoners & dealing with a child and his ex plus his very jealous sister, can they survive?

Bayou and Phoebe's book.
My issue with this book is how did he manage to knock up his swanky baby mama if he can't stand the touch of another (has Aspergers),and why was he not gloved up!!
If not for this ,this would have been a five star read for sure.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads
=======================

The story was ok, but the author made a big deal about Brie and nothing came of it. Her behavior was bizarre and obsessive and out of nowhere she calmed down and accepted everything. And Brie's weird relationship with the hero's father, I found it too strange and wanted explanation.
A virgin heroine and an experienced hero, as always in the author's stories. Their relationship was sweet.
As always many loose ends.
Villain causing trouble and also without explanation her connections.

Lani Lynn Vale starts the new year off with a BANG with ONE CHANCE FANCY!!!! This book is one of my favorite LLV books, it has love, emotional ups and downs, laughs and the right amount of drama.

Bayou and Phoebe have both grown up around MCs which meant they occasionally saw each other throughout their childhoods. Phoebe felt an instant connection with Bayou when she was fifteen, Bayou was older than her but he felt it also and never forgot about her.

Years later Bayou and Phoebe end up living in the same small town and find they can’t get each other off their minds and cannot deny their chemistry or connection. Bayou tries to fight it because he feels he isn’t the man Phoebe needs, he doesn’t think he has the capacity to feel love due to his Asperger’s. Phoebe takes the time and has the patience to show Bayou that he can feel and that he is worthy. Things are going good then Bayou gets a surprise he never expected in the form of an adorable three year old who acts a lot like him.

I could not put this book down at all. Watching Bayou open up and blossom because of Phoebe, then watching him with his daughter is a beautiful journey, there are some sad times but they do not overshadow the beautiful love that is Bayou and Phoebe.

I typically say LLV books can be read as standalone books but because of the incredible dynamics of the entire cast of her Bear Bottom MC series I strongly suggest this series be read in order of release because this world is so amazingly funny, sweet, emotional and intense. If you have not read any of Lani’s books you could start with the Bear Bottom MC series and then go back and start at the beginning of her backlist. Be warned Lani Lynn Vale’s books are like chips you can’t stop at just one!

"Who falls in love with a person in just a few hours, and stays in love with him for years? I did."

I fell hard for Bayou after getting to know him better in Once Chance, Fancy. Even he will admit that he's socially awkward and hard to get close to. But, that was not the case for her. While others might talk about him like he wasn't even there, she saw him. Too bad she was only 14 years old and couldn't do anything about it.

I really enjoyed how the author showed me the first meeting between the characters when they were so young. She put the idea in my head and that only made the buildup more intense as I waited for all the stars to align when they got older. I really really really want to talk to you about her, but since the author chose not to mention her name my lips are sealed. Though I can tell you I adore her, and her family. She's got sass and smarts and is not intimidated by the big, burly, bossy badass, Bayou. He's grown up in all the best ways, "He was easy on the eyes, and hard to look away from. Formidable and intimidating, he was a presence in a room that you couldn't help being drawn to." Hello? Have you seen that cover? #CoverLust is an understatement!

As I've come to appreciate, the author never fails to focus on a topic that increases my awareness and pulls my heartstrings. I was totally invested in this gripping, beautifully written story. Even though there were some painful situations, there was also plenty of comic relief. The witty banter between characters is something that's never missing in a Lani Lynn Vale book. And don't get me started on the hilarious chapter headings that make me giggle throughout.

If bedbugs are found on beds, who the hell came up with the name 'cockroach'? - Things that go through Bayou's mind."

Benson Bayou Beauregard is the President of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. Bayou knows he is different, he has learned in his life to get past what he sees as a disability and become a confident man. He doesn't generally like a lot of people but there is one woman who he cant forget, Phoebe. Bayou met Phoebe when she was fifteen and she treated him like he was normal, he has not forgotten her and when she pops up back in his life, he watches her from afar. That is until she applies for a job at the prison he overseas. Bayou can't resist Phoebe and is ready to make his move but does Phoebe feel the same way?

Loved this. I liked that Bayou is unique in character and the story had several surprises I did not see coming. Phoebe is wonderful and absolutely love Bayou. Wonderful story that I plan to reread again.

Fancy/Phoebe - Benson/Bayou

Let's start off by saying that this is one of my favorite authors and so we have come to anticipate each and every release she puts out.We are really loving her current Bear Bottom Series and its characters and I have to say this couple made it to the top of my favorite paired characters.

We really enjoyed this stories plot as it was something new and different and usual from what we are used to reading so this was a nice refreshing change at seeing someone who lives with challenges daily manage to cope and carve out a life for themselves regardless of those challenges.I love a story like this when the main characters have some what of a past together where they felt a connection and some sort of mutual bond between them and no matter what happened in the years to come would always have a place in other thoughts.

In each story I try to single out a favorite character but, this time around its to hard to pick just one as I really loved both of the main characters equally.

Phoebe/Fancy- I found her to be smart, intriguing, brave, sweet, kind, independent, loyal but, overall one of those women who has the complicity to love with ones whole heart and shares a special affinity with animals.

Benson/Bayou - I loved him from the onset of the story as you could not help but, be drawn to his character. We loved how Bayou challenged himself time and time again of how he overcame those obstacles he needed to get to where he wanted to be.My heart went out to him time and time again as the man believed himself broken but, everything but.

The romance between Fancy & Bayou's was super sweet. They were perfect for one another as well as being kindred spirits.I think I love that they had so much in common even if Bayou didn't even realize at first.

Overall we loved the story as it was heart felt and sweet and one of those stories that made you feel good and made you smile time and time again throughout the story.

Bayou made me fall for him myself right from the onset of the story the man was sex on a stick for sure ! lol

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is such a great Series and todays review is about Hoax’s cousin Bayou and Pru’s sister Phoebe. This is starts in such a cute way. Phoebe age 15 meets Benson while hiding in the shadows. Phoebe hates the big club function and she is not used to meet anyone else there. Every time there is a club function Phoebe looks for Benson. When he joins the Army Phoebe keeps track of his life, never forgetting the Boy she felt she knew in the shadows.
Finally, Phoebe has finished her nursing degree and is a qualified as a nurse and goes for a job at the prison. To her surprise gets interviewed by Bayou the Warden who is as  young man Phoebe always called Benson. Bayou is an accomplished and confidant man, but Phoebe can’t help herself and is still so attracted to him.
I have to say this one of my favourite couples in the series, watching them get together is a real treat. Bayou was a wonderful man but can’t believe Fancy his nickname Phoebe would give him a chance not realising how Phoebe feels about him.
As we know that the road to true love is paved, with a few psychotic A… holes wanting to stop love getting a happy ending. This has everything Love, Sex, drama, cute animals sweet children. This is a must read, as the whole series has been. I loved reading about Bayou and Phoebe it was a delight. The epilogue was a real treat.

The only thing that bothered my was the "baby-mama". She's supposed to be crazy and addicted. Abused her kids over and over again. But the CPS didn't or couldn't do anything. Then she gets this grand scheme of bribing a doctor in a prison and making trouble. How? And where did the money come from? Why did she have connections? It was all just too crazy. And of course this "crazy" and "mean" woman is the mother of heroe's (secret) baby. It couldn't have been with a decent woman. And what about protection? Hmm? Did he get himself tested after having sex with her? It was never mentioned.

Brielle was another character that wasn't to my liking. She has a mild form of shizophrenia. Acts out, is jealous. Stalking the previous heroine and being mean to this one. But in the end all is well, she loves the kids and is all right again. All her crazy and stalking behaviour in the last 2-3 books (a lot) was just explained away in a sentence!!

And why, oh why does LLV have to portray the OW as bad and mean and crazy and drug addicts? It's so much drama, and all on the back of female characters. Where is the real drama?

And lastly, why does he have sex with OW? When he doesn't trust them with his body and is uncomfortable with any form of physical contact? He knew from the start that the Heroine was the one. He always thought about her, and wanted her. But did he do something for it? No. Even when her sister moved next to him and they saw each other all the time (1 year). And even when they were working together (6 months). I mean why wait? And what changed?

A bit disappointed because Benson is a great Hero and lovabla and badass and so cute with his daughter. I guess you just can't have it all.

Bayou is the best…

Well, all the Bear Bottom Guardians are best in their own ways, I know, but Bayou is my new (current) favourite! He’s had to overcome a lot and has achieved so much. Phoebe was an early champion of his so when they cross paths again years later it seemed that fate thought so too. Bayou was reluctant, to say the least, but Phoebe had heart and persistence on her side as she patiently waited for her chance to push for more…

This author’s stories are all about family and adversity, passion and pain but also hope. Phoebe knew Bayou deserved everything good and she was hoping she could be that for him. Of course there were obstacles – oh so many obstacles – but getting through them is half the battle, and the fun! A beautiful little girl brings out the protective bear in both of them and how it all pans out is a riveting page-turner!

The ending had me laughing and, okay, just a wee bit misty. This authors knows how to pull out strong emotions in her characters as well as me!

One Chance Fancy was a phenomenal read in the Bear Bottom Guardian MC Series. I loved Phoebe and Bayou. Lani Lynn Vale’s writing and characters are so unique and one of a kind. They are real characters with their quirks and flaws but this makes them real and relatable to me. I LOVE that she wrote a hero on the spectrum. Phoebe initially met Bayou at 15 and she never forgot him. She has loved him from afar all these years. Fast forward 10 years to present day and he is back in her life again. Bayou is more self assured, more confident and extremely sexy. He has a massive heart and loves fiercely. The connection between these two is all heat, fire and passion. I couldn’t get enough. 5 STARS.

Glad to read about characters from Freebirds series. H and h's encounter made me feel like there would be a lot of push each other away; fortunately, they got together pretty soon.

The only thing annoyed me was H's adopted sister….Not sure why creat such unnecessary role.

I'd like to read Piper' s story.

This makes my heart happy

I was dying for Beyou's story after the sneak peaks of him in My Bad. We had small teasers with a little insight into his personality and what was going on with him which only fed my curiosity more.
This definitely surpassed any expectations.
Benson aka Beyou melted me. His story touches a special place in my heart because I have family members with Aspergers who really struggled before and after diagnosis. The mistake ignorant people make is thinking that because they are different there's something wrong with them .. THERE IS NOT. We all have feelings and we all bleed red. Some of us are just quirky.

A chance meeting turned into something neither one of them would ever forget.

Phoebe may seem like the quiet Mackenzie girl but looks can be deceiving . That girl is a funky mix of her daddy and momma. A curious little thing by nature it didn't surprise reading the antics she got up to as a child! Some would say she has a death wish.

Beyou had the odds stacked against him because he was forever told there was something wrong with him. So much so he believed himself to not be normal. It's sucks but only made him stronger in the end because he pushed himself to prove everyone different.

It all starts off in the cockpit of a helicopter. When phoebe as curious as ever buckles herself in the seat without realising she doesn't know how to get out. Benson saves her from that sticky situation and despite not being a Chatty Cathy finds himself wanting to know about the girl who stood up for him fiercely. Years went by after those two meetings but not once did they forget about eachother. Fate had some real interesting plans in store for their future.

Everything about this story just felt right. The years apart helped them grow individually and that slow burn romance only fed fuel to an already burning chemistry between them. The connection was instantaneous but they had a lot of growing to do. Phoebe never seen anything wrong with her Benson there was only acceptance and of course curiosity for the man who seemed untouchable. Benson was like a moth to the flame with phoebe. She made him feel at peace, there was quiet with her around and for him that was unheard of.

They balance eachother, they just got it. Their slow unraveling relationship wasn't perfect. There was moments of insecurity, times of stress and unwanted background noise but for the better part of it they just had their shit locked down. Secure in who they were and what they wanted it was easy to feel the love between despite the years apart, even if it took them a minute to confirm it themselves.

As always with Lani's stories she takes you on a journey. Real life topics. Circumstances that you as a reader can relate to and characters that are easy to love. The story is seamless with solid depth touching on subjects that affect many. Not only fiction but real life things that bring meaning to the story. The characters are skilfully written with so much personality you can't help but feel like their real. I loved its hard!. Also in typical Lani fashion all seriousness aside she brings you endless amounts of banter and bickering, hilariously outrageous Shenanigans and dysfunctional relationships that will have you in uproar. It has it all.

Also Brielle? That ending got me wondering if she'll get her HEA... If we get to hear more from her because I'm thinking there is more to her than meets the eye.

I cannot wait Ezekiel and Jubilee's story. I can't wait for what 2019 brings!.

First I have to say that which each book I read in this series I fall deeper and deeper in love with these guys. They are rough and tough and no holds bar but they have a heart underneath all that. Lani has crafted this world where I feel at home. I feel like they are my family and every time something happens to them I get anxious wondering what is going to happen next. So One Chance, Fancy had me swooning for Bayou and wanting him to finally get his HEA after everything he has suffered through. Dealing with his mental illness has not been easy for him but once he got a hold on it he was all set and became this wonderful man.

Bayou is the warden of the prison and the President of The Bear Bottom Guardians. He loves his job and he loves his club. He also is in love with Fancy and he is trying everything possible to get her and he almost has her until a situation comes up and she decides that Bayou needs to handle that before she will even get involved. I loved hoe Fancy stood up to Bayou and did not take any of his shenanigans. She called him out on his shiz and kept him on his feet but at the end of the day she loved him and is willing to give him a chance.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH INKSLINGER PR. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

This was by far the best book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series! I was completely transfixed with the story, and couldn't put it down!

Bayou was my favorite part of this book, hands down. The ways he had overcome his diagnosis and illness were inspiring to me for teaching my young autistic son. I loved how he realized that he needed Fancy/Phoebe in his life, long before it got turned upside down by events in the story. I also loved learning more about Phoebe's desire to work in the prison, and how she made it work. I loved watching the romance between Phoebe and Bayou blossom, and how they interacted with Phoebe's family. Unfortunately, Brielle was still as obnoxious as ever, and I would have liked to seen her get out of that with this story.

Overall, this was an amazing installment in the series, and I can't wait to read more!

Gah!! Lani Lynn Vale and her books have become an addiction that I can not sate. I loved Bayou from My Bad and could not wait for his story. I hoped that his heroine was Phoebe because of her obvious draw towards him but I could not have been happier to see their connection in this book. This story was sexy, emotional and just so real. I loved every word!

I absolutely love the Bear Bottom MC series. Each story is gritty, emotional yet so swoony. Bayou and Phoebe were just so darn delicious. He was so honest and blunt but you could see their chemistry and attraction from a mile away. I loved their story and their unwavering love and the way Phoebe was a staunch supporter and protector of her man. She was absolutely amazing and my favorite LLV heroine to date!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Didn’t care for it because they both had secret crushes but didn’t act on them. Let’s get passed that and you have him having one night stands meeting a crazy chick. When did he buy that engagement ring while deployed?? How much did she mean to him if he was with others. Plus why didn’t drug head mom want child support to pay for her addiction.

I have wanted Benson aka Bayou’s book since we were first introduced to him. We get his and Phoebe’s aka Fancy, book in One Chance, Fancy. I couldn’t put it down. From the beginning up until the very end I loved their relationship. I laughed, I swooned, my heart melted and I still want to shove Brielle off a cliff (if you have read this series then you know who she is), but most of all I fell in love with all that was Bayou.

I was impressed by how well Ms. Vale wrote about Bayou’s Asperger’s and didn’t make it a weakness for him, but something he overcomes to be the man he is. Too many people could have done it wrong but she did it right. His character is not only endearing, sweet, gruff, but also he shows that someone with Asperger’s can do anything when they put their mind to it. Phoebe, I loved how she never once treated Bayou differently, she noticed what made him different and continued to roll with the punches as if it didn’t matter, and for her it didn’t. Watching these two come together was a beautiful thing.

One Chance, Fancy has now become my favorite book in this series. I love being able to just allow the real world to melt away and be completely invested in a book and this was something I was easily able to do with One Chance, Fancy. If you haven’t read this series or the others by Lani Lynn Vale I beg you to do so, I think you will love them as much as I have.

I loved every minute. I laughed so hard at times and wanted to bitch slap a particular person at others. It was funny and sexy and heartwarming.

I loved how she dealt with the mental disorder (not sure if that's the right descriptor) that Bayou has and how he was able to find ways to cope. And I love the fact that he felt "normal" due to Phoebe.

And can I just say that the proposal was everything, and so was that epilogue.

4.5 Stars

I am just loving this series. Each book is better than the last. The author brings us some unique heroes and the women who fall for them.

Bayou has his own issues and demons to live with. He has come to peace with himself but still doesn't want to put himself out there for the girl who has always had his heart. Fancy and Bayou go way back. When Fancy/Pheobe takes a chance on him, the sparks fly. They have some things to sort out and then a child comes into the mix and things get even more interesting. But these two can handle it.

A little bit of suspense, a whole lot of loving and some nice banter throughout. Great story!

I love the author's writing. She brings us great romance stories. As I have said with each book all along, these aren't MC books. The characters know each other because of the MC they belong in, but all of the action takes place away from the club. No worries! Still a great read!

Bayou and Phoebe are my favorite couple of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. Their story was one that I just couldn't get enough of. I loved how they meet, and how it didn't matter that they didn't see each other for years, that Bayou still thought about her. Phoebe was the same way when it came to Bayou. The way that they were together showed that they had the perfect chemistry. And no just because they were written by the author to be together doesn't mean they the chemistry will be there. At least when the story is played out in my head. But, these two had the perfect chemistry. It was like Phoebe was created for Bayou. In fact their chemistry along with their story was the reason I found myself going right into a re-read once I was done the first time. And I can already see that this book is going to be one that I will be reading over and over again.

Almost perfect. Bayou and Phoebe are officially my most favorite couple and I really felt their love. I cried several times in this book.

So Bayou (former military, warden at a prison, has Aspergers) met Phoebe (nurse, twin to Pru and daughter of Sam & Cheyenne) when she was 15-years old. Phoebe fell in love with him then. He admitted she changed his life and he’s never forgotten about her. So he basically thinks that he’s not good enough for her because of his Aspergers, and he tries to hold her at arm’s length. Eventually he decides to claim her. They go through some trials & tribulations – though not nearly as ridiculous as in some of the other books.

When they finally get together as a couple, OMG it felt so good. JFC I cried so f*cking much during his proposal. Like a mofo baby!!! 😭 😭 😭 😭
Their love was one of the sweetest I’ve ever read, and definitely the sweetest out of all the other books by LLV that I’ve read.

Now onto my issues.

Minor things, why is it constantly raining there?! Every single time they step outside it starts raining. There was potty humor in this one, but it’s way tame compared to the other books.

First….. the Sex. So freaking frustrating. So we had to wait until 56% for them to finally have sex (though we def got filled up in the 2nd half of the book). I was miffed but still it seemed ok to wait that long based on the characters. But then that heifer kept saying, “we shouldn’t do this.” the entire f*cking time that he was trying to get her undressed!! SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH!!! First of all, you’ve wanted him since you were 15. YOU’VE WAITED LONG ENOUGH. Second…..WE’VE WAITED LONG ENOUGH!!! Then, I really needed him to acknowledge that she was a virgin and had saved herself for him. I felt like we were ripped off. He needed to understand the depth of her love. He obvi didn’t save himself for her. That’s a super freaking big deal!!!! Then her stupid sister interrupts by ringing the doorbell a hundred times. F*ck her for interrupting what should have been a tender moment between them. And when she tells him she’s been in love with him since she as 15, he doesn’t even acknowledge the statement. I get that with Aspergers he doesn’t communicate his emotions well, but still. I needed it.

The kid….. Personally, I HATE when there are pre-existing kids in books. I like for my MMC & FMC to only be for each other and the reminder that he had sex with someone else doesn’t put me in a happy place. It especially broke my heart because he doesn’t even like people touching him, yet he f*cked this evil woman in his past, while Phoebe was at home saving herself for him. Pre-kids and pre-marriages are two of my biggest gags. All of that said, I liked the kid in this book and was happy to see how she fit into their lives. I probably liked her more because she never talks. Baby talk in audiobooks is a serious trigger.

Brielle…… As with the last book, we don’t get a satisfactory end to that drama. At least I didn’t feel satisfied. She was still causing trouble right up until their wedding day. Then we skip forward to the epilogue, 6-years in the future, and suddenly she’s ok with everything. I needed someone to make her cry!!! Or at least work her into the main story as a positive. If she’s going to come around to the good side, then have her do something good in the book that proves she can love and respect B & P as a couple. I can’t just listen to two full book of her being an utter b*tch and then be like oh ok she’s nice now.

Overall, I really liked this book. I can’t even express that enough.

I absolutely loved this book. I fell hard for Benson Bayou Beauregard Bayou. He was not at all the man I expected based on previous encounters with him. I knew he had a milder form of Asperger syndrome based on Hoax's book. I would have never guessed that based on how he was portrayed in the beginning of the series, seeing as he is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. But I have a lot of respect for him after this book. He was super smart and overcame a lot of insecurities to become the man he was.

He met "Fancy" aka Phoebe when she was 15. She was the shy girl at an MC party with her head stuck in a Kindle. Benson was the young man who was really quiet, hiding in corners away from people. But he likes Phoebe right away, especially since they share a love of birds and even manages to mutter some words, which is not at all what you'd usually see him do around a female. Phoebe really liked Benson, but of course he was too old for her and is still too old for her a year later when they meet again. Phoebe doesn't hesitate to defend Benson when a few snotty females begin making fun of him. I knew at that point that they'd be together and that it would be a deep love. She made it clear that he was smart and worthy of being happy, despite what others thought and that ultimately changed his life.

Phoebe is Sam's daughter, Silas' granddaughter, so you know she'll be a tough one - I mean she works as a nurse in a prison, so she has to be tough to take on that job. She's a really interesting character. For example, she is a Falconer. That's not something you see every day, especially when we learn she has a pet hawk! I learned so much about birds in this book thanks to Bayou's infinite knowledge and Phoebe's interaction with her hawk. Even though she was a tough one, she had a really big heart for Bayou and eventually, his daughter, Isa.

It takes years before Phoebe and Bayou actually become a couple. I wish it had happened sooner and that they didn't spend a year dancing around one another before finally having that push needed to get together. They knew they had met their true love when they were very young, so I didn't understand the need to not pursue a relationship when it was inevitable. Once they do finally make that move though, that's it, the end. They move full force into a relationship and it's beautiful, even with all the headaches they'll suffer in pursuit of that happiness. You can't just help but love the way they are with one another and how they embrace Isa. And the sex, yeah, that was insanely hot!

My biggest complaint is that there is OW drama. That OW came into play before Phoebe & Benson eventually get together, so it's not cheating. I just wish he had saved himself for Phoebe, but I guess that's wishful thinking. It did result in the wonderful little girl, Isa, though, so I can't be too mad.

The ending is really funny and cute and I just loved it. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book and Bayou. He was just an awesome character and really made this book.
