the MCs broke up bcs of a misunderstanding. the h accused the H of something he didnt do, and she dumped him. instead of straightening things out; he just wallow in hurt, anger, and betrayal, then went on a date with another girl a week after. WTH?!?!?!
the h got mugged some time after the break up. she suffered a head/brain injury and lost her memory. i was here for the amnesia trope, and im VERY pleased that the story didnt have dual timelines or flashback chapters (reasons for my aversion to second chance romances).
the h’s newfound no-filter personality was the highlight of the book for me. the romance was cute and sweet with the H being (still kinda prickly seeing as he wasnt over the break up, but also) all protective over the h’s well being cuz her attacker hadnt been found.
the suspense was poorly done since it was predictable and anticlimactic, required suspension of disbelief on your part, and was pretty much crammed in the last chapter. there was just enough to get the story going which wasnt necessarily a bad thing.
“Love and life sure can be scary."
"...not loving as hard as you can…what a terrible waste that would be.”Told in Clementine's POV, Repeat is an absolutely stunning read. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Clementine and Ed rediscovering the love they had, the love they can have, and the love they lost. The plot is quite complex and the subject matter brought back a tidal wave of emotions. Who wouldn't want a second chance at something they lost?
“Stay with me, Ed.”Overall, Repeat is a fresh and unique contemporary romance with complex characters and a truly fascinating plot. It will appeal to readers who enjoy a second chance romance and of course who doesn't love a hot tattooed hero?
"At the heart, romance is about hope, and that's what keeps us going dear. The eternal quest to improve ourselves, our lives, our world."
