Funny story about this book. So, I'm laying in bed reading all the brilliance that Piper Rayne is throwing at me. My hubby comes to bed and asks his usual "how's your book" who's it by (like he knows any authors names lol) and all that fun stuff. Well this time he asks me "what's the title?". So, I tell him of course,not thinking twice. His reaction, y'all. Insert the crying laughing face here because seriously. You would have thought I told him I'm reading "How to plot you husband's slow and painful demise". Long story short, he now refers to himself as my baby daddy. And he thinks it's hilarious. Story Line: You know that episode of Friends were Joey finds out that condoms are only 93% effective? Well that fun little statistic is what lands us in Starlight once again for Bailey's book 3. Side note, no you do not need to read books 1 and 2 to understand what's going on. Basically our heroine Harley has a smoking hot night with one of the Bailey clan. 9 months later, beautiful Calista is born. Harley thinks she knows who the father is (no, not for skanky reasons) so she travels to this beautiful small town to find him. Except her perfectly laid out plans don't exactly pan out. This is a story about believing in yourself, believing in those you love and having faith that everything will be alright. Or in the case of these two, just saddle up and enjoy the ride. I loved everything about this couple. From page 1 to the very end, I was completely captivated by their story. It might be easy to judge a book by it's title (cough cough Mr Laundry) but this book was pure romance magic to read. I cannot wait to add the paperback to my shelf. Trust me y'all, it's THAT good. Interaction: It's going to be so hard to write this section without using both names! Ah! I'm going to try and at least que y'all in to the sparkly chemistry known as Bailey's #3. Harley is incredible. She's a strong, independent woman and no she did not seek out her "baby daddy" for money reasons. So take those judgey eyes and knock it off. But the other half of this story is about who the dad is. Don't worry your pretty little heads, you don't have to wait more than a chapter or two to find out who dad is, but because I refuse to give away spoilers, you're just going to have to figure out who that is all on your own. I will say he's totally on my book boyfriend top 10 list now. I mean, the laundry is good. But he's more than just a toe curler. He's sweet and caring and lays all his cards out in the best possibly way. Swoon. Laundry: If you have never read a Piper Rayne book before, here's a little hint when it comes to laundry. A lot of times, it's a slow burn. DO NOT JUDGE. I forbid you. Because even if you have to wait for the naughty stuff, IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. This hero, y'all. He's everything you would ever hope for. He's dirty, he's possessive, and he's so dang sweet you will add him to your top 10 book boyfriend lists too. Depth: With the story line of "birth of a baby daddy" and the fact that I'm being super evasive with who he is, there's bound to be some good meat to this story. The Bailey family is amazing, nosey, a bit over the top and the foundation for pretty much any story I would ever want to read based in a small town. They aren't perfect, yet their love for one another truly is. I need a G'ma D in my life like right now. She can come take my toddler off my hands and show him off to her friends any time she wants. I have a feeling she, along with the rest of the family will leave a lasting impression on my heart for many, many years to come.
