White Collar Brothers #1

Sexy Filthy Boss

Rate this book
He's the sexy alpha male in the corner office who goes through assistants faster than free donuts in the breakroom.

I'm the assistant who was chosen to cover for his last fire.

The owner of the company is clear--hook the biggest client in our firm's history and there's a partnership for him and a promotion for me. Stipulation--we do it together.

It doesn't take a tarot card-reading psychic to figure out where our story is headed... late nights, trips out of town, and more than a few awkward moments filled with sexual tension.

No worries though. I pride myself on my willpower. I can totally ignore his sexy grin, his rock-hard body and his dreamy brown eyes. I will not become the woman other women hate.

But it turns out that Enzo Mancini has a lot of layers and if I don't stop peeling, I'm going to lose everything, including my dignity.

Don't miss this NEW Steamy Enemies-to-Lovers Office Romance by a duo of USA Today Bestselling Authors!

4.5⭐ rounded up

Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, boss/assistant, secret office romance, misogynist boss, alphahole until he meets the h and then ooey gooey

Annie is working in an advertising firm, a male dominated profession, as an assistant. She's hoping to work her way up the ladder, but with a misogynist boss (not Enzo), it's hard for her to prove herself. Luckily she gets a chance when she's thrown into the roll of being Senior Executive Enzo's assistant and she can help him work on a big campaign.

Enzo is on track to become partner, but can't seem to keep an assistant to save his life, hence why he's considered the work alphahole. He's never had a relationship, let alone a date, but when Annie starts working with him it's game over for this bachelor and it's just what his Ma has been waiting for.

Yes, we can guess how their story will go six ways to Sunday dinner, but the journey there was great. They are both career focused, but as they spend more and more time together their attraction is undeniable. And just based on the cover and the title you know this one is going to be a steamy read and boy oh boy these two are scorching together.

I am not Italian, but I totally got the Italian family vibes. I really liked that family is everything to Enzo, he even tells his baby sister he loves her when they get off the phone. I enjoyed Annie's relationship with her father and sister, and her friendship with Josh and Mae too.

A lovely, filthy start to a new series. I'm looking forward to Carm's story next. I am so happy that he was involved in this book because I already feel like I know him.

This is the second book I read by Piper Rayne and I liked it a lot more than the first one I read.

It was an enjoyable workplace romance and I liked the characters, both main and side ones. Especially H's brothers were hilarious and I'm interested in reading their stories so I'll probably continue the series. I expected the H to be more of an @sshole based on the description in the first chapters and I was pretty disappointed that he ended up not being one, not gonna lie 🤭

A light and easy read that I had a good time reading it but it wasn't that special. 3 ⭐

R A T I N G: 3.5 stars to Sexy Filthy Boss ★ ★ ★

'Could we play rock, paper, scissors for it?” His arm falls off his face, and he props himself up on his elbows to give me the look of death. Like he legit wants me to fall to the floor and die in his presence.’

‘The man I thought was a grade-A a****** is turning into a grade-A piece of goodness.’

Aspiring ad executive, Annie Stewart is assigned to shift duties and work for the biggest dictator in the office, Lorenzo Mancini. He’s a high maintenance lord of the office, and Annie is soon to be pushed right into his professional vicinity when she’s assigned to work with him to secure Jacobson and Earl’s biggest client yet.

Which is when ‘Enzo’ realises that Annie is more than just a passing face in the office, she’s a woman with undercover talent and worth her merit in work. Why didn’t he notice it? That’s right, he’s too busy egotistically barreling through incompetent assistant after assistant in his own single-minded aim to secure a partner position at the agency he has given his best years to. For Mr. Mancini, this is a time of opening blind eyes and closing office doors.

First in the series and a first for me, ‘Sexy Filthy Boss’ by this romance-writing duo is a slow-simmering office rom-com. Light, lively and lovely with an underlying vulnerability that resonates. For the most part, Enzo and Annie’s story was a delightful one to read. Both career driven and career preoccupied, it was great to see them maintaining resistance but surreptitiously wanting to cave. I was after all keen to keep reading just to keep in time and line with the development. While I give this book points for everything that worked, not everything did for me, so it was both a likeable and an apprehensive affair.

At first, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like Enzo. After breezing through the mill of romance novels, I’ve wisely realised that not all alphas are capable of being redeemable. Not the case here, let me forewarn you. I was worried that he was a low-key misogynist, without the equal sight to see women as unprejudiced parallels in the workplace, and this feeling was spurred on by the scheme he and his brothers cooked up about their sister. Alongside this, there’s his misguided reception towards the assistants that came before Annie. These bits and pieces added up, leading me to think that he and I might gel as well as the incompatible sliding of oil and water.

Misogyny and female inequality are lightweight, simmering themes in this book, but you’ll be happy to know that Enzo is not the crime-worthy culprit. His blind behaviour however is very much bound to his character development and is brought to light when his eyes open to workplace inequality and the company’s non-female-friendly values, all because Annie allows his eye to see what they might not have seen before. Just as he surprised Annie at every turn, he did the same for me and I loved watching him morph from bossy bachelor to a more reachable man.

But Enzo wasn’t the only protagonist I worried about. Enter Annie. Early on, there is a scene where she’s given the stamp of being ‘easy’ to work with because she’s so agreeable. She is after all an assistant, one very good at her responsibilities. I was however hoping this wasn’t the well-placed foreshadowing of a woman without the zest and spine of a professional, working woman in this office rom com. What with my Enzo compass already malfunctioning, I was wary In thinking that Annie might be the doormat that dashing Enzo might just gladly wipe his larger boss-man feet on.

Again, my Annie compass is not to be trusted because I made another pre-emptive error in bookish judgment. Not a hard feat when many romance reads as of late have built a wall of intolerance and predictability. Not an easy wall to crash down either. Annie is actually portrayed as a person who would act accordingly in the position she’s in. She’s dedicated to her profession and worked for it. She’s in a learning curve phase of her professional career so her uncertainty was reasonable and reassuring. No. It wasn’t this at all. My issue with Annie was that she was rather flat as a character for me.

I like a slow-burn romance as much as every reader, but for me, the sequential flow and time frame was off-kilter. The second half of the book more directionless than the first and the widespread romance was lacking some stretch and development. There was chemistry but there was little emotional resonance/bonding to be shown between the main couple. If this is a rom-com that’s going to indulge a slow stride while being a 300+ page novel, I think it could deeply benefit from some firsthand fleshing. To offer more day-to-day details and descriptions because surprisingly, very little happened.

For the sake of world building, people building and reader intrigue, I prefer my reads with more stretch and story description; of people, places and context. Explore the characters, just as Enzo says he wants to ‘explore’ this thing with Annie, but never properly does. Even though Annie and Enzo are boyfriend/girlfriend and in a relationship, the portrayal didn’t quite come off that way. I think I wanted a bit more of everything. More fun, more joy, more romance, more story, more progression, and more from the supporting characters etc.

Still, I’m happy to read the few Piper/Rayne novels currently sitting unread on my tablet, so don’t think this is a one and final deployment! As my second from this author partnership, I definitely think this read came off better than my first (which did, unfortunately, warrant a steep 2 star from me). But we're heading upwards so promise might be playing for keeps! Consider it a hopeful spree to explore. This is a first in a standalone series of Mancini bachelors. Go grab your fill, but you might want to play a game of rock, paper, scissors to decide which Mancini is for you (read the book and the reference will glow with amusing clarity).

Potential content warning: Swearing sprinkled throughout and minimal bedroom scenes (most of them off-page).

This was a fun, sexy, quick, and steamy read. I was sucked in on the first page and the only time I put down this 340 page book was when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer and had to go to sleep. Did you notice that I said it was a quick read and it was 340 pages, that's because I was so engrossed with the story I had no idea how much time had passed and I was truly surprised when I saw the page count!

Enzo is what people perceive to be a manwhore but he just because hasn't found that someone special to spend lazy Sundays with until he starts working with Annie, and that's when things start changing for him. Enzo and Annie are great together. Neither one is looking for a relationship they are focusing all of their energy on their careers which is heading in the right direction and this next ad campaign can be the one that cinches their promotions, Enzo will make Partner in the agency and Annie will become a Junior Ad Exec instead of an assistant.

This was a fun start to the new series and great spin-off to The Blue Collar Brothers series. I highly recommend this to those who have enjoyed books by Piper Rayne before and if you haven't read any of their work this is the perfect time to start!

Happy Reading!!!

This was a book I got one day for free and figured it would just be a silly filler type book but to my surprise it was a decent book.

Annie is just an assistant waiting for her big break, while working for sweet Mr. Beardsman. Enzo Macini on the other hand is not known to be a nice guy and seems to go through assistants like he goes through underwear.

I liked the struggle these two went through trying to do the right thing and keep from caving to the sexual chemistry they clearly had for one another.

Enzo started out being a jerk but let me tell you he is everything you could ever hope for in the end.

I am pretty sure this is one of those times I should have paid more attention to the sign up before I fangirled over the fact it's a new Piper Rayne book and jumped in with my eyes closed. Because office romance is one of my least favourite tropes, so I started reading then went off to GoodReads to find out what I was reading.

Luckily for me I love Piper Rayne's writing and characters so I was able to suck it up until about the halfway point where I forgot I disliked office romance and was so invested in the characters. And the side characters. And the story.

Enzo was the perfect leading man for the job. I loved him. He had the whole cocky arsehole thing perfected. And thank God we had this in dual POV because I would have been as confused as Annie about what was going through his head if I had to judge it on his actions alone.

Annie was just as perfect. She knew what she wanted and was determined to work her way there without distractions. But man Enzo was one hell of an unavoidable distraction. And I am loving the brothers. I really can't wait to get to their books. Hopefully Annie and Enzo get plenty of chances to make them sweat too.

So much love for Sexy Filthy Boss by Piper Rayne.

I loved Enzo and Annie, watching them fall in love brought out all the feels. They're both smart, passionate, likable characters with great chemistry and shared a fun rapport.
I also loved how Annie didn't let Enzo's initial gruff and prior reputation stop her from seeing the real man behind the firm boss face.

From the first few pages I was hooked, I loved the storyline and I fell in love with the Mancini brothers.
These boys made me laugh and swoon and I truly connected with them.
Can't wait to read their stories and watch them wave goodbye to their bachelor days lol

Overall, Sexy Filthy Boss is a wonderful start to the White Collar Brothers series and I highly recommend it.

I'm in love with Piper Raye's storytelling, once again I'm left with a smile on my face and eagerly awaiting their next release!

This book was an exciting start to what looks to be a really fun series!

There’s nothing particularly original about this storyline; it’s the pretty standard Office Romance type of trope, yet I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It ticked all the boxes:

• Great writing;
• Fun characters;
• Excellent secondary characters;
and
• A good few belly laughs along the way.

I devoured this in one sitting last night, which I am paying for today – I need a coffee, like now.

Our “Sexy Filthy Boss”, Enzo is dreamy and his reluctant new Assistant, Annie, is his perfect counterpart. I loved their chemistry. I really enjoyed the interactions with Annie’s friends and Enzo’s family; they all have great potential for future books.

I also liked that the Author subtly addressed sexism in the workplace throughout this and that she had Enzo check his behaviour along the way. This was refreshing and wasn’t too over the top.

An easy four 'fun' stars from me.

Wow, talk about an exciting start to a new series. I feel like Piper Rayne are doing something new with these Mancini Brothers and I loved it. This book was a whole new level of good by these two.

Enzo might have been overly confident, a bit arrogant, and not very social, but he had a good heart. Annie just needed to come into his life and unlock that potential. Annie was pretty impossible not to like. She was smart, talented, driven but also really loyal to her friends and family. I loved the interactions between Enzo and his brothers. I even really liked when Annie had her moments chatting with the brothers as well. It has me very excited for the next book.

Ok. We have another situation where I’m kicking my own ass & patting myself on the shoulder all at the same time.

The ass kicking is due to not reading a Piper Rayne book until now. The patting of my shoulder is due to the fact that I finally took the plunge and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! This book had it all for me. Humor, the swoons, nuclear level smexiness, great characters & the kind of family dynamic that has me wanting to spend more time with all the people (Well...most) that I got to meet throughout the story.

I ended up adoring Enzo and Annie. Enzo’s first impression is definitely not the best, calling him an asshat is a pretty apt description. But as you spend time with him, you come to realize that it’s not something he’s really conscious of doing. He does know, but it’s...well, you just need to experience it. But underneath all of that, he is a total sweetheart. Annie was a lot of fun. She is driven and knows exactly what she wants out of her life and isn’t afraid to do what needs to be done to get there. She has a few hang ups and they had me wanting to reach out and shake some sense into her, but her natural sweetness mixed with a snarkiness I appreciated kept things balanced quite nicely for me.

Their journey to their HEA was one I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything they went through, all the conversations they had with themselves in their heads along with the actual conversations they had with each other just felt natural. Their chemistry jumped up off the page and I was rooting for them the entire time. The bump in their road wasn’t unexpected, so I was prepared for it when it happened and all I have to say is that I loved how everything turned out for them in the end.

I’m really happy I finally dove into the words of Piper Rayne. I was hooked from the start and basically devoured the book in no time flat. I thought the issues brought up in the book were handled very well and only served to make the story more enjoyable. And then there are the supporting cast of characters. I loved Jake, Mae, Beth, Sam, Dom, Blanco and the parents. They all rocked! Carm...well...the jury is still out on until I get my hands on his book, which is thankfully next!

This is the first book I've read by Piper Rayne and I absolutely loved it! Enjo ♥ Annie! Their story was sweet and I enjoyed each and every page. Additionally, I liked how such a serious issue as women in the workforce was presented and the resolution. I'm going to read the next one in the series for sure!

Sexy Filthy Boss was the first book in the White Collar Brothers series by the authors Piper Rayne. The series was a spin off from their White Collar Brothers series.

Enzo Mancini was a Sr Ad Exec with a prestigious firm. He had been working fast and furious to make partner. He was career focused, a workaholic, and tough on his assistants, never able to keep one for long.

Annie Stewart was an assistant at the firm with visions of being an Ad Exec so she was putting in her time for climbing the corporate ladder. She was moved into Enzo’s assistant position temporarily until yet another assistant was hired.

Sexy Filthy Boss was the quintessential good looking bachelor Boss / employee theme mixed with the humor that we’ve come to expect from the authors. Additionally, there were some real life lessons mixed in, adding depth and reality to the storyline. Lastly, the authors took the opportunity to introduce the Mancini family for setting the stage for the series.

All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read. Although it wasn’t my favorite book by the authors, I enjoyed it. And I was glad to see the addition of a controversial topic. No spoilers, so no elaboration. Carmelo Mancini is up next in Dirty Flirty Enemy but hopefully the authors won’t forget about Blanca Mancini, their sister, and give us her story as well.

This writing duo has become one of my most favorite authors! Their books are filled with steam, a few laughs and endearing characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! And I and Annie were just perfect together...in and out of the office. While I'm looking forward to Carm's book, Dom is the one I am anxiously awaiting.

i read this sooooo quickly. it was steamy and fun "workplace/forbidden romance" which i always loved to read about. one of my favorite tropes in NA books. i loved that annie could stand up for herself even when she was or when annie and enzo first got paired together. although enzo has a reputation for firing his assistance, he isn't a bad guy at all. annie always have sassy comebacks to refute enzo. i'm excited to read carm and dom's stories too, now that i know they're doomed to fall in love too.

Do you know what one of my favorite tropes is? Office romance. So of course, this was a no brainer I had to read this book by Piper Rayne! I had it really hyped up in my head before I started reading it for a lot of reasons.
1 It is an office romance
2 It is written by Piper Rayne it has to be good.
3 It is a cross over from the blur collar brothers series and I loved that one!

Luckily this book did not disappoint. It had the easy feel that every Piper Rayne books have as if it is so natural the way the book evolve and I couldn't imagine it having happened another way. It was filled with the fun banter between an egomaniac boss and a sassy assistant. It was filled with drama with the workplace but also a lot more than the normal thing about not getting caught. There was, of course, some hot, steamy tension and sex scenes as we all love. And then, at last, there was the fun but up in your business family that just made this book perfect.

I kinda loved Enzo from the beginning of the book. Even though he has a huge ego and is a dick to his assistants he knows a good thing when he sees it and was sweet from the beginning. Of course, he had to push Annie's button as a good egomaniac boss should do just to see how she will react but he never crosses the line to mean and that was amazing for me. I also adore the role he has in the family and how he always loses in rock, paper, scissor that is just to much fun that a man like him just can't seem to win.

Annie is a girl with some backbone (i love a woman who knows what she wants), she refuses to do everything for Enzo and always calls him on his bullshit. But what I also love is she knows from the beginning she is fucked when it comes to working for him and admits defeat. But she never lets him boss her around or take over her life. It is almost the other way around.

So, all in all, do you love an office romance as much as me then hurry up and buy this book you will not regret it!

I keep wanting to call this series the White Collar Cousins which was the original series name as that is who I see them as. For those who have read the Blue Collar Brothers series, White Collar Brothers are their cousins. However unlike the Blue Collars who worked community orientated jobs. These Mancini's boys are RICH and pride themselves on being Bachelors. The first brother to star as a Sexy Filthy Boss is Enzo, whom we saw featured briefly in Luca's story when the whole family got together. Enzo is in the advertising industry and his boss is definitely still a man's man and in parts came across quite Chauvinistic. In a way, Enzo's character was a bit like that too and he reminded me of what I think Jagger was like before he found love and met his match. Enzo is the type of boss who goes through secretaries like they are only available as the flavor of the week and then they expire. That is until he borrows his co-worker's secretary Annie. She is fiery and knows her job and is definitely not a pushover as she doesn't believe in romance and relationships as she has seen her parents' relationship burnt. As the book goes along, Annie makes Enzo re-evaluate his life and the views he has towards woman as he has finally met his match in her. What happens though when their friendship and work relationships cross that line of an office romance and it starts to affect Enzo's work as he becomes nicer and his boss doesn't like the fact he is becoming in his words "a big softie". I have to admit, I did find this book a bit harder to read as I didn't like Enzo's cold and hotness as that is a turn-off in books for me. I really hate people who play games with emotions. I do have to admit I am looking forward to Carm's story as he sounded like a crack-up and fun brother of the three whereas Enzo was the arrogant one and Dom was the responsible one. Overall, another great first book in the White Collar Brothers series by Piper Rayne and I look forward to discovering the other brother's romance stories.

3.5 Writing On The Wall Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review & FREE!!!!
This was an engaging read that covered all of the issues with women not receiving the credit they deserve.

We are given the obnoxious, difficult, incredibly handsome senior ad executive.
He cannot keep an assistant for the life of him. He goes through them like Kleenex and we are there as another assistant bites the dust.

Our gal has been working for another ad executive and has a great relationship with him. She is ready to leave for the day and gets forced into covering the desk of the difficult boss.

The company they work for is a top ad agency and is in the process of pitching a huge client that can make or break the man in charge. He has our gal sit in the meeting and low and behold, she saves the day with her ideas.

This is the start of the relationship with these two. The client loves our gal, she is transferred and the working together on the products opens our guy's eyes as to how his company may not be all he thought it was...How women were never getting a leg up the corporate chain.

This was an easy read, touched on relationships and the corporate world, and the introduction to another family of sexy guys. It all worked.

5 Star Review Sexy Filthy Boss (White Collar Brothers #1) by Piper Rayne
Book one in an exciting new series from Piper Rayne and if Sexy Filthy Boss is anything to go by this will be another fabulous series. This series is about the Mancini brothers who are cousins of the Bianco brothers from their successful Blue Collar series.
Book one is Lorenzo "Enzo" Mancini’s story and what a story it is. He constantly has issues keeping assistants, so when Annie Stewart is asked to fill in after his latest assistant leaves, she is wary.
If Enzo can pull off his latest deal, he will make partner and Annie will get her promotion, the only issue is to get either, they will have to work closely together.
The chemistry between Enzo and Annie is intense and impossible to ignore, late nights and business trips ensure that it is getting harder and harder to ignore the smoldering chemistry that is between them.
Enzo is totally focused on his work, could Annie be the woman to make him slow down and slowly but surely chip away at the walls he has surrounded himself with? I surely hope so. I loved how fiercely Annie stood up for herself, not afraid and not backing down to Enzo, she is one feisty lady and I really liked her.
The writing is strong and I have no idea where one author finished and the other took over, such is the smooth flow of this writing team.

I am excited to learn more about the Mancini family and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

4.5*

Move over Bianco brothers, the cousins have come a-calling, and I am here to welcome them with open arms. Oh, but please, don't tell Luca, Mauro, or Christian, though- I don't want them to think I'm cheating on them. Although I am. I so am.
After finishing Engaged to the EMT I couldn't wait for Lorenzo, "Enzo", Mancini's story, and let me tell you- I was not disappointed. This man, for all his playboy, chauvanistic, manwhorish ways, was a delight. And Annie was just the woman to show him the error of his ways.
This was such a fun and sexy office romance. Enzo and Annie sure were an entertaining couple- I liked them individually and I really liked them together, they're one of those couples who balance each other perfectly. I enjoyed the "forbidden" aspect of the story- I was on edge waiting for them to get caught!
While this was for the most part a light-hearted story, it also dealt with something women all too often have to put up with in real life work situations- being held down by the man. And I loved how Piper Rayne handled it- although I really wish a certain someone was made to suffer. Alas, we can't have everything!
These brothers are definitely giving the Biancos a run for their money. I am so looking forward to Carm and Dom's stories! I do believe Carm is going to have his hands full.

Oh man, I really can't get enough of this duo. Every book I have read just makes me want more.

Enzo Mancini just can't seem to keep any assistant. As the case is now, another one just quit. Now what? He did not need this headache now, he is up for partner and he can't afford any mistakes.
Annie Stewart is part of the Admin team and the pa to another boss, so when she is asked to fill in as Enzo's assistant she is not happy. She really does not want to work for this grouchy man.
But both of them are surprised. Enzo with how efficient Annie is and Annie that there is more to this man than just being the boss.
Spending more and more time together means they cannot run from this sizzling chemistry and its kind of tough when you spend late night toghether...

What I always love about this duo's writing is the LOL moments, the fiestiness of the heroine and that she can stand up for herself. The awesome banter between the couple and the rest of the characters in this book. I know this series is going to be another winner. And i cannot wait for the next brother's book!

Great book for this type of romantic books.
Light, funny, intelligent and touches on an important issue of the status of women in workplaces and in general.
Very cute and recommended for someone who is looking for something not particularly deep .

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Office Romance up notch

An Italian family rom-com
I love it so much - the plot, the family things they have , the humours among the Italian brothers ( H family ) I also enjoy how this book portray there’s still lot company out there which treat women staff differently then men - yes I know shame on them for being so misogynist

I laugh a lots tough
Despite the cover this book it’s really brighten my night and day

Just like listening to track of London Boy by Taylor Swift but with an extra complimentary The Man track in between , empowering women yet giving goofy feeling with the chemistry between Enzo ( H ) & Annie ( h - I know if only author give another name option for h something like Taylor )

I’m II for the second book / Carmelo Mancini must be bring something good with enemy to lover theme

Love this book! It was quick to read, steamy.
I like both characters and the side characters - mainly Enzo's Italian family.
Okay, the one thing that I found at first funny but later annoying is 30-year-old brothers playing rock, paper, scissors when they couldn't decide on sth. I mean, you're 30. I get it if you do it once but for everything? C'mon, that's childish. Not to mention that they want to avoid their mother's matchmaking so they want to find their sister a guy so they're off the hook.
This is an office fling and we all know that once they hook up, their personal and business relationship will suffer. In this case, he did something he shouldn't than apologised and she quickly forgave him. I mean, if their boss (the boss of the bosses) wouldn't be such an ass, I would say she forgave him too soon.
4 stars.

I love this duo and I can't wait to read Carm's book!

Annie is our hardworking assistant with the opportunity to be with Enzo and be in the advertising campaign. He is our man in a hot suit and an important role in the company. It's amazing how he wanted some of his brothers to find a partner when he had the best woman in front of him. There were many sexy moments, but others so cute from Enzo and also adds more fun to this book. I've spent most of my time laughing at the relationship between the three brothers. I haven't had a chance to read the cousins' books, but I'll take it very soon.
