Fun and flirty with oodles of romance and chemistry, Heartthrob is without doubt Robin Bielman doing what she does best.

description If Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill had a love child, he would look like Finn Auprince.”

description

My heart was literally doing a happy-dance whilst I sat reading as Chloe and Finn’s romance leapt from sweet to steamy, humorous to heartfelt. Success and wealth is in pro-baseball star Finn’s DNA and whilst he has the confidence and air of alpha-loveliness that comes with that, he’s grounded and wise, focussed on his career and enjoying bachelorhood. Until Chloe crashes into his life, sweet, sassy, fun and brought on-board to help handle his social media popularity.

description I’ll gladly share her burdens if she’ll just open her heart and let me in.”

With real, relatable notes to their story, both were incredibly easy to love and with the added factors of Finn’s close relationship with his brothers, humour courtesy of his fabulous Gran, a smattering of angst and the discovery that goat yoga is a real and magnificent thing, this is a book which simply hits all the right spots.

description Those other guys? They were just so you’d know what true love feels like—with me.”

If a light, easy romantic read with engaging writing is your jam, Heartthrob is exactly that.

5 - "You're my favourite person ever..." Stars!

The first book in Robin Bielman's American Royalty series gives us baseball player Finn Auprince and PR Guru Chloe Conrad’s story.

Why am I the gatekeeper to others happily ever after...?

This is a couple that are linked in more ways than one, initially what starts with a car accident, Finn then finds out Chloe has also been tasked by his team to improve his public persona and online following stats, this is before he finds out her father is also the last umpire he disrespected while having a bad day at the office, one that got even worse when he left the pitch with a broken collar bone, as well as a missed catch in outfield, costing the Landsharks an important victory.

"You’re my assignment… I’m not yours."

The attraction between them is instant, but Chloe having been burned more than once by the men in her life is extremely wary, but caution soon scatters to the wind, and they agree to a no strings arrangement. Problem being one of them likes the strings and wants to keep adding more of them the more time they spend with each other.

"My hearts been hurt too many times… I can’t risk it again."

If you mix together a few well loved tropes, a wealth of likeable characters, and a well written, beautifully paced story-line Heartthrob ticks every box you are likely to have and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I loved writing this book. My hero, Finn, is a pro baseball player who falls for his social media manager and fun ensues. There’s a puppy and baby goat yoga and kissing and a drunk confession and family and more kissing and food in bed and accidental eavesdropping that involves a *ahem* certain body part of Finn’s. ;) This is the first book in my American Royalty series, but each book is a standalone. The series is now complete and I'm going to miss these characters a lot. Hugs and thanks to everyone who has spent time with Finn, Ethan, Drew, and Grandma Rosemary!

There is nothing I love more than a book that puts a giant, schmoopy smile on my face for almost the entire story. That very smile was set to perma-grin from the moment of Finn and Chloe’s meet-cute to the very end (with only slight wobbles along the way). I loved them so much, and Heartthrob is the epitome of a feel good story.

Finn is not exactly what I expected from the “hottest player in the major leagues”, much less American Royalty. He was much more likable than I anticipated – funny, humble, and utterly irresistible. My heart basically handed itself over to him immediately upon first introduction, and stood steadfastly by him as the story unfolded. The possibility exists that I loved him more than Chloe did, and that’s saying something because the chemistry between those two was on point and they set my pulse racing, heart fluttering, and – well, that smile. They made me smile so hard, so big, and so often – I was just a complete goner.

The writing is engaging is smart, and the humor hit right at my sweet spots. I had so much fun reading this story. I loved the banter, the adorable playfulness between Finn and Chloe. I loved that some more serious issues were addressed in a respectful, realistic manner even as the tone of the book felt consistently light and easy. I loved the emotional depth, and the sizzle between them. I loved the secondary characters – and the fact that there are more of these books to come. I loved the whole package and honestly cannot wait for more! ~ Shelly, 4.5 Stars

Finn Auprince wants nothing more than to forget about how last season ended. But the baseball club wants to clean up his image and make him more accessible to fans so they hired social media manager Chloe Conrad to help Finn. She’s not only an umpire’s daughter who rattles off baseball stats like a pro (talk about sexy) but she knows her marketing. When she’s near, all he want to do is run his fingers through her hair and kiss her senseless. The only hitch: she thinks she’s a curse to all men. He’s got to prove her wrong and show her she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

Chloe knows exactly what Finn is: sex on a stick. After being dumped, she’s sworn off men forever. She’s a curse. She’s the girl men date on the way to finding their soul mate. She’s determined to keep it professional with Finn. She don’t need a fling and that’s all it would be with him. But the more she’s around him, the more she unearths the man behind the smile. His heart lays open and she can’t help herself. Can she turn him from heartthrob to all hers or will the curse break her heart again?

As a baseball fan, Heartthrob is a home run. It has all the nuances of the world of professional baseball balanced with a heart-stopping romance. Finn and Chloe are one of those couples you yearn for them to get together and then when they do, your heart melts. Robin Bielman ratchets up the sexual tension until the reader needs a cold shower but the payoff is sublime. The ending was so good, I gave a cheer. Romance at its very best.

If you’re looking for a summer read or a contemporary romance with heart, pick up Heartthrob today. Perfect for any baseball fan. You’ll be cheering for Finn and Chloe!

Finn Auprince is not your typical professional baseball player. His focus is strictly all baseball all the time. That is, until he gets hurt and meets Chloe Conrad. She’s the PR rep his team set him up with to increase his social media presence. To say Chloe knows baseball is an understatement, she knows baseball like the back of her hand. She spent her teenage years traveling the country with her dad while he umpired games. Chloe believes she is cursed. Every guy she has ever been with has found his happily ever after while dating her. The last time was her last straw and she’s done with men.

But Chloe wasn’t prepared for Finn, and tries to keep their relationship professional. Finn was definitely not prepared for Chloe but he went all in on the chase. I loved their relationship, it started off slow and easy but they settled seamlessly into each other, almost without noticing. They were friends but it was also more, deeper. I loved their quick witty banter with each other. How Finn gets easily offended and how Chloe makes it seem like no big deal. I love the line “you’re my favorite person ever..” In all actuality, I’d be hard pressed to find something that I didn’t like.

This was my first book by Robin Bielman but it won’t be the last. I throughly enjoyed these characters and their story. I cannot wait to read more books my this author.

I say it every time but Robin Bielman’s books always make me feel good! Heartthrob put a smile into my face as it is funny, sexy and the characters so cute!

Finn is one of the most famous baseball players until one injury makes him angry and in need of help with his social image. Enter Chloe, the sassy social media guru and bam instant attraction!

This book is humorous and the couple adorable. I expected Finn to be a cocky player but the man is humble, sweet and kind. Some of his actions are heartwarming and will touch you. Chloe is sassy, smart and confident.

I have no idea about baseball since we don’t have it here so I was a bit lost with the terms but I overall enjoyed this book! This couple has chemistry from the start and together they work well.

My only complaint was towards the end when Chloe accused Finn a little too fast for my liking. She chose to keep her distance than communicate with him but fortunately, everything was resolved quickly.

If you want a light, easy story with a playful couple, this book is the one for you!

If Robin Bielman isn’t already on your auto-buy/auto-read list, she NEEDS to be! She is an incredible writer, who has a heart of gold and writes characters you wish were real. Translation, I want to be the heroine to every single one of her heroes.

I LOVED Heartthrob. I feel as though I should wax some amazing poetry about the story. But I don’t have the words. What I can say is Robin has made me laugh and cry. She literally turned me inside out and had me crying tears of sadness and joy. It’s been awhile since a book has touched my soul and this one did it. For purely personal reasons, it’s like she gave me a gift when I needed one the most.

Finn Auprince is the Center Fielder for MLB’s Landsharks. Rich beyond his dreams, due to his family’s hotel empire, Finn is really just an average guy. Growing up for him was at times hard, but he had the support of his family. His first love is baseball, because it showed him that he could be good at something.

Chloe Conrad is a social media manager. She’s the daughter of a famous umpire and spent her childhood traveling from stadium to stadium with her father. Chloe loves baseball and tends to quote baseball stats without even thinking about it. Chloe believes herself to be cursed in that her last few boyfriends have found “the one” while dating her.

Finn and Chloe meet when she accidentally runs into him. Little do they know that the next day they will start to spend the rest of their lives together.

It’s every MLB player’s dream to play in and win the World Series. Finn was halfway there. It was game seven and he had a chance to end the game. But unfortunately, he lost the ball and ended up fracturing his clavicle. Add to that, in an earlier game, he had a hissy fit when a call didn’t go his way. Now, the team wants to capitalize on the number of his social media followers and show him in a better light. The team hires him a social media manager; none other than Chloe. Also known as the daughter of the umpire he disrespected.

As the two work together, their attraction grows. But Chloe has just instituted a no more men policy and she plans on sticking to it. Of course, Finn wears her down with his charming ways. With great main and secondary characters (hello, future book boyfriends Ethan and Drew Auprince), Heartthrob was playful, fun, and entertaining. It was also emotional, which I didn’t see coming. Chloe is loving, fun, sweet, and passionate. She and Finn are really good together. For his part, Finn is a hero who had my heart from page one. I’m in love and there’s nothing else to say.

Heartthrob by Robin Bielman is a beautifully written romance and a lovely start to the American Royalty series.

I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Finn and Chloe, they had great chemistry and both were likable/entertaining characters.
I also enjoyed getting to meet Finn's brothers, I'm excited to read their stories and see who will win their hearts <3

Overall, a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, I highly recommend this book.

Very cute sports romance between Chloe and Finn. This couple hit it off (literally) instantly. Not insta love, but Chloe knew Finn was a baseball mega star. Chloe is a social media expert and is hired for Finn. They have great chemistry and fun banter, throw in a puppy and it’s a fun read. Finn is one hot male and there is plenty of steamy scenes once these two get to know each other. Finn has 2 other brothers, so I think I will need to find out more about them.

Sports romance, for some reason as I don't like sports, it actually one of my favorite tropes. I enjoy, I think, the aspect of the game, of the job they do being so all encompassing that it is not only a job, but the main thing in their lives.

So, Finn and Chloe have that not going for them from the beginning. He's a major league ball player, she's his social media person, in charge of making sure he looks good on the internet. And, his focus is on healing from his injury and making sure that he is able to play again. He sees Chloe as a distraction until the season begins.

But, what happens when there is something more there? When the relationship means more to both of them when the relationship turns into something that is not just a short time? Well, this is when they both need to make decisions about the direction of the relationship and how much it matters to them each. And, at least for me, this is where the book was not as strong. I believed that they each love one another, and that there is an attraction there...but, did I believe the decisions they made to stay together? Yes, and no. It made sense from the basis of the relationship, but it felt like it was a little too easy for them (Finn especially) to go from romance as a sideline to his relationship and the focus of his story with a willingness to allow her into his life.

I am not saying it didn't work...just that it worked a little too smoothly for me to be able to fully believe in it.

That said, I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

Wowza did I love this book! Romance and baseball? Yes please! Finn Auprince? Absolutely yes please! I love Robin Bielman but she really outdid herself with this amazing and must read story.
When Finn is injured during the championship game of his life and he mouths off to one of the umpires, it's fortunate he wasn't ejected from the game. Although he is out on the injured list, anxious to get well and back into training before the season starts. The team reps want him to have his face out there, something Finn hates but they bring him a social presence manager, and we meet Chloe Conrad. Chloe isn't really impressed by Finn. Growing up around baseball her whole life and traveling with her umpire father after her mother died, the woman can spiel more sports stats that Google. I adored Chloe, her wit and quirks matched Finn's passion. Chloe hasn't exactly been lucky in the romance department and officially believes she's jinxed forever. She's decided she's bad luck and no more men for her! Work is safe, love is not. But Chloe wasn't prepared for the force of nature that is Finn. This man melted my socks. Truly I wanted my own Finn. Underneath all his bluster, fuss and love for baseball is a kind, generous, man who is hot as Hades. One of three brothers in the well to do Auprince family, a totally stand up guy! Robin weaves a fantastic story bringing these two together and it was so much fun to watch them make their way to the same page! I fell for these two in the best way. Stellar writing as always and characters to love. And wow am I anxious to meet the next brother in line, Ethan!

Absolutely drool worthy baseball playing hero Finn Auprince meets his match in Chloe Conrad, baseball umpires daughter and has sworn off love believing she's "cursed." Welcome to world of the Auprince brothers! Guaranteed to please! Did not put this one down.
*Finn may be your new book boyfriend*

Heartthrob put a smile on my face almost the entire time I was reading it! Robin Bielman nailed these two characters to the point that I want them in my life as my friends! GAH!! Finn and Chloe were absolutely charming and I have to say, their chemistry was on point. There was not one thing I could find that made me doubt their attraction to each other, I was smitten with both of them throughout the story! I truly enjoyed every moment of Heartthrob and I cannot wait to read more books from Robin Bielman!

I really book! So we have hottie baseball player Finn-glad I grabbed this I love sports stories but normally I grab hockey players so this was a refreshing change I know it is not my first book from a baseball player but it seriously has been years. Anywho back to review, so Finn is hurt and while on his imposed recovery he needs a social media specialist not because he wants to but because he has to and in enters Chloe. I really liked Chloe for a majority of reasons, one she was down to earth and dressed comfortably not trying to impress others, second she was not falling all over herself over Finn. These two were great together I enjoyed their chemistry and their banter and I can't wait for the next brother!!

Professional baseball player Finn Auprince is as famous and as talented as they come, so the fact that he’s such a down-to-earth and humble guy makes him quite an appealing superstar, but with an injury that puts him on the DL after a less than stellar showing in the championship game as well as the fact that he mouth-offed and disrespected an umpire, the powers that be feel he needs a bit of help to repair his public image, and as luck would have it, the person in charge of rebranding baseball’s ‘it’ guy is none other than social media aficionado Chloe Conrad - the woman who Finn has already met when they got into a small fender bender and he soon learns she’s also the daughter of the baseball official who he had more than a few choice words with during his last game.

Chloe Conrad thinks she’s cursed when it comes to relationships, and her her track record does seem to point in that direction, but from my perspective, she just hasn’t found her one…until now! And while Chloe has a professional obligation to help Finn, the chemistry between them is definitely on a much more personal level, and the more time they spend together, the closer they become, until they can’t help but want to take the biggest risk of their lives...on each other.

The fact that America’s favorite pastime is loved by both the main characters and the author resonates from the pages of the story. The baseball lingo is on point and the passion expressed made me ready to play ball!

Heartthrob is a feel good, humorous, sweet, and swoon worthy romance; it’s light on the angst and heavy on the feels and laughs. I love that Chloe’s curse didn’t dominate her life or the storyline...it was in there just enough to understand why she felt the way she did based on her past relationships. After meeting Finn’s family, especially his brothers, I’m so ready to learn more about them and have them find their one, just like Finn.

I was hooked from the very first page. I loved the banter and the connection that Chloe and Finn had. Not to mention the definite physical attraction thrumming between them from their very first meeting, when crashing into each other. I like the way the author would let us find out about things the same way as one of the characters, but she did it without us being held captive wondering what was going on with several chapter going by. It was always a quick surprise or event at the beginning of the next chapter. Perfect way to introduce us to a new obstacle, especially when we would get a hint of that at the end of the last chapter. I really liked Finn a lot, and I adored his brothers as well. I'm looking forward to reading more about them in future books in this new series. It was also perfect timing for a baseball story what with that season really getting going right now. If only my Kansas City Royals were back up to their playing from a few years ago when we were World Series bound, and they hadn't traded away my crush, Eric Hosmer.

"You are the love of my life. You turned my world upside down from the moment we met. Your laugh is my favorite sound. Your smile is my favorite sight."

A fun and flirty romantic story between two well-rounded characters. Everything good about romantic comedy is packed in the first book of the American Royalty series. It is a treat to wind down on the weekend with a good book.

Finn Auprince is an american royalty by birth. He's also a very skilled baseball player who's temporarily injured. Meeting Chloe Conrad is fate playing its part in his luck. He then learned that Chloe is in charge of his social media manager. But his attraction to her is palpable and undeniable.

Tough luck on him because Chloe has been through enough with love. After countless encounters with relationships that ended with her heart breaking. She has tons of emotional baggage to unload. But one look at Finn Auprince and all cautions are thrown out of the window.

With a well-paced plot, amazing dynamic between each character, and good-natured humor, it is hard not to enjoy this book.

I am so in love with Finn with Chloe!! They will make your heart pitter patter. Finn is a baseball player, who is injured and needs a social media manager to repair the damage of his reputation, in walks Chloe. Chloe has sworn off men, but soon that may change after meeting Finn. The chemistry between these two is so believable and hot! I fell in love with Sammy too. Two of my favorites in life, baseball and puppies, how could I resist! This book will leave you smiling for a long time, I highly recommend it, it was Amazificent!!

The reputation that Finn has worked so hard to build as a great baseball player and good teammate is lost due to one missed play on the field. Not only did he cost the team the championship, he now finds himself injured and his attitude after it happened has people questioning his character so the team hires a social media manager to clean up the mess he has made.

Chloe has been around sport stars all her life so she isn’t about to be impressed by Finn. She is very attracted to him however her past has shown her that love isn’t in the cards for her and she isn’t about to go down that road again.

From their first meeting Finn knew that she was special and is determined to show her that she isn’t cursed but she hadn’t met the right man before him. Great characters, humorous banter and a storyline that will keep you entertained until the last page.

**4.5 stars** Robin Bielman has hit a home run with the first book in her new American Royalty series, Heartthrob!

Finn Auprince, the top center fielder in MLB has unfortunately lost his team the World Series and has injured himself in the final game to make matters worse. When his reputation takes a hit from his actions during the series, the team hires a social media manager to help get him get back in the good standing with the public.

When Finn meets Chloe Conrad, the social media manager, he’s instantly drawn to her. There’s no denying the chemistry between these two. While Chloe is trying to keep things professional between them (she’s sworn off men after having her heart broken too many times), it’s getting harder and harder to keep up her defenses when it comes to Finn. They have so much fun together and Finn is a very charming, fun and all-around good guy.

As much as Chloe wants to give them a chance, she believes she’s cursed when it comes to love. Can Finn convince her differently and that they’re meant for each other?

This story was so much fun to read! I loved Finn and Chloe! Add in an adorable puppy, great secondary characters, and a storyline that had me smiling throughout the book, made this book a winner!

I definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR!

Cute baseball love story

I’m kind of always a fan of baseball romances because I love all things baseball related. This romance was really more cute than I expected, I think from the blurb I assumed that they H and h were going to be more at odds with each other than they were. It kind of made it seem like Finn had made some real mistakes and a PR person was brought in to fix things. Sure he had some mishaps, but they weren’t actually big, no one seemed angry with him, and Chloe was one of many brought in to raise the profile of some of the players. So because of that I felt like the blurb was a tad misleading.
That being said, I enjoyed the whole thing from beginning to end. Chloe has kind of a messed up love history, every guy she has ever been with has met the love of their lives while she was dating them, including the guy she was with when the book starts. He literally introduces her to the “love of his life” while he’s breaking up with her on their one year anniversary. I really felt for Chloe and totally understood about her not wanting to really give anyone a chance when it came to dating. Her heart was more than a little bruised. I really liked Chloe, she’s just one of those people who is just authentic. Plus she’s super into baseball and really good at her job, oh and she loves words, so I love her.
Finn was more complex than I was expecting. He comes from a rich family, but clearly they are close knit and love each other. He does have a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to his family, because he doesn’t see himself as smart as they are. But he’s got great drive and focus, and he’s just a nice guy. I felt like he and Chloe had really good chemistry and I really liked the build up between them. I also liked that Finn was the one who put himself out there, even though it wasn’t really what he was used to.
As a side note, I loved how much a dog was a part of this story. Sammy was adorable, I loved seeing them play with her, and hang out with her, and just how her story evolves over the book. I really thought this book was cute and sweet and just an enjoyable read.

Such a fun book to read. I couldn't get enough of Finn and Chloe.

Baseball star, Finn Auprince is the hottest player in Major League Baseball. When Chloe Conrad is hired to be his social media manager, life turns around for them both. Chloe believes she is cursed when it comes to love and Finn doesn't get serious with any of the women he dates. But, together, they bring out the best in each other. When they decide to give romance a try, both Chloe and Finn are surprised how well they get along. But, will it be enough for a lasting relationship?

I knew from the very first page of this book, that I wouldn't be able to put it down. It is a really good romantic comedy with characters I didn't want to say goodbye to when the book came to an end. I was impressed with this author’s writing style. She kept it lighthearted and fun. I will definitely be picking up some more of her books soon.

Finn is a super star on a baseball diamond, an actual golden boy. Until he wasn't. Due to a bad catch, not only does he cost his team a championship game but he injures himself. Finn is devastated at this turn of events. Baseball is his life and this injury could put everything he has worked for in jeopardy. So the team hires a social media manager to help his online persona to repair the damage that was done when he acted like a big brat on the field.

Chloe is this social media manager and is super excited to have the opportunity to help rebuild Finn's image. Only when she is introduced to him, they both realize that they have met before under funny circumstances. Due to the long hours they spend with each other the attraction builds and builds but can this ballplayer make room in his life he has devoted to baseball for a relationship? Can she cope with dating someone who is on the road as much as he is?

The chemistry was unbelievable and there were a few hot, steamy scenes. I liked seeing Finn and his family interact and see a different side to him especially when it comes to Chloe. I loved Chloe and her past, even though it was rocky for her. Love her determination and fierce love for baseball. These two really were a perfect match!! I am looking forward to reading the upcoming books about other characters in this book!

I love all of Robin Bielman's books, but this is the absolute best so far! Wait until you meet Finn. He is a hero to end all heroes and is totally thrown a curve ball when he meets his new social media manager, Chloe. I started this book and finished it in one day. Couldn't put it down! I truly didn't want it to end. Really great writing and storytelling! I am looking forward to the next two books in Robin Bielman's series!

4 1/2 Stars! This book's a home run!

Finn is a baseball player who has a shoulder injury ... oh yeah, and not only does he have the bucks, his family is loaded. After his blowup with the ump in that infamous game, his team hires him a social media expert to help repair his reputation. Chloe loves baseball ... because when she was young, she travelled with her single father who was a baseball ump ... yeah, Chloe's dad is "that" ump. So when Chloe literally runs into Finn, she knows exactly who he is. A few days later she comes face to face with Finn ... her new client. Finn can't believe his luck, he never thought he'd see the beauty who ran into him again. The connection between them is obvious, so can they keep their relationship business ... or will it become personal?

I loved Finn and Chloe! Finn just has a heart of gold and Chloe is just sooo cute! The banter between them is so realistic. I found this book so easy to read ... it just flowed so good. This book had me smiling throughout it, laughing out loud, swooning at the romance and then there's the sex scenes ... just WOW! I even loved the supporting characters and can't wait for Finn's brother's (Ethen and Drew) books. Believe me, you are missing out if you don't read this book!

Author Robin Bielman

Publication date: may 7 2019

Goodreads rating: 4.50

My rating: 4.5 stars!

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

Before I came across this book, I had never heard of Robin Bielman before. So I genuinely had no idea what to expect from this author, but I was so pleasantly surprised!

Heartthrob is the first book in the American Royalty series, and I can’t freaking wait to preorder book two and three!

From what I understand (and Robin feel free to correct me here if I’m wrong) each book can be read as a stand alone, the first book introduces us to Finn and his brothers Ethan and drew, but the story itself is about Finn. The second book, whilst still featuring Finn and drew is about Ethan, the third is about Drew.

Okay, now we’ve got that little info dump out of the way let’s get back to talking specifically about Heartthrob.

Here is the synopsis featured on goodreads and amazon:

He likes a challenge…

Here’s the deal: I’m the best center fielder in the major leagues. I’m also the guy who cost his team the championship game and acted very unsportsmanlike. So, when the team hires a social media manager to repair the damage to my reputation, I don’t argue. But then I meet Chloe Conrad, and I suddenly understand what people mean when they say they have an instant connection to someone. Which means I’m in serious trouble. Chloe’s a smart, sexy distraction I can’t afford, but one date can’t hurt, right? Only she turns me down. And just like that, it’s game on.

She’s sworn off love…

Finn Auprince is the hottest player in the major leagues. Look up “It Factor” in the dictionary and there’s his handsome face. He’s also my biggest client and I don’t care how easy it is to talk to him or how fun it is to manage his social media accounts, I will not give in to his charms. Then one drunken night, I tell him about my curse: all my previous boyfriends have found their soul mates while dating me. One more heartbreak, and I’ll never recover. But Finn doesn’t believe in curses—he believes in me. Professionally and personally. He sets out to prove the universe isn’t against me, and that his one true love isn’t waiting around the next corner.

The problem is…can we play the game of love and both come out on top?

***

I know absolutely NOTHING about baseball, I won’t lie to you. I’m from England and assume it’s like a game of Rounders. I’m not usually a massive fan of sports romances, but recently I’ve been very drawn to them. (I have to thank Rachel Van Dyken for that!) And when I came across this book on netgalley and read the description, I was instantly intrigued by it. Like I said earlier, I’d genuinely never come across Robin and her books before so I didn’t know what to expect going into this book. I loved it though, I didn’t need to actually understand baseball even though it’s a massive part of this book, I just had to understand Chloe and Finn’s love for the game and that was pretty easy to do because they’re both so passionate about it. Even though I didn’t understand their sporty jargon, I felt compelled to read on anyway, I was so connected with both characters that their excitement for a game I know nothing about rubbed off on me. Both Finn and Chloe were so easy to relate too! They were well fleshed out, and their families were an absolute joy to read about through their eyes. There’s so much love in these books. Love for parents, love for friends, love for siblings, and of course the romantic kind too. It was just really heartwarming, and funny too. I love romance books that are full of humour, and Heartthrob is definitely one of those books. Of course the book also has some heart stopping moments, and a little heartbreak but let’s be honest, there’s no point in writing a book if your just going to give the characters an easy ride, readers would get so damn bored! Personally I think robin nailed it with this book, I felt all kinds of feels whilst reading it and truly believed in the connection Finn and Chloe shared. I’d love a follow up book to be honest!

I will definitely be recommending this book to absolutely anyone who will listen to me. Just as soon as I catch up on my sleep because I’ve stayed up until 3am for a couple nights in a row now reading this book! I loved it. I can’t wait to continue the series! And I’m also going to have to check out some more of robins books because I’m seriously loving her writing!

The first half of this book was a 4, while the second half was a 3.5.

If you're looking for a light read that'll make you smile, this is the book! Heartthrob is the kind of book that makes you feel like you're on a cloud high up in the sky, with no cares in the world except for what's happening between the pages.

There's nothing worse than reading a book with characters you can't root for. That was not a problem here, thank goodness!!
Chloe is such a sweet, loving girl; she wants to love and be loved in return, but unfortunately she doesn't have much family, and has been burned by her boyfriends. The loneliness she felt was so tangible (and also relatable), and you can't not root for her to find her happy ending. I also loved that Chloe's curse wasn't focused on much in the book. Yes, it affected Chloe, but it didn't drive her every decision, and it wasn't spoken about in every chapter- and I'm very happy about that.
Finn was not what I was expecting! I was expecting a grouchy jerk who couldn't keep it in his pants (probably from the first two sentences in the blurb). I realised soon, though, that he wasn't egotistical; he just knew what he was good at. But he also knew what he wasn't good at- and these glimpses of a vulnerable Finn made me love him even more. Overall, Finn is a total sweetheart who loves his family and his dog sooo much (between him and Chloe, there's a lot of love).

Onto the romance... the pacing of Chloe and Finn's relationship was well done and the instant connection mentioned in the blurb was so real. My favourite part is the fact that you could see Finn falling in love with Chloe every single time she talked baseball. It made me smile and laugh so much.
This was looking to be such a solid book that I was excited to see how the drama would come in and, I hate to say it, but I was very disappointed that it was a predictable misunderstanding. The way it was handled was definitely better than other books, though.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read that I definitely recommend. There were also some lovable secondary characters and I'm looking forward to reading the brothers' books. I'm expecting good things from this author!

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC, provided in exchange for an honest review.

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: HEARTTHROB is the first instalment in Robin Bielman’s contemporary, adult AMERICAN ROYALTY romance series focusing on the Auprince brothers. This is MLB center fielder Finn Auprince, and social media manager Chloe Conrad’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Finn and Chloe) HEARTTHROB follows the building relationship between MLB center fielder Finn Auprince, and social media manager Chloe Conrad. Finn Auprince broke his collarbone in the final game of the World Series costing the team the game and the championship. Struggling to move beyond the stigma of losing and the realization that his patience is straining thin, team management hires social media manager Chloe Conrad, in an effort to boost Finn’s online persona. What ensues is the building relationship between Chloe and Finn, and the potential fall-out as Chloe struggles with issues of trust in the face of recent events including Finn’s reputation with the fairer sex.

Chloe Conrad believes she is cursed. All of her relationships have ended when the men that she loves fall in love with someone else. Meeting Finn Auprince finds Chloe battling her attraction to a man who has the ability to destroy what’s left of her heart. Finn Auprince is the media darling of the MLB’s Landsharks, but recent events find our hero struggling to keep up social appearances. When the team hires Chloe Conrad, the attraction is immediate but Chloe’s recent history is too raw to move beyond professional and friendly. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Finn’s extended family including his brothers- restauranteur Ethan, and IT specialist Drew: their mother Liza Auprince, and their grandmother Rosemary; Team PR director Rena; as well as Chloe’s ex boyfriend Leo, her father Casey Conrad, and young baseball fans Josh and Jesse. Ethan’s story line is next in SWEET TALKER.

HEARTTHROB is a story of family, friendship, relationships and love. The premise is spirited and spicy; the characters are sexy and sassy; the romance is seductive and captivating. A great start to a wonderful series.

Fun, flirty, cute, and very entertaining, this is a great introduction to American Royalty and the Auprince family. Finn Auprince is MLB’s golden boy. He’s worked hard and long to reach that status and he’s not about to give it up. Then Chloe comes crashing into his life. Literally. Chloe is coming out of a bad breakup and has officially sworn off men. That’s great because Finn isn’t about to be distracted with a relationship that will take time and concentration away from baseball. You know the song and dance from here. But, what you don’t know is exactly how they get there and the fun along the way.

While Finn and Chloe are the main characters, Grandma Rosemary is definitely the show-stealer. Finn’s brothers, Ethan and Drew, are not far behind. This is a sweet and spicy, fearless and feisty, humorous and heartfelt story all rolled into one Hallmark type package (with a little more graphic detail). You’ll love spending time with the Auprince brothers!
