Lost

Rate this book
A sexy, moody, broody mountain man who only wants his solitude. A city woman trying to find herself in the backwoods. One horrible rock slide that leaves the two strangers stuck together...whether they want to be or not.

I've been holed up in my crappy, one room cabin in the back country of Colorado for so long that I'm basically not even human anymore. And I'm not here because I have to be. I'm not some crazy prepper who thinks the apocalypse is coming, and I'm not running from the law.

I'm just an artist who gets lost in the creation of my wood sculptures, and I'm alone because I like it this way. I do my best work when I'm separated from the rest of the world And for the most part, people suck, and there isn't anybody back in civilization who will ever notice that I'm not there anyway.

I'm so far off the beaten path that it's rare for me to see another human at all, and I'm perfectly fine with that...until Keeley Norton comes crashing into my solitary life--literally.

It isn't like I really want to rescue the woman and haul her back to my cabin. But I can't leave her on the side of the mountain injured, either. I might be a surly jerk, but even I can't be that heartless.

Basically, I'm screwed in more ways than one.

Luckily, she only has to be stuck with me for a few days. I can handle that, right? Even if I don't want her in my cabin, what can happen in forty-eight hours?

Problem is, I didn't count on the way she makes me feel every time I look into her sexy, smoldering dark eyes. All I really want to do is nail her. Against the wall. Bent over my rickety table. Any time or any place is fine with me. And believe me, I fantasize about every single location as the hours tick by.

My plan is to just ignore her until she can get back to her own place, but that idea isn't working out so well.

Turns out, Keeley isn't a woman who is easily ignored.

She's beautiful.

She's sexy.

She's smart.

She's chatty -- which really should drive me crazy since I'm a guy of few words, but it grows on me.

She's kind and not the type to judge -- even though she's a smart-mouthed city woman who doesn't have a clue how to survive in the backwoods.

All in all, Keeley is way more dangerous to me than any four-legged predator in the woods.

Simply put, she's exactly the kind of woman I need to avoid.

And I try to keep my distance. I want to keep my secrets to myself, and the last thing I want is to be painfully pried open by a female who will be gone in a matter of a few days.

I'm a master at avoiding complications, but Keeley is an unholy temptation that even a hardened loner like me might not be able to resist...

I've loved all Lane parker's books but this one was a cut above the rest.

Filled with chemistry, lust, emotional confusion and turmoil.
I wasn't sure where the story would go, but loved the direction it took.
James and keeley have such different lives but when the come together nothing else matters.
A wonderful, steamy story set in the Rockies.
I hope for more like this.

I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Parker has quickly become a favorite of mine. Each time I think I have characters all figured out, there is always a twist to keep me on my toes and jump start my heart. There's a depth that goes beyond the sexual and targets the emotional. James and Keeley prove that opposites have the deepest connection. Lost is a battle of hearts that I'd gladly escape into again and again.

James is a recluse, an artist that lives alone in the mountains away from everyone. He likes living that way, no one to bother him. It's just him and his carvings.

Keeley has come to Colorado to "find" herself and have a quiet vacation away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.

She stumbles upon James when she gets sidetracked going for a walk in the woods. James sends her in the direction of the trail leading to the road. He doesn't really want to be bothered by anyone much less the beautiful woman who has stumbled upon his sanctuary in the woods.

Then he starts to feel bad just sending her on her way only to end up saving her when there is a rock slide where she ends up hurt. He takes her to his cabin where they end up stuck together until the road clears from him to get her back to her cabin.

They have lots of chemistry, can they be friends and endure each other's company until the road is cleared. Can Keeley teach James to trust and give his heart to someone again. Someone he loved once broke his heart. Can Keeley find herself on the side of a mountain with a recluse?

This is such a captivating story!
I truly enjoyed reading it!
It's a moving, sexy & heartfelt book.
James, lives in an out of the way cabin,
in the mountains of Aspen. He is an
artist, that sculpts with wood. James, likes
being secluded from everyone.
That is till a beautiful stranger, appears out of nowhere. Lost in the woods, Keeley, had gone out for a walk & got turned around. Along the way,
she came across James. Now he
needs to send her on her way, quickly.
James & Keeley, steal your heart
from the very first pages to the last.
I loved everything about this Must
Read Story!!

This book is a nice read on a summer day. It is a classical Lane Parker book, but with a twist. All of Lane's books move at a lightning speed in the romance department but I found this book a little slower than the others, which is not a bad thing. It is just different. In this book I found James a lot different than Ian (in Dearest Stalker) but Keeley was a badass and independent just like most of the other heroines of J.S Scott/Lane Parker, which I absolutely love. James is a total mountain man and Keeley is a California girl so it was very fun to see these two willed souls get together. It is a great book and I would 100% recommend it. :)
Can't wait for Ben's story! ;)

He was LOST and now he’s found❣️

Keeley decides to step away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and goes on vacation in the Colorado mountains. Finding herself completely LOST, she curses her decisions in coming to this place even though she has a map and a compass. When she discovers a beautiful, sexy mountain man..he gives her directions to get off the mountain safely.

James cannot believe he just gave her directions and is convinced she’s going to get even more LOST, so he follows her and saves her life when the unexpected happens. James has been on his own for years and doesn’t really want anyone around but finds the more he’s around Keeley, the more he likes her in his space. She makes him feel more alive and not so LOST😁

This was a really sweet story:) I liked how James and Keeley had such chemistry from the beginning and how they both had their own set of issues that they talked about together. Thank you to Booksprout and Lane Parker/J.S. Scott for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review.

Beautiful story about finding inner peace. Overworked and stressed production manager Keeley went to vacation into Rocky Mountains. Lost in thoughs she lost herself. And then she get caught in stone avalanche. Luckily she is rescued by unpleasant and grumpy sculpture James, who isolated himself from civilisation and the most annoying bugs - people. He lives alone in woods and he doesn´t want company. But because of the avalanche, he can not get rid of his new responcibility Keeley. Can they overcome their past and find their happily ever after.
I really like how the author once again warn us against domestic violence and showes us that we cannot help that victim, that doesn´t want to. But if we are ther for them, some day, they may reach to us for help.

James is a recluse. He lives in a cabin high in the woods and devotes himself to his carving. He’s an artist and has a hard time relating to others. When he saved Keeley’s life after a rockslide he’s got nowhere else to take her except back to his cabin. Can they coexist in a tiny space until the road is cleared?

I really enjoyed this story. It did a very good job of showing that there’s more than one type of loneliness. You can feel just as alone and isolated in a crowded city like L.A. As you can in a secluded cabin in the woods. It’s not really about how many people are around it, what actually matters is who is around you.

I love this book. The characters were amazing. The story is entertaining. I am in love with James!! The love scenes were hot hot hot! I want a mountain man/artist! I want to tell you all about the book but I can't do it justice. One if my favorite things about the book is that the characters are mature enough to communicate. No beating around the bush. No assuming they know what the other is thinking. Two adults that say what they mean and mean what they say. Love it.

Perhaps because I've read quite a few different mountain men reads (and absolutely love them) I find myself disappointed and wishing I hadn't one-clicked this one?

At best this was very average; at worst, boring.
Just overall... meh, really.
Oh well, can't win them all.

LA city girl Kelley gets lost in the mountains of Colorado while on a self discovery break. James, loner, mountain man is gruff and rude and sends her away. Until James has to save Keeley’s life...... then all bets are off.

James is a dark and brooding, loner artist, character who doesn’t think he deserves to be around people and is scared of how he will act around people based on an event in his past. Kelley’s life revolves around constant interaction with people and she can’t enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains until a near death experience where James saves her life.

The story line follows the intense, spontaneous and deep relationship that is forged between two opposites in the Colorado Rockies. A definite must read. Intense, great character development and they get their happy ever after while both resolving the issues that plagued them before becoming a couple..

Keeley Norton gets lost and then gets hurt while walking some mountain trails. James comes to her rescue, saving her from serious injury or worse. The rock landslide that injured Keeley has them both unable to do anything but return to his cabin until the roads are cleared. James doesn’t want her there anymore than she wants to be but they spend the time together getting to know each other.

Strong alpha men and the women who love them is what this author does best. Lost is a enjoyable story about two people who are at a crossroads as to what they really want in life and along the way they find each other. This author never disappoints!

I love J. S. Scott’s books but wasn’t sure how I would like her new writings under the pseudonym of Lane Parker. I shouldn’t have worried, I enjoyed this story of James and Keeley as much as all of her other works. I was concerned that Keeley would be the “typical” spoiled city girl, but to my surprise, she had more depth and was more perceptive than I gave her credit for. After hearing about James’ backstory, the reason that he became a hermit was understandable. This was an easy and sexy read. I’m looking forward to reading more of her stories.

I now know why she does this under the Lane Parker name. This book is nothing like she’s ever written. Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just different. Most of her other books are about billionaires and this totally is different. Not to give anything away but this guy lives in the woods. If you love Lonely Mountain men this book is for you.

Lost is a sweet story with a bit of steam. While Keeley and James struggle to find themselves, they find each other. Just the right amount of tension and heat with a HEA.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Keeley and James. Both are in the Colorado mountains but for different reasons. James is basically hiding out from the world. He spends his time sculpting and when he needs company he goes to Aspen. So when a woman wanders out of the woods he can't believe his eyes. At first all he wants is her gone but when they are forced to spend time together after a rock slide he knows there is more to it. Keeley is in the mountains because he didn't want to be to far away from her job. She knows she needs a break by if she does what her friend did she would be out where no one could get to her. However after getting lost in the woods she is beginning to rethink that decision. When she survives a rocks slide with the help of a mountain man she literally walked out of the woods and met she knows there has to be more. Can these two find that they could be each other's HEA or will they chalk it up to that one time they met in the woods?

This is an amazing story from this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Lost can be read as a standalone book.

Keeley left behind her constantly demanding and stressful job in L.A. as a movie production manager for some quiet retreat in the Colorado mountains. Too bad she is going stir crazy on day two and managed to get lost from her rental and then injured in a rock slide that closed the only route to town.

James is a wood carver and artist. He left the big city to live alone in self imposed isolation after an incident with his sister. He won't forgive himself for what happened and doesn't want Keeley on his property when she turns up lost. He does feel the need to check on her safety and because of the rock slide it is good that he did. With no choice but to help her back at his own cabin, until the roads are cleared, he brings Keeley home.

Can these two learn to trust each other as strangers forced into the same small space? As they grow closer can they overcome their differences for a shared relationship? Many turns and twists as they find their way to their future.

City girl Keeley gets lost in the mountains of Colorado. She crosses paths with James, who is working outside his cabin. He directs to correct path. Luckily for her when she was caught in a rock slide he was nearby and was able to rescue her.

Now what are two people going to do now that they are stuck together until the paths/roads are clear... James is very uneasy around Keeley as he doesn't feel he deserves to be around other people because of his past. Keeley has been very unhappy in her life for several years and is in Colorado hoping to get some guidance.

The more they are together the more they open up. Keeley helps James realize that he is a good man. That what he did in the past was done to protect, it wasn't bad. She also realizes that she's supposed to be where she is right now to find the peace she needs. That just being around James settles her.

But with their two different life styles and with James living in Colorado and her in LA how will they make a long term relationship work.

I loved this story. It really pulled me in.

This is Lost: A Mountain Man Rescue Romance written by Lane Parker/JS.Scott. Trust me when I tell you that JS Scott writing as Lane Parker is an amazing writer. The stories are original and well thought out with characters that you will be able to think of with lots of fondness. Keeley stumbles across James when she is lost in the woods. Getting lost may scare some people, but it’s the best mistake she could make, well except for one little issue. You should read it to find out for yourself!

Lost by Parker is another great read.
James is a loner in the mountains all by himself. He likes his privacy and also just likes to be alone to do his work..carving. Along comes Keeley this city girl escaping her world. She needs to prove to herself that she can survive in the quiet.
When they bump into each other by accident it is not a good thing. She is lost and he is irritated that she is in his space. He gives her directions to get her on her way and out of his quiet world. When James realizes that Keeley's map skills are lacking, he takes off after her to make sure she is okay, only to find out that she is in trouble. Unable to walk away he helps her and they end up "stuck" together for at least 2 days. Will they be able to handle it? Or will their chemistry win and break down their walls? This book kept me interested from the beginning and I'm looking forward the more from Parker.

Breathtaking

I have read many of the stories by this author and I have to admit this was one of my favorites. I am still feeling the emotional pull of this story even after I am done reading it. This is the type of book that makes you realize what a book hangover feels like.

As you read through the story you can feel the emotions coming off of each character. With all the details you feel like you are in the room with James and Keeley. Almost feel like you are in the characters place. You want to hug and hold James as you hear about his life.

This is a very emotional story and you will get lost in the pages and want to continue to read until you are done. I truly loved this book.

Until Next Time... Tabi

I loved this book from page one! The story of James and Keeley is one of my favorites. Hiding away from the world because he believes he has committed an unforgivable deed in the eyes of the person who means the most to him, his sister, James believes he is incapable and unworthy of love and companionship. Completely by mistake, Keeley gets lost and find herself stranded with James and they are forced to get to know one another. Slowly, both of them let down their walls and find that neither are what the other believes them to be. This story is an amazing reminder to not judge a book by its cover and love can always be found when you stop looking. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

**SPOILER** (I think)

I didn’t know what to expect going into this, but Lane Parker has done it again. Keely and James started out not fond of each other, and stuck in a cabin together for a few days, because of a rock slide. They started to develop feeling for each other after a few hours and then by the time the roads were cleared, they were smitten. Even tho Keely lived in Hollywood and James lived in The Rockies, they knew they would make it work, and they did. I loved it!!! Can’t wait to read your next story. Thank you!!
