Paletas is a spanish word for frozen treats. They are the same as ice pops.

Paletas are everyone’s favorite summer treat right?? Kids especially love them.

I love the fact that when I make them at home I know exactly what’s in them and can control the amount of sugar in them.

I try really hard to limit the amount of sugar my kids consume.

My family is crazy obsessed with paletas.

We used to always buy store bought ice pops but now we have fun making our own!

Some of our favorite flavors are Tamarind, strawberry and arroz con leche.

Since mango seems to be the one that is most requested in my home today I’m going to share my delicious, healthy, refreshing and inexpensive recipe for mango paletas!

Mango is definitely my favorite flavor ever! I love mangos and never get tired them.

It would be so nice to live in a place where I could eat them year round.

I like to add chile en polvo to my paletas.

The mango paletas in this photo only have 1 tsp of chile.

I honestly could have used more chile since I like them a little actually a lot more spicy.

However if you’re sensitive to spice you could always omit the chile.

They will still be super delicious!

paletas or ice pops are everyone's favorite summer treat. Try these delicious mango paletas. They're cheap, healthy and yummy!

The chile I use is from the brand Mi Costenita.

It’s my favorite and I very much prefer it over Tajin.

However many people also use Tajin so either one will work fine.

I also added a little bit of sugar to mine.

However this is totally up to you.

You may not even need the sugar depending on how sweet the mangos are.

So give the mango puree a taste first.

Mango paletas are so easy to make.

It’s pretty hard to make a bad one so don’t be afraid to experiment!

Sometimes after I make arroz con leche I use the leftovers to make arroz con leche paletas.

Mixed fruit and yogurt are another delicious combination for paletas.

You see the possibilities are endless so get creative!

Paletas are a wonderful way to use up ripe fruit before it goes bad.

I absolutely hate throwing away fruit or any kind of food for that matter.

I can’t stand wasting food.
