Hi ,
This week saw the closure of two major members of the Linux community.
After over 20 years in publication, Linux Journal has ceased its publication completely.
OS Disc was a small business selling Linux discs for very low margins for past 16 years. They have also announced the discontinuation of their services.
I am sad to see them shutting down but there is little anyone can do in that matter :(
Coming back to the new article on It's FOSS, there is a new release of LiVES video editor bringing lots of improvements.
Ubuntu 18.04.3 has been released and you can get Linux Kernel 5.0 with it now.
I also wrote about reinstalling Ubuntu as it was requested by a reader.
If you use Linux in a virtual machine, using Virtual Box Guest Additions will give you a better experience.
There is a new Arch-based distribution called EndeavourOS. Have a look at it and see what it has to offer.
In the app highlight of the week, you may have a look at Clementine music player.
For career aspirants, Linux Foundation is offering Cloud Native training and certification bundle at 70% discount. Couple it with FOSS16 coupon code and you get 16% additional off.
The bundle consists of topics like containers, Fluentd, Prometheus and Kubernetes. More details can be found here.
That's it for this week. Enjoy Linuxing :)
