OMG....

OMG/WOW is all I can say, this book definitely kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns! I didn't manage to predict the ending, I have bitten my nails with all the tension!

Devoured this in one sitting and couldn't put it down. If you love an intense love story with a slow burn, you will love this book (just make sure you read part 1 first!)

So much sadness and happiness in one book. I really can't get over how intense some parts were, hanging on the edge of my seat... literally!!

I'm so glad we got to know how Tyler and Gemma's story has ended, not forgetting her dad Jerry! I also loved how Maddie and Liam were also included again in this book too, their friendship with Tyler is literal GOALS!

This book perfectly sets up the new book in the series Pushing You Away - I can't wait to read it! How will Noah get back on Katie's good side? And I am dying to know more details of what happened between Noah and Gabe.

Well done Kennedy Fox, you've just made this book and series my new favourite of yours!

This was a great conclusion to Gemma and Tyler’s story! Filled with emotion, angst, romance and a great storyline. After reading book 1, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen in book 2. Gemma and Tyler make a great pair and they are one of my favorite Kennedy Fox couples! Second chance romances are always so heartwarming and this was is no exception. Highly recommend this duet and I’m very excited for the next duets to come❤️

Back in the world of small town romances with a twist, back with Gemma and Tyler – finally! I’ve loved this world centering on ex-cons finding their second chances from the start, but I’ve loved its characters even more. I was fully invested in everything Gemma and Tyler, rooting for them to find happiness with each other. And while their ride wasn’t as wild and angst filled as other Kennedy Fox stories, I was engrossed from beginning to end. These two might just have stolen my heart with their well-written, slowly building love story that started so many moons ago. Sigh.

Multilayered, multidimensional characters, deeply emotional plots – that’s what I’ve come to love and expected from books by this author duo. Their characters always feel believable, relatable and real, like I could meet them in real life and actually become friends with them – and I adore that!

You might always know the outcome, the end result of a book like this one, but you’ll never be able to predict the bumps and roadblocks, the twists and turns to overcome for the couple to get there. There was actually a point in this book I began doubting if Tyler would really get his girl. That’s the kind of romance I live for and the reason while I’ll always come back for more from this particular author.

This story ... this couple ... these people ... these authors ... just wow .

I feel like a broken record saying this, but Kennedy Fox just does not disappoint. The depth and layers to their books is outstanding. I never feel like I’m reading a superficial story. They mirror real life situations with relatable and believable characters. It is always a phenomenal reading experience.

I was already fully invested in the success of Tyler and Gemma going into this book. I already loved them beyond reason. They were already settled very comfortably in my heart. Despite all of that, this author duo still had me on the edge of my seat completely enraptured at every turn! Their journey was completely unexpected in the best of ways. I live for these types of stories where I am absolutely certain of the end result but getting to it is one surprise after another. Well done once again ladies!!

What a great wrap up for Tyler and Gemma! Watching them fight for their love, I was on the edge almost the whole time LOL Seriously, it was an amazing story :)

Keep in mind, you REALLY need to read the first book in their story because this picks up right where the first one left off.

Kennedy Fox never ever disappoint. I had no idea what I was in for in Tyler's story, I just wanted him to get the happy ending he deserved and he got it. And they way he got it, fighting for it made it even more special.

We knew from Liam & Maddie's duet that he would still face the problem of Victoria and boy I was so scared that he would do something stupid and get in trouble again but the way these two ladies worked that 'revenge' plot was fantastic and that Vitch got some poetic justice. Rotten to the core, she had a taste of her own poison. I loved it!

But Victoria wasn't the only problem Tyler and Gemma had to face. Gemma's fiancé didn't just make their second chance forbidden, he made their lives a bit of a living hell. Robert almost posed a bigger threat than Victoria and to be honest, I think I disliked him more than her. He was an awful human big and he didn't have the excuse of being born into a mob world. Even in regards to the Robert situation, these ladies managed to surprise me plot wise. They have become the masters at making me believe sh*t and giving me a heart attack. Not cool but also awesome lol. If you've read it you know exactly what I'm talking about. That freaking scene took the cake in this book. It was brilliant.

I just really enjoyed this book and new world. I freaking adore Katie and Everleigh and even Ruby. I am already soooo excited for Noah and I can't wait to get inside his head and see him fight for a relationship with Katie and her son. It's bound to be a good one. But I am even more excited for Everleigh to get her own happily ever after. I am also super excited to meet her hero, we got his name in the info of the duet on GR but I don't believe we have met him yet.

And I obvioulsy adore seeing Liam and Maddie. That last scene where they finally got to meet Gemma was the best. I would also love to see Maddie meet Everleigh in person. I hope these two visit Lawton Ridge in the future and we get to see them meet everyone else.

Needing You Close was an amazing conclusion to Tyler and Gemma's story. You still get a little slow burn, tons and tons of angst and lots of emotional scenes. We get wondeful friendship moments, more beautiful letters that showcase the amazing love story between these two. We see justice being served in more ways then one and as always we get glimpses into the next duet. These two share a beautiful, emotional story and a love that was destined from the beginning. I can't wait to get more glimpses of them in the other two duets.

⭐️ 5 "Listen To Your Heart" Stars ⭐️
Needing You Close concluded the Tyler and Gemma Duet in the most perfect way! I needed this book so badly after the startling ending of Keeping You Away that left me with lots of questions! This second book was so romantic and kept me on the edge of my seat from the unexpected events happening. I just couldn’t get enough of this charming couple and their effortless connection building into a strong amorous relationship.

I was quickly enamored with Tyler after meeting him in the Liam & Madelyn Duet. There was just something magnetic about his engaging personality that called to me. This crush was only reinforce in the present duet where he demonstrates how devoted to the woman of his dreams he is. He’s the epitome of alpha yet attentive, sweet and protective! Our heroine, Gemma, is also fantastic. After having doubts and insecurities to fight against in book one, she’s finally listening to her heart and not her head. Her interactions with Tyler are so beautiful and charged with a searing passion!

Their second chance isn’t all hearts and flowers though! Gemma’s ex-fiancé brings his load of outrageous surprises along the way. Let’s just say that he didn’t take the breakup smoothly! With games of manipulations and scheming tactics, he tries to control Gemma and Tyler’s future! The drama it creates only made me hooked on the novel even more!

I can never get enough of Kennedy Fox’s novels that are delightful and deliver incredibly alluring supporting cast. Everleigh, Ruby, Jerry, Katie and Noah all brought a titillating aspect to Needing You Close! Talking about those fantastic secondary characters, I’m so ready for Noah and Katie’s duet now! I feel their story will be angsty and full of ups and downs! Bonus: I'll get more of Tyler and Gemma!

This book was amazing! So many surprises I didn't see coming! So many emotions! One moment I was giddy and happy and the next I was like WTF! I wasn't sure what I was reading! Kennedy Fox hit it out of the park with this one. I couldn't put it down. It was perfect!

We definitely had quite the shocker of a surprise at the end of book one, Keeping You Away. While it wasn’t quite as anxiety inducing as some of the other duets I’ve read by this author, it definitely had me eagerly awaiting book two. And as I read this one, I kept waiting to see what those people you knew just weren’t done being the bad guys were going to do.

Without giving anything away I have to say that there were some twists and turns in this one that I totally did not see coming! The story kept you guessing and when you find out what has really happened, it’s like bam! You’re smiling, you’re so glad how everything was able to work out in the end. And it wasn’t just the love story that got wrapped up. There were pieces from Liam and Maddie’s story as well we got to see all wrapped up as neat as can be. But man, Gemma’s ex-fiancee was really a piece of work. I know that next we’ll probably be getting Gemma’s brother Noah’s story, and I’m definitely eager for that. Getting chances to kind of meet him in this book, as well as the introduction to his story at the end was perfect.

Now, I will admit the end of this dragged out a tiny bit for me, and so I did mark it down to a 4.5 on my blog for that, but will round it up everywhere I am unable to give half star ratings, because the issue I had may not be something everyone else notices.

Needing You Close is the conclusion to Gemma and Tyler’s duet in Kennedy Fox’s brand new Ex-Con Duet series. This book should be read after reading Keeping You Close. Needing You Close is not a standalone and picks up right where Keeping You Close leaves off.

Because this is the conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s duet, I decided not to go in-depth with the story line portion of my review in order to avoid all spoilers. I’m going to skip straight to what I thought about the novel.

I have been waiting to get my hands on this book ever since I finished the first book in Tyler and Gemma’s duet. I needed answers especially after a certain person decided to show her face once again. I legit felt my heart fall to the floor with that final chapter…. I needed this book! I needed their conclusion mainly because I had so many questions. Now that Gemma and Tyler’s duet has come to a close, I’m finding myself sitting here with a mixed array of emotions. These two literally sparked a spot inside my heart.

Tyler is still getting used to being back home with his sister, his first love, and a gossiping town where everybody knows his business. He’s still his swoony, ego stricken self. He still has a heart of gold and the protective instinct when it comes to Gemma.

Gemma was a bit more flighty in this novel. I loved the moments she spent with Tyler… but everything else had me wanting to shake this character so damn bad! I wanted her to woman up and open her eyes to all the wonderful things standing in front of her. I felt at times her character was meant to show strength…. But that strength would dissipate after a few chapters, before revealing itself once again. Her character was a bit wishy washy for my liking.

A 3.5 star rating is a tad bit low for what I usually rate a Kennedy Fox novel. I loved the romance between Tyler and Gemma…. But the rest of the story felt a bit predictable and I can honestly say I predicted this one from start to finish. I needed more of the suspense and more mysterious vibes. So while I loved the romance and the smoldering sexy as sin scenes between Tyler and Gemma…. It wasn’t enough to push my rating up to a 4 star.

Overall, Keeping You Close was an okay read.I loved the romance and I liked the storyline. I wanted love all across the board, but as I have come to learn, it’s simply impossible to love everything an author puts out into the world.

In the end, I can’t wait for Noah and Katie’s story!!!! This one is going to be just as sweet as it’s going to be sexy. I can feel a serious scandal in the air with these two!!!!

Needing You Close is Book 2 in the Tyler & Gemma Duet. *This duet must be listened to in order.

The ending of Keeping You away left me chomping at the bit and guessing where Book 2, Needing You Close, would take us readers/listeners. Whatever I could have possibly conjured up in my head couldn’t come close to the emotional roller coaster Kennedy Fox took me in the concluding book of this duet.

Needing You Close had me on pins and needles the whole book waiting/wanting/wishing for Tyler and Gemma to get the HEA they deserved. They had a long, tough road and it seemed that any time I thought true love was going to prevail—here comes another wrench in their plans. Seriously, these two could not catch a break.

I must admit that for a small part of the book I was ready to throw anything within a few feet radius of me at the wall. Without giving too much away, I thought in my head SURELY KF would never do me like that. SURELY NOT! Of course, I never should have doubted KF. After all, they’ve never let me down before. Let me just say PLOT TWIST! It’s one thing I love most about this duo, they always keep me on my toes.

Even though at times it seemed down right impossible, Tyler and Gemma finally got the HEA that they fought so hard for and ever so badly deserved! I’m so excited for the next couple’s story in the Ex-Cons series (Noah & Katie)! What makes it even better is that we’ll get to see more of Tyler and Gemma (as secondary characters) in the next duet. It’s basically like having a bonus extended epilogue!

Lia Langola and Tor Thom did just as great bringing Gemma and Tyler’s characters to life in Book 2 as they did in Book 1.

4.5 Star Needing You Close (Ex-Con Duet #2) by Kennedy Fox

Firstly if you have not read Keeping You Away then STOP. You must read that book before reading Needing You Close.

This is the continuation of Tyler and Gemma’s story and it was everything I hope for and so much more. Kennedy Fox drew me in and kept me invested from the first to the last chapter.

This is a love story that built slowly, with some angst and was well written. Despite themselves Tyler and Gemma have tried to stay from one another, however when Gemma’s fiance turns out to be not who she thought, it is to Tyler that Gemma turns too.
As their feelings intensify, secrets will be revealed and lives turned upside down. Will Tyler and Gemma be able to bring down those who seek to destroy the second chance at love or will they be torn apart once and for all?

One click and find out.

Needing you close is finally out😍 I‘ve been waiting impatiently for the second part if Tyler and Gemma‘s story and Kennedy Fox did not disappoint!

In this part they are finally together but at what cost?
Victoria is back and not for good.

Tyler and Gemma are just so good together. You will understand once you read their story. They love eachother so deeply and to see what they would do for eachother is just amazing. Seeing more of their relationship and also more of the characters that will follow this book was really really good.

I definitely can‘t wait for the next book in this unique series.

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Kennedy Fox and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

Needing You Close
is the second book in the Tyler & Gemma Duet and continues the story of Tyler and Gemma.

Needing You Close is the second book I’ve read by Kennedy Fox and I liked it! I’m happy that both books in the duet are just a month apart because it was easier to remember the story. I’m someone that reads a lot of books so I occasionally forget a few things about the book I’ve read. I really liked Keeping You Away and I’m glad that I read Needing You Close. Tyler and Gemma finally got the ending they deserve.

I really liked Tyler and Gemma’s story because I haven’t really read an ex-convict romance yet (I think). I really liked the story in general and I loved reading about Tyler and Gemma. Tyler is such a good book boyfriend and I cannot get enough of him. I also like Gemma but Tyler is my favourite.

Needing You Close was a good book but I kind of liked the first book, Keeping You Away, more. Some things in this book seemed a little easy for the characters or seemed a bit rushed. But besides that, I really enjoyed reading Needing You Close. I really liked this duet and I cannot wait to read the other books in the Ex-Con Duet Series!

Better if you read Liam and Maddie duet in the roommate series first... If not, I don't know how you would understand a lot of references to Tyler's past, because the authors never explain them fully.
An ok read but I could not emphasize with Gemma... The end of the story is a hint to Noah and Katie story but I don't know if I am curious enough to continue...

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I never expected to see my first love again after he left me twelve years ago. Though I've moved on, working with Tyler is no easy task-especially when he focuses his bedroom yes on me. Flirting with the past is like playing with fire, and considering I'm engaged, I'm bound to get burned.
When the man I promised to marry reveals he's a wolf in sheep's clothing, I run to the safety of Tyler's arms. As we grow closer, so do our feelings. Threats and ultimatums are made, and the revelation of the truth is enough to bring me to my knees. I'll do whatever it takes to protect my family, even if it means shredding my heart. Too dangerous, too unpredictable, too risky to handle alone-we need each other now more than ever. After our world nearly collapses, there is nothing left to do but take it back. Tyler and I team up to destroy the people who are determined to ruin our second chance at a happily ever after. though our love is undeniable, I just hope it's enough. We'll fight until the end to be together-regardless of who tires to get in our way.

This is the second book in the Ex-Con Duet. You need to read Keeping You Away before you attempt to read Needing You Close. This is the first book in the series and you will fall in love with Tyler and Gemma there. I could not wait to get this second book in my hands and it was so worth the wait. This is a slow burn of a love story about two people who have been in love in the past and things have happened that have kept them apart. Now though they are working together and Gemma is about to have her entire world implode and the first person she is going to run to is Tyler. However this would make you think that they would fall right back to what they use to be but they don't and this is the entire slow burn of the book. I loved that they didn't just become that couple again and took their time to get to know the people they are now. This book will keep you one your toes. Shocking secrets will have you one the edge of your seat and the lives of these two turning upside down. Some are trying their very best to destroy the second chance these two so deserve and they are not going to let that happen. This book was so worth the wait and does not disappoint.

“T&G,” I whisper. “Forever.” “Forever,” she repeats. “I’d like that.”

Final part of the duet, Tyler and Gemma are back to end their stories. With the shocking revelation at the end of the previous book, we know that Victoria is back. To make matters worse, Robert is her ally. Tyler and Gemma's situation was further complicated.
When Robert does not accept the end of the engagement and blackmails Gemma, everything seems lost. And with Victoria ready to take revenge, Tyler's situation is also complicated. But a light at the end of the tunnel may appear and maybe they will be able to get rid of their tormentors.
With distressing moments, unexpected twists and lots of passion, the book ends the story of these two in a good way.
Gemma was a character that aroused contradictory emotions. Her lack of action and even a steady pulse in the situations of her life irritated me. She needs to learn to be stronger.
Tyler was once again the best in the book. His sister also stole the show.
With an introduction in the final part for a new duet, this little teaser captures the reader and leaves him interested in what is to come.
It will not be the last time that we will see these characters.

The conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s story was everything I could have hoped for and so much more. They didn’t have an easy path but they both deserved a happy ending. Needing You Close picks up where things left off in book one, Keeping You Away. Just like the first book this one is full of angsty, emotion, and drama. The slow burn is well worth the wait.

Tyler and Gemma have insane amounts of chemistry and you can feel that ooze off the pages when they are together. I can’t get enough of them. Tyler is protective, caring, 100% alpha male. Gemma is caring, she is fighter, protective of those she cares about. These two balance each other out perfectly. They heal each other. They work so perfectly together. Their relationship is full of ups and downs, however, they know that they can both rely on each other for support.

SO many unexpected things happened in this book. Things I NEVER would have guessed and at one point I’m pretty sure my jaw was on the floor. I loved getting some more of Liam and Maddie throughout the story, too. I love the relationship between Tyler and his sister. Plus, the friendship between Everleigh, Katie and Gemma.

Needing You Close is an angsty slow burn that is full of twists and turns. Tyler and Gemma’s story is a MUST READ!

4.5 small town romance with a twist stars!!

This is book two of the “Ex-Con Duet” series and can not be read as a stand alone. This is the continuation of Gemma and Tyler’s love story.

Wow I love the shit out of these characters. What I love even more is the small town and it’s characters. I can’t wait to dive in and learn more about them. This is everything you would find in a sweet small town romance but with a twist of assholes and conniving bitches... look somebody has to say it. Victoria and Robert straight up douche bags.

Tyler and Gemma are so sweet. Their romance started so many years ago and all you want is for them to be happy yet there is always a bump in the road. I really enjoyed some of their karma. I was a little worried Tyler wasn’t going to get the girl.

Everleigh is Tyler’s sister and she is awesome. I need her to find her happy ever after too because she cracks me the hell up. Really this whole book makes me laugh. It is funny, sexy, sweet, crazy, scary and all together a great weekend read.

I can not wait for Noah’s book. O. M. G. I don’t know if I will be able to handle all that 😋

Needing You Close is the conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s story. And just like we’ve all come to expect from Kennedy Fox - there was heat, swoon, and an amazing group of friends and family. They take you on a journey through twists and turns to a place where all hope for the hero and heroine ending up together is destroyed. Yet they find a way to redeem the characters and their circumstances in a way that leaves an impact way after the story is over.
I loved Tyler and Gemma. I loved his connection to Maddie and Liam. I loved their history together. I loved how even though they had been apart for many year, they still understood each other and remembered all the little things about the other. My favorite was seeing Gemma’s growth throughout both books. When the situation seemed impossible, she did what needed to be done. For herself and those she loved. Also, as much as I do NOT like angst, they write the best villains!! I’ve wanted to kill Victoria for the last four books AND Robert joined her for this duet!! I will not give away what happens with them, but I approve.
I can not wait for Katie and Noah’s story!!

The only issue I have with this author is this duets, its killing me waiting to read the next part, lol
But everything else, it just gets you hooked 😊

This conclusion to Gemma and Tyler’s story was spot on. It was filled with so much emotion and angst and don’t forget the romance. After the first part of their story I couldn’t wait for the next part. And it didn’t disappoint.

This book just made me so anxious. Having to deal with Victoria and Gemma’s ex-fiancé didn’t make this an easy journey. I wanted to hurt him so bad ☹ Lots of intrigue and manipulations and drama and scheming it just drove me mad, but it definitely made the story interesting. All in all I don’t have a complaint about this duet ended. Everything was just an amazing story.

From the drama to the supporting characters I don’t have one complaint. I am definitely a fan of these two authors

I have to say that the Lia Langola’s narration is growing on me 😊 Tor Thom is always a pleasure listening to ♥ 😊

The conclusion to this beautiful duet is beyond PERFECT. I can't say it enough -- these ladies know how to write an emotional romance with characters that you just adore!

Tyler and Gemma have been through so much, and you just *know* that they are supposed to be together. The chemistry between these two damn near set my kindle on fire, but I loved how much of a slow burn this was. They needed that time to really heal from both their past and present situations in order to be truly ready for one another.. And those twists!!! Just when you think you know what's going to happen, surprise, you don't! My heart is just so happy with how everything ended!!

I'm also that much more excited for Katie and Noah's duet as well! I NEED more asap!!
Is it too soon to bug these amazing ladies for more words? I don't think so!😉

Just remember this is book two in the duet, and you MUST read book one first!

If there was ever a story where the author(s) wished they could watch the readers as they read their story, this is it!

The conclusion to Tyler and Gemma's duet was filled with ups and downs and twists and turns.

There were times when I questioned the authors and yet they continued to surprise me. I won't go into detail because - gasp - spoilers. Trust me when I say this is one that needs to be read without having an inkling as to what is going to happen. Just know that everything you questioned from book one will be addressed and answered.

I know this story is about Tyler and Gemma but I am dying to know something. When are Everleigh and Maddie going to meet?!?! These two are so fun by themselves, imagine what they would be like together.

I loved this duet and also how the next two are forming. I can't wait to see how Noah and Katie's story plays out. Will it be an emotional read or will it be a hot and sassy one? Either way, I'm all here for it!

“I tried staying away, but I’m not wasting this second chance to be with her.”

Holy Mother of angst! Kennedy Fox killed it with this conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s story! After the ending of the previous book I knew that I can expect a good amount of drama, but Needing You Close is filled with so many unexpected twists and turns that my head is still spinning. This part of the duet is angsty, steamy, emotional and completely captivating!

Tyler is totally swoon-worthy, loyal and protective. He perfectly balances being alpha and kind-hearted. Gemma on the other hand is caring and loving. I just adore how they complement each other and how they care for one another. Their chemistry is off the charts and though they had many obstacles to overcome, their bond is so palpable that you as a reader just KNOW that they’ll fight for each other. The support they have for one another is so admirable! I love them together.

This book shed also more light on secondary characters. I love Gemma’s friendship with her girls and I cannot wait to see more of them in another books! And Maddie and Liam cameo almost made me cry. Gosh, I missed them!

The conclusion to Tyler & Gemma duet is a perfectly crafted slow burn that’s filled with angst, suspense and all the feels. Despite many ups and downs and even danger, these two finally got a happy ending and Kennedy Fox delivered it beautifully!

Whew! After the ending of Keeping You Away I knew there was going to be some intense moments. Kennedy Fox kept me turning the pages not knowing when or what would happen. I am thrilled with the end result for Tyler Blackwood and Gemma Reid, I couldn’t have guessed any of what actually happened!

Not gonna lie, I’m anxiously awaiting Noah and Katie but I might be more excited for Everleigh and Archer!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

My head is in jumble mess! There’s so many things I didn’t see coming... the twist and turns made me question one scenario but I agree... it make sense when in comes to that incident but the bigger twist is WOWZER! Damn! Yesss!

Well played Kennedy Fox, it was a slow on start on book 1 but Needing You Close is full of suspense and drama and extra.

Oh Tyler when they say patience is a virtue well young man....your understanding...self restraint...and determination is unquestionable.

Gemma my dear... who knew you are bold, fearless and loyal.

Daring. Unpredictable. Admiration.

It’s beautiful ending to Tyler and Gemma.

This picks up right where book 1 ends and I was shocked by how much happened. We all know Gemma and Tyler want each other but she is still engaged even if dude is a douche. I was super proud of Tyler several times. Watching there friendship grow and change the more they each go through in the story. I really like how his sister is her best friend but it just works. Robert knowing Victoria actuall6 didn't shock me but man do they honestly both give ya the creeps. I really enjoyed the ending and how it all worked out.
