From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a new deliciously dangerous alpha hero in The Fall of Legend, the first book in the brand new and utterly addictive Legend trilogy.

We come from two different worlds.
I’m from the streets. She might as well live in an ivory tower.
I made my living with my fists. I doubt she could even throw a punch.
Our paths never should have crossed.
We never should have met.
That doesn’t change the facts.
I would sell my soul to taste those red lips.
Fight the devil himself to hear her laugh.
Burn in hell to have a single night.
Scarlett Priest shouldn’t even know men like me exist, but sometimes temptation is stronger than will.
If this is how I go down, it’ll be worth every second of the fall.

Grown-Up MMA Version of Lady and the Tramp <3 You're gonna LOVE this book, y'all!
Let’s dive in and fall down the rabbit hole for a few moments…Meghan March has long been a fave of mine simply because I adore how complex and well-written her characters and story lines are. It’s like literary tiramisu and you know this Southern gal’s got a sweet tooth the size of Texas 🍰😏I read her Dirty Mafia duet back in early fall and fell head over heels in LOVE with Cannon Freeman. But, even as amazing as Cannon was, let’s talk about a teeny tiny blip on the DMD map. There was a quick mention of Gabriel Legend and as soon as he stepped onto the scene, I was immediately drawn to him. I’m talking moth-to-flame, Ross-to-Rachel, gravy-to-biscuit level attraction, y’all 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I jokingly mentioned on one of MM’s Legend teaser posts that this was like Lady and the Tramp 2.0 (can anyone say Letty and the Tramp?), but after reading The Fall of Legend, I am 110% convinced that deep down, this is the grown-up retelling of the classic tale of tails. (PS If Meghan March is reading this: I believe a sketti-and-meatball rendezvous is needed within the trilogy—pretty please 😉😍😁)If you take away the ruff and fluff, you could even draw parallels with another of my faves: Aladdin. A scrappy man with a red-hatted sidekick, an iron will to escape the bonds of his past and poverty, and a steely determination to win the heart of a princess who’s bored with the façade of her ivory-towered reality? Sound familiar? I rest my case, counselor. #TeamUnderdogForTheWinWhat’s my verdict on Book 1 of the Legend trilogy? The legendary KBR 6/5 improper fraction star rating for this TKO! The steam from Legend and Scarlett will scald you for sure. Good Lort… This couple! The slow burn in this book singed my soul and had me panting for more. When Queen Britney sings, “Gimme, gimme more,” she was talking about Gabe and Scarlett. (Seriously. Look at the lyrical footnotes. It’s reaaaaaally tiny, but totally there. In white ink. 😉)The backstories are rich and left me wanting more from the vault of storyteller’s secrets. Scarlett’s struggle with FOMO: Family Edition is so genuine and raw, and I felt every pang along with her as she recounted all the real-life riches her life could not yet afford. Gabriel, in all his broken splendor, was show-stopping and I couldn’t help but fall more in love with him, one page at a time, as he told me all the things he sacrificed to get to where he is now. I wanted to give that man the biggest hug, but I think that’s better left to a certain blonde-haired good luck charm or adorable Cane Corso. I firmly believe we’re gonna get to see our underdog use his fists of lightening and roar of thunder, fighting those who rob or plunder. I doubt it’ll be done in a cape, but one can always dream. Right?Getting to know the most important people in their lives was a wonderful treat and can’t wait to see more from them all (even if I want to tell a few of them: mindyourownbidness, ya nosy yentes!). Always well written, MM’s works are like a fine wine: her stories grow better with her age. 😊 All that’s missing now is a creative couple moniker to finish out this review 🤔 Thinking cap on 🧢 Creativity on simmer ♨ Hmmmmmmmm…Okay. How about…#PriestAndPauper? Nah. That’s a poor choice of words 😂#ScaBriel? Too rash? 😂😂😂 Get it? Yeah, that was lame-o.#Legentt? Ohhhhhhh! Getting some serious MC Hammer vibes now, y’all! “Too Legentt, Too Legentt quit!” Hey, it could catch fire 🔥👩‍🚒 Or not 💦DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC for my honest opinion and honestly, I can't get enough of Legend and CAN. NOT. WAIT for House of Scarlett!

Q: I would trade burning in he11 for a single night with her.

Meghan March has long been one of my favorite authors and I was so excited about the new Legend Trilogy. After reading the first book, The Fall of Legend, my anticipation for the remaining books in the trilogy—and let’s face it, my love for her words—just quadrupled. You see, Meghan March absolutely NEVER disappoints. And I do mean never. Regardless of where her storylines take readers, you can be assured that the journey is going to be angsty, sexy and supremely entertaining. And let me be clear, The Fall of Legend? It was all of that and so much more.

Q: I don’t know who Legend is to everyone else, but to me, he’s a beacon, drawing me in.

Over the years I’ve spent blogging, I’ve learned that Meghan’s work is one that I can depend on to capture my attention from the get-go and hold it until the final page has been turned. And even knowing this, I started reading The Fall of Legend at nearly midnight…and stayed up all night to finish the story. (The extra coffee necessary to survive the lack of sleep was well worth it!) Did I expect a cliffhanger? Absolutely! Meghan March is the Queen of the Cliffy for a reason…but regardless, this book was a nonstop ride leading me straight into heartache and putting my kindle in jeopardy the closer and closer I got to that final page. And boy, did I want to throw my kindle after I read that final sentence! Trust me, you’ll be poised on the brink too once you pick this up and get sucked in!!!! The storyline is one that captured my heart, just as it broke it. Gabriel Legend is a hero that will turn your brain to mush and your panties into a lake!😉 Scarlett Priest never stood a chance!

Q: Did I just put it out there to the world that I want this man? It wouldn’t be a lie. But that’s not something I would normally do. Not the perfectly polite Scarlett Priest.
    Except I just did.

The Fall of Legend offered readers an epic slow-burn romance with characters that will warm your heart and a storyline that was incredibly original! Meghan March is a skilled storyteller who wrote a beautiful contemporary romance which is meticulously arranged to keep readers completely spellbound. The Fall of Legend sweep me away to NYC by an author who pens stories about cities with an amazing eye—Meghan truly accentuates the beautiful and glosses over the grimy—she depicted a city I’ve yet to travel and nevertheless, with the skill of her pen, creates a world that I feel exceedingly familiar with; it’s as if I’d lived there all my life. Legend and Scarlett are sure to entice anyone and combined? They make up a dynamic partnership that will long live on in the eyes of Meghan’s followers. While there is little that I can offer about the story itself to keep this review free of spoilers, I can say this is an excellent book to pick up if you are new to Meghan March’s work—or if you’re like me, a longtime fan and avid reader looking for your next five-star read. One-click now before The House of Scarlett releases so that you’re caught up and ready to dive in!

Q: Legend isn’t a normal man. I’ve seen what he can do. He’s capable of ending a cage match in just seconds with a dominant display of brutality and skill.

    Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

How do you know you’re reading a Meghan March romance?

A hot, broken, primal hero who lives in the gray area of morality
An intelligent, attractive heroine who saves the hero from himself
Plenty of plot twists and turns, moments of angst and heat meant to build your voracious appetite for story
A story that keeps you at the edge of your seat
A sensual, “fire on the page” chemistry between the hero and heroine
A cliffhanger that leaves you aching for more
And March’s newest book, the first of the Legend trilogy, The Fall of Legend, holds all these cards and more.

I love Scarlett. From her name to her style, she’s a heroine to emulate. She wants a messy life. How many romance heroines are driven to achieve that? Typically, their stories are wrapped up with a neat bow. Instead, March creates Scarlett with layers. At surface level, she appears put together, beautiful, iconic. However, Scarlett’s depth lies in her want for more, to be more than society’s perceptions of her. From her business to her home to her friends, Scarlett is a real person trapped in the life of a socialite. This dichotomy coupled with “daddy issues” often drives her to perfection. Yet, March allows us to see her true depth through her response to Legend and her insistence on pursuing the messy in life. Honestly, Scarlett’s character is the essence of this story.

Additionally, I love that Gabriel can’t help himself around Scarlett. He exists under her spell. There is nothing better than an alpha male hero who loses his control. It generally leads to the fireworks of the story. He’s caustic, a loner with a small group of friends because his past haunts him. This is a perfect storm for his undoing and his eventual renaissance in later books. And it will be glorious, but not quite yet. Something about Gabriel Legend gets under your skin, and he leaves a permanent mark.

Scarlet and Gabriel’s chemistry is palpable and electric. It jumps off the page like an electric current. And it’s clear from the beginning of the story. March uses this to create the tension of their romance. They struggle to be together, and the reader feels the profundity of their situation. To me, that’s fundamental to a romance where opposites attract. March could teach a master class in writing this type of chemistry because it belies all of her books. These two, Scarlett and Legend, are all need, want, and lust, and it is incredibly hot.

However, most important to this story, is its message that twines through Scarlett and Gabriel’s connection. It’s this message of living a messy life. On the outside, Scarlett’s life seems perfect, but it isn’t. She doesn’t bemoan that fact, though. Instead, she’s seeking after the “real” life. She recognizes the ability to complete this through Gabriel. It’s March’s reminder that the curated life on social media or in life doesn’t mean anything if we’re not “living” it fully. In our society and time, it’s an important message to consider. This message is the power that drives this particular story, and I cannot wait for its revelation and resolution in the next two books of the series.

This is what I know. You can count on Meghan March’s books to grab your heart, heat your blood, and keep you coming back for more. The Fall of Legend is this type of book. Just be ready to wait a bit for Scarlett and Gabriel Legend to find their happy ending. You won’t have to wait long, but you’ll be anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Meghan March was one of the authors that made me a fan of audiobooks and The Fall of Legend is the perfect example as to why! Between her ability to create tension, chemistry, and characters that you just want to know more about and narrators like Erin Mallon and Joe Arden who really bring her words to life - I practically listened to this book in one sitting (it would've literally been one sitting had I not succumbed to sleep). I'm really impressed with the forethought it took to introduce us to Legend in the Dirty Mafia duet and I'm so excited to get to know more about him as this trilogy progresses. I also really like Scarlett and her friend group and I can see so many threads of a bigger story coming in to play. I even really enjoy the little throwbacks to previous series (like the Seven Sinners whiskey that Scarlett and Legend like to imbibe. Knowing that this is a trilogy prepared me for a cliffhanger ending, but honestly this one was a bit milder than some that we've been dealt in the past (hello Black Sheep), and I'm not mad about it. I can't wait to see what drama and heat and backstories are revealed in The House of Scarlett and I know I'll be chomping at the bits from The Fight For Forever! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

3.0 out of 5 stars Très lent et peu intéressant
Reviewed in France on August 14, 2020
« I want her, I shouldn’t want her, I can’t have her, I won’t have her”. Il répète cela de page en page et c’est lassant. Cela traîne beaucoup en longueur. Vers la fin, l’histoire s’anime enfin un peu ce qui me console d’avoir acheté la trilogie.

The story flowed a lot easier than some other books. There was a lot of intrigue from the start and you want to cheer for the lead characters.
The only downside is I have to wait until December for the next book and then Jan for the 3rd.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Scarlett Legend
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 24, 2019
What an exceptional man he is, Legend by name, legend by nature, legend by need, legend by history, and legend by character. One the reader cannot, will not forget. He has history. The wrong sort. He has needs, desires and attitude. He has a dog called Roux, whom he adores and a friend called Bump. Who tries to help put a desperate situation, enter Scarlett. A rich girl, with a dreadful boyfriend and even worse uncaring father. She has influence and rich friends, who are loyal , sincere and very interesting. I have no intentions of running the plot, but all of the fore mentioned makes for a phenomenal novel. Full of everything a good romantic novel should be. The reader is left wanting as ever, with this very talented author. Her books are always well written, and edited. They are descriptive to the point that you can smell the coffee, eat the burnt pancakes and stroke the friendly but faithful dog. There is a cliffhanger and a little time to wait for book two and then three, but perfection is always worth the patience of desire.
