House of Scarlett (Legend Trilogy Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,229 ratings

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March continues the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy in House of Scarlett.

Gabriel Legend is unlike any other man I’ve ever met.

He came into my life like a hurricane, shattering all my assumptions and preconceived notions.

I wasn’t prepared for him. I wasn’t prepared for any of it.

But life doesn’t wait until you’re ready.
Whatever happens next, I know one thing for certain.

I will never be the same Scarlett I was before I met him.

House of Scarlett is the second book in the Legend Trilogy and should be read after The Fall of Legend, book one in the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy.

Continuation of the epic saga between Scarlett & Legend <3

Continuation of the epic saga between Scarlett & Legend <3
Book 2 of the Legend Trilogy dethroned my favorite Meghan March alpha Cannon Freeman (although, I was jumping up and down at his cameo) and solidified Gabriel Legend as my new #1 M² male lead. Period. And that's saying something because the Dirty Mafia Duet was EVERYTHING to me!House of Scarlett continues where we left off at the end of Fall: a cliffhanger that made me want to punch Legend right in his perfectly imperfect face. The beginning of this book, though? If you can read this without a tissue, I don't know if you have a soul. Gaaaaaaaaah! It's so insightful as to why Legend is the man he is today—muddied reputation, psychological damage, and all. Chapter 1 is why I adore broken heroes: they're little more than beautiful, imperfectly woven tapestries of heartache, mistakes, and regrets. Legend is no exception...After royally f'ing up a good thing with a good woman, HoS explores a side of him I've been waiting to devour since Fall. Legend is a man who couldn't possibly understand what a normal, functioning relationship is supposed to look like, feel like, sound like—but he knows he's going to be hopelessly incomplete without at least trying. It's a lovely example of humanity at large and how when we can feel so undeserving of what we're given, we self-sabotage rather than risk losing it after pouring everything you've got into something that matters. Why do we do that? Because giving something up freely is a LOT less painful than having it taken away from you, especially when you want to hold onto it forever. So, how does Book 2 of the Legend trilogy stack up in the ratings? The legendary KBR 6/5 improper fraction star rating stakes another win for the House of March! Book 2 amps up the sexy times and throws kerosene on the inferno between Scarlett and Legend ;) Letty and the Tramp (yeah, it's a thing now—naming it and claiming it) are en fuego and the long-awaited caveman moments Gabriel graces us with? ....................................................................... Sorry. Blacked out for a second from the heat 😈 It's what we alpha lovers adore in our adorable knuckle-draggers: a consuming need to have his woman at all costs. I lovelovelove when the hero goes into protective, king-of-the-jungle mode Sweet cornbread and biscuits, it's a thing of beauty in this book *RAWR*High marks for the babes who brunch and are game-day ready to break Gabriel's body for hurting their girl. Scarlett's squad is #goals and if you threw in a cheesecake or two, you'd find a younger, more well-to-do version of The Golden Girls.Legend's redemption from his fail at the end of Fall is glorious. I'm talking choirs singing, halos being adjusted, shouting from the rooftops, y'all! You will get all the feels from him in this book 😁 Scarlett's strength is amplified a million times as she is forced to accept the reality of her past and present and embraces the exciting and scary prospect of a future with a man who has already let her down.

    Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

There is just something about Meghan March that makes you yearn for her next book. Anybody who has read her knows that her romances read like the best of book crack. Her latest book, the second book in the Legend trilogy, House of Scarlett, is no different. It’s more of what makes her books undeniable: sultry, action-packed, palpable romance.

Starting up where The Fall of Legend, the first book of the trilogy, left off, we find Scarlett and Legend apart and struggling with it. However, Scarlett finds herself with a health scare, and this is enough for Legend to recognize the error of his ways. The House of Scarlett is the development of their journey towards each other. At the end of this book, though, as March does well, she leaves us with the possibility of it being broken. What makes House of Scarlett necessary?

Scarlett. She’s everything you love in a heroine. She’s strong, and she knows who she is. At the very least, she is working towards realizing the best of herself. One of the things I love about Scarlett is her fallibility. She’s wealthy and beautiful and the epitome of womanhood, but she recognizes her privilege as an albatross around her neck. Instead, she wants messy. She aspires towards a life that is “lived in” instead of one that looks “picture perfect.” She’s real, and she’s a perfect match for Legend.

Legend. He represents the messy that Scarlett needs in her life. He’s also more transparent with her emotionally in a way that he isn’t necessarily with his business partner, Marcus, or even his little “brother,” Bump. Yes, there are parts of his life that he hasn’t divulged to Scarlett, but, as the reader knows, this will be doled out eventually, and it will only add another level of intimacy between the two. Legend embodies strength, even when he’s worried over his potential future with Scarlett.

Scarlett and Legend together. These two are “meant to be.” They are fiery, and their chemistry is palpable on the page. Together, they make sense even when they shouldn’t as they come from different backgrounds. But this is March’s genius right here. She loves creating “messy” heroes who become undone by the heroine, while their messy challenges the heroine. It’s a symbiotic relationship that excites March’s most rabid fans, and we find it here again in House of Scarlett.
The story. I really do think March is the queen of the cliffhanger. She loves to leave her readers guessing when they finish the book that they easily one-click for the next book. At least, that’s the case with me. House of Scarlett does this well. March leaves us with a doozy of an ending in this story, and it’s the perfect set-up for the third and final book of the trilogy. Of The Fall of Legend and House of Scarlett, this book is tamer than the first book as it reads like a story that is building a foundation for Scarlett and Legend’s love which seems necessary for the potential trials in book 3. As such, the action of this story lies in the danger of Scarlett’s stalker and Legend’s business decisions, along with Scarlett’s medical scare. This story is a build; it’s meant to engage us further into Scarlett and Legend’s journey toward their happy ending.

House of Scarlett is effectively representative Meghan March romance. From its beginning until its end, you won’t want to put it down because it’s exciting, driven, $exy, and expressive. I loved every moment of it until the end when I expelled a deep breath because I had been holding my breath waiting for Scarlett and Legend’s lives to become messy. And Meghan March doesn’t disappoint.

I’m impressed with those of you who wait until the trilogy is final. I have no control when it comes to Meghan March’s books. House of Scarlett is another hit, as far as I’m concerned. If you are waiting, more power to you, but this book is everything you love about Meghan March.

P.S. As the best of romance universe builders, you find remnants of her other books in this trilogy. I LOVE this about MM.

4 stars for - House of Scarlett - book two in the Legend Trilogy by Meghan March. Book one - Fall of Legend - must be read first due to a continuing story line. Please be advised this one does end in quite the cliffhanger but the final book is due out the early part of January so we don’t have to wait too long to find out where things go next.
This book picks up right where we left off in book one and develops rapidly from there. Scarlett and Gabe’s relationship evolves into something they never hoped to wish for and they will both go to extremes to protect the other from harm. With outside influences coming at them from all directions they band together to overcome them in the most sexy, explosive ways Ms. March can dream up. It looks like their biggest obstacle is up next and I can’t wait to see how they conquer this one!
I really enjoyed how this book delved deeper into both Scarlett and Gabe individually and brought them together in the most explosive ways. So many characters have popped up both new and old that I can’t wait to read more about. I have a feeling the conclusion to this trilogy will start my year off right!

Book two in the Legend Trilogy is the LOVE story. After the Fall of Legend’s crazy cliffhanger is resolved, Legend finds his way back to Scarlett. She has a medical emergency which kicks Legend into realizing what he screwed up. Throughout this story they find each other again and fall in love. Lots of sweet dialog while Legend nurses Scarlett thru her recovery.

We learn so much more about Legend and his past demons and realize that Scarlett’s dad is truly a jerk. Gabe and Scarlett are amazing together and Ms. March pulls in some of her past hot Men into Legend’s circle – although very briefly. I hope we see more of these guys in the final installment “The Fight for Forever.” In typical Meghan March manner, we have a cliffhanger – but it is not the one you expected! UGH! Setting up for the DRAMATIC conclusion in the next book. My only saving’s grace is that the final story HAS got to end in a fabulous HEA. Can’t wait!

    4.5 out of 5.

I just love a hero that knows how to grovel and Gabriel Legend has it down pat! The way that Meghan March has written the characters and crafted their love story is so engaging - it's impossible not to root for them. I also love the way she's slowly unraveling layers of Gabriel and his past, as well as aspects of Scarlett and her relationship with her mother and father. Speaking of which, I truly enjoyed how I was so caught up in the drama with her daddy dearest, her ex, and Gabriel's club and investors (yay for cameos), that I forgot all about the imminent danger that MM has been prepping us for all along! I'm so excited to see how all of these balls that are now in the air finally land and for Scarlett and Legend to come out stronger together on the other side (I may be mixing metaphors here, but y'all know what I mean). I can't wait to devour The Fight for Forever. 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

The second part of this excellent trilogy about Legend and Scarlett, does not disappoint. The readers experience goes from strength to strength . Gabriel’s nurturing nature shows it’s true colours after such a cliffhanger in book one, and Scarlett’s ability to forgive is a no brained. The other characters also build throughout book two . Bump is so sensitively portrayed as an unfortunate, brain impaired individual that your heart goes out to him, both sympathetically and emotionally, where as Scarlett’s father shows his true colours, however friends are often more reliable and rewarding than family, as we learn. A phenomenal second book, with yes you guessed it a throbbing cliffhanger. Leaving the reader shouting oh no, but is this due to the wait if the third book? Well worth 5 stars. Definitely swoon worth. Definitely worth reading in sequel though. As all of her books Meghan does not disappoint.
