KLM to Purchase Embraer E195-E2 Aircraft for $2.5 Billion

KLM Cityhopper has announced further expanding its Embraer fleet. The largest Embraer aircraft operator in Europe confirmed a firm order for 21 E195-E2 jets, including purchase rights for 14 additional aircraft.

The initial order was placed during Paris Air Show 2019, originally it was announced as a Letter of Intent for 15 firm orders with 20 purchase rights.

“KLM’s decision to add a further six aircraft to this order is a significant vote of confidence in our E2 programme”, said John Slattery, President and CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

According to a statement, deliveries of the E2 jest configured with 132 seats are about to begin in the first quarter of 2021 via Embraer lessor partners Aircastle and ICBC Aviation Leasing.
