Once upon a time…

A sister told her brothers, “Eventually, a girl is going to come along and flip your worlds upside down.”

She was right…

...and Nate was the first to fall.

After saving Remi from a house fire, Nate’s instantly drawn to her...like a moth to a flame.

He should forget about her, the way he does with everyone else he saves.

However, that’s easier said than done when he can’t stop thinking about her or those pretty green eyes. They are almost branded into his brain.

It breaks his rules to visit her. Even if it’s to check she’s okay.

But screw it...Nate’s rules can go and burn.

The woman from the fire is more than he expects; funny, sweet and hot as hell.

Suddenly those careful plans he has in place no longer seem important.

Can Nate create something unique with the woman of his dreams, or will his past, jealous best friend and her crazy ex-boyfriend take the spark that is their attraction and make it disappear in a puff of smoke?

Elena Matthews is (was) a new-to-me author and if I’m being honest here, what attracted me to Forever Nate was the cover (hot) and length of the book. I’m an avid reader and there is a lot of romance fiction being published on the daily and I have a lot of go-to authors so if I’m going to take a few hours away from them …. You feel me, right? Anywho, turns out my time was well invested. Nicely done Ms Matthews!

I don’t have much to say except I enjoyed the heck out of Nate and Remi. They had an insta-connection that was written well enough to be believable and their story unfolded nicely. I’m looking forward to more Once Upon a Player books and going back to reading the Our Forever books as well.

This is the first book by this author. So I went in not sure what to expect. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
From page one, I was hooked.

Nate is content with where his life is at, being single and being able to have endless amounts of flings/one night stands and not having to worry about much, but that all changes when Remi comes into the picture.

Remi and Nate ticked all the right boxes for me. Nate saved Remi from her house when it's on fire, and instantly he can't seem to get her out of his head, so he pays her a visit at the hospital and they become fast friends, but these two had a connection stronger than that and it's really the moment they fall in love with each other.

This was told in Nate's POV, and though I normally like a duel POV and I don't often come across a male POV that I really really really enjoy but this one I did, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see Remi POV.

This was a fast-paced, install-connection/love romance, that had my attention right from the beginning. Extremely well written and easy to follow, I couldn't put it down!

OH MY HELL! I couldn't get ENOUGH of Forever Nate, as Elena Matthews penned a fantastic story which ticked all my boxes. Nate is a man whore, there's no other way to explain him at the beginning, as he has no desire to get into a relationship, so he just sleeps with a ton of women, so I wasn't exactly on board with him at the beginning, despite being a mouth watering HOT, fireman. It's at a bad fire when he comes face to face with a woman named Remi, who he saved from her house burning down, and all of a sudden, life took a turn for Nate. He couldn't get her pretty green eyes out of his head, which had him going to visit her in the hospital, and this is when their beautiful journey started. They have lethal chemistry, but for the first time in his life, he wants to take things slow with a woman breaking all of his rules, & not get her into his bed immediately, which is where I fell for him. Remi was an amazing heroine, who was so funny in her interactions with him, and all the secondaries on his side of the story. Now this is when the story really gets into the dangerous black smoke, since Remi has a psycho ex-boyfriend, which brings on some f-bomb worthy twists. Plus there's his jealous best friend of the female variety causing some drama, on top of his past. So, can these two get past all the bumps in the road to have something great?! You'll have to one click on this awesome story to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

In The Fire

Lets talk about Nate, he isn’t just the average man, No he is the sexiest fire fighter in the area.

When a call comes in for a house fire, Nate is on the scene and can’t believe the sight in front of him. There she is trapped in the room and he knows he has to do all he can to save her. Once she is to safety there is something nagging at him and he can’t stop thinking about her.

Nate just has to know if she is alright, so he goes to check on her and if it wasn’t bad enough when he saw her in distress, he is a goner when he sees Remi and knows the pain she is in. Somehow he just becomes just what she needs at the moment, a shoulder to lend on and a hand to hold.

But just when things look like they could progress, Remi has a past that may just come back to haunt her and she doesn’t even realize it. Nate also has a problem that he is oblivious to as well, and that problem just might cost him a possible relationship.

Just like the protective man, Nate vows that he will protect her, but can he really save her from the unforeseen danger on both sides? I mean after all he is one if not the best fire fighters in the area.

If you are looking for danger, romance and action this is the read for you.

5 star review Forever Nate (Once Upon a Player #1) by Elena Matthews
Elena Matthews is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is. I really enjoyed this story about Nate and Remi. Although not a particularly long book Ms.Matthews certainly managed to pack a lot into it. This book is told from Nate’s point of view and whilst I enjoyed it, I would love to have gotten Remi’s as well.
After saving Remi from a house fire, he goes against his normal behaviour and visits her in the hospital where he immediately falls for her. Is there such a thing as love at first sight? For Nate there is for sure.
The chemistry between Nate and Remi is scorching and it only builds as the story progresses. I not only liked the main characters but found the secondary characters to be just as entertaining. Remi is dealing with an ex that will not give up and I loved how protective and alpha Nate became. It was also interesting that Nate had issues of his own he needed to overcome.
There was a good mix of romance and suspense that left me with a smile on my face and anxious to read the next book in the series which I believe is Forever Logan.

How I love a book that can grab my attention and keep it throughout the whole thing, and Forever Nate did that and more. Matthews is one heck of a writer. From her characters, to the storyline, to the plots, everything was superb.

Forever Nate was a well developed story that had a suspenseful side that kept me on my toes. On the plus side, there is a love story along with everything else. There was also a decent amount of depth that made this story feel real. The banter and dialogue is what made this story feel lighter considering the plot. Everything flowed naturally, with no rush. I am a fan of the insta love, and how that came about, it had me ahhhh-ing and ohhh-ing many times. I always felt the chemistry and connection between Nate and Remi.

Nate is the hot firefighter that gets all the ladies. He loves his job and everything that it entails. He is light and fun. A go getter.

Remi is the blonde bombshell that turns heads. She has an amazing best friend. Loves older music, and loves to bake.

Overall, this was a really good story, and I look forward to more from this author.

I loved this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series, Forever Logan. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end. I read about 80 percent of it in just one day, I couldn’t put it down. I was a great start to a new series. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Nate is perfectly happy as a bachelor. His life is never end string of one-night stands. He swears he’s staying single, but his sister swears that one day her brothers are going to find that one woman who is going to shake up their whole world. Nate doesn’t believe it until he saves Remi from a fire. Next thing he knows he’s visiting her in the hospital and not even looking at other women. He’s decided that Remi is it for him. She’s his forever but Remi has some issues of her own and an ex that just wont leave her alone and someone from Nate’s life that isn’t happy he’s with Remi. Will they be able to work through it all to find their happy forever?

It was another day on the job as a firefighter for Nate, until he crossed paths with Remi, and knew, without a shadow of a doubt, how his life had just changed for the better.

After being rescued from a fire that took her world and broke it into pieces, Remi thought her life was over. Until Firefighter Nate walks into her life, and proves himself worthy of her heart.

With her past coming back to haunt them, Nate and Remi prove that their love, even in the short amount of time they’ve known each other, is stronger than any evil that can hurt them.

This was my first book by this author, and what a read it was! I coudn’t put my kindle down, and I know you will enjoy this book just as much!

Nate is a fireman who has earned his reputation as a playboy but life as he knows it is about to go up in smoke as when he rescues a woman from a fire and takes one look into her beautiful green eyes. He realizes that it is not because he hasn’t been able to commit to a woman but rather that before he met Remi he hadn’t met the right woman.

It is only a matter of time before a relationship ensues but between his reputation and her past things are about to get complicated.

I really enjoyed the characters of his brother and her best friend and I hope that they get their own story as well.

Remi and Nate are great!
He meets her when he saves her from a house fire. He literally saves her. Afterwards, he can’t get her out of his head so he visits her at the hospital where he befriends her.
And here is where these two officially fall in love.
Love at first sight really.
This is a quick insta love romance for sure.

I enjoyed how this story was all in Nate’s POV. I do wish we could have had a glimpse at her POV, but somehow this worked nicely.

Great story which I highly recommend.
Now bring on Logan and Ally’s story!

I loved this fast paced story so much i was sad to see it end!

Nate and Remi’s chemistry is as hot as the fire he saves her from, their story is heart warming, sweet, sassy, funny and has just the right amount of drama to keep you hooked and wanting more. The backing characters are great too and i cannot wait for more in this series.

This is a series i will enjoy over and over again!

I am a huge fan of Elena and have been for a few years. Her writing gets better with every book and I think this may be her best yet. Forever Nate has the perfect mix of steam and suspense but also has so much emotion. I adored reading about Remi and Nate and how they came to be together. I also loved that Nate was so protective, he is the definition of superhero. This was such an easy read but is one I thoroughly enjoyed. I cant wait for the next book in the series, Elena better be prepared for me hounding her!

Forever Nate
By Elena Matthews

“I don’t know what hold this woman has over me or why I’m so infatuated with her, but I just know I can’t stop thinking about her.”

Running into fire is what Nate does for a living. It’s his passion. Little did Nate know, he was one save away from love at first sight.
Remi is trying to rebuild her life, as a disastrous breakup. When a tragic fire threatens her life, Remi is rescued in more ways than one. Learning to love and trust agin is hard, but Nate will stop at nothing to show Remi what kind of guy she needs...him!

“Something inside me changed the second I locked eyes on her, and now, she’s quickly becoming my obsession.”

Elena did a wonderful job with Forever Nate. Remi and Nate are super lovable, and with the help of a great group of supporting characters, you cannot help but cheer on this duo. Add in some suspense and drama, and Forever Nate will be setting your heart on fire!

“She seems to be disappearing right in front of my eyes. Then, I find myself falling into a murky abyss … Until there is nothing but darkness.”

What a great story!

Nate is a self proclaimed player and doesn’t have plans to settle down with anyone. That is until he rescues a green eyed beauty from a deadly house fire. He can’t stop thinking about Remi and quickly falls for her, completely changing his attitude towards relationships.

Nate is constantly saving Remi from dangerous or just unfortunate situations. Wether it’s a house fire, finding her a place to live or protecting her from a psycho ex-boyfriend, he really plays the knight in shining armour part well.

Nate’s love for Remi, for his family and his fire fighter family really shines in this story. The supporting characters were also quite enjoyable. Nate’s twin brother Logan and Remi’s bestie Ally were a nice addition to the story. Can’t wait to find out what happens with them!

This book was a single point of view from Nate’s perspective, and I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. It was nice to read from the Hero’s POV since I’ve only ever read books that are single POV of the heroine or dual POV.

Really enjoyed this story, would highly recommend!
