Hot Nights in Morocco

I just started my dream job. Too bad it comes with movie mogul Jake Dalton who’s equal parts sexy and arrogant ass. He's also a man who comes with a thousand warning signs. Good thing I have zero interest in complicating my life.

But while stuck on set in one of the most exotic places in the world, the desert heat isn’t the only thing making me sweat. The more time we spend together, the harder it is to deny the chemistry sizzling between us.

When we finally give in…the sex is off the charts. But Jake has too many secrets, and combined with my past, trust is impossible. This craziness is temporary, right?

Hot Nights In Morocco is a steamy, summer, hollywood esque romance.

this was by no means my favourite romance ever, but it was a quick and mindless read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The chemistry, angst and smut was really good, and even though the plot was very far fetched and unbelievable in some places, it felt like pure escapism. There was some nice fluff, but it also had a darker undertone because of the plotline about both characters pasts. I think the sideplot could have been good, but it seemed to be sorted out very quickly, and I didn't really see the full ramifications of it.

Overall, this was a fun and fast romance that I would recommend to people looking for a smutty read but with a bit of a plot too.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book!

This is a fabulous book. Whilst not entirely revolutionary in its plot, it kept me hooked to the point where I was up until 3:30am desperately devouring it so that I could know what happened next. It kept me thoroughly enraptured until I'd finished with it, and then truthfully stuck with me beyond that point too.

It is the first book of the year to actually very, very nearly make me cry. I felt the emotion of the characters in such a raw, intense way that it took over my entire being and almost left me a blubbering mess! That, for me, is the sign of an amazing story. When I feel the emotions of the characters so boldly that I simply cannot avoid them, I know it's been a good book.

It was extremely well written with brilliant characters, excellent steam and some really intense storylines. It is a great mixture of fluff, smut and drama and it's blended together to make a thoroughly satisfying story that allowed me to escape from reality for the duration of reading. I really did enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who is intrigued by the premise! I was extremely pleasantly surprised by this book, and will definitely be checking out something else by this author!

Rated 4 stars simply because I felt the resolution was completed too quickly. It didn't feel like it was totally finished and that more could've happened between the characters. I truthfully didn't entirely believe that everything was fixed - and a few more pages could've fixed that.

Trigger warnings for: abuse (emotional and physical), gun violence, death.

【4.5 Hollywood Stars】

Hot Nights in Morocco was an utterly charming blend of a sweet, sexy romance that set the sheets aflame. Jack & Charlie were perfect for one another. Their chemistry heated up the pages on my kindle that left me fanning myself for hours. Catherine Wiltcher takes romance to new heights, because this book was liquid gold.

Catherine Wiltcher is my ride or die. I have been a fan of hers since the beginning, and that will never change. She is the queen of angst, and I can't wait for what she releases next.

I like to lose myself in someone else's pain. It makes mine easier to bear.

Hot Nights in Morocco is fueled by secrets, lies, and falling for the sexy unattainable billionaire. Charlie is trying to make a name for herself, living on her own without help from her stepdad. She lands herself as a personal assistant to for Max Dalton, former director. Thus waltzing into Jake Dalton's life. A chance of a life time, Charlie falls in love and sparks fly. Except living under the spotlight their love will be tested. Will they triumph, or will their pasts haunt them till the bitter end?

"You have me, he says with a groan. "Heart and soul. I love you. Books. I have from the moment you barged into my office like a petulant teenager. What else do you want?"

One click this bad boy, you won't regret it.

Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If Harlequin/Mills & Boon ever decide to go sexy, this is the kind of book that you will get. Specifically, the super annoying heroine and the ever egoistical hero.

I like the setting and the pace of the story just fine. At times I even find myself liking Jake Dalton, even though he has the charm of cutting board. Charlie, on the other hand,...

Here's my gripe.

Who, in their right mind, would be rude to the boss on her first day on the job? Am i supposed to buy the whole 'she's a strong female character that every woman should look up to' just because she decided to be a smartass with her male boss? While I don't expect her to cower, surely a healthy amount of respect towards your superior is not too much to ask for?

Basically, Charlie just rubbed me off the wrong pretty early in the story. Because of that, I find it difficult to warm up to her character, which indirectly affect my liking (or lack of) for this story.

I tried, I didn’t give up until 60% in, but there was no premise! At least not one that was anything special or extraordinary. Basically, this is a story about the secret sexual relationship between two people who broke up due to jealousy and insecurity. Unlike all of the other books I’ve read by this author, it was boring and predictable.

This had a good premise and the potential to be a good read but it swiftly fell into farce and I found it difficult to believe in the the storyline or the characters.

I found it really difficult to engage with the heroine. In fact, until the last couple of chapters, I disliked her intensely and could not figure out what on earth would attract the hero - Jake - to her. Regardless of her tragic past, her behaviour was totally stupid, unacceptable and unbelievable. A 22 year old desperate to get into the film business manages to land a great job and immediately on arrival - on meeting folk for the first time - just opens her mouth and lets fly with every ridiculously disrespectful, challenging and aggressive thought she can come up with. She repeats said behaviour with the producer Jake whom we are supposed to believe is so overwhelmed by her charms that he just puts up with juvenile behaviour from that point onwards? No way. The fact that she continued to be aggressive, insensitive and self centred for most of the story just annoyed me intensely.

Sadly, even the sex scenes failed to hit the mark. I love a well written sex scene - and for me that means a mix of hot and tender, sweet and dirty, romantic and erotic. I like the sex scene to indicate that this relationship is going to develop and that my h/H are moving into a tender, loving relationship. Even when the first (or even 2nd and 3rd), encounter is pure sex - I want to get the feeling it is the most wonderful and earth shattering sex they have both ever had. I felt many of the sex scenes in here were routine and mechanical - almost sex by numbers.

On a minor note, the constant use of the term ‘bangs’ was really irritating.

I thought the book was actually quite well written, but the characters needed more work. It was not by any means a bad book but the heroine ruined it for me I’m afraid. If I hadn’t received this as an ARC from Netgalley, I would not have finished it.

Five "loved it" stars!

I admit, contemporary romance is not my main jam. But this had enough suspense (what DID happen to Charlie as a child?), and enough darkness (Jake can be so gloriously mean) that it was just... more. I should have known that a contemporary romance from Catherine Wiltcher would be more than a regular contemporary romance. A little darker. Because I can't be bothered with something that is all sweet rainbows and hearts. Thankfully, that isn't what Wiltcher writes. And that's why I love her writing.
Jake was full-on alpha. He needed to be in control, which made sense given his history of feeling a loss of control. Charlie made him feel something, and it scared him. The same way it scared her. So they both reacted by pushing each other away, though with different approaches. She simply threw an emotional grenade between them where he tended to lash out with cold words and actions. But, when they DID relent and come together? Fire!
The added layers of the corporate shenanigans, and the history with the Wilsons, gave the story more depth. There were multiple villains here, both corporeal and figurative.
I knew I would like this book because, well, I love this author's work. But I was surprised by how much I loved it.
If you're like me, and are a fan of darker (not super dark, but dark) reads, I recommend checking this one out. It's a bit darker than a typical contemporary. There is no boring, Hallmark-style romance to be had over here. And thank goodness for that.

Oh wow! Leave it to Catherine to take me on a wild ride! Have I recovered… I’ll let ya know!

So much push and pull! Both the MCs were damaged and both act like it! Do you want a dysfunctional and borderline toxic couple? Well let me introduce you to Jake and Charlie. This standalone had everything! Age gap, alpha, damaged hero, banter, boss/employee (sorta!)! Loved it though I did want to strangle Charlie a few times! Ok a lot!

Oh, and she’s the only one who can calm him.

You know when you finish a book and you just didn’t want it to end? That’s how I felt with this book. The story of Jake and Charlie blew my mind. The depths of emotions I felt while reading it can’t even be fully described. I laughed and I cried and I fell in love with these two troubled, complex, beautiful people. They both have troubled pasts and both know that it’s a bad idea to be together, but sometimes it’s just a great idea. The back and forth banter between them will make you smile and the chemistry is so sizzling, you can feel the heat come off the pages. My heart hurt for Charlie so many times, but I love how perfect she really is. And as for Jake, while a complete alpha, I knew he had a heart beating somewhere in that gorgeous body of his. If ever there is a book you should read, this is it. Hands down a definite must read!

Such a great book I literally and I mean that could not put it down I just had to see what happened to Charlie and Jake. I have read all of this authors books and she is just so good she grabs you from the first page and bam your hooked. The worst part about this book is that it ended and now I have to wait for another book by this author!! Great love story steamy alpha male what more can you ask for!!

This was such an amazing journey, an emotional roller coaster and a crazy amount of heat (from the desert and not only, if you get my point). I loved this book to the moon and back. I read it in two days, simply because at some point I needed sleep.

With this being said, let me introduce you to our main characters: Jake and Charlie. She is just starting her career. With no idea what she wants to do with her future, she submits a CV as an assistant for one of the most important actors in Hollywood. Suffice to say that said actor is hot as sin, but when you bring his brother (the movie producer and mega boss of Global Studios), only then you understand what hot really means. Charlie’s ambitious, with a desire to learn, no intention to be pushed around by an actor’s whims or the producer’s mood swings or swearing. Jake is hard on his team, a perfectionist and in no desire to settle down.

Their story is so complicated, with many things keeping them apart. But when the two personalities collide, a fire stars, so powerful and dangerous that melts their walls with each look, banter or kiss. The Charlie we meet in the beginning will not be the same after Jake and he will change as well. I loved this evolution so much and it goes so well with the story.

The book has 400 pages, according Goodreads. I did not feel the time pass by. I was so hooked and so invested in the story! I was afraid the plot would drag at some point, but it was not the case. On the negative side, I would have wanted to have more descriptions of the places. Morocco is an exotic place and with beautiful scenery. I would have wanted more of this explored (not too much more, just a bit more). Also, the way Charlie got the job is a bit too…coincidental. It did not feel believable.

All in all, I loved this book so so much! I wish I could award it 5 stars because with all the emotions that it made me feel, with all the good time I spent reading it, it fully deserves them. But I am compelled to remain with 4 stars, although it pains me to the heart! An amazing story, with so much passion and with characters that have baggage to carry around, until the fire manages to burn the past to ashes. Happy reading!

I'm twenty-two, Lucy." I chuck my age at her like it's a live hand grenade. "So far I've nothing to show for it except unhealthy fixations with parental avoidance and Kindle Unlimited. Stop worrying so much, I'm only his assistant."
When Charlotte lands a dream job as an assistant for a film producer, she can't wait. Despite her friends warning about her womanizing boss Matt, and her boss's boss/brother Jake, Charlie is so excited to finally get out and do something on her own. This is about her and she has no time for a man in her life anyways. That is until she meets Jake.
"A belligerent bibliophile. How charming." "A procrastinating producer. Aren't I the lucky one?"
Jake is the producer for the movie and is known on set for his big mood swings and angry tendencies. And Charlie is completely drawn to him. I felt he was a pretty big jerk though(sorry charlie I don't see it). Even though it's a big no-no the two are both drawn to each other and start a secret romance. They both have big secrets from their past that they refuse to share with each other which makes for a bit of a painful reading experience because you know what's going on with them and why they're acting that way but they don't.
"I read somewhere that the right man is the one who seizes the moment," murmurs Jake, filling the aching silence for me. There's a pause to let his words breathe before I'm flicking my gaze up to meet his. "I guess I'm still waiting to be someone's moment, then," I say quietly.
I enjoyed this overall. It was a quick, mindless romance to read. I felt the ending wrapped up a bit too quickly. We finally get Charlies full backstory and it's very quick and brief despite being led up to for almost the whole book. I enjoyed Jake and Charlies growth although I feel like they should've had more but whatever. Recommended for fans of SPICY romance, dark-brooding and a bit of an a-hole types, and fun, easy reads.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected. At first Charlie seemed too young, and Jake was portrayed as a jerk. But soon enough you started to learn more about both of them, and understood why they acted the way they did. Jake especially turned into a character that I was really rooting for. I liked the settings and brief glimpses into the movie making industry, but most of all I liked Charlie and Jake and the way they made each other better. Highly recommended.

Secrets, Hollywood insanity, having the hots for your boss (or sort of...he's her boss's brother who's in charge of her boss), and chemistry that scorches the pages... What a fun read. Gotta love a powerful billionaire hero, Jake Dalton, who's, of course, gorgeous and unobtainable (can't say the cover really explempifies this character but it's a good cover). And the heroine was great: mouthy and just stubborn enough not to take the hero's sh##. Their obstinate personalities mean they butt heads from start to finish in some truly enjoyable scenes.
Enjoyed the author's writing style tremendously and the story's buildup.

My only hangup is that this is in first person and only from the heroine's POV. What this meant is that when the uber hot hero suddenly goes from broody arguing hating-the-heroine to kissing her it's like...wha-wha-what? Kind of a shocker for not just for the heroine. The reader does miss out on his perspective on the relationship development.

This is a perfect weekend read. You should one-click it. You won't regret it.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

What a great romance novel!! Charlie is starting a new job as an assistant on a movie set. She has no clue who her bosses are but that quickly changes once she arrives. Working for Matt is hard enough since he is so hot but there is no real chemistry so all good at least I told she meets the brother. Jake is way too hot for his own good as well as remarkably cranky. The two butt heads as soon as they meet fighting the attraction but eventually they give in. Things do not go smoothly though as they each have a past to get over. Makes for a wonderful steamy romance I must say. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I liked it a lot this book and the title is very appropiate.

Although my favorite reading by Catherine Wilcher is the Santiago trilogy, this book is entertaining, hot and well written. I had a great time reading it.

I liked Jake from the beginning. He’s a very good-looking alpha male used to do what he wants and everyone follow his orders. He’s difficult and definitely finds in Charlie someone different, a challenge. Charlie is not an easy person either. I wasn’t sure if I liked her, mostly her attitude but later I understood why she was that way.

As long as you read their story you're learning more things about the characters, their past and why they act the way the do. And Charlie and Jake make a good couple!

Welcome to Hollywood where just about anything can happen and Charlie takes on the ride of her life with the famous Jake Dalton himself who is one hateful arrogant bossy Alpha who does what he wants and is not afraid of saying it and oh boy he's met his match Charlie meets him word for word.
The heat these to put out is on fire as they fight their demons and banter constantly the attraction is off the charts.
I love the writing and descriptions it just comes alive and jumps off the pages you get all the feels as we follow their journey into pain, trust, forgiveness and it's not easy for them and I loved it.

Hot Nights in Morocco is a tale filled with strong-willed and multi-dimensional characters as well as fluid story line. The connection and chemistry between Charlie and Jake is sizzling and explosive on many levels. I love how Charlie doesn't take Jake's crap while maintaining her dignity as the same time. Their pasts make all of the characters more real and personable. This is the first book from Ms. Witcher that I have read, and I am now going to read her other books. Angst and off the charts chemistry in this story! Charlie has just gotten her dream job but working with Jake a drop dead gorgeous man with a huge alpha side to him is a bit distracting. Charlie has a past that invades her life and dreams daily. Jake has some secrets of his own. A intense romance that had me wanting to smack Charlie upside the head but hug her at the same time. Jake just made me swoon hard! A amazing read that I never wanted to end. 5/5 stars

This had the potential to be so much better if only there was a little more devoted to both Charlie's and Jake's past. They both experience heartbreak at the hands of their parents and it shaped them and affects their relationship with each other. Parts seemed rushed, but I thought the chemistry and angst was good.

Hot and Steamy read.

Charlie, a freelance assistant, and Jake, movie producer, go to Morocco to do filming on location. Both have history relationship issues and find it difficult to relate to each other, even know they both are physically attracted to the other.
Through some misunderstandings, ego, and a power struggle, they both find themselves at polar opposite in their relationships.
With hot night, steamy sex, and longing between each other to look back on. Can they both find the strength to come together?
Wonderfully written book by Miss Wilcher and I look forward to more in the storyline if it becomes available.

The title of this story definitely fits HOT NIGHTS in MOROCCO !! Charlie aka Books is one of the wittiest characters I’ve ever read about , she has a sharp funny comeback at all times and a mean right hook 😂 ok I’ll try not to give out any spoilers . Jake and Charlie are HOT together and can’t seem to stay apart . I loved this story I couldn’t wait till the mystery of Charlie’s past came to surface and Jake was there to help her . This book is so different than the other books I’ve read from Catherine Wilchter. Not a mafioso in sight. Jake Dalton is a hot headed movie producer. Charlie is getting her first introduction to the movie making business as his brother’s PA. The fireworks start as soon as they meet. Their worldwide affair is plagued by the secrets between them. I would have given this book 5 stars but the ending seemed a little rushed.

Audiobook narration: 2⭐️
Storyline: 3⭐️
Heroine: ⭐️

An assistant and a producer have a whirlwind romance on a movie set in Morocco. The heroine has a mysterious past that haunts her but that she refuses to get help for. She is massively immature and is constantly complaining and bratty with others. Not sure whether the narration caused me to dislike the heroine or whether the narrator was spot on for the characterization of her. I had to force myself to finish. Would not recommend.
