I love finding books where it goes outside the norm. I think it's great that the hero in Scoring Off the Ice is the one who is the shy, inexperienced partner. It's almost always the heroine that is the inexperienced one and that makes this book unique.

I really liked Mikah. The fact that he was shy and almost innocent like didn't keep him from being a possessive guy with the heroine. I'm glad that not all shy men are portrayed as beta men.

Paisley was a great heroine as well. She wasn't immature and handled conflict well. I liked that she also had no idea who Mikah was. I'm also a fan of single parent stories so I enjoyed that there was a baby involved in Mikah and Paisley's.

Overall, this series has been a safer, sweeter, sports themed series. I've been listening to the audiobooks and really enjoy the narrators. You get dual POV and dual narrators.

4/5 ✰ — scoring off the ice review 💌
+ thank you to the author for sending this book my way 🫶

i was supper excited to read this book as soon as i found out it had the single dad trope!

when a baby, with a letter claiming to be his, gets dropped off at mikah’s, a famous hockey player’s door, he’s anything but calm. but luckily for him, his neighbour, paisley, manages to help him & teach him how to balance both parenthood & his career in the NHL!

i finished this book in a span of a few hours! stacey lynn manages to entrance you with her fast pace writing, hilarious characters & incredible chemistry! despite the attraction between paisley & mikah being somewhat instant, i appreciated how their chemistry & tension took a bit of time to build up! they were super cute and i LOVED angelo, he’s adorable !!

have to say i’m extremely intrigued with jason & tessa’s characters tho 👀

Mikah was taught from the moment he was on skates, stay focused, and reach the goal. It was drilled into him from a strict, cold, determined Danish dad who wanted to have his son make a name for himself through hockey.

Well, Mikah learned well and made it to America’s pro hockey league.
He had stayed strong, didn't partake in the crazy. But when his teammates force him to celebrate his 23rd birthday Not at a Chucky Cheese but something more exciting...Something More Exciting Happens.

Paisley is living in her uncle's place. Lucky her, it is rent-free, allows her to finish her degree, and gives her very sexy eye candy of the guy across the hall. There haven't been any meetings but a little crush is brewing.

On an uneventful Friday night of couch, relaxing, and finding something not too challenging on Netflix, Paisley hears something outside in the hallway...something that sounds like a baby crying. Paisley opens her door, sees the baby in the baby seat in front of the hunky neighbor's door, and does what any normal person would do...She bangs on his door and presents him with his kid.

Mikah first sees that the cute neighbor he has been curious about is standing in front of him, cool. Then she shoves him the baby with a note stating it is his. After having his freak out, taking deep breaths, and looking into this angel's eyes, he knows he will take care of this child...but he is going to need some help.

He is going to need a lot of help.
And, Lucky Him, he gets it not only from the cute and capable Paisley but also from his Hockey family.

This story worked on so many ways. It was cute, loving and the characters got to know each other and grow while their attraction was there. It wasn't too heavy, just right.

This was fantastic! I really enjoyed the first book in the Ice King series so I was pretty eager to get started with this second installment. I ended up enjoying this book even more than the first. This was one of those audiobooks that I found incredibly hard to put down. I thought that this was a really delightful story from beginning to end.

Mikah and Paisley were great characters. I loved the fact that they had admired each other but hadn't actually met until the start of this story. Mikah has bigger problems to deal with in this story than hockey, namely the baby that was left on his doorstep. He was unsure at first but Paisley was right there to help and reassure him. I just loved Mikah and thought it was wonderful to see him embrace caring for his son.

Meg Price and James Cassidy did a fantastic time with the narration of this book. I have no idea whether Mikah's accent was authentic but to my untrained ears, I thought that it added a nice element to the story. I really thought that both of these narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life and I really enjoyed the fact that they were able to add a lot of emotion into their reading.

I would definitely recommend this book to romance fans. I thought that this was a very well done romance with characters I couldn't wait to see fall for each other. I cannot wait to read more of this great series!

I received a digital audiobook review copy of this book from Spectrum Audiobooks via NetGalley.

Initial Thoughts
I liked this book even more than the first book in the series. Mikah and Paisley were fantastic characters and I thought that they had wonderful chemistry together. I thought that the baby on the doorstep was a very interesting and well-done premise. The way that these two handled everything made it hard not to love them. The narration was very well done and I found myself wanting to listen to this book for hours at a time. I am looking forward to checking out the next book in the series.

GAH … I loved this story so much!

The baby situation, the daddy situation, the neighbor situation … all of it was super enjoyable! Mikah and Paisley were so likeable it was ridiculous, and the team’s camaraderie and support enhanced not only them, but the story! Great energy and spark between them as well! I was swooning and smiling all the way thru this beautiful story!

I’ve been reading Stacey’s work for a few years now and she just keeps getting better and better! I can’t wait to devour what she writes next for these hockey guys!

I really enjoyed Scoring Off the Ice. The author, Stacey Lynn , does a good job blending romance and sports in this sweet read.

I think what makes this such a enjoyable read is the main character himself. Hockey has been Mikah’s dream his entire life. He’s not one to seduce women or party until his teammates drag him out on his birthday. That night, almost a year ago, changed his life. I liked the naivety of this character. He accepted the challenge head on and was willing to sacrifice for the next chapter in his life.

Paisley is the girl next door who helps navigate Mikah in the world of being a single parent. She is every bit as caring and compassionate as Mikah. It’s no wonder that these two would make an ideal match.

The storyline isn’t unique but I liked the different spin on the characters and thought the author did a good job bringing their story to light.

Scoring off the ice follows Mica and Paisley when a newborn is found at Mica's doorstep. They had never met before and Paisley had no idea he was a professional hockey player. However, they kept eyeing each other as neighbors until they finally met. The baby's mother (the only woman Mica had sex with before) had left him there, abandoning her child to his father who panicked a little at the idea of having a baby to raise. Thankfully, Paisley is the kind of generous person that would help someone if they need her and she doesn't hesitate to step in.

Overall, this book was a pretty interesting and enjoyable book to listen to. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the male narrator's accent at first but I got used to it. I think I liked this one a little more than the other but I'm not sure. I have to admit I forgot a little about the first book unfortunately. That's probably because I have a bad memory and romance are easy to forget sometimes. Still if I see any more audios as ARCs on Netgalley by this author, you can be sure I'll happily request them ;)

Paisley has recently moved into her Uncle’s empty apartment while she is busy attending college and teaching at a local school. It’s a win win situation, she gets to live rent free in a place she would have never been able to afford herself and her Uncle has a house sitter looking after his place while he travels overseas. The other bonus is the hot neighbour across the hall, Paisley has been secretly perving at him through the peek hole whenever she hears him in the hallway.

After a long week Paisley settles into her Friday night routine of a take-out meal, a bubble bath and Netflix when she is disturbed by a noise in the hallway. It’s not one she has heard before and after a few minutes she discovers the source – a tiny baby in a car seat outside her neighbours apartment door. Looks like a good a time as any to finally meet him face to face.

Mikah’s surprised to open and see his cute neighbour at his door. However, he is doubly surprised that she is holding a baby, he had no idea she had children. Unfortunately, his assumption is not true and in fact the little bundle she is holding belongs to him. Yup, his one and only one-night stand resulted in a son he didn’t even know existed. Baby mumma has gapped it with no forwarding address.

So yeah, a really interesting way to meet a girl he has been admiring from afar but he has bigger issues now. He has no idea what to do with a baby but he knows that he could never abandon him the way his mother did. As Mikah comes to terms with his new way of life he finds himself relying on the help and advice of Paisley most days. He loved that she had no idea who he was, she hadn’t even heard of his hockey team. He can feel something growing between them and he looks forward to spending time with her.

Paisley adores little Angelo and is quickly falling for his daddy Mikah. Everything just seems to feel so easy and right with him. She loves the bubble they have created together and his team family have also embraced her into their fold too. All his life, Mikah has lived and breathed hockey but now he has a son his priorities have changed. There is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect his son, even sacrificing his own personal happiness.

‘The heaviest thing I’ve ever held even though he doesn’t weigh much. How can something be so small and big at the same time?’

Mikah was thrown into the deep end of fatherhood and was able to instinctively keep his head above water because he had no other choice. I loved the progression of his relationship with Paisley, they were so cute together. This was a fantastic ‘surprise baby’ story.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

I was so delighted with this book! This is a fun romance with so many feels.

I loved Paisley and Mikah so much. They are both such realistic and compelling characters. I just couldn't get enough of them. I loved how well I connected to their characters. Both Paisley and Mikah have such great character growth in the story. I also really loved the cast of side characters and I can't wait to read more about them in other books.

I adored the romance in this story. Paisley and Mikah are an amazing couple and their chemistry was undeniable. There was an obvious attraction between the two of them but I loved how their relationship grew from spending time together as they cared for Angelo. The tender moments when they were with Angelo warmed my heart. While not quite instalove, the romance begins after a short amount of time. The way that Paisley and Mikah get to know each other by spending time together really offsets the fact that they hadn't known each other for long before jumping into a relationship.

I was very impressed with the author's writing style. I meshed with it immediately. The narration is smooth and told beautifully.

I enjoyed the plot of the story and how everything unfolded. The premise for the story really caught my attention from the start. I was glued to the pages of this story.

Overall, this is a light-hearted story that is full of emotion. This story put a smile on my face from the first page. It has the perfect amount of drama, heat, and heartfelt moments to really pack a punch. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

5 Star Review Scoring Off The Ice (Ice Kings #2) by Stacey Lynn

Stacey Lynn is a relatively new author to me. I loved the dynamic between Ice Kings, Mikah and Paisley. Mikah is laser focused on one thing and one thing only and that is hockey and achieving the goals that he has mapped out for himself. However, all it takes is one lapse, in this case, celebrating his birthday to have it all come crashing down around him.

Suddenly finding yourself a father and having no idea how or what to do with said baby certainly created some intense and at times heartfelt and awkward situations for Mikah. He is lucky that his neighbour Paisley is willing to help him out.

As he stumbles through becoming a father, with Paisley's help, he learns that there is more to life than hockey. It was gratifying and heart warming to watch the relationship develop between Mikah and Paisley. Oh and don’t get me started on how my heart just about melted with Mikah and his baby’s interactions; totally swoon worthy.

The chemistry sizzled between them and Ms. Lynn packed a lot into this entertaining story. There was heat, humour and drama which only added to my enjoyment as you cannot help but become invested in their story.

There wasn’t enough justification for the 80% crisis and the reconciliation was a bit rushed. But overall, a cute read. And one that kind of makes me want a baby lol. Little Angelo is an absolute cutie, even when he’s screaming his head off.

I liked Mikah’s naïveté and lack of experience (both with women and with babies). Seeing him grow as a father was fantastic. I do wish Paisley was developed a bit more, since she’s definitely the flatter of our two characters.

What a sweet story. Mikah was just too cute man!

Mikah's life has always been all about hockey. His father drilled him since a young age. Giving him everything except the love and approval that he wanted. Now his a player for the Ice Kings and his life seems like it can't get any more perfect. Until it is totally turned upside down by one mistake on his birthday. Now he needs to change everything. But its not so bad, it got him to finally talk to his sexy neighbour.
Paisley is studying to finish her degree in education. She has no time for anything except that and maybe perving on her neighbour. Until she finally gets the chance to speak to him and inadvertently becomes a part of his life. Now things are complicated, its not just her and Mikah, who is a famous hockey player and she's just a small town girl, but they have Angelo to think about too.

This was a cute story. I loved Mikah, he was sweet, sexy and totally alpha in his naieve way. But he was too cute with little Angelo and when he realized he was attracted to Paisley, well lets just say it will melt your heart. I am excited to read the next book in this series

Scoring Off The Ice is an off beat romance between a shy, inexperienced, wishing for a girlfriend professional Hockey Player and the neighbour who helps him out when the one sexual experience he had resulted in a baby.

Single parent romances are my kryptonite;
with both the MCs being in their early twenties - both at the start of their careers, so it had me a little leery of the fact if they would be able to handle a mature relationship, without the angsty drama of NA romance.

And while I found their relationship to be more physical than would have been expected from a single parent romance, I definitely enjoyed how they handled their relationship with each other and the adorable little baby.

Mikah was charming, adorable and quite the dominant stud, especially considering his own experience and Paisley was amazingly strong and a wonderful human -
kind, thoughtful and adorable, and it was no wonder that both Mikah and his son, Angelo fell for her.

Low on drama, high on romance this was a wonderfully narrated audiobook that bought out the accent of a non - English speaking hero perfectly!

4.5 rounded up

This was such a fun audio book to find on Netgalley!

Narrators:
I always appreciate when dual POV novels have two different narrators to voice the male and female characters.

Mikah (James Cassidy): I admit I was a little distracted by Mikah’s accent...I kept thinking, is this a Danish accent? It veered into “Transylvania” a bit at first. It turns out I ended up enjoying his voice and his accent after listening to it for a while.

Paisley (Meg Price): The narrator did an excellent job with Paisley’s slight southern accent. She sounded appropriate for the region and her age in the book.

The story:
What’s not to love about this story of a hunky Danish hockey player next door? His nervousness and confusion with handling a tiny baby was so endearing. The chapter where Mikah takes Angleo to his first doctor’s appointment is hilarious and so true...dealing with babies, their bodily functions, and the millions of pounds of equipment can be frustrating!

Paisley is a likable character and I love that she knows nothing about hockey. I was a little confused about her career choice/education, but let’s face it, that’s not what this book is about.

This was a steamy open door romance that fit perfectly with the characters and story. The ending was sweet and everything I could have hoped for this couple.

I liked that there were a few on-the-ice hockey scenes in the book, but I would have liked a little more. I also thought the book could have been longer, I didn’t want it to end.

I recommend this book to people who enjoy reading sports romance and like the ‘new dad’ trope.

“The guy who I’ve crushed on for months, and who now, will probably never be mine.”

Mikah Lutzgo. Young, handsome, single, Danish, wealthy, good guy and a professional hockey player. His night was going well, until he heard someone knocking insistently on his door. Facing a woman and a baby was not what he expected.
Paisley is a grad student, who is living in her uncle's apartment while he is out of the country. Her plans for a relaxing night are interrupted by a strange noise. Discovering a baby left at the door of her mysterious neighbor, who by the way she has a huge crush on, will certainly be a good way to introduce herself. This if he can understand the surreal situation that both are in at the moment.
An abandoned baby. A note from a mother with questionable attitudes. A player on the verge of a nervous breakdown. And a girl who just wants to help. Ready for this mess? The book will positively surprise you.
Light, funny, cute and even romantic, the story of Mikah, Paisley and baby Angelo will draw sighs, good laughs and even some angry moments. Just as we will see the birth of a father, we will accompany the flourishing of a relationship and the formation of a family, even though events have been recent, unexpected and surprising.
Second book in the Ice Kings series, the other characters in the series also appear, and we can already see the development of the next plot.
A sweet and well-written novel. Highly recommended.

*Actual rating: 3.5/5

I enjoyed this book. It was a lighthearted sports romance with two characters who knew they were meant for each other the first time they had an actual conversation with one another. Even if that conversation was Paisley knocking on Mikah’s door to say “hey there’s a baby in our hallway that I’m pretty sure is yours.”

Paisley and Mikah were cute. They weren’t my OTP or anything like that, but I didn’t hate them. They had some clear chemistry and because of Angelo we got to see their relationship develop in a real way. It wasn’t just about their physical connection. We got to see the emotional connection between them as well.

My one big issue is that the ending felt super rushed. The conflict between Paisley and Mikah was solved way too easily. We didn’t even get to see them discuss it. It was just mentioned in passing after they made up that they talked about what happened. I was so looking forward to reading about Mikah explaining everything to Paisley.

Overall, this was a cute sports romance. I enjoyed it enough and if the third book in the series is about the player I think it’s about, then I’ll most likely pick it up.

Stacey Lynn is a fairly new to me author but wow am I loving the Ice King Series. I devoured the first book, Playing to Win in less than 24 hours and this one was the same. From the first page I was hooked on the characters, the story, the romance. EVERYTHING! This book has it all! Mikah has made it as a professional hockey player from Denmark. He has had one focus in life and has no time for distractions. On the night of his 23rd birthday he gets together with a woman and the result will change his life forever. Paisley is Mikah’s neighbor. She finds quite the surprise on Mikah’s doorstep! I love how she stepped in right away and was there for him immediately. Her personality is equal parts sassy and sweet and I completely adored her. Mikah and Paisley quickly build a bond together. Their chemistry was everything. So real & emotional. There is so much to love about this book. A sweet, single dad hockey romance that is a must read. 4 STARS

Stacey Lynn is a new author to me and am immediately hooked in to the Ice Kings series. Scoring Of The Ice is a well written, feel good love story with a little drama thrown in the mix. It was sweet, emotional and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved Mikah and Paisley. The pair stole my heart upon first meeting and I loved how adorable they were together. The chemistry sizzled between them and I especially enjoyed how Stacey Lynn packed so much into this entertaining story. There was plenty of heat, humour and drama which only added to my enjoyment and I found myself very much help invested in their story. I loved the dynamic between the other characters in this book which enhanced the story and there are hints of what may be coming in the upcoming books.

This is an entertaining read that captivated me from the first page. I loved the storyline, I loved all the characters and I’m excited to read more from this series.

I received this audiobook from Netgalley in return for an honest review of the book.

First of all, I want to say that before I listened to this audiobook, I read the first book in the series, and was not impressed. If you read my review for that book, you will notice that I criticized it for its use of first person POV and also the writing style, which just didn't work for me. I will say that, in this book, possibly because of the format, those things weren't as frustrating to me as they were in the first book. So, there is that.

Overall, the story is ok. I do like the "surprise baby" and "accidental baby acquisition" tropes, and the baby in this story is cute. I also do like hockey stories (and just, hockey in general), and this book, unlike the last one, does actually have more hockey and team stuff than the first one.

I like that, given that the book is presented from two points of view, that they mirrored that with two different narrators. Though, James Cassidy's "Danish" accent is... a bit not good. At times, he sounds stereotypically German, sometimes Russian. I have friends from Denmark, and their accent when speaking English is... not this one.

The rest of this review is below the cut, because of spoilers that will inevitably come through.

Stacey Lynn lights the lamp with Scoring Off the Ice (Ice Kings #2). In this story, hockey player Mikah Lutzgo has a son he didn’t know about left on his doorstep. He gets much-needed help from his neighbor, Paisley. This novel takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is suitable for adult readers.

Scoring Off the Ice is a sweet and heartfelt story. Paisley and Mikah are both young and have admired each other from afar, until Paisley finds a crying baby left in front of his door across the hallway. They get to know each other as Paisley helps Mikah with his infant son, Angelo. They are both likeable characters. Paisley is studying to become a teacher and is great with kids. She comes from a loving family. Mikah on the other hand, left Denmark and moved to America at a young age. He did not have the best relationship with his parents. His family are his teammates. I like how Paisley and Mikah both grow throughout the novel.

Stacey Lynn does a fantastic job with this story. It is skillfully written and hard to put down. The characters have interesting challenges and controversies to face. I like that the Taylor brother’s and Kate from Playing to Win (Ice Kings, #1) played a role in this story. I also appreciated the Rough Riders series tie in. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is my first time reading Stacey Lynn’s book and definitely not the last. Scoring Off The Ice is the second book from the Ice Kings series.

Paisley and Mikah stole my heart. Both of them are so sweet, dedicated and in love to each other, honest (most of the time) and very responsible for their age. Paisley is the good girl neighbor, has a good and loving family, had two amazing friends (Pippa had one of the best quote ever when she said: “A man who doesn’t trust you enough to go through hard times isn’t worth hanging on to for the easy ones, girl. You’re stronger than this. And if he’s not it, no matter how great he is, there’s better for you.”), is studying to become a teacher and is there to support the ones she love. Huge heart.

Mikah is the foreign hockey player, with terrible parents, but he created his own family with his teammates. That is until a baby, Angelo, is left at his door crying and lonely. His mother, Angela, simply didn’t want him anymore. What I loved more in this book was the support net that was created around Mikah and Angelo, they received so much love in the book, that I could feel it, is it crazy?

The baby brought together Mikah and Paisley and thank god for him. They belong together and it was palpable from the beginning. Which made me a little angry with Mikah when he “broke up” with her out of the blue. Of course it was understandable, but I wish he was a little upfront with her about what was going on, a message would have worked.

Not even going to say how awful Angela was, she deserve everything bad in her life.

I love the ending and much more what it was created from Angelo’s life. Paisley’s parents are awesome and I want Paisley and Mikah to be protected at all costs! I’m pretty sure we will be able to read about them in the next books, so can we have it right now? Please?

Like most books, I went into this mostly blind. I new it was a hockey romance and I was sold.
This story follows Mikah, a Russian hockey player, and Paisley, his next door neighbor. When Paisley hears muffled cries in their apartment hallways, she opens her door to find her neighbor has a bundle of joy left on his doorstep. Scoring Off the Ice is book two in a series, although I haven't read the first one and from what I can tell, can be read as a standalone. This story has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and is a HEA.
I usually don't go for romances that have a baby involved because normally they aren't my cup of tea. However, I did enjoy this book because it had a fun, new story line I haven't read before. Overall, this book was average for me. I didn't LOVE it and I didn't hate it. It didn't have any problematic story lines and kept me interested throughout the story, although the ending was fairly predictable. It did feel like the ending was a little rushed. The whole book built up the drama between Mikah and Angela, but was resolved in a couple anticlimactic paragraphs. On top of that, the reconciliation between Mikah and Paisley was subpar and the Mikah was immediately forgiven with little explanation.
Often times in hockey romances, the male lead is a hottie sex god and I appreciate how the author made Mikah a virgin. It was a nice change of pace to have the male lead a virgin and not the female. The sex scenes were explicit and well written and flowed with the story well.
I listened to this on audio and while I loved the females voice, the male's voice with his Russian accent was hard to get used too. I did like how they made him have an accent.

In the end it was an "ok" read for me. It was nice having it on audio and listening while I did chores.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series, and whilst there are clearly team dynamics which mean that reading them in order is advisable, but not essential. I love hockey romances, and this one is a good mix of hockey camaraderie and romance, but there isn't a lot of on ice time. In fact Paisley is completely ignorant of the sport (all sport really) which is both cute and funny.

Paisley is living in her absent uncle's lovely apartment whilst she completes her Masters studies. One evening she hears a baby crying outside her door and goes to investigate ...

Mikah is a very young, talented Danish hockey player, who had (his first ever) one weekend of passion just under a year ago, but he never expects to find his neighbour holding a screaming baby at his door. He is 23, single, and his life has been all about ice hockey since he was five.

Baby Angelo gives the two of them a chance to get to know each other better, as Mikah's baby knowledge is seriously lacking, and Paisley is more than happy to help. The road is not entirely smooth, but makes for a great story. I enjoyed the team times, when there are some intriguing signposts of potential future storylines, as well as showing that the Ice Kings is made up of a generally great group of guys. This support is vital as things get rough, but also gives us some fun insight into the level of innocent that Mikah was just a year ago!

Very sweet, fun romance to add to the series. I look forward to the next installment.

Mikah's dream was always to come to America and play hockey. He trained hard and caught the attention of the coaches for the Ice Kings, and earned himself a spot on their team. He doesn't take the opportunity lightly, knowing it can be taken away at the drop of a hat, so his focus is always on the game. He never strays from the straight and narrow... well with the one exception of his birthday night.

It was supposed to be one night of freedom, a night to enjoy himself... but that one little night is about to cost him dearly!

Scoring Off the Ice delighted on all fronts, the words were steamy and heartwarming, and the characters were so easy to love! I loved this pairing so much, they had my heart upon first meeting, they were so adorable together. You couldn't help but feel for Mikah and the situation that landed in his lap, it had him completely out of his element, but I think he handled it like a champ. Learning you're a father and not having any of the skills necessary to care for your child can be a little overwhelming, lucky for him though he had a very capable and caring neighbor to help guide him along. Watching him and Paisley navigate their unique situation was not only entertaining, but also good on the ticker, they had me smiling and swooning throughout. This series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine from Ms. Lynn, and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for these Ice Kings next!! I highly recommend you get your hands on this sweet little literary gem, it's destined to leave your heart happy!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

I am a sucker for Hockey romances and absolutely in love with the Ice Kings series. Mikah and Paisley’s story was sweet, emotional and one that I completely DEVOURED.

Mikah’s goal was to make it America and play in the NHL. He worked his entire life to get to where he is. This also means he had very little time for anything else, including relationships. However, it was the night of his 23rd birthday and he decided to finally take care of something and has one weekend of pure bliss. Paisley is a hard-working grad student and currently living in her uncle’s apartment while he is away. She has an insanely gorgeous neighbor who she has never talked to, she doesn’t even know his name. Until one day there is a surprise outside his door and that surprise completely changes both of their lives.

Mikah’s one weekend of freedom suddenly ends with him being a father and he is completely clueless at what to do and what a baby needs. Enter his neighbor Paisley. She helps him with his son, she becomes his support through this massive life changing event. Mikah and Paisley’s relationship continues to grow as they navigate from being strangers, to friends, to something more. I loved their chemistry and watching their relationship grow throughout this story. Paisley seamlessly fit into his life, along with his new son. Plus, Mikah and his soon. Those scenes will completely melt your heart!

Scoring Off The Ice is a MUST READ from Stacey Lynn and I can’t wait for more of the Ice Kings!

Scoring Off The Ice is book 2 in the Ice Kings series by Stacey Lynn. This is Mikah and Paisley's story. Mikah is a professional sexy hockey player who lives next door to graduate student Paisley, who just moved into her uncle's empty apartment while she is busy attending college and teaching at a local school. She's getting to stay rent free at her uncle's apartment in exchange for apartment sitting. One night, she gets a knock on her door and it's her sexy hot nextdoor neighbor, hockey player Mikah, whose holding a baby and saying that it's his.
This is the start of the beginning of their meeting- unusual circumstances that will take them on a journey, a relationship journey towards something extraordinary and beautiful.
Mikah just discovers that he's a father and doesn't know what to do with a bouncing baby boy. Fatherhood was something that he didn't expect at 23 yrs old and yet now he's been handed a baby, told its his. Paisley has had a huge crush on her next door neighbor and is willing to give whatever support she can to Mikah. The plot is fantastic, the feels is good and the chemistry is sizzling. Liked visits from previous characters popping into the storyline. The overall story is pretty good and one that had me rooting for the main characters. I look forward to book 3.
