Europe’s largest regional airline Flybe is on the verge of collapse once again, Sky News reports. The news portal provides that the airline is facing financial problems and is trying to secure additional money to keep the carrier alive.

Flybe, in turn, has refused to disclose any details or confirm any of the reports. According to the carrier, all the flights are operating normally.

“Flybe continues to provide great service and connectivity for our customers while ensuring they can continue to travel as planned. We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”

Flybe had already faced problems. In 2018 the airline put itself for a sale because of Brexit-related uncertainty‎, the weaker pound and soaring fuel costs. In 2019 Flybe was announced to be purchased by Connect Airways, a joint venture company established by Virgin Atlantic, Stobart Group and Cyrus Capital.

Developing story.
