The Rooftop Crew #2

A Royal Mistake

Rate this book
He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.

I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty. But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.

All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.

I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

I went into this book with a whole load of doubts. I wasn't a massive fan of the first one and Sierra came across as a bit of a cold and judgy witch. But Sierra and Adrian were perfect. And I really did get to see a soft and sensitive side of Sierra and I felt her pain. I can't imagine losing a parent and having the other one just shut down and leave you to deal by yourself at ten. No wonder she came across as cold and distant.

Adrian was so perfect not just in drawing her out of her shell and making her open herself up but also in being so solid and giving her a safe space to find her own strength. He was such a perfect character and I think the lovely ladies did an amazing job writing this reluctant royal.

I enjoyed the way the rooftop crew just took it all in stride. That group is so fun I love all their different dimensions and I can't wait to get my hands on Rian's book next. It's kind of mean that I want Dylan to suffer and Rian to find love with Jax but my fingers are crossed.

Sierra Sanders has won a date with Prince Adrian Marx, a man she has cyber stalked for years, sounds like a great plot for a horror story but this was so much fun to read and exactly what I have come to expect from a Piper Rayne book.

Sierra is a bit of a witch, with a capital B, at times and I will admit she was not my favorite person in the first book of the series but I knew that she had to have some redeeming qualities and I am really glad we got to see them so soon and didn't have to wait to find out who the true Sierra is.

A Royal Mistake was the second book in the Rooftop Crew series by the authors Piper Rayne. I accidentally read the series out of order and thankfully it could be easily read as a stand-alone.

Prince Adrian Marx was the heir to the throne of the small country Sandsal. He was a bit of a wild card and a rebel and was refusing to abide with an arranged marriage. In reality, he had no desire to become King.

Sierra Sanders was a struggling reporter and celebrity crushed on the Prince. She knew everything there was to know about him and won a trivia contest for a one night date with the Prince.

The authors took us through the meet, development, life struggles and reflections with humor, emotion and fun. They also included the “Rooftop gang” as an integral part of the storyline and great teasers for what will come. Rival Roomies is next and it looks to be explosive!

A Royal Mistake
By: Piper Rayne

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆
Fortunately for me, reading A Royal Mistake was not a mistake at all. Adrian is a royal but would rather not be. Sierra is a common woman with a crush on Prince Adrian, and as luck would have it, she wins a date with him. This date, however, begins badly because, as first impressions go, Prince Adrian's is terrible. Sierra is dismayed and disappointed by his appearance, but this bad date turns into a bit more. As they get to know one another, both Sierra and Adrian open up about who they really are and how they truly feel. The media have a field day, and it's tough going for the couple. Is a romance even possible between a prince and a non-royal? Is this situation too fraught with obstacles and complications? I stay away from spoilers. I will say this is a charming and deliciously sweet story with authentic entertaining characters you can't help but love and root for all the way. Fans of royal fiction will appreciate this fresh and fabulous take on the tried and true trope. Piper Rayne have written a story you won't be able to put down until the last page is read.

If March hadn't been such a bitch I would call it the month of redemption, for all the redemption stories I've, read including this one, but March has a long way to go to make up for what we've all been put through! April's not looking much better, to be honest.

I think many of us who read My Bestie's Ex found Sierra to be a little irritating with the way she acted towards Blanca and Ethan, even if at times I could empathize with her. So I was interested in seeing how the ladies would be able to change my mind about her. I don't think she needed to change, just my perception of her. And I'm here to say I'm a changed woman. I ended up caring about Sierra, after getting a chance to know her and seeing the real woman behind the facade she tends to put up.

I'm not much of a royal follower, but I don't begrudge anyone who is- unless it becomes a crazy out-of-control obsession. Thankfully that wasn't the case with Sierra- although she might have been skirting the edges there! But I did find A Royal Mistake to be a fun premise, with some underlying heavier feels as it went along. My heart ached for young Sierra, and learning about her past made it much easier to understand her as an adult.

The romance with Prince Adrian was sweet, but it didn't come without its troubles, as you can probably imagine. While they both agreed at the start that things wouldn't become serious, it's kind of hard to deny your heart. I was glad to see Adrian fight for what he wanted, although I did find him a little childish at times, especially at one certain point. But in the end he more than made up for it. I"m not spoiling anything by saying it was nice to see Sierra get the start of her own happily ever after!

And let me tell you, I am more than ready for Rian and Dylan's story...bring on the roomies!

I must admit, I didn't think that Sierra could be fully redeemed for me after what happened in the first book of this series. I didn't know whether I liked her or disliked her. But by the end of this book I was on Team Sierra! Once again, Piper Rayne have given me a book I completely fell for.

The characters drew me in, I loved them! My heart ached when Sierra's past come to the front, and that letter!!! I am just so glad that things picked up for her, and she was finally able to be happy. Adrian stole my heart from the start. He is so sweet towards Sierra, well after the initial meeting, which by the way was funny! This couple was all hot and steamy and captivating me with every page.

I am SO looking forward to the next book. I can't wait to see what happens for Rian! I am addicted to this author's writing and I personally don't think i will ever get enough.

I seriously hated Sierra in first book in this series and I wasn’t able to warm up toward her in this one either. She hadn’t had it easy in her life, for sure, but the stuff she did or thought to herself reminded me of scorned and vindictive women that would play villainesses in other two people’s love stories.
Adrian’s side of story wasn’t mind-blowing either. I was looking forward to the royal part of the story, to be honest, in hopes that it would entice me into liking Sierra a bit more but everything about his family was lukewarm wrapped into seemingly pretty package.
The dramatic plot twists, revelations and their conclusions didn’t make a lick of sense to me and just rang true to my earlier words.

This is the first story I’ve ready by these authors, and I really enjoyed it. It was the royalty trope at its most charming and a terrific story of falling for the handsome prince.

Not realizing that this was the second book in a series, I think I had an advantage over a lot of readers. I’ve repeatedly seen that people didn’t like Sierra from the first book in the series, and already had an opinion of the person she was that they first needed to overcome. I didn’t have such preconceived notions and was able to experience her fresh, and I completely liked her! Sierra was moody and headstrong, and blunt and fun, and I’m glad I got to know her the way I did. She was the perfect person to show the wayward Prince Adrian how the other half lived.

Prince Adrian was simply adorable. At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like this spoiled prince, but that took only long enough for him to wipe off his greasy snack fingers on his t shirt and I adored him. From his dirty talking to his inability to bake a bagel or do laundry, he was a contradiction in terms. He was worldly but couldn’t do the simplest day to day tasks, but he was adorable and good hearted despite being spoiled, and I can see why Sierra had her royal obsession.

If I did have to dislike one aspect of the story though, I was not crazy about was the whole Friends-esque nature of the neighbors that lived surrounding Sierra. I liked the characters, but people popping in and out made me feel too much like they were living in a dorm. I understand that these people have stories that have been or will be told, but I wish they would have been more peripheral than constantly watching tv in each other’s apartment.

Despite this one aspect, on the whole, A Royal Mistake was sometimes sweet, sometimes heavy, but all around enchanting.

I really enjoyed this book. It was book two to the Rooftop series and i has been looking forward to it since i finished “ my besties ex”.

Sierra was not on my favorite list after the way book one ended, but i should of known that’s piper rayne would of changed my mind. Sierra was a very complex character and she had a lot of layers to her. I really loved getting to know her better and enjoyed watching her and Adrian get closer.

Adrian was such the perfect prince. Well a bad boy prince. He didn’t want any of the royal duties, that wasn’t for him and what he wanted was just to live as he wanted and to love who he wanted.

I can’t wait to continue this series and see how Rain’s book goes. I’ve been excited for her story since i figures out what was going on with her.

Oh my! I liked Sierrra SOOOO MUCH MORE in this book! It's not that I didn't like her, I just thought she was a bit uptight, and now I know why and totally understand why. I loved watching her character grow and open up.

I did like Prince Adrian, but felt he had blinders on when it came to his future - you will understand my thoughts when you read this LOL

I can not wait for the next books with the way this ended!!! Go Dylan!

A Royal Mistake by Piper Rayne
“A prince and the reporter, 5 stars”

Prince Adrian would rather be anywhere but here about to meet the woman who won a date with him. Then he sees Sierra, gets to know her, and she captivates him. He’s never wanted his title but Sierra really tempts him to walk away from it. The question is will he? Is he just enamored with her or is this thing between Sierra and him the real deal?
Okay so Sierra might have a tiny thing for Prince Adrian. It’s mainly because he intrigues her though. First impression? Not great. The second though she could see it. A reluctant date turns into so much more than she could have ever imagined. When things start to get serious will Sierra pull back like she’s done in past relationships? Or will she actually give the prince a shot?
I enjoyed A Royal Mistake. The banter between the two was awesome. The Rooftop Crew totally embraced Adrian and made sure to push Sierra when she needed pushed. Piper and Rayne weaved a story that sucked me in and then spit me out at the end. I cannot wait to see what they do next. If you love a good royal story about a prince who doesn’t fit the mold look no further.

I am so glad to see Sierra's story! She was a bit misunderstood in the first book in this new series but I could so empathize with her!

This is Adrian and Sierra's story.

Sierra wins a contest for a date with Prince Adrian and when they meet, well....the prince doesn't make a great first impression!

Sierra is such a complex character, I admired how honest Piper and Rayne were with her feelings and emotions, both towards Adrian and with her friends.  I could empathize with her childhood, as a veteran and a military wife, my heart broke for her. Sierra is so strong, almost too strong, she has walls built so high around her that nobody can really see her true self.  Until Adrian...

Adrian, well he was princely in all the ways.  Sometimes headstrong and aloof, sometimes oblivious to what is going on around him, but boy when he loves, he loves hard and he knows just what Sierra needs.

I love this crew! This rooftop crew! The dynamic of this group of friends is fantastic and I cannot wait for the next story from them!

Sierra has won a date with Prince Adrian, her crush of all crushes. One date turns into Adrian living with Sierra as her roommate.

In all the fairy tales I've read, the prince and princess live happily ever after. However, in The Royal Mistake, the prince doesn't want the princess. In fact, he doesn't want to be the prince.

These two have a lot of battles to go through - with each other, with their families and the media. They have to decide if their love for each other is going to be enough when times get hard.

I think this just became my favorite Piper Rayne story to date.

Talent is when the author can give you a side character and make the reader dislike her with a passion. Then the author gives this character her own story and they make you cry your heart out for her.

Sierra was so relatable for me. She has this icy shell that is there to protect her from getting hurt. She's been there, done that and isn't in any hurry for repeats. Only a few really get to know Sierra.

I highly suggest reading this book and this series!

Ok, I'll be honest and say that I was not looking forward to A Royal Mistake because of how Sierra was in the My Bestie's Ex . I'd say by the end, I was about to come around to her, but Adrian kind of stole the show for me.

I wanted to get to know Sierra on a deeper level and to see why she is the way she is. And I'll say that her part in this story turned out to be a bit more emotional than I thought. I really did enjoy seeing the connection the she and Adrian had from the very beginning.

Adrian surprised me the most, he was so easygoing and rather different than other royal characters I've read about. He's probably the most chill royal I've read and I found that to be rather fitting for Sierra. I really enjoyed his character the most and just how sure he was of everything. Even with all his obligations to his family and country, he lead with his heart. He stood up for what wanted and there was no stopping him to get Sierra.

A Royal Mistake is the second book in The Rooftop Crew series, a story about new beginnings and lots of swoon worthy moments to keep you wanting for more.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Sierra Sanders, a twenty-seven year old journalist who has a bit of an obsession with royalty. It’s due to the various amounts of reading that she knows everything there is to know about Prince Adrian Marx, or so she thought. It would take winning a date with the prince to change her life forever. Sierra has always put her career first and when she finds out that there is going to be a promotion to become anchor at her job, she knows that she needs to think ahead. Meeting the prince gives her an insight to the real man behind all the pictures and articles she has read on him. Their chemistry is undeniable, so it becomes easier for her to let him be her roommate for the next two months in exchange for a candid story on him. This should have been her ticket to success, but the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to fall in love with him.

Prince Adrian Marx of Sandsal loves enjoying time with his friends and has no intention of becoming king. In fact, he thinks that going on a date with a mysterious woman for charity is a waste of time. His family has been more than accommodating in indulging his “finding yourself” phase as he runs around the world without taking on more royal duties. But they’ve had enough. The royal family is about to be exposed to a royal scandal and he is the only one that can help them from scrutiny. When he finds out that Sierra is a journalist, he knows that she will write about him and it’s his job to give her the right information. Yet, he wasn’t expecting to like being with her so much. He is immediately attracted to her caring and feisty personality. He knows that he has to go back home eventually and this time he is willing to spend the next two months of freedom before his future changes forever.

Not having read the first book in the series, I didn’t know what to expect before A Royal Mistake. Needless to say, the characters were relatable and entertaining to read. I found myself swooning over the characters right away. It’s their instant chemistry that had me reading nonstop until the very end. Prince Adrian definitely has an adventurous life, but he can also be caring and kind. Sierra is feisty and knows about what she wants and fights to get it. She has a truly emotional story herself and it was nice to see Adrian be there for her. The relationship that they have with secondary characters made the story that much more fun to read. I love the twists in the story, but I wasn’t thrilled with how fast it ended and how it ended. It looks like the story is interconnected with the rest of the series so I wouldn’t be surprised if Adrian and Sierra make future appearances. All in all, the story was great read and if you love a good royal romance then I would highly recommend checking out A Royal Mistake. :)

A Royal Mistake is my second experience with Piper Rayne's writing style and it was such an enjoyable read. The beginning was a bit slow but the pace of the story picked up gradually and I found myself glued to the pages.

Both protagonists are well-contoured and relatable. I loved their interactions, the banter, and their sizzling chemistry. Adrian is not your typical prince, in fact, he would gladly let his sister be the heir to the throne. And Sierra carries a lot of baggage, she puts up a cold facade to protect her heart but deep down she feels too much. The way their relationship starts is unconventional. There are secrets Adrian can't tell Sierra and there are some twists thrown into the plotline which make the story even more enjoyable. I might have wanted a bit more from that ending but overall it was an entertaining book. I recommend giving it a shot!

Once again the wonderful duo of Piper Rayne have created a world that I love visiting. The second book in The Rooftop Crew is another fantastic story in this series.

I really enjoyed this story and adored both Sierra and Adrian. I loved how they brought comfort to one another after both of them had been through difficult times and also how they managed to trust each other. There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, and some unexpected emotional parts as well.

Piper Rayne rocked the royal romance genre in A Royal Mistake. This story was everything I love in a Piper Rayne story; wit, funny moments, heat and a wonderful group of friends. A solid addition to a great series, and promises some other characters whose love stories I'm excited to read. I’ve enjoyed getting to know this group of friends and am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series, Rian and Dylan’s story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why did I wait so long to read a Piper Rayne novel. A Royal Mistake is my first read by Piper and Rayne and I loved it!!

Swoon. Prince Adrian is mischievous, easy going and rebellious. He carries huge responsibilities on his shoulders and runs when it becomes too much.

I really liked Sierra’s feisty and fiery personality. She bottles a lot of her emotions up from the loss of her mother and her strained relationship with her father, but Adrian is there for her and allows her to deal with her pain and hurt.

I devoured this book. Sometimes you just click with the way an author writes, and I definitely experienced that with the book. Piper and Rayne captivated my attention from the very first chapter and I literally couldn’t and didn’t want to stop reading.

A Royal Mistake is book two in a spin off series of the White Collar Brothers. I read this book first and I had no problem or confusion with the mention of the other characters, although I will definitely be going back and reading that series also.

5 Star Review A Royal Mistake (The Rooftop Crew #2) by Piper Rayne

I had a hard time liking or relating to Sierra in the first book in the series, My Bestie's Ex,
but it’s a Piper Rayne novel so I knew if anyone could change my opinion, they would. This is Sierra and Prince Adrian Marx’s story.

Whenever I see the name Piper Rayne, I know I am in for an entertaining read and A Royal Mistake was no exception. From the first to the last chapter, I was riveted to the roller coaster story that the authors wove.

As expected there was a lot more to Sierra than I initially thought. She is a reporter for the local television station and is infatuated by the Sandsal royal family, in particular Prince Adrian Marx. Winning a date with Prince Adrian, she is beyond excited. Sierra has had to overcome a great deal and I admired her focus and determination.

Adrian is not in a hurry to ascend the throne and yet it appears that is exactly what is about to happen. After a rocky start they both find that they enjoy each others company, despite the fact that Adrian is keeping some rather big secrets.

I will say that Piper Rayne managed to change my opinion of Sierra, perhaps it was the pairing with Adrian, they certainly were made for one another.

What will happen when the secrets are exposed? Can Adrian and Sierra’s blossoming relationship survive or is it doomed to fail?

There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, although having said that there were some emotional parts as well. It was also great to see the other members of The Rooftop Crew make an appearance and I am excited to see whose story is next.

It’s no secret that I love Piper Rayne. I loved that they wrote a romance that had a royal, fairytale feel. I completely devoured A Royal Mistake.

Sierra is a reporter. She has a fascination with the royals, so when the opportunity to win a date with Prince Adrian she enters. To her surprise she is the winner. Adrian isn’t a fan of being a royal, he doesn’t like the outdated practices. He wants something different. Their initial meeting was awkward and nothing like Sierra expected it to go, however, as the evening went on things changed. She got a glimpse at the real prince. Adrian wants a break, he isn’t ready to end his time with Sierra, however, he is cut off and needs a place to stay. It just so happens Sierra has an empty room.

I loved the connection between Sierra and Adrian. They supported each other. The comforted each other. They both grew up in very different lifestyles, however, they had both experienced tough times and were able to bond with each other. Adrian is super swoony! One he is a prince and two he is the caring, supportive, loving and will do everything he can to be there for Sierra, even when he barely knew her.

We got to know Sierra in My Bestie’s Ex and she seemed closed off and somewhat selfish, but after reading this book and getting to know more details about her background and her struggles it explains so much about her character. She opens up about her loss, her pain and comes to terms better with what happened.

A Royal Mistake is a MUST READ from Piper Rayne! I can’t wait to see what is next for my new favorite group of friends.

Sierra wins a date with a prince. You can see where this is going, right? Well, you’d be wrong. The date goes horrible at first. Adrian is dressed to unimpress and Sierra is so let down. After that initial impression, Adrian gets himself together and it goes pretty well until Adrian gets bored with the same old dinner and dessert. This is where their adventure really begins. I understood Sierra in the first book of this series. She was not liked by several people because of how she reacted to her best friend getting serious with her ex. Her attitude was expected and she had a lot to deal with. That was nothing compared to the emotions that come from her relationship with Adrian. He’s in it for the long term and wants to know all there is to know about Sierra. I think there was a lot Sierra didn’t even know herself. She opens up to him even though she knows he will have to return home at some point. After all a prince needs his country. Adrian was difficult for me at first. He’s a prince who doesn’t want his title and is disillusioned by his parents. He has his own difficulties with his life and has some trouble opening up to Sierra as well. They have guarded hearts for a reason and it’s difficult to let those walls down. Adrian did redeem himself by the end of this book and I have so much love for him now.

I loved this way more than I thought I would. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.

I wouldn’t say I disliked Sierra, but I definitely didn’t love her in the first book from this series. But I think we had to not love her in order to be okay with the previous couple. I ended up really enjoying her character in this book though. We got to know her: her past, her dreams, her hangups, etc. My heart went out to her.

As for Adrian, I didn’t love him in the very beginning, but he quickly grew on me. I wasn’t sure how him and Sierra would mesh, but it turned out that they were kind of perfect together. They complimented each other, and didn’t give up in the end despite the obstacles along the way. I would have loved to see more of Rowan, and even the roommates. I can’t wait for the next book after how this one ended, teasing us about what’s coming.

This was more emotional to me than some of their other books. There was aftermath of a death from years ago, there was quite a bit of family drama, etc. I cried at least once (although it was more like sobbed). I was hit with the feels, and I still haven’t recovered fully even while I typed this review. I highly recommend you check out this duo of authors. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read from them so far!

Royal romance done the Piper Rayne way, this has a LOT of heat, a great group of friends, and a heavy dash of emotion that's unexpected from this usually funny duo. Though I associate Piper Rayne with light, fun reads, that's not the vibe of this one - our heroine has a complicated past that can make her abrasive or cold, and our hero's family causes a lot of drama. It's steamy from the start, with chemistry that sparks right away and complications that soon follow. I won't say that I loved every minute of this one - I have definite issues with both the hero and the heroine - but it makes a solid addition to an otherwise great series, and gives insight into some other characters whose love stories I'm excited to read.

The story follows Sierra, who we met in the first book in this series (not required reading, but there are a lot of characters whose lives are interconnected). When she wins a date with her celebrity crush, Prince Adrian, she's up for one amazing night with him. Adrian is not at all what she expected, but they connect during their time together and share one steamy, steamy night. It's only supposed to be a one night stand... until Sierra inspires Adrian to get a taste of "normal" life, and he becomes her new roommate. The problem? Adrian's family is going through a scandal behind the scenes, and he might need to enter an arranged marriage as soon as he returns home.

I'll be honest and admit that after reading My Bestie's Ex... I didn't like Sierra AT ALL. She's got a strong personality that's not for everyone, and while this book shows her softer side, she's just never going to be my favorite kind of heroine. That being said, she's much mellower in this and while she's still kinda moody and emotionally disconnected, Adrian makes a great complement to her. While this has some of the lightness and humor that I love about Piper Rayne, the overall tone is heavier and steamier than I would've predicted. Adrian is one dirty talking prince, and their relationship heats up quickly. I prefer a slower burn, but I can admit that the timeline works for the story. To me, the biggest issue is how long Adrian keeps a game-changing secret from Sierra, and also how quickly it's resolved once out in the open. This story isn't the perfect fit for me as a reader, but I've loved getting to know this group of friends and am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series, which I'm already loving the sounds of. I received an ARC via Wildfire Marketing Solutions and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy book.

“You want to question my happiness? Maybe you should examine your own.”

Sierra is obsessed with royalty, especially Prince Adrian Marx. This obstinate journalist will have the biggest surprise of her life when she wins a contest in which the prize is a date with her idol. With high expectations, the first impression she will have on him will not be the best. For those who expected the Prince Charming portrayed on the covers of magazines, she has a beautiful shock of reality when faced with an ordinary guy, like any other.
And this date, which does not start very well, turns into something pleasant and fun, until it ends up in a race through the city dodging the bodyguards. And ending the night in a hotel room will be the icing on the cake.
The next day, what she doesn't even know is that she just got a roommate. Adrian knows that he will have to return home and assume a throne he does not want and deal with family problems that are not his own, but prolonging his return as much as possible will be his goal. Sharing the roof with Sierra and experiencing a common life will be an adventure. Until his biggest secret appears to disrupt his new life.
Betting on a reinterpretation of the old story of the ordinary girl and the prince, the authors give a new look and manage to add comical, common and everyday moments, without forgetting the romance and some steamy.
Adrian discovering a new world of possibilities is very interesting to follow. His joy at being elected employee of the month made me laugh.
Sierra is more reserved, hard and even cold and when we finally discover the reason, when her past is revealed, it is impossible not to see her in a new way, not to sympathize with her pain. But she still made me reticent. In the previous book she did not make a good impression on me and here in her story, despite understanding her a little better and even getting emotional in some scenes, I still find her irritating. Sorry, she didn't manage to win me.
I found the solution to the final problem very quick, I expected Adrian's parents to cause more problems. They accepted the change very quickly.
Adrian and Sierra were made for each other. The end could not have been different. The next book is the most awaited by me, after all Dylan is coming. Counting the days to release.

Secret Indulgence of mine is reading anything in the royal romance trope. This genre can also be hit or miss, from awesome to cheesy in a hot second. Piper Rayne did a good job with keeping it realistic and romantic in a fun and light atmosphere.

I didn’t read the first book, so I was unfamiliar with Sierra’s personality previously, but in this book, you could tell that she was learning and growing. Sierra did not have the best past, but in getting to know that portion of her life, it was nice to see her open up and grow up. Sierra is a huge Prince Adrian fan and wins a date with him. When she went to meet him, she was not expecting the cheese covered, t-shirt stained and sweatpants wearing slob. Little did she know this was a test for her.

Adrian is burdened with the having to take up the mantle of King. Despite having an older sister, Adrian is next in line. I really loved Prince Adrian. He is sweet, romantic and provided comfort for each other when they needed it. This Prince was a gem!

Kudos to Piper Rayne for writing a sweet romance with heat, funny characters and funny moments, with friends from The Rooftop Crew. This is the perfect Piper Rayne royal romance read.

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews

A sweet and fun romance.

I’m a huge fan of these authors and I really enjoyed the first book in the rooftop crew series so I couldn’t wait to read this one.

Sierra enjoys her job as a reporter for a local TV station but dreams of becoming an anchor and with the current anchor close to retirement, that dream may come true. She also religiously follows the Sandsal royal family; Prince Adrian in particular. When she wins a date with the prince she can’t wait to meet him but when she does, he’s not what she was expecting.

Prince Adrian has had enough of royal duties and responsibilities and wants to escape for a while. Faced with marrying someone he doesn’t love and being forced to be king, he finds a perfect way to escape being a prince and persuades his parents to give him 2 months to live his life as he wants before he returns home to his arranged marriage.

Since their date, Sierra has put Adrian in the friend zone but he’s determined to show her that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to win her heart, even if it means he loses his crown. Will Sierra be able to resist her prince forever or will she finally let her heart rule her head?

I really enjoyed this story. It was great to see a different side to Sierra since being introduced to her in book 1. Prince Adrian was a fun character and was a bit of a rebel which made the story interesting. It was great to catch up with the characters from the previous book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

After meeting everyone in the first Rooftop Crew book, I have to admit I wondered how the due behind Piper Rayne was going to introduce a full fledged Prince into the mix. They answered that in the very fun and entertaining, A Royal Mistake.

I was glad to see Sierra was the friend to get her chance at a happily ever after. After the way things unfolded in My Best Friend's Ex, it seemed fitting that she get the next chance. Reading A Royal Mistake, we get to see behind the walls she has built and start to see the caring woman beneath the snarky exterior.

Adrian is a character than I both liked and struggled with. I appreciated his desire to "be normal" and how quickly he adapted to doing things for himself. But, he seemed to have blinders on for just how difficult things could be when bucking the system to get what he wants.

Piper & Rayne do an excellent job on blending several different aspects into this story. We see both Sierra and Adrian face and deal with family issues as well as their own baggage. I think one of the biggest challanges for a story and series like this is the layers of stories that need to be maintained. Not only do we need to see glimpses of previous characters, but we need to see hints for what is coming for the next sets of stories as well. A Royal Mistake handled those story pieces very well and has me looking forward to the next book.
