When lies become the truth.

My name is Reina Ellis.
Popular.
Beautiful.
Untouchable.
Problem is, I remember none of it.

His name is Asher Carson.
Gorgeous.
Silent.
Dark.
Oh, and my future husband.

He has three rules for me:
I'll bow.
I'll break.
I'll pay for what I’ve done.

Problem is, I don’t remember what I’ve done, but I have a clue.
There was a fire.
A dead girl.
And I was there.

All The Lies is a dark new adult book that contains dubious situations some readers might find offensive and/or triggering. If you're looking for a hero, you won't find him in Asher Carson. Please don't read if any of that bothers you.

All The Lies is part of a duet and is not standalone.

I can’t do this to myself anymore. I've read the entire Rina Kent universe and these were the last two books I hadn't read yet, so I wanted to give them another chance as I couldn't even get halfway through the first time. At least now I'm sure I'll never read them because I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at what was happening here.

So what exactly went wrong here for me?

Asher Carson. I couldn't find this guy hot and mysterious at all. Every time he appeared, I wanted to laugh. Correction, it actually happened several times. Especially when Reina described him in aviators.

"As usual, the aviators sit on his arrogant nose like they’re a part of his face."

It’s random, but he reminded me of Pitbull then. It ruined the whole book for me.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ description

Also, I couldn't stop laughing every time she described him, like here.

"He steps out of the house, wearing dark jeans and a gray T-shirt. The clothes are nothing special, but on him, they appear elegant, majestic even."

Majestic? Girl, please. He is a college boy with daddy’s money, who thinks he is a god or something.

"He heads for the Mustang parked out front—of course an asshole drives such a beautiful car. It’s black, too, like his soul."

Not her comparing the color of the car to his soul. Are we back on wattpad?

"He smells of fresh laundry right out of the dryer, but also of the darkness of the night."

How can you know how the darkness of the night smells? Girl please. I’m begging you. He is just a man.

Don’t get me started on the way he talked to her.

“Shhh. Don’t talk. When I speak, you listen. When I order, you obey. Now, open that fucking mouth.”

He had some weird, questionable obsession with putting his fingers in her mouth. I didn't even get halfway through the book and he did it twice. Randomly. I can't even imagine what he touched before he did this to her. The first time he did it, he was in the hospital with her. The bacteries on him *shudders*

The last thing.

"God, I feel as evil as Hitler."

"Wait, maybe I was Hitler in a previous life. After all, we’re both dictators with a tendency for craziness."

As Hitler? With a tendency for craziness?? Craziness?!?

This is the worst comparison I've ever read in my life. This was supposed to be funny? He murdered millions of people. Rina, please read some history books before writing something like that.

As you can see, I'm definitely not going to read the sequel.

Amazing from start to finish!

This was like no other amnesia romance book I have ever read. It was that and so much more. There were so many secrets, mysteries and lies. The reader was clued into one thing from the beginning that the girl with amnesia (Reina, or Rei for short), didn’t know, but even that didn’t offer much in the way of help in figuring things out.

This was such a complicated amalgamation of things going on that it was thrilling and brilliant and I was left wondering who was good and who was bad. Was the Hero good or Bad? Was the Heroine good or bad? Was there one or more other people out to murder the heroine? And were they really after her or someone else? I ate up every word of this book and loved every minute.

Reina is engaged to Asher who from the first time she “meets” him when she is in the hospital after being beaten and losing her memory, is calling her a Monster and telling her he owns her and is going to make her pay. Though Reina doesn’t know for what. As the story goes on, Reina learns she, in fact was a monster and about the most horrible person she can imagine.

Reina also finds herself attracted to her fiancé and she is in danger. She has changed since she lost her memory and doesn’t want to be the awful person she used to be. She also doesn’t want Asher to see her as the monster he thinks her to be.

The romance between Asher and Reina is quite steamy. I give this a heat index of five 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 out of five flames! Asher definitely doesn’t want to give up the hate he feels for Reina but he can’t keep his hands off her. There are some big secrets between them but Reina doesn’t remember and Asher isn’t talking.

The book ends in a huge cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next book which will come out within a few weeks of this one. Luckily Rina Kent is quick to release new books. It is almost unbelievable how terrific her books are for how quickly she turns them out! The plots are so complex, characters are well developed and world building is awesome. I have loved every single one I have read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

lies

'ALL THE LIES' is the first full length romance book in Rina Kent's 'Lies & Truths' duet.

First off each month I'm going to fulfill my own reading challenge and that is to read something new/something old/something out of my comfort zone/a new genre/something I wouldn't usually even give a second glance too. Or something by a new to me author.

So this book is March's challenge!!

This book here was by a 'New to me author' it's just seconds since I closed off the last page.
Annnndddd I can't wrap my brain around what I've just read. I don't even know how to go about writing up this review. But I can honestly say though that not even the end of the first chapter and I was hooked, I couldn't put it down!! Didn't want to put it down!! Such a unique read!! I went into this blind, tiptoed in knowing that I'd not read anything by this author previous, but now closing out of that last page, I need more, I want to read more by this author!! If like me you've never read anything by this author, take the plunge, this was so good!! I really can't wait to see how this author wraps up this series!!

So many twists and turns, what's right and what's wrong? Like that song 'Will the real Slim Shady please step up!! You'll understand my way of thinking when you read this!! Or not!! lol

* The guy on the cover with his glaring and pouty look is kind of hot in a scary kind of way *

"Welcome back to your custom-made hell, monster."

Reina wakes up in the hospital without any recollection of her entire life, she couldn’t remember why she was there or knowing her name or her age or…. Her fiance. But the first thing she hears in the hospital is her fiance's voice who calls her a monster and threatens to break her. But why? Why this much of animosity and where does it come from?

”You awe me a life, and I will ruin yours as payback.”

"All The Lies" by Rina Kent is my first read by this author and surprisingly I loved it! It’s a dark new adult (semi-dark) story and full-on angst, an amnesia romance with twists and turns, enemies-to-lovers story and I loved it for all of that! It was unputdownable and I read it in one sitting and the whole time on the edge of my seat! Told in dual POV, 1st person. It’s the first installment in the "Lies & Truths Duet" and ends with a huge cliffhanger! Now after reading all the lies, I need all the truths that I can get from them! Overall, I enjoyed this so much and hope you love it as well!

I’m so highly confused but I think that’s the point.

I love that Asher’s main descriptors are gentle but cold. Interesting combination.

Can somebody please explain to me why if a guy like Asher existed in real life I’d no doubt hate his guts. But because it’s in a book I adore him. Why? What’s wrong with me?

With Asher’s friends, this is starting to feel vaguely like a recycled version of The Royal Elite series. Because Owen is obviously Ronan.

For the first half I was totally into it, I liked the mystery. The fact that she has amnesia but Asher refuses to believe her. She discovers what a horrible person she was, (very reminiscent of Never Never by CoHo).

But then the second half turned almost self indulgent all about school and cheerleading (boring, boring, boring). Even with the interactions with the mysterious G, it was barely enough to keep my attention.

Ugh, I hate cliffhangers! Why couldn’t we just skip all the filler and narrow this down to one book?

Not feeling this one. There’s a lot of disconnect between the characters and the story doesn’t flow. It’s rather all over the place trying hard to keep it mysterious and suspenseful. Not sure I understand the H or h, their motivation or attraction and who they are trying to portray. I’m disengaged. This definitely fails because it’s sorely in need to extensive development. Things just happen instantly with no rhyme or reason. I’ll read the conclusion just to satisfy my curiosity but not because it’s good.

Dark romance
Safety:
-Each other first and only
-Never even kissed other people

Triggers:
- he is a complete asshole, hurts her physically by grabbing her too hard, press her bruises, grabs her throat until she can’t barely breath

I like it but where the fuck was her backbone?
Body betrayal betrayal syndrome pissed me off

He mentally tortures her, I hate that shit but I knew it was a dark romance so I sign up for this toxic thing, but babe you have to make him work.

I really really fucking like that this is totally safe, he was never even interest in any other girl so this aspect of the story was truly romantic

There was a “my slut” shit going on and I cringe reading that scenes it wasn’t sexy at all I’m laughing thinking about it

****authors you should take notes this is what we want on a dark ROMANCE, that “bully” shit with a whore and a virgin who were best friends but he couldn’t kept in his pants is not romantic, is a sexist double standards crap

The straight, chiseled jawline and the thick brows give him a fatally attractive edge—the kind serial killers have.

First red flag, I mean why the hell the author would emphasis the attractiveness of the hero to a serial killer? I heard stories about how girls are crazy for killers and it also has a psychological reason of why it happens. I understand that the author is trying to make the hero look like badass but honey, you don't need to be a serial killer to be a badass.

I don't know if a sane person would feel serial killers as handsome and dark. Most of them have heavy issues and also why the fuck is this even a topic? It just doesn't make any sense. This is seriously disturbing.

This book reminded me a lot of Deviant King The hero bullies the heroine but she falls for him. The same pattern, the only difference is the plot and amnesia. It was also interesting because the readers were constantly on edge for the mystery which was hard to figure.

“Fuck, you taste like sweet torture.”

I’ve died and ascended into heaven, I’m certain of it, because nothing this perfect exists. Enemies to lovers is my absolute favourite kind of romance to devour—an honest affliction and irresistible fascination more addictive than coffee. Weaved with the most thrilling and compelling amnesia narratives ever written, Rina Kent decimated me in the best conceivable manner with All the Lies. Shame on me for not reading her twisted romances sooner.

“You’re mine to screw and destroy, my ugly monster. It’s time to get used to that.”

Asher Carson, the broodiest and moodiest anti-hero to ever ruin me, pulled me into an inescapable vortex of disordered emotions and bewildered thoughts. Enticed me towards his unavoidable darkness and ruthless nature of torture and torment. Asher’s slow but sure transformation made me ache to have more because there’s so much to discover behind the conceited disinterest and his relentless cold exterior.

In adverse situations and uncertain circumstances, Reina Ellis is all sassiness and feistiness. Her confidence withered and coldness vanished, but she’s determined to retrieve her buried memories and become a better, kinder version of herself. Reina’s encased in uncertainties and unanswerable questions. But God, I love Reina’s tenacious attitude in difficult scenarios and the way she bit back at Asher.

Who knew behind such a beautiful face lurked a nightmare?

With hate filled scenes, an undeniable connection and heated, fervent banter, I damn near combusted from such intense chemistry that bloomed and flourished. In slow but sure fashion melted as sexual tension burned and scorched between Asher and Reina. I couldn't resist the push and pull between the characters—it made this duet that more of an allure!

Without hesitation, I recommend All the Lies. Between a good written amnesia narrative, the unforeseen turns and twists, and the connection between Asher and Reina, you will be left ecstatic for all the sordid outcomes—my head is filled with numerous theories and endless questions. I adored the suspense-filled and angst-ridden nature of this romance, I can't wait to witness the intricacies unwind.

“You're a psycho.”
“It takes one to know one, my ugly monster.”

This book was an unexpected fantastic read and I am so glad to pick this author. With complexive characters, situations overdone, and deep secrets veiled I was smitten from first to last. The mind- fuckery of this book has left me awed with Rina Kent's brains on creating this story.

Reina Ellis wakes up in a hospital with a different personality, amnesia and a revenge seeking fiancé. Asher Carson has an agenda which involves Reina and he leaves no extend of fuckery to torture her. Reina struggles to fit in this second life as a new person and is apprehensive of everything she can't remember. With Asher determined to make her pay for things she can't remember and knowing she was mean and horrible person before, Reina begins to set things straight.

Asher is the moodiest and hateful person here. He portrays a dark and ruthless nature. His cold exterior has a transformation sometimes which makes me want to discover the reason of his mood by turning to the end of the book. His confusion of a changed Reina was encased with confusions and unanswerable questions. Asher and Reina's relationship was a time ticking bomb waiting to unleash.

This is a bully romance, amnesia, hate/love themed book which has unforeseen situations and sordid outcomes. The book ends with a cliffhanger which leaves us with bewildered thoughts.

A story where the twists and turns have a vital role to play in developing the essential plot.
It was full of secrets, suspenseful, intriguing and angsty.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t convinced with the main characters’ chemistry or connection.

I can feel the rina kent obsession coming on strong, even though this seems like a lower rating, it’s only because I find shorter books difficult to rate and this felt like more of a set up for book 2, as opposed to a complete story, but it’s not a bad book at all, it’s fast paced, exciting and dark 👀

Considering this has the amnesia trope in it which I hate, I actually couldn’t put this book down, it was intriguing from the start, mysterious and a page turner. I wanted answers, and I found myself trying to piece together information even though we only ever get Reina’s POV so I felt just as frustrated as her trying to get answers.
Rina writes the besttttt mmc’s, Asher is no exception, I hope we get his pov in book 2, im dying to find out what’s going on 😩 I love a revenge plot 🫶🏽

i really enjoy this author so it sucks to have to give her 1 star. the plotline of the guy hating the girl but she did something she can’t remember is so overdone in bully romances tbh. the chemistry was quite literally nonexistent and i just found this to be rather boring honestly. i hate the amnesia trope and i thought i’d like it but really it was fucking boring which is worse than hating it

***Some SPOILERS after Sexual History but the rest are in book2's SPOILERS:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...***

Good flow/pacing. Good emotionality with simmering emotional & sexual tensions. Unpredictable & exciting mystery-suspense plot weaved in well with the romance—unsure & kept on my toes re: who's the villain who'd been trying to entrap & hurt h a few times after she got out of the hospital & why h & her twin sis were separated for years & where h was all those years & why her twin sister was so mean & manipulative & the ID of the Cloud0003 guy who her twin sister had been having a secret affair with & texting.

Good char & char dev/rom & rom development so far. Liked h's mix of being down-to-earth/caring/observant and direct/assertive when called for. She didn't understand how superficial & mean she was told she acted before her amnesia so she actively tried to make amends to those she hurt. She was sensitive but didn't complain & instead would stand right back up to right the wrong. H's character was largely quiet yet could tell how menacing/vengeful/conniving and surprised he'd seomtimes get with h. Without words, H showed his unwelcome & uncontrollable attraction to h largely because she was acting & talking so different than his pre-amnesia fiance.

Sexual History:
20yo h didn't seem sexually experienced when she was with H. H was possibly the 1st one she'd ever BJ-ed but she can't remember. Their 1st time smexxing didn't seem to have any impediment so either h was a virgin & was just well-lubricated or she had sex before H. H had never smexxed h's twin sister since she kept playing games with him & other people. No info re: his other lovers.

Plot:
From the start we already know that almost-20yo h has an identical twin-sister she was just secretly & briefly reunited with after years apart & that they were immediately chased so both had to run away apart but h got hit on the head after she was about to rescue her sister from being dragged by some hooded man. Chapter 2 has h waking up @ a hospital with amnesia about who she is & her life. She can't believe she's been engaged to her wealthy guardian's son 21yo H (since they were both 15yo as a stipulation to her father's inheritance) since he sadistically calls her "monster" & threatens her. She wished him back to Oxford where he'd been studying in the last 3 years but he ended up staying & going to her private college now too.

Something doesn't sit right when her guardian (who's her deceased-dad's BFF) told her that her mother died @ childbirth & her real-estate tycoon father died 3years ago too as well as the fact that she was the college-cheerleading captain. She soon finds out that she was like Regina of movie Mean Girls who was popular & pretty & manipulated people with dares & such. Ends with h the morning after she & H finally smexxed and she overhears him @ his beloved younger sister's gravesite promising revenge against h for what h did to drive his sister to suicide 3 years ago.

Oh wow! This was so unexpected and soo good. This is a new for me author, but I will definetly check more of her work from now on.

All the lies is the first installment in Lies and Truths Duet , and let me tell you, I LOVED it.
This has amnesia trope , something I don't often read to be hones, mystery, secrets, lies, steam, complex characters, flawless writing and a gripping and intriguing plot.
I have so many questions..who is bad? who is good? Is the good one bad actually? 🤣🤣
Reina has amnesia after an attack in the forest, and when she wakes up the first thing she is meet with is her fiance , and from the look in his eyes he totally hates her.
She is lost, has no idea who she is and why everybody hates her, but as she finds out, she was quite a Regina George from Mean girls before her accident.
The pull she has towards Asher is so strong , and the chemistry this two had sizzled the pages.

This is such a angsty book, I suspect everyone, revenge is the key word here.Everyone wants it, and all is directed at a single person. Anyways I m reading the next book because I need answers !

Ahhhh! What did I just read?! All The Lies was absolutely amazing!! It was sexy and edgy and so shocking my head was spinning. I was so consumed with Asher and Reina's story it isn't even funny. As every revelation and flashback occurred I was more and more intrigued. Reina and Asher's story was 5 star ENEMIES TO LOVERS GOLD!!!

Without giving away any spoilers, after a mysterious accident, Reina Ellis wakes up with amnesia. She was beaten so badly that she has no recollection of who she is nor does she know anything about her fiancé who outwardly hates her, Asher Carson. But the tension between them could not be denied!

GAH!!! I loved this story so much. It was so compelling and had me hooked from the first page. I loved Reina and Asher's chemistry, angry banter and the blazing chemistry between them. Their connection had my adrenaline pumping after every page!

Overall, this story was fantastic. I loved how even though Reina felt powerless and at a disadvantage, she attempted to right her many wrongs and rewrite her own story. Her strength and perseverance was admirable. But the suspense throughout the story in addition to that OMG ending was crazy!!! Now I can't wait for the conclusion to this fabulous duet! 5 stars! ~Ratula

4 ”Angsty suspenseful” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

”You’re a psycho.” I breathe out, my heart stammering.
It keeps beating and pulsing like crazy, as if it’ll soon stop and is using up all of its energy.
Asher’s lips pull up in a cruel smirk. “It takes one to know one, my ugly monster.”

It’s no secret that I am Rina Kent’s huge fan. I mean, no one does the twists and turns the way she does. Whatever you predict is going to happen, the unexpected happens. I am in awe of this author’s mind. This was just as mysterious and erotic as I have come to expect from this author. I gobbled it up in one seating. The book wasn’t lengthy.

The book starts with a mysterious prologue, an accident. Because of which Reina looses her memory (short term amnesia). When she wakes up, she finds that she has a fiancé who is hell bent or hurting her calling her a monster, Russian mafia who wants her too and a cop who accuses of her murdering someone. I definitely wouldn’t wanna be in her position. Despite her circumstances, I felt that she was really brave in handling things. She gets few thoughts which reminds her she never breaks easily.

Asher’s dark eyes meet mine, and my world shifts for a second.
How can a look hold so many promises and threats and…something else I can’t identify?
A slow humming starts at my spine and twists the bottom of my stomach. This is what it feels like to be caught in someone’s orbit.
It’s dangerous. It’s wrong. It’s…thrilling.

Adjusting in normal life turns out to be a tough task too once she realises that she was a cruel bitch to everyone but intends on making amends. She shows she can be a good person which too surprises everyone. The one she’s hurt the most is Asher. He ends up being her saviour every time an attack happens on her.

He watches me closely, but it’s not intimidation. It’s almost like…he’s seeing me in a different light.
A new light.
A brighter light.
“Didn’t you…” My voice catches and I clear my throat. “Didn’t you say you don’t want anything to do with me?”
“You keep barging in anyway.” He licks the shell of my ear one more time. “It’s time I trap you.”

Asher was a mystery. I couldn’t really decipher him. He was hot one moment and cold the next. His energy was dark. We can totally see that his intentions towards Reina are not right. There is definitely a strong chemistry between the two. The scenes were hot as ever.

The reason why I didn’t give it a full five stars is because one, the memory loss idea was similar to her previous books. Two, it didn’t have to be a duet. Otherwise, this book was a hit. The cliffhanger I did not see coming. It ended with a bang. It’s a good thing the second book is already out.

⭐ 5 twinkling stars ⭐

"Never look back. If you don't look back, you run faster. If you don't look back, no one will catch you."

All the Lies is the first book in the Lies and Truths Duet by Rina Kent.

Rina Kent became one of my all time favourite author after the Royal Elite series by her and after reading this book she has officially driven me crazy.

“You’re mine to screw and destroy, my ugly monster. It’s time to get used to that.”

Reina Ellis wakes up in a hospital after a tragic incident she has no memory of. She finds out things about 'old Reina' that she doesn't like and is trying to change herself. She also finds out that she is engaged to Asher Carson, a boy she hates to love.

Who knew behind such a beautiful face lurked a nightmare?

Asher Carson hates Reina more than anything. He is torturing and threatening her and thinks that Reina is still her old self and the 'changed Reina' is just an act.

"Come out," he challenges, as if I'm a bet he's trying to win. "Show me your ugly face
- your only face. Stop pretending to be a saint when the devil runs in your veins."

This book is a maze. It's a whole, big game whose players I haven't even figured out yet. I have so many theories and I'm honestly going crazy. Reina Ellis is a true queen and I don't mean the snobby, bitchy old Reina, I mean the new one. She stands her own and doesn't back down from a challenge.

I love a good bully romance and this one just topped my list. It's a dark, twisted story about love and betrayal. I loved the mystery stalker agenda and I can't wait to know who he is.

“You're a psycho.”
“It takes one to know one, my ugly monster.”

The chemistry between Asher and Reina burned the pages. The contradictory moments of push and pull, hate and love, tears and ecstasy were portrayed beautifully! Obviously I still have questions, because the ending was pure toture!!

“Fuck, you taste like sweet torture.”

All the lies made my head spin and heart ache because I couldn't figure out what's to come next. This book was all kinds of angsty deliciousness wrapped in a sensational writing.

Not sure how I feel about this book so far. Unlike the elite series I didn’t feel the chemistry between the main MC’s especially from the H’s part. It was very difficult to get an opinion or feeling about the H as his character wasn’t fleshed out enough in this book. I am hoping that next book will be better and have the things I felt lacking in this book so far.

I enjoyed this one a lot, it’s the first book in a duet and has such a mysterious vibe that it instantly captured my attention.
Reina Ellis awakens in the hospital with amnesia, attacked under suspicious circumstances she has no memories of her past.
Her apparent fiancé Asher Carson hates her claiming she ruined his life and calls her monster, he takes every opportunity to express his sheer contempt and disgust and revels in Reina’s pain suffering and bewilderment.

As Reina settles back into her old life attending college and throwing herself back into cheerleading she finds the person she once was abhorrent.
A shallow superficial cruel individual that delighted in others pain and humiliation.
She hates her best friend and everyone seems scared of her the ultimate mean girl, the police also want to question her about the suspicious circumstances in which she was found.
There’s also someone after Reina wanting to destroy her and I had my suspicions straight off about just who Reina really is and just who was tormenting her.

Asher is also struggling with his attraction to the new Reina and he can’t work it what game she is now playing.
He hates her, but craves her at the same time, but just what exactly is his end game in regards to her.
Secrets and lies abound with this one, it was definitely unusual and very interesting and easily kept my attention.
