'Til the Last Lyric

Rate this book
Once upon a time…

There was a little girl who believed in fairy tales and happily ever afters.

Hoping. Praying. Waiting…For her prince to come.

Together they’d conquer the world. Slaying dragons, demons, and villains. Until her Prince Charming let his demons prevail. She cried and begged and prayed.

She hated him. She loved him. She couldn’t save him.

“I’m sorry.”

“I love you.”

Were five words she despised more than anything. Her fairy tale had become her worst nightmare. She didn’t know how much more she could take. She didn’t know love could turn into hate. There were so many things she didn’t know.

Especially, how to tell him, “No.”

Cash and his Junie!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌏
Character development: 😚🙂😁😍🥰

The heroine: Journey (a.k.a. Junie) - she is a college journalism student who is on tour in Europe with the band Life of Debauchery. She grew up with Cash McGraw and loved him for as long as she can remember. She knows his secret and knows how much it tortures his soul.

The Hero: Johnny Cash McGraw (a.k.a. Cash Motherf*ckin McGraw) - he is the frontman of the biggest band in the world. He did something for someone else when he was still a starving artist and has regretted his choice ever since. Though what he did allowed him to get everything he ever thought he wanted, he hasn’t been happy. He uses drugs and alcohol to forget.

The Story: Since Journey came back into Cash’s life he has been feeling things he hasn’t felt in years. She is good for him in a way no other has been before. However, when they go home to face the past, things don’t go quite as expected. The one thing I really don’t like is foreshadowing and in this one Journey comes right out at one point where she has to make a decision and says that is the point she made the wrong decision, one that would end up causing them all pain.

It is hard for me to go forward after that, with knowing that what happens will lead to a bad place. I would almost like for it to just happen right away so we could get to the place where things start to get better. Like the first book, this one had a very emotional storyline and it was very good. The romance was terrific and the narration was spectacular. It was duet narration and Marcio Catalano, Addison Barnes and Troy Duran who all did a terrific job.

Til The Last Lyric is the conclusion to the very tumultuous relationship of rock star god Cash McGraw and Journey Pierce. This story had it’s ups and downs while being flooded with angst and heartbreak that you couldn’t help but feel something for.

After reading the From the First Verse and being a bit disappointed with it, I was curious to see how this story was going to wrap up and if the author was going to delve more into Cash’s past. Picking up right where the last book left off, This story jumped right into Cash and Journey’s new relationship and moving forward. We were given a little glimpse of what was life like on the road touring and we were able to see it through Journey’s eyes as well. With the odds against them and Cash still running away from his past, to say this couple had a hell of a start is an understatement.

I have to say that I really liked Journey as a heroine and even though she was young, there was something mature and motherly about her from the very beginning. She was smart, headstrong in some moments, and she knew exactly what she wanted. I’ve had a problem with Cash since reading the Pierced Hearts series and as much as I tried to warm up to him, something always held me back and because of that I think my perception of him was hindered for this duet. He did a lot of sh*t I was not cool with and I just couldn’t care enough for him despite his turnaround towards the end.

If you’ve read this author’s previous books and you love bad boys rock star heroes, then this duet is for you.

Rock star Romance

Till the Last Lyrics is the turbulent conclusion to Cash and Journey’s story in the Life of Debauchery duet. M. Robinson was written a story of addiction, hope, and all-consuming love here and I devoured it word for word. Since reading her Pierced Hearts duet I have been obsessed with her books. I even went ahead and bought the first books in many of her older series because I love the way she tells her stories. So, it comes as no surprise this this one consumed my heart while reading it. In fact, I loved this one so much that I read it in one sitting. Journey and Cash’s story is one readers won’t have a hard time investing in and you’ll be rooting for these two the whole way through. I absolutely loved it!

I’m going to leave this review short because it is the conclusion to the duet, and I don’t want to spoil it for readers. I will say though that it’s a mentally draining book because the hero suffers from addiction. If you’ve ever known someone who is an alcoholic or drug addict, you’ll know how draining it is, and that’s no different with reading it through fictional characters. M. Robinson uses care in writing about it but also makes it realistic which is why it affected me so much as a reader. It’s also nice to see that they aren’t PERFECT and deal with real life issues that many people in the world do. So, I appreciate this a lot.

Wrapping it Up: Till the Last Lyric is a raw, consuming love story and the perfect ending to some of my favorite characters stories. I loved Harley and Jackson in her previous duet and felt like this one was absolutely stunning. I heard so much about Cash from the other books and actually experiencing his story was wonderful. That being said, I recommend ALL three of her previous duets (I haven’t read her older titles, but I bet those are fantastic too). If you start with the Pierced Heart duet, you’ll see how the following two are set up.

What a Journey!! (No pun intended) Cash and Journey continue their rocky relationship in part two of the “life debauchery duet.” With the surprise cliffhanger in book one we follow Cash McGraw through his rise to rocker fame, his feelings for Journey “Junie” Pierce and all that he has been through in between. He is his own worst enemy at times with all that he does to himself. Can he ever truly be redeemed or is Junie to late to save him from himself? Drugs, Rock&Roll, and Self loathing is what Cash has made of his life. Can he finally make amends with the past and be better...for her...for himself? This takes place when Cash is 30 yrs old and Journey is 18 yrs old. This is an emotional roller coaster with all the feels. A beautifully told story of passion, self reflection and healing! Have your tissues ready, you’ll need them! True love that you feel deep within your soul is what these two have. Loved it!! Told in dual POV

ARC received for an honest review

I have been reading M. Robinson since her very first release. Every time I receive a new book, I tell myself "this time she won't rip my heart to shreds."

And I was doing really well and then BAM - my heart hit the floor, just in time for her to stomp on it... again.

Cash and Journey's story is not an easy one to read. If you have read her Good Ol' Boys series, I felt this story was most like Austin and Briggs story.

I had a love/hate relationship with Cash. He was such a douche most of the time and I wanted to hate him for his actions, but my heart hurt for him as much as he was hurting in himself.

I don't want to give anything away about this tale, as I feel that you need to go in a little blind (I mean, you have to have read the first book, so not totally blind) and feel the raw, gritty, heartbreaking emotions.

And yes, Ms Robinson did get my tears, and I am sure she could hear me cussing her out from the opposite side of the world.

I hurt, I cried and hurled my Kindle across the room in frustration. And I loved every second of it.

Now I am waiting impatiently to have my heart destroyed again.

***3,5 "I'm lost without you!!! stars***

THE DUET IS COMPLETE! AVAILABLE NOW!

"The past is a great place, and I don't want to erase it or to regret it. I don't want to be its prisoner either." -Mick Jagger

The truth is that I'm having issues with Cash since the "Pierced Hearts" duet and even though, the things smothered a little bit between us in the first part, I'm not really sure that i saw him in a different light in here.
Maybe i was expecting a little bit more of the second part...
Maybe i needed for Cash to accept sooner his mistakes and to man up, but I didn't get it and i'm a little bit disappointed... He just kept doing what he knew to do good!!! Fucked up everything around him!!!

"All I ever wanted was for them to be proud of me and now look... I was everything they didn't want. I'd become my own worst nightmare."

Well, the book picked up exactly from the moment that the first part had stopped and while i thought that this time Cash will fight to bring back into his life the people that he loved and whom loved him back, in the first sign of discomfort he run away...
And then the book focused on his new relationship with Journey...
For a while the things were great between them and around them...
But Cash's demons and weaknesses roared their head for once again and Cash got lost in a sea of regrets, guilts, and vices!!!!
Nothing could get through him... Not even poor Journey!!!

"I had everything I'd ever wanted now that she was here with me. I thought her presence would make the demons go away.
It didn't."

Honestly, my heart was breaking for this girl!!!! For the faith that she had on him!!!!
She had the illussion that she could help him and that her love could be enough...
But she was so wrong!!!!
Cause she had to go to war to fight with an addiction than it was larger than her and more powerful!!!
Still, she was there behind him and she was ready to do anything for him...
Until she realized that the only things that could help the boy that she had love for all her life was Cash himself!!!

"He doesn't deserve you, just like he didn't deserve Harley or Bailey."
"Jackson, I can't do that. Exactly how you fought to bring your person back, I'm going to fight for mine."

"I'm fighting a battle I can't win."

I won't lie to you!!!
I never fell in love with Cash, but darn, the last six chapters destroyed me...
I was crying like a baby and my heart was breaking for everyone....
But still, I am so furious with Cash!!!
His stubborness and big ego ruined many lives and i don't know if i can forgive him for that!!!!
I was feeling his pain, but his actions pissed me off so much!!!

"I was my own worst enemy.
Then.
Now.
Infinitely."

"You should have never showed back up in my life. I won't let you go now, Junie. You're mine. Do you understand me?"

As for Journey??? For once again, i think that her part in here wasn't so big but it was to the point...
She didn't deserve what Cash was doing to her!!!
But she was a strong woman with a beautiful soul and she was determined to stay by his side!!!
But still, i believe that the book had more to do with Cash and the amends that he had to make to stop feeling so lost and hollow inside...

"I just want you to see what I do. What everyone sees in you. You're not fucked up. You just think you are. I wish you could see yourself for who you really are."
"Why?... You see it for both of us."

"Around and around, I tumbled in his bed of lies covered in roses. The thorns of his truths marring my love for him. On this endless cycle of his regret and redemption. I was tossed out and a little bruised with each sequence."

I loved that, for once again, i saw many favorite characters in this book...
Dylan broke my heart so many times in here, but i get it!!! I totally do!!!
I loved that i saw Harley and Jackson to be more calm in their lives at the end...
And i think that the relationship with Bailey was working out as it supposed to be after everything that had happened in the past!
And wow!!!! Ramirez's son is next??? Hell yeah!!!!

"People make mistakes.
The Good Ol' Boys.
The Jamesons'.
The Pierces'.
Every one of us had our own stories to tell that were filled with trials and tribulations, truths and lies, heartache and redemption.
No one had any room to talk.
At the end of the day, all that mattered was we were all family."

Book DEVOURED!

First thoughts: This book has been my most anticipated read this year. Going back into the world of Johnny and June aka Journey was a surreal experience. I am still reeling, drowning in all the emotions. This story took me on a wild ride, revealing new details about our reigning couple that tore at my heartstrings.

Ugh this author excels at making you think you know all, only to ripe the rug out from underneath you. It would be a lie if I said I didn’t tear up at times. HOLY HECK... I can’t stop thinking about all. Everyone one needs the poetic and lyrical words that flow through this book. I want to share the details, for a lively discussion about what this story did to me. I won’t cause you need to experience it for yourself. Ok heading off to the spoiler room, either that or I am calling my therapist. Wait, I don’t have a therapist! Eek!

Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

And yet again The Queen of Angst had me on the edge of my seat from page one!
Til the Last Lyric was an epic end to an amazing duet.

The emotional rollercoaster had me concerned for the safety of my kindle. Cash McGraw is the broken hero that every girl would kill to fix.

Cash and Journey’s story will have you glued to the pages and at times make it feel like your heart is literally breaking.

I highly recommend! You need this duet in your life!

**DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU HAVE READ From The First Verse! This book is the conclusion to FTFV**

The conclusion to Cash and Journey's story is a beautiful, heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, soul shattering, and intense read. My emotions were all over the place and while I was reading 'Till The Last Lyric, my anxiety was going through the roof. This book literally takes a toll on your emotions. One minute you'll be smiling and laughing and then the next you'll be crying. I've sworn on many occasions that Ms. Robinson loves putting her readers on this intense emotional rollercoaster. She actually had me saying "Please tell me it's not true!!" on two different parts in this book. When it comes to M's previous books, I've NEVER cried as much as I did with this book. My tears were flowing like a river.

If you are looking for a book that will tear at your heart and give you a book hangover! I highly recommend reading M. Robinson's books!! She is one of those authors who you won't regret reading! Once again, Bravo M!! I'm a crying mess...but I wouldn't trade this feeling for anything in the world!!

‘Til The Last Lyric is the best book Monica’s ever written. It is a poetic masterpiece that crushed my heart and now Cash McGraw owns my soul. M weaved an epic journey that will blow your mind. I didn’t even want her to give Cash a book I hated him so much. Well I was so wrong because Cash sang to my soul in a way I’ll never forget. This story devastated me and filled me with so much hope that it stole my breath more than once. I couldn’t even contain my emotions or control my tears. This book is a destructive, beautiful, all consuming stunning ride that you will want to get off of and at the same time wish would never end!

**SPOILER FREE DUET REVIEW**

4.5 Stars

“It may have been in pieces, but I gave you the best of me.” – Jim Morrison

M Robinson certainly pulls no punches when she turns on the angst and emotion in Cash McGraw’s raw and gritty story. A rock star, friends to lovers’ duet that took us from past to present throughout, the emotion gripped our hearts, bringing us to tears – tears of hope, frustration and pain. Cash and Journey’s story isn’t a pretty one, but it is compelling reading!

‘How could she leave behind the love of her life, when all he was trying to do was bury them alive?’

Cash McGraw is the only boy in a family of four children, and from an early age, Cash (named after Johnny Cash) knew music was in his blood. Always warring with himself to prove he could be more than he felt his family expected of him, Cash often let pride become his enemy, causing tension between his family and his best friend, culminating in Cash turning his back on his hometown to pursue his dream of becoming a rock star.

‘Behind every song was a story of the person who created it. You could hear it in my voice, see it in my performance, experience it with me in this moment in time. I hid behind my guitar, but the music and rhythm always found its way into the deepest parts of my soul.
Stripping me bare, I gave it my all.’

Journey Pierce was the little girl who idolised the older Cash – twelve years age difference, soon became insignificant when, at thirty years old, the eighteen year old Journey crashes back into Cash’s life at a time when he’s swept up in the sex, drugs and rock lifestyle he feels is his right, being part of the hugely successful Life of Debauchery rock group.

“I’m going to show you what love is, Cash McGraw! You’ll see, I’m going to show you.”

The young Journey stirs something foreign in Cash’s heart, but Cash is man plagued by demons – many, many demons. Bloody hell, this guy had turned his self-destructive lever on to maximum, many times putting our hearts through the wringer! But our hearts bled for him. The relationship he had with his family as well as himself, gutted us.

‘Cash affected my mind, my heart, my soul. His God given talent. I could touch it. Feel it. Taste it. It enveloped me. Devoured me…’

The age gap, considering the very tender age of Journey as well as her speech and behaviour in relation to her age was a tad uncomfortable in the first book, however, as the story progressed, and we moved to present time, Journey the young woman, was more than a match in maturity with Cash. Really, she was an old soul.

‘She hated him. She loved him. She couldn’t save him.’

This duet is a story of friendship, family, love and redemption, with Robinson covering every aspect in all its gut-wrenching agony. This author writes to the beat of her own drum, and whilst her love stories aren’t hearts and flowers, and her characters aren’t perfect, she brilliantly and unapologetically brings us flawed characters who travel a difficult road to find love. Their journeys make us sit up and take notice, making us wince as we share their pain and heartache.

‘I was blinded by her. Consumed by her. Wrecked by her.’

The Life of Debauchery Duet ties in with the Pierced Hearts Duet, though you can read as a standalone duet, as the author cleverly recaps enough of the story for the reader to follow. This is a duet you won’t be able to put down. Wiping tears from our eyes, we closed this duet once again marvelling at another angst filled, emotionally wrought and heart stopping love story.

‘Every intense melody.
Every tragic lyric.
Every powerful emotion you felt deep in your soul.
We were music.
Music was us.’

Till the Last Lyric is the epic conclusion to the emotional saga of Cash and Journey . This is a tale that follows these characters though out their young lives. They are family friends with a age difference. Cash has a love for music, with a beautiful soul that is lead astray when he dives head first in to the Rockstar lifestyle . Journey is our young, beautiful woman that never gives up hope on her true first crush/ love ! You the reader will be pulled into the depths of music stardom, addiction, turbulent family dynamics, and the belief that true love can conquer all. Monica has once again ripped out my heart and then took those pieces to put them back in a new way to love these characters for all they are and will become ! I loved them and was so excited to revisited with all of my favorite characters in their world!

I was nervous beyond belief for TTLL because if there’s one thing I know it’s that M Robinson can pull twists that will leave you completely blindsided!

She did not disappoint and she delivered a book that blew me away! Cash definitely had many demons to fight! He had the battle of a lifetime and it was an ugly one! But the only way to go from rock bottom is up! He just needed to find the strength to fight and he found that through family and love!

Journey! I was taken aback when I saw who Cash’s love was but reading this story it makes sense! Sometimes what we view as forbidden is a skewed way of looking at things! Journey was the light to Cash’s dark! She was his sunshine! How could a love so pure be so wrong! She was the only one in his corner and she poured all her love into him!

This book was so much more than Cash and Journeys story! It was a book about healing! Journey and Cash both had so much to heal from! It went deep into their souls and it was a hurt that affected everyone around them! Seeing this group together again and seeing the pain and the healing was so cathartic but beautiful! I love how raw and emotional Robinson’s stories are and though they hurt at times I will definitely keep coming back for more!

I cried , then I cried some more , my heart stung with sympathy.........and then my heart broke.
By the end , Monica had injected my heart and soul with the only thing that matters ......love .

Before I begin let me just start by saying that this is the second book in the Life of Debauchery duet, if you haven't read From the First Verse walk away now and come back when you get your life together.

Ok now that that was said lets get down to it...

M Robinson the evil genius that she is out to kill her readers with this one. There was moments that I didn't know if my "I don't cry while reading" self was going to make it. I thought that there wasn't that much that Robinson could throw at me to make me break. I should have known better. I really should have known fucking better.

My emotions were going thru complete torture with this read. I was all over the place going from "oh they are happy I love this" to " Oh Fuck No that asshole" then all the way to " What the fuck!! Oh no Robinson better not fucking to this to me". I actually had to ask myself why I always come back for more heartache when it comes to Cash "Mother-Fuckin" McGraw. Then I would remember that I am just a sucker for the pain that Robinson loves to put me thru.

Journey and Cash's book had everything and more than what I could of ever expected Robinson to give me...
1. a Lovable Asshole that you just can't help but want
2. a strong female that you want to stand by
3. angst to the 10th degree
4. moments that you couldn't see coming
5. a love story that will you can't help but get emotionally invested in
6. did I say off the charts angst
7. throw your kindle moments
8. plotting the characters death moments
9. wanting to put the author in time out moments
and
10. a story that you just can't let go of after reading THE END

When I finished the first book in this duet I was already saying that Robinson had stepped up her game. Now that I have finished the second book in this duet I am yet again saying that Robinson has stepped up her game and now has set the bar for angst in her future books. The next thing I know she is going to be the first author to make me cry. (And if this happens I will be hunting her down.)

I was one of those people that didn't think that Cash was ever going to redeem himself for me after reading the Love Hurts Duet. Then came his duet and my view changed. I was showed a boy that was looking to live his dream and be excepted. Then he turned into a man that was only existing, even after he got the life that he thought he wanted. Finally in the conclusion to this love song you are able to get Cash going thru the dark to get to the light that is Journey.

This was a love story that hurt to read, and yet it was also one that had me so engrossed that I was at the end before I knew it. My heart was racing and hurting the entire time till I got those last words. I can say that these characters are going to be ones that will be staying with me well after the closing of the book. I don't know what really goes thru that head of Robinson's but I just hope that it never stops.

My life as a romance reader can be divided into two clean parts. Before and after M. Robinson. Before finding her stories, I had no idea words and fictional characters can cause so much pain. Till the Last Lyric was another heartbreaking angst fest. Where I cried, I cursed and I suffered. And yet I loved every aching, intense, passionate and musical moment.

Cash McGraw is a rockstar. Living the proverbial life of sex, drugs, rock and roll. But he is a broken man. Anger. Hatred. Guilt. Heartbreak. Regrets. His heart is on a path of self destruction. Alcohol is going to be his weapon. But Journey Pierce refuses to let him drown in his own agony. She is the angel to this fallen soul. But is his soul beyond salvation? Will Journey destroy herself in love?

This story deals with a lot of burning issues head s on. The journey of Cash and his Junie was not an easy one. I broke for them so many times. M. Robinson poured pure agony in each page as I was branded by the raw and honest feelings. This story also deals with lots of inspiring and motivating issues. This story shows how family and friends can bring back a dead man in truest sense. This story shows unconditional love and strong support can heal the most severe and debilitating wounds. And my heart weeps and cries and bleeds for Cash and Journey. Their story is one of those epic love stories those give me goosebumps and shivers. Their chemistry is otherworldly. They are damaged souls. Their love is brutal, all consuming and edgy. They hurt each other. Specially when Cash denied to look into the mirror and accept his mistakes and faults. They have a complicated family dynamics. At times I felt they will never get out of this pit of despair, self loathing and drama. But they did. And spectacularly. With battle wounds to be worn proudly .Their passion is pure fire and at the same time healing balm to their tortured hearts. They have been to the darkest hell and so they deserve most epic HEA. I have exhausted my eyes and my heart is beautifully bruised.

I feel Till the Last Lyric by M. Robinson is a really special love story because it talks about loving self too. This story is indeed about finding way back to true love. But this story is also about finding forgiveness for self , accepting responsibilities for mistakes and becoming a better person for the person one loves.

Cash and Journey's story caught me by surprise...in such a good way. I knew it would be rocky, and I knew Cash would be broken; but M Robinson did not pull any punches with this duet!!! And I honestly couldn't imagine it any other way.

This book started off with the final scene in Book 1, but from Cash's POV. It was eye-opening, so raw and real that I found myself teary-eyed from the start. My heart broke for Cash so many times in this book. He lays it all out there - he is broken, and won't let go of his demons. Every time he thinks he can run away from them, they are right there to pull him back down the dark alley. I was in awe with how well this author detailed every thought and feeling from his POV. Her words were both poetic and heart-breaking; beautiful and painful. I high-lighted SO much in this book because it was all just so powerful.

Journey did what she set out to do in their story - she tried to mend broken bridges, she went after her true love, and she did a lot of growing up. Her development as a young woman was so relatable. She wanted to believe the best in everyone - she thought forgiveness would come easily, and that her love and strength would be enough to keep Cash's demons at bay and their relationship solid. I cheered so hard for her throughout this story and had both "proud mom" and "uh-oh" moments for her.

In the end...this story happened just as it should have. It was rocky, rough, and gut-wrenching; yet beautiful and rewarding with a HEA. It might just be my favorite from this author! I am still not ready to leave this world and hope there is more to come from these characters! Well done once again M Robinson!

FIVE EMOTIONAL STARS for Journey and Cash 💛🖤💛🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

BEAUTIFUL AND EMOTIONAL.

M. Robinson did it again!

She wrote one more emotional duet that stole my heart and then shattered it in a thousand pieces.

But, in the end, it put all the pieces together.

"'Til the Last Lyric" is an emotional rock star romance with age-gap and friends to lovers tropes.

Journey is a female character that I loved from the beginning of this duet.

She is an old soul who sees people different and she would do anything to make people she loves happy.

What I loved the most is her stubbornness, because she didn't give up on Cash, especially when was the hardest.

Cash is a male character who did a lot of mistakes, and the guilt he was feeling thrown him on the wrong path.

In this book, he proved that he really wanted to change and become the person who wouldn't hurt the loved once anymore.

Journey and Cash's relationship is something special because they know each other since Journey's birth and the connection they have is rare.

Journey knew, even when she was a little girl, that she will marry Cash one day.

Because they are soulmates.

And they have more in common than music.

This duet isn't only about their love.

It's a story about making mistakes, going on the dark side, wanting to change, and after all asking for help from the people who care about you the most.

If you're looking for a heartbreaking duet and you also love M. Robinson's writing style, then this is your next duet to read!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. Can't wait to read more books by M. Robinson!

This book made me really sad for cash because he was going through so much pain but he never wanted anyone to help him but I love that journey was always there for him even when he didn’t want her there and I really loved her for it and hated her for it because sometimes he really hurt her and I hated that so much but I really love this series and I can’t wait tell the next book.

If you’re a die-hard Queen of Angst fan, you know just how wickedly amazing M. Robinson’s books can get. This book? It’s her best work. It’s poetic. It’s imaginative, innovative. Journey and Cash are the raw, bitter, truth of love. Til the Last Lyric is the love child of Crave Me & Undo Me. Cash Mcgraw’s one goal is to absolutely destroy the hearts of readers and trust me when I say, he succeeds. Cash is a southern devil with demons living in his mind and soul, and Journey Pierce is the angel in his darkness. But like all of Robinson’s swoony male leads they find ways of picking up the pieces.

If you’re new to the world of M. Robinson. Prepare yourself, and welcome to the world of all the angst. Robinson is going to take you into the pitch-black darkness, but don’t worry the ending is worth going through all the painful parts.

Shocking twists, unlikely saviors, loveable supporting characters and gut-wrenching heartbreak. Grab a glass of wine (You’ll need alcohol to deal with Cash Motherfuckin’ Mcgraw) and your tissues because Cash is coming for your hearts and panties. You’re really about to see just how bad the debauchery can get.

Remember how I said that Monica has been dubbed the queen of angst for a reason? She took it to a whole new level with this book. I had actual pains in my chest feeling every single characters anguish, and had tears steaming down my face from nearly the beginning. This is the book (and duet) our author was clearly meant to write, and it shows.

This book picks up right where we left off; with Cash asking Journey to marry him and show him what love is. These two have such an intense, painful, exhilarating love. The highs are filled with laughter and so much happiness, while the lows are filled with agonizing pain.

Journey is often described as an old soul, and with all that she has experienced in her short eighteen years, that's very accurate. Cash has always been her person, and seeing her realize that the man she loves and his rockstar persona are two very different people broke my heart. She knows that he's so much more than the mistakes and hurt that he's caused, but how long can you try to fix a broken soul without yourself being torn apart with them?

Cash truly evolved so much-- From the angry son who just wanted his father's love and acceptance, to the broken man who thought an angels love could replace his demons, to finally facing his shame head on was brilliant to witness. He's made so many painful mistakes, but the one he hurt the most was himself, and seeing him battle that even when he tried to convince himself that he was doing the right thing was so heartbreaking. And when he hit rock bottom? I shattered right along with him.

Being raised by an addict, Monica truly conveys what it's like to both love and hate the person the addiction takes hold of. It's not only detrimental to the person using, but to everyone around them. Watching Journey struggle to fix him and come to the realization that Cash had to want to change, was like watching my own personal experience unfold. Her hoping that the love they had would be bigger than anything else is so real, and so heartbreaking to read because it's so true that you can't love someone who's vices are bigger than themselves.

There's one point in the book (and trust me, you will KNOW when you get to it) that had me screaming and begging that what I was reading wasn't real. My heart went through so much while reading this! But seeing Cash finally rise above what was holding him down was absolutely everything. He finally became what Journey and the rest of his loved ones knew he could be, and it was just magnificent.

I truly encourage you all to read this duet. I loved every minute of it, and will definitely be buying them both as soon as possible.

*Remember that you have to read From The First Verse before reading this book.

**SPOILER FREE DUET REVIEW**

I cried.

I CRIED.

I C-R-I-E-D.

I full blown cried.

Now that it’s clear... I’m not gonna lie, Cash has been on my s**t list for a while and the first book in his duet didn’t change it. Okay, it did. The point is, if you were like me and thought Cash hasn’t redeemed himself completely, I have good news – that I won’t tell you because I’m still dead inside.

See? You know you finished a great book when your review doesn’t make sense, your eyes are still wet, and you are not able to pick up another story just yet.

Oh, Cash. He was every bit of the dirty talking Rockstar/Prince Charming in one package, even more tortured than ever. You couldn’t help but love him and Journey and be happy/sad for them.

The beginning of the book was a poetic masterpiece too beautiful to be true. There were some moments that crushed me but overall, I felt at peace. And giving the history I share with this author, I couldn’t believe when my kindle was still secure in my hands. That should be a warning sign. Because halfway through the story Ms Robinson delivered the first blow. It didn’t end there, the twists continued to come at rapid speed, and every bullet found my heart until there wasn’t anything left of me but the salty aftertaste of my tears. Y’all she did it. M Robinson took all my hope and killed me with her words. Hungover doesn’t even cover how I feel right now. Congrats M, you officially destroyed me and drained me of all emotions.

This duet doesn’t focus too much on the romance. It’s the characters as individuals and their demons that shine, the forgiveness and the love they learn to have for themselves and others, not only the love for their soul mates, that heals.

Till The Last Lyric was an angsty and emotional tale that reached into the deepest crevices of my soul and took me on a mind-blowing journey with life-altering experiences.

4.75 - 5*

SIDE NOTE: I highly encourage you to read the Good Ol’ Boys books if you haven’t already. The pain will be much worse when you read them first. Cash's Duet is a standalone but I feel like I wouldn't ugly cry like I did if I haven't met some of the characters before.

THE QUEEN OF ANGST STRIKES AGAIN!

I have realized that no matter what I write in this review, that it will not do this duet / 2nd half of this duet justice. I could never come even close to describing the greatness that this book has to offer. Suffice to say, I'll try my damnest.

I thought for sure that I connected with Robinson's previous characters because her writing just makes you feel like you are living and breathing with them, but I was wrong. I am not afraid to admit that. I have NEVER EVER, IN THE HISTORY EVER EVERDOM, connected with a two characters like I have with Journey and Cash. I say that, coming from both spectrums.

The Life Of Debauchery was a duet that evoked more emotions from me, than any other book / series this author has written. The blank space I thought I was in before, is no more. I am emotionally spent after diving into the world of Journey and Cash, especially after reading the second half. I feel like I have lived a thousand lives because Till The Last Lyric was written with so much emotion and depth, that I found myself putting myself in their shoes; I was living his life, and I was living hers.

There was more downs than ups, more hardships than prosperity, but Till The Last Lyric was as real as any book could get. The authenticity behind this book proves how truly talented this author is, from the plot line to what true love entails.

I couldn't be any more open without ruining things for others, so I will stop while I am ahead. While I am here I am just gonna go ahead and say it, ' LIFE OF DEBAUCHERY ' IS THE BEST DUET OF 2020!

What a Journey this story takes!!! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read

From the first verse to the last lyric you not want to miss this conclusion. Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read

I could not wait for this book to come out and it did not disappoint. I knew that this book would have all the emotions that M. Robinson puts into all her books and this one was what you would expect with all the emotions. The ending of the first book what not what you expected it to be and it just got better from there. The emotions throughout this book we just unbelievable. I had so many tears of all kinds, happy, sad and OMG! At parts I was like what is she doing to the characters is she really going to not let them have their happily ever after. How much heartache can one couple take? There is a scene that you will have to read I thought the worse and was like NO!!!! What I can say is Journey is truly a strong women who loves fiercely and has my heart. Cash is everything you expect and then some. You must read this book to see what happens!!!

M. Robinson I do not know how you will ever top this couple!!!! This book left me in a book hangover of the best kind!!!!

Book two of the Life of Debauchery duet and we continue with the epic love of Cash and Journey. M Robinson never fails to take her readers on an emotional rollercoaster but this duet has surpassed her previous books. The truths that are Cash's life when laid bare are as devastating as they are heartbreaking. You may be like me and had ideas of how the story would go but I wasn't even close. We go back to times in both their lives and discover they have more on common than I could ever have expected. I truly believe they were fated to be together. The story is a wild ride with the rocker and his Junie. There aren't many authors who can make you smile on one page and then the next leave you a crying mess but M does it with such ease I could hear her cheering with glee.

Buckle up guys I hope your ready for Cash and Journey and the big surprise she springs at the end.

5 soul wrenching stars!! Damn this author!! She is one of the few that can have me crying like a baby. I full out cried ugly tears from 84% to the end of the book. I would put it down to wipe my tears and get ahold of myself thinking that was the worst of it to be hit all over again. Don’t get me wrong, the entire book was an emotional roller coaster but I have never continually cried that long in a book... good and bad tears.

So this is the conclusion to Journey and Cash’s story. It is book two of the “Life Of Debauchery” duet. Of course, you see the other characters from the family and other Oak Island families too. Let me just say the very last page also has a nice surprise!!

The first book was crazy and emotional. I thought “how the hell can she top this?!”. Well, ladies and gents, she outdid herself. This author is able to make you smile, laugh, throw your kindle, cry uncontrollably, fan yourself, swoon and ache all in one book. Hell even one good chapter.

Cash is a story in himself. So many hurdles and so much pain. You get so angry at his choices and then it happens. You break for the man. And who is always standing behind the man to catch him fall?!!! Journey. She is the definition of strength. We all know Journey has a story of her own but she embraced it. She was scared. She was loved. And she took all she was and gave it to Cash!!

This book has triggers. It has addiction. It has pain and sorrow. I guess I haven’t seen this side of addiction and it was welcomed. I appreciate it.

Every book I read I fall more in love with these characters. This author. This town. If you have yet to read every single book this author has wrote please do so now!!

When you open this book please be ready to be owned. For your heart to ache. For tears to shed. Be ready to want to call your loved ones. This is a MUST read! I am putting this book in the top 5 books of a life time!!!
