Nobody But You: A Single Dad Romance Kindle Edition
Still, not even the hottest blaze could have prepared him for life's ultimate challenge--single fatherhood. As the sole provider for his little girl, there's simply no room in his carefully constructed life for distractions.
When a stray dog lands him in the office of the new local vet, Mason comes face to face with a major complication. Because the new vet in town is none other than his childhood friend, Madeline Woods, the same girl who up and left him without a trace.
Gorgeous, smart, and thoughtful--the more time Mason spends with Maddy, the more he finds himself questioning whether she's the thing he and his daughter have been missing all along.
But being with Maddy is like playing with fire, and while a little heat might be nice, can he trust her not to burn them both?

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2020Format: Kindle EditionNobody But You by Megan Green is a second chance romance where high school friends get a second chance at love.
This was a quick easy read with likeable characters, a gorgeous five year old and a poorly puppy. Definitely all the ingredients to make a successful romance novel.
For me, the most interesting characters though were not our hero or heroine, but their trusty sidekicks Reese and Cami.
However, Maddy and Mason get their HEA as you would expect, despite a few bumps in the road along the way.
As this is my first read from Megan Green, I'd be keen to see her back catalogue in order to explore a 'new to me' author a bit more.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2020Format: Kindle EditionWhen Mason's life turned upside down, he hit pause on all of his dreams for the little bundle of joy he was suddenly the single father of. And he excelled at being a father - Hannah is one of the most adorable children I've read about!
Enter his high school best friend, Maddy. She skipped town over a decade earlier and wasn't exactly pleased to bump into Mason (and Hannah) within days of returning as the local vet. Especially when Mason was the reason why she left their little town in the first place.
With the attraction still there between them (if anything, now amplified) it doesn't take long for them to explore their feelings and one another ;)
With some amazing side characters and the awesome banter and friendship-turned-relationship between Mason and Maddy, this was an enjoyable read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2020Format: Kindle EditionThis is former firefighter and single dad Mason and Maddy’s story. Maddy is the new vet in town and she and Mason have a history. No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster as well as a heart-warming 2nd chance romance story. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I highly recommend for all readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseFirst time reading this Author and I really enjoyed this story. This is a second chance love story and our couple had to overcome things from their past in order to finally be together. I connected with how high school could make an impact on how you see some things in your adult life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maddy and Mason
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThis was another book that’s been on my backlist for awhile. It was cute, but pretty predictable. I don’t read many fade to black romances that aren’t thrillers or romantic suspense and probably wouldn’t have read this if I had known, but it was a good palette cleanser, nonetheless.
Muddy moves back to the town she grew up in and runs into the boy she ran away from. He is now a single father to a spunky five year old who demands her father help the dog she found. Since Maddy is the new town vet, they crash into each other again.
It doesn’t take long for Maddy and Mason to reestablish their friendship, and once old misunderstandings are hashed out it becomes so much more. But of course, the past has a way of rearing it’s ugly head. Both Maddy and Mason make mistakes and have trouble getting over their past experiences and that causes some tension. But Mason does a great job of groveling and Maddy takes equal blame for the part she played.

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't hate it, but it had issues.
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseOn the surface this is a run of the mill second chance romance. It is extremely repetitive. The first 30% is basically the same chapter over and over. They spend a tiny bit of time together and then take turns telling us nothing can happen between them. The latter part of the book is the same misunderstandings and running away without talking about the problem repeatedly. Not a great story but passable. The 2 main characters, Mason and Maddy are 2 of the most insecure people I've ever read about. The author gives us plenty of explanation for that but it was a bit much. Maddy was a likeable character even though she ran time and time again after telling us she wasn't going to do that anymore. Mason is a good dad, but honestly a really bad guy. He let his friends torment Maddy in high-school because he wanted to fit in. Even though he says he would never treat her that way his immediate reaction to seeing her after a decade is to call her Fatty Maddy. Call me crazy, but if you're not that guy your instict wouldn't be to call her that. Kind of like if you're not racist you won't accidentally use a racial slur. He doesn't tell her he's still married because he is afraid of how she'll react. Then when she breaks up with him, he goes on a week long bender in which he doesn't even think about his daughter whom he left with his parents. What a great guy, right? Right??? Yikes. He's selfish and pathetic. Their best friends exist only to provide them with relationship advice and to be the voice of reason. The ending is incredibly cheesy and lame. Not a terrible book, average at best.
