BAA Training has announced that it signed a major contract for the purchase of nine RealitySeven full flight simulators (FFS) from L3Harris Technologies.

One of the biggest aviation training providers in Europe, and a rapidly growing player on the Asian market, has become the first ever independent aviation training centre to make such a significantly sized order for new aviation training equipment.

The first four training devices will be installed at BAA Training headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania, and at the Academy’s training centre in Barcelona, Spain. The assembly, in turn, will take up to 12 months.

The remaining five full flight simulators will be installed by the first quarter of 2022 at BAA Training facilities in Spain, Vietnam and Italy, where the company is also set to open a training centre.

According to the statement, these will be full flight simulators representing both Airbus and Boeing narrow-body aircraft types to secure the market with pilots operating the aircraft currently on the highest demand, including Boeing 737 NG, Airbus A320neo and other.

This is good strategic choice, as the share of narrow-body aircraft in the global fleet will increase from 58% to 66% just by 2029. Meanwhile, Boeing and Airbus will present 98% of all narrow-bodies delivered.

Worth highlighting that BAA Training is growing simultaneously with the industry itself. The company is actively providing clients with aviation training services not only in Europe.

In 2019 the company opened a brand new training centre in Vietnam, which recently has been supplemented with the second full flight simulator. Even being a relatively new on the Asian market, BAA Training Vietnam is already working with such well-established local airlines as VietJet or Bamboo Airways.

Also in 2019, BAA Training started the construction of the six full flight simulator aviation training centre in China, under the Joint Venture agreement between Avia Solutions Group and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA).
