This is my first read by K.A. Linde and it most certainly won't be the last! I've heard great things about her work, and I was excited to start off this series, hence I haven't read a fantasy read in a while! It's an epic fantasy read, with a lot of twists and turns! A fantastic storyline and I loved how it flowed! If you enjoy reads with action and a bit of romance; faes, dragons and magic, then you definitely need to read this book! House of Dragons is book #1 in The Royal House series; a perfect series for Sarah J Maas and Holly Black fans. The heroine, Kerrigan is a great character! She's adventurous, fearless, strong willed and caring of friends/loved ones. But she's also reckless, and sometimes her actions have consequences. And then we have Prince Fordham Ollivier, heir to the House of Shadows. He's mysterious, moody, arrogant and downright dangerous. But that's just the surface, there's more to him than meets the eye. Because of his reputation everyone fears him, hence they steer clear from his path. Kerrigan is the only person who's able to stand up to Fordham; she isn't afraid of him. Yes, he has a foul mouth and insults her constantly, but she's witty and with her quick thinking she retorts rapidly. Yet, she can't seem to help herself, she's fascinated and curious about the dark prince. They are baffled, because Kerrigan and Fordham can't seem to understand the connection they have. When a terrible incident occurs Kerrigan needs to investigate, but she's racing against time. When Fordham offers assistance she's surprised, to say the least. And an unlikeliest alliance is formed between a Shadow prince and a half-fae. I really enjoyed seeing Kerrigan and Fordham's relationship developing throughout the book! **This is a voluntary review

4.5 stars... House of Dragons is the first book in K.A Linde's new fantasy series Royal Houses!! We have already come across House of Dragons, Alandria and Kerrigan Argon in the Ascension series. Kerrigan Argon, Dragon Blessed, Half-Fae is under the care of the house of dragons, after being abandoned at their door step at the age of 12. In a world where a Half-Fae is considered to be unworthy of living by some of the Fae population, Kerrigan is Brave, smart and Relentless... Despite the discrimination, Kerrigan is nothing but determined to earn her place in the SOCIETY, by getting selected to one of the tribes of Alandria.. However, when she is not selected by any tribe, Kerrigan strikes a bargain with the society. She has to assist in the dragon tournament along with proving herself to earn a place in the society.. Fordham Ollivier, the cursed Prince from House of Shadows enters the dragon competition. Hailing from the house of shadows, Fordham looks down upon Kerrigan as she is a Half-Fae. However when Fordham gets to know more about Kerrigan, his view of a Half-Fae changes and eventually they become strong allies.. What starts as Kerrigan's determination to earn her place in society, turns into something more dangerous with the discovery of her special powers and magic.. House of dragons is a fast-paced, full of action fantasy read with perfect amount of mystery and magic!! I loved Kerrigan and Fordham.. I love K.A Linde's writing. And her fantasy books are absolutely amazing. With that surprise ending, I cant wait to read the next book in this series..

So fantasy is not usually my thing. Unless K.A. Linde writes it. I loved her Ascension series so I was stoked to learn of this new series! And I was not disappointed. This book has it all. Mystery, magic, adventure, intrigue, a cast of amazing characters, and dragons! I was swept away into this world and enjoyed every second of it. Kerrigan is simply awesome. She’s unapologetically herself. She’s strong and fierce and determined. I just loved her. And broody Fordham, something about him just draws you in. I loved the relationship between him and Kerrigan. This story is complex, but not difficult to follow. K.A. Linde can paint a beautiful picture with her words and I felt like I was watching this book play out in front of my eyes. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
