The spread of the coronavirus has put Ryanair in huge crisis as well. The carrier has already began slashing the capacity across all the airlines of its Group by 80%.

From 24 March it expects to ground the “most if not all Ryanair Group flights, except for a very small number of flights to maintain essential connectivity, mostly between the UK and Ireland”.

The decision might come as the result of many governmental restrictions imposed within the European countries, including travel bans.

“Ryanair will continue stay in close contact with the Foreign Ministries of all EU Governments on the repatriation of EU citizens, and where possible we may operate rescue flights to support this repatriation”, the airline said in the statement released on 18 March, 2020.

Ryanair Group includes Ryanair, Lauda, Buzz and Malta Air.
