The Rival Roomies

I’ve loved him from afar.

Though most times he’s only a foot away.

I’m smart enough to know he’ll never be anyone’s forever.

He checks all the bad boy boxes. Tattoos. Check. Motorcycle. Check. Chip on his shoulder. Check check.

If he wasn’t my neighbor and friend I may have thrown myself at him. Okay, yeah. I wouldn’t. Because guys like Dylan don’t want a woman who writes kid’s math textbooks under him in bed. Instead, I pathetically savor morsels of moments where I have his sole attention.

That was until his archenemy moved in with me. Now suddenly, Dylan’s moving in too and warning off the first guy in a long time who’s showing me interest. Could he finally see me as more than a friend, or am I just a prize to win and show off to his enemy?

This is good read. I do love the chemistry between Rian and Dyland. Especially when Jax comes to the picture. Their dynamic is just hot and alive.

Miss Rayne has this ability putting a twist into her characters even though the romance is standard. Roomates to lover is not something new. Miss Rayne invests a little bit of character development so her characters seem real to her readers.

Overall this is a very good book.

This is one of those reads that has both the tropes I like & hate at the same time which makes it hard to rate….

Rian (heroine) & Dylan (hero) are roommates. I don’t remember if it was mentioned how long they been roommates but I think it was a year but they have known each other for some time since they, along with several of their friends who each get a story of their own, are a close knit group.

Rian is a super smart 28 yr old mathematician working on a complicated project in which the first one to decipher, wins $25 grand. She is also a very good baker who makes awesome deserts that

Dylan & the others constantly crave. She also through the story is undergoing issues with her parents (especially her mom) which was disappointing that the author never resolved the conflict even at the end.

Rian is sweet, nice and a bit shy through the story but she comes into herself as story progresses. She has also had a crush/strong feeling for Dylan for years but tried to hide it from him as she felt that he didn’t return her feelings.

Dylan on the other hand is a 30 yr old Tattoo Artist with his own shop. He had gone through the foster system after being abandoned by his folks and has a lot of residual past hurts to undergo through this story of people constantly leaving his life.

There is also another roommate, Jax, whom Dylan & Knox (his other friend) grew up together in the foster system. For more than 70% of the story, he & Jax butt heads because of betrayal & jealousy in the past. (When Dylan & Jax were teens, Dylan was in love with a girl called Naomi and she & Jax betrayed him when he found them f****g each other. This left a rift & anger issues for both – especially as Dylan & Jax’s foster mom left Dylan some money after her death and not to Jax).

When the story begins, Jax is already roommates with Dylan & Rian and he constantly flirts with Rian which angers Dylan & makes him jealous. Jax & Rian go on a (platonic) date and this makes Dylan realize that he could lose her, so it spurns him to go for it with Rian. Now, I should mention that almost 70-75% of the story, nothing romantic happened between Rian & Dylan. Dylan has always been attracted to Rian but he never did anything because he thought he wasn’t good for her and she deserved better. In fact, it was more that he was protecting himself from hurt of people leaving then him not feeling good enough.

It takes about the last 30% or so for him & Jax to clear up their differences & angst before he pulls his head out of his ass and go for his girl and that is when the story began for me! Before this, it was a bit of a snoozefest as nothing was happening expect the whining & jealousy! Once they got together though, they were very sweet (& Hot!) together. I also loved that we got some great comedy from their friends and the whole closeness of all of them was what made the story for me.

Now for my safety friends, it is safe. There is no cheating. Rian does go on a date with Jax but nothing happens there. Jax was just trying to make Dylan jealous so that he can make his move on Rian and Dylan does pull a stupid trick in the end with OW he was tattooing to make Rian think he was flirting with her (but he wasn’t).

The author also inserted that Dylan was a manhore before he & Rian hooked up and that heroine had seen him date others but no intimate scenes or any further details were given of his past. Rian was not a virgin but no history of her past. Also, there was a mention right before MCs hooked up in which heroine asked Hero for details on the OW (Noel) whom caused the rift between him & Jax and Hero was supposed to tell her about it but author seemed to forget about it and never brought it up again – especially as heroine said (right before they first had sex) that she wanted to know about Noel before they proceed further – only that was skipped.

As for HEA. It was left as HFN. There is an epilogue in which one has to request that shows them a few months later in which he proses to her & what is happening with their careers.

So in the end, do I recommend? Yes, I do. Especially as I loved the way the friendship were developed and how it makes me want to read about all the other’s stories coming up. Jax & Sean’s in particular as they were awesome characters. In fact, Sean’s is next in “Our Star-Crossed Kiss” which pairs him with Evan his arch enemy! And then we have Knox & Lelani’s story in “The Do-Over” but as much as I liked Knox, not sure if I will like his story as in this one they split again (they had an on/off again relationship) and it was mentioned that he was going through many women to hide his hurt. Then there is Jax & Frankie’s story in “A Co-Workers Crush” which I think I will love the most as those two were fun characters that have this love/hate relationship and an adorable little girl that is going to be a hoot!

One thing though that I notice is this author has made all her Heroes Manhores and as I repeatedly say, I don’t understand what the attraction is because it is the one thing that constantly ruins the story for me!

I have to admit I went into this book without a lot of love for Dylan. I kind of wanted Rian to realise she deserved more and for Jax to be awesome and sweep her off her feet. But luckily for me Piper Rayne knew what these two needed better than I did and that didn’t happen.

Even luckier for me was the fact that we got Dylan’s story and I fell madly in love with him. The arrival of Jax and their history made Dylan open his eyes and pull his head out of certain places. And I am so glad that he did because he was the perfect boyfriend for Rian. I understood his insecurities and I loved that he figured out he was the perfect person for Rian and he fought for it.

And my perception of Rian was way off as well. I had her pinned as this meek, mild mannered, doormat who was just going to accept whatever scraps of attention Dylan was prepared to cast her way, while watching him screw every warm body that passed his door. So I was super excited to see her grow a back bone and realise that she deserved someone who wanted her. And Jax was the perfect catalyst for her as well.

I have developed a massive crush on Jax from this book as well. And being a foster mum and knowing how badly the system knocks these kids about my heart broke for the tiny bit of information we got about his past. I seriously think him and Frankie are going to be a great match up. But I am already preparing myself for the angst, cause I think it’s going to take him a bit to realise his worth. Not that I am disappointed to get Evan and Seth’s book next, I already think Evan is awesome.

When an author drops breadcrumbs to her readers about a couple in previous books of the series, then when their book lands on your kindle you dive right in without even checking the temperature of the water! Rian and Dylan have been in the background for just a couple books, but they made a giddy impression on my from the start. They’re that couple you always wonder about and get excited about just thinking will they/won’t they? thoughts about!

On paper, these two seem like polar opposites but they really worked together fantastically. I loved that about Piper Raine. These ladies always give me characters I can see and feel their relatability to real life. Their personalities and their stories and their interactions and just everything is always so real and relatable and so easy to read! I always get lost in their stories for hours before I even think of taking a break! LOL

There’s something about the concept of I feel nothing until wait, what’s that you say? someone else is in the picture? … it just makes me smile LOL I mean whyyyyyyyyyy do people make it so hard?!?! In real life and fiction!! *sigh* I really liked this story you guys. I like everything about everyone, pretty much. Yes, I had my share of STOP.IT eye-twitches but every story needs dumb conflict, amirite?! LOLOLOL This is a very realistic story told in a very relatable way so full stars from me!

Rian is a math genious, she bakes delicious goodies and has a long time crush on her current roommate and friend, Dylan. He's a tattoo artist and a tattoo shop owner.

She hides her feelings from him because that's how she is. And he plays pretends to know nothing about it. He has his reasons and as a reader I understood him.
That is until one day an opportunity presented.

What I loved the most about this story was Rian as a character. She knew what she wanted and she fought for it! I loved her from the start. And it's also one heck of an emotional story! I got to meet the rest of their friend group in The Rooftop Crew series.

(The Rival Roomies was my first book from this series, and it was so very well webed together that I for once did not think I needed to go back and to read the first two.)

This story is filled with angst and it is a fantastic read! I've been wanting this story since the first book in this series and Piper Rayne did not disappoint.

Rian's new roommate is a guy - a hot guy. On top of that, it's a hot guy that is from Dylan’s past.

Dylan is having none of it and decides he's moving in too in order to protect Rian from Knox, the new, hot, bad-boy roommate.

Dylan isn't good with words and keeps a lot of his feelings locked inside.

Rian is a people pleaser and has to learn to that she can't live her life happily if she can't do what pleases herself.

What I love is that Dylan gets the kick in the ass he needs when Knox makes the moves on Rian. Knox stirs pots like it's nobody's business. He also has a tender side that has me anticipating his story!

I love this writing duo! Their books never disappoint. The stories are real and passionate, and I related to Rian so much. Dylan is the classic broken hero, and their happy ending was perfect!

I really enjoyed Dylan and Rian's friends-to-lovers story. These two have been skirting around their feeling for a while, Rian to shy to be assertive and Dylan to filled with self doubt to believe he was good enough for her. But throw in a little competition and let it be Dylan's archenemy and maybe, just maybe he'll take his head out of his butt and make a move.

I am absolutely loving the sweet, sexy and swoonworthy stories in the Rooftop Crew series from Piper Rayne. The Rival Roomies was the perfect combination of feel good, intense, heartfelt and adorable romance. Dylan and Rian's story was amazing from beginning to end!

I’ve been on tenderhooks waiting for Dylan and Rian’s story ever since reading My Bestie’s Ex and it was so worth the wait. I loved their initial friendship and I loved their eventual romance. Their story was much more than I expected and in particular, Dylan’s backstory gave this story extra depth. It really was a beautiful story with all the elements of a quintessential Piper Rayne novel. Witty banter, laugh out loud funny moments, well balanced with angst and drama.

The Rooftop Crew series and this wonderful group of friends is always enjoyable to revisit, and Piper Rayne delivered, as ever, with another fabulous read in The Rival Roomies. To say I'm excited not only for Seth's book, but also Knox's story is an understatement. I cannot wait to see what Piper Rayne have in store for us next!

The Rival Roomies was the third book in the Rooftop Crew series by the authors Piper Rayne.

Dylan and Rian were friends; however, Rian crushed on Dylan from day one. Dylan owned a tattoo shop and avoided commitments beyond friendship. Rian was a mathematician and had no idea her beauty. The previous book in the series left off with Rian’s roommate moving out but subletting to a friend of a friend, a gorgeous hot male friend that just so happened to be the archenemy of Dylan. So what did Dylan do, he moved in too with the guise of protecting Rian.

The authors took us through a complex yet humorous storyline. The focus of the plot was Rian, Dylan and Jax (the hot new roommate) - but not the triangle you would expect. The authors also included other secondary plot lines as well which highlighted family drama, acceptance, healing and new beginnings.

All in all, it was entertaining and fun. And yes, we need Jax’s story now, but in the meantime, Seth is up next in Our Star-Crossed Kiss.

Worth the wait, that's for sure! I've been eagerly anticipating this love story since the start of the series, and it did NOT disappoint. It's without a doubt my favorite so far, with a swoony kind of romance that just flows naturally and holds your attention from start to finish. I loved this bad boy hero who can't seem to stay away from the quintessential good girl - they have some serious chemistry, a history as friends that makes their connection feel deep, and the kind of sexual tension that's bound to snap at some point. I binged this baby in one sitting and can't wait for more from the series.

The story follows Rian and Dylan, two people who have been in the same group of friends for the last few years. The friends all live in the same apartment building and know more about each other's business than they probably should, so it's like one big family. As a former foster kid, that family unit is important to Dylan, and he won't do anything to screw it up. Rian's been crushing on Dylan for years, but he either doesn't know or doesn't reciprocate, and she's reached the point where she realizes it might be time to move on from the fantasy. So when a new roommate - who seems to have a lot of history with Dylan - joins the mix, it changes the dynamic completely. Suddenly, it becomes impossible to ignore the deeper feelings hiding beneath the surface.

I know that the title might have you worried that this is a love triangle, but it really isn't. It's much more about the sudden jealousy that sparks in our hero as he's finally forced to confront his feelings. Throughout the first two books in the series, we knew where Rian stood but were left in the dark about Dylan, and I loved how it was handled by the authors. He's such a lovable guy deep down and I thought he made a great hero. Plus, these two already have a level of familiarity that takes years to build, so it felt like there was a strong connection between them. It's high tension but low angst and makes for a very compelling read. If I have one complaint it would be the big fight, but... I also understand why it played out the way it did. Regardless, I loved this one from start to finish, and absolutely look forward to more of these characters. I received an ARC via Wildfire Marketing Solutions and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy friends to lovers romance.

If you've been reading this series since the beginning then Rian and Dylan's story is the one you've been waiting for. It's been building and teased through the previous two books. And I'm happy to have found that it was more than worth the wait.

Dylan was the tatted up bad boy with a rough past but soft heart. At least when it comes to Rian. And while she might have seemed like the sweet, all put together, girl next door, this book introduced new aspects to her. I felt, after reading this book, that she had more layers and depth. She has her own baggage and struggles and it makes her even more perfect for Dylan.

I just loved these two characters and the introduction of the "Rival Roomie" Jax was surprisingly welcome. He was different then I was expecting, but in a good way.

This book also introduced a couple more characters for me to hopefully get stories for along with Seth and Knox finding their HEA someday. Then again, Seth's story has also steadily been building the last three books now so we know who's next and I just can't wait to see how it all works out.

If you guys thought this was gonna be just another na romance book then you were wrong. Seeing Rian being in her twenties and still figuring her life out made me realize that I'm not the only one out there struggling with my life plans, the ending with her finding her true passion and ending up with the man who loved her for her was just so hopeful!!!! To the romance now I was anticipating this book from the moment I read the first book of the series and let me tell you it didn't disappoint me AT ALL they were so freaking cute together the way they started as friends and then Rian became one of Dylan's closest person made my heart melt. I'm so glad they both got their happy ending !!!! Once again I'm in love with their group of friends and this book made me kinda sad with the fact that my circle of friends is actually very small....ANYWAYS can't wait for the next books of the series omg enemies to lovers, second chance and single mother UMMM WANT THEM NOW

The Rival Roomies is a new adult/adult contemporary romance and is also the third book in the Rooftop Crew series by author duo Piper Rayne. Each of the books in the Rooftop Crew can be read as standalones. Rival Roomies is the first book in the series that I have read, but I enjoyed it so much that I want to go read the first two books as well. I love that this is focused on a group of close friends. Rival Roomies was a fun romance from start to finish. I enjoyed reading about Dylan and Rian.

Rival Roomies is dual in dual narrative switching between our main characters Dylan and Rian. This is my favorite narration style, particularly for contemporary romances. I love getting a peek into the guys state of mind. Here Dylan and Rian have had crushes on each other for a while, but they each have different reasons for not wanting to act on their crush. Rian is scared that Dylan doesn't like her back because she sees him as out of her league. Dylan loves his friend group and doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize his friendships, because they are the closest thing to family that he has. When a friend turned rival shows up to town and ends up rooming with Rian, Dylan leaves his apartment across the hall to live with them as well to "save" Rian from Jax's bad boy ways. And the rest is history.

I loved Rian's job. She writes math equations for grade school textbooks. I know it is not her number one passion in life, but I loved that it was not a very run of the mill job. She is also a killer baker, which she enjoyed much more than math equations. Dylan and Rian are adorable together. They are wonderful friends to one another, which is always a great foundation for a romantic relationship. Not to mention there is plenty of delicious tension between them for most of the story, which I always enjoy.

If you are a fan of forced roommate romances, or friends to more then I think Rival Roomies is going to be a fun romantic romp that you will devour. I read this book in one night and I thoroughly enjoyed Rian and Dylan's story. I have seen a few other reviews, and it looks like Dylan is a bit of a fan favorite with readers of this series, and I can totally see why. I think I want to see Jax's story next. I really liked him!

4.5*

Loved Rian and Dylan's story, my favorite of the series so far. I enjoyed getting to know them, seeing where they came from, and how it led them to become the people they are today. Dylan’s history was one that really tugged at the heart strings. I was kind of surprised by Rian’s back story, as I always just assumed (from what little I knew of her from the previous 2 books) that she was happy with where she was in life, (other than pining away for Dylan!).

Dylan and Rian both come a long way in this book and I loved being on the journey with them. Dylan had a lot to overcome and deal with, when it came to letting someone in and falling in love. His past definitely played a part in how he felt about relationships, but I was so glad to see him overcome everything that was holding him back. Rian ended up being so much stronger than I expected and I just loved that about her. When she finally went after what she wanted there was no stopping her.

It’s always so great seeing characters from previous books play such important supporting roles. Dylan and Rian have a terrific group of friends who really showed how much they cared for these two. I especially loved the friendship between Dylan, Knox, and Jax- they were there to hold him up, as well as to show him the error of his ways when needed. We should all be so lucky to have friends like that in our lives!

I have to say, I can't wait for Seth's book- he definitely stole the show a time or two!

Rian, quiet, unassuming math genius and baker, has had a crush on her friend, Dylan, forever now. And it's a crush that will go on unrequited as far as she can tell. But then she gets a new roommate, Jax, a hot tattooist, and suddenly Dylan is her roommie, too. And suddenly he seems to be looking at her as more than just a friend he's slightly protective of. But is he only looking at her differently because he doesn't want Jax to have her, or does he truly like her for her, different as they may be on the surface?

The Rival Roomies is by far the best of this series. Rian and Dylan both had difficult upbringings, especially Dylan. His gorgeous outside keeps most people from seeing just how messed up his childhood has made him, how many insecurities it's given him, so when he screwed up and hurt Rian, I understood and gave him a pass just as Rian did. And Rian? I freakin LOVE that girl! She's so sweet and loving and rock solid in her support of those she cares about, despite her rotten parents. Swoon...these two have the best story - sweet, sexy, and an emotional heartstrings-tugger.

To say that this book is my most anticipated read of the series would be an understatement. If you’ve been following the series from book one there have been plenty of Rian and Dylan goodness. I’ve been dying to know more about Dylan, their friendship, everything. The Rival Roomies was everything I could have hoped for and so much more for these two.

Rian is a math whiz, an amazing backer and has a long time crush on her current roommate and friend, Dylan. Dylan is a tattoo shop owner, somewhat of a mystery and a bad boy. These two are complete opposites yet they balance each other out. When Dylan’s relationship with Rian is threatened by their other roommate, Jax, he struggles with his feelings. Will Dylan ever admit how he really feels about Rian?

I LOVE the chemistry between Rian and Dylan. I love their friendship. I love how different they are from each other, but also in some ways they are so similar. They way they play off each other is great. The way they care for each other. There is so much to love about them. However, there were also so many times where I just wanted to jump into the story and slap some sense into Dylan.
The Rival Roomies just has me falling more and more in love with the Rooftop crew and I’m glad we got a little more of Seth, Knox and of course, Jax. I can’t wait to see more of them and of course everyone else in the future.

This is a MUST READ friends to lovers, roommate romance that will have you laughing and falling in love with Rian and Dylan from the very first page.

The Rival Roomies is the latest book in The Rooftop Crew series, and I can't get enough of this amazing group of friends!

I have been dying for Dylan & Rian's story since they were first introduced in My Bestie's Ex, and their story was even better than I hoped. I loved everything about this book, and it's definitely my favorite so far in the series.

I knew underneath the seemingly shy roommate we've come to know was a true badass, and Rian definitely proved it was true. Once she finally went after what she wanted she was unstoppable, and I loved seeing her come out of her shell and fight for what made her happy. And Dylan was so much more than I hoped, a bad boy with a heart of gold that definitely had me drooling on the other side of my kindle! From the glimpses we've gotten of these two, there was an undeniable spark, but once their story got started they truly sizzled.

And that epilogue! It's truly one of my favorite endings I've read in forever, and I'm still smiling even an hour after finishing!

The cherry on top of an amazing book - the rest of the rooftop crew! I love this friendship circle so much, and it just keeps getting better with each book and new addition to the crew. I can't wait for the next one!

5 Star Review The Rival Roomies (The Rooftop Crew #3) by Piper Rayne

This is the third book in the latest series from Piper Rayne and is Dylan Phillips and Rian Wright’s story. I have been looking forward to their story and I was not disappointed; a friends to lovers story that ticked the boxes for me.

Whenever I see the name Piper Rayne, I know I am in for an entertaining read and The Rival Roomies was no exception. From the first to the last chapter, I was hooked and had a hard time putting it down when real life got in the way.

When Rian is left as the sole occupant of a 3 bedroom apartment, she needs roommates in a hurry. First Jax moves in , then Dylan. The only problem is she has been infatuated by Dylan for a long time but knows she has no chance with the tattooed motorcycle rider.

Rian is so outgoing and friendly, you cannot help but like her, whilst Dylan is mysterious, hiding secrets . Personally if I had to chose one of the crew to fall for I think it would by Dylan, there is something about the tattoo artist that attracts me.

There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, romance and the build up of tension between the room mates added an extra level to this story.

It was also great to see the other members of The Rooftop Crew make an appearance and I am excited to see whose story is next.

Why did I wait so long to read a book by this writing duo??
I loved this.... the banter between the guys had me laughing out loud, the visuals that you get when reading are so good, I felt like I was there with them. This world that they have created is one you want to be a part of and are sad to leave.
Rian and Dylan are so opposite on the surface yet when you get to know them you find that all either of them really wants is to be loved for who they are.
Dylan gives Rian the space to think and grow, while Rian sees right through the bad boy persona and loves the real Dylan underneath.
The heat and chemistry is just perfect mixed with humour and heart... what more could you want? I can’t wait for the next one.... where do I sign my lease 😂😉

Rian and Dylan are a feast worth waiting for. Anticipation seems to have been building forever. Rayne caught hold of my heart with the shy nerd and bad boy tattoo artist what seems like forever ago. Rival Roomies is the culmination of angstful, yearning and breathtaking romance. Between the heartaches and misunderstandings lies a love story that refuses to be denied. From insecure wallflower to determined temptress Rian finds the courage to face insecurity head on. Dylan may be a heartbreaker, but his beautifully wounded heart is a worthy adversary for a determined woman. Dylan and Rian had me at hello and Rayne made sure to make it hard for my heart to say goodbye.

Piper Rayne once again delivers a super sexy and swoony story with Riva Roomies! I loved Dylan and Rian’s story, but if I’m being honest, I just plain ol’ loved Rian! The girl is fantastic! She knew what she wanted and went for it and there’s nothing more I love than a strong heroine. Dylan wasn’t at all bad homage and the chemistry and banter these two had was the cherry on top of this delicious story! Sexy, steamy, and witty af makes Rival Roomies a definite must read. Can’t wait for more from this author.

Rian Wright has been harboring an attraction to someone from her friend group for quite some time. Dylan Phillips is her complete opposite... and it is glaringly obvious that he doesn't possess any lingering attraction back to her... that is, until Rian gets a new roommate...

Jax Owens was once Dylan's best friend, but after an epic falling out, they have become something more like enemies. Dylan knows all about how Jax operates, and he will do everything he can to prevent him from charming his way into Rian's bed... including moving in to her apartment himself...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Rival Roomies was a supremely entertaining friends to lovers romance filled with sexual tension, a bad boy tattoo artist, and the sweet and brilliant woman who he is all wrong for... or so he likes to keep reminding himself...
Rian may be the nicest and quietest member of her friend group, but she sure has a thing for the tatted up, motorcycle riding, bad boy type. With her above average intelligence and her love of baking for her friends, Rian may be somewhat easy to overlook. But just when she thinks her crush on Dylan will never be anything more, the perfect distraction moves right into her apartment... and Jax sure does share some intriguing qualities that she has come to love about Dylan...
Dylan may be the embodiment of a bad boy, but as the owner of Ink Envy, he has worked hard to makes his business, and his life, a success. Growing up in foster care, his emotional damage runs deep, and although he would like nothing more than to act on his attraction to Rian, he has been fighting a losing battle against it for a very long time. But when his former buddy Jax strolls back into his life, Dylan suddenly realizes just what he may be missing out on while he's been keeping his feelings for Rian quiet...
The Rival Roomies was another delightfully fun and sexy read from always engaging Rooftop Crew series! I loved this opposites attract romance that used some jealousy inducing tactics that went above and beyond when it comes to Dylan's reluctance to pursue Rian.
I enjoyed all of the characters in this story, but I must say that Rian had a particularly interesting backstory that was a great addition to the plot. I really felt like her personality just blossomed during the course of the book, and I found myself waiting for her to stand up for herself and show the world what she was really made of, including Dylan and his tough-to-crack exterior.
The Rooftop Crew series and their incomparable friend group is always enjoyable to revisit, and The Rival Roomies delivered with another wonderful read! And I am so very excited for the next story in the series... because we are definitely going to get to see another favorite couple finally get their chance at a HEA...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
This is the book I've been waiting for in this series! Rian and Dylan have been hinted at since the first book and here it is...soooo worth the wait. Rian and Dylan are a freaking smoke show! Their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS, plus add a little trouble maker to the mix just to stir the fire. This friends to lovers story is on FIRE!
Rian is a crazy smart mathematician and baker, she wow's everyone with her baked goods, including Dylan. He's been her close friend forever, however along the line her feelings changed. Thinking that Dylan will never feel the same, she's decided to move on. Maybe with her new roommate and Dylan's old friend. Jax is around to push Dylan's buttons, their animosity really fires them both up, pushing them to finally discuss their past issues. Rian and Dylan have chemistry for days, they sizzle up my kindle pages. They are the perfect balance to each other, the confidence, their determination and the benefit of really knowing a person and all their nuances.
The whole Rooftop Crew is together again to support Rian and Dylan and cheer them on. There were definitely moments of "aweeeeee" when the crew gave their pep talks. This series has been so great, I'm excited for more to come.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was so excited to read this book! As soon as I read that sneak peak at the end of A Royal Mistake I have been anxiously waiting to read Dylan and Rian’s story and of course Piper and Rayne did not disappoint.
Dylan was a foster kid, bonding with his foster mum until her death. He has been friends with Rian for years, always thinking he wasn’t good enough for her and using his fear as an excuse. My god, he can dirty talk, yikes. Makes for some steamy and yummy scenes!
Rian, sweet and shy Rian. I felt so sorry for Rian and the way her parents used her as a pawn in their quest to have the smartest child. She had so much pressure to be the best and the most intelligent when all she needed was for them to love her and be proud of her.
With a little push Dylan finally makes his feelings known to Rian and because they were friends first, they transition really well into a relationship. Nothing feels awkward, forced and they just sync together really well. Communication is a bit of an obstacle for them but once that barrier has been is broken they flourish. I loved them as a couple!
Piper and Rayne just keep dropping all of these little hints and sneak peaks to the next roommate’s stories and I am so excited to read and get to know them! Bring on Ethan and Evan’s story next!
The Rival Roomies is a great friends to lovers romance. Piper Rayne can do no wrong in my eyes and did not disappoint with this book. Dylan and Rian's love story is so charming and easy to read.
Rian and Dylan have been friends for a long time. Rian has been hiding her feelings for Dylan and doesn't know if he will ever see her as more than a friend. When she gets a new roommate that happens to be his frenemy, Dylan starts acting differently.
Dylan is a bad boy and that just makes him even more attractive. When he is around Rian, they always have a great time but he doesn't want to cross that line with her.
When his ex-best friend, Jax, moves in with Dylan and Rian, he will do whatever he can to prevent Jax from charming Rian.
I loved the journey Rian and Dylan took as friends and learning to accept their feelings for each other!
I give The Rival Roomies 4 stars. I always adore Piper Rayne's plot and character development. Rian and Dylan's romance was beautiful and filled with sexual tension!! I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a friends to lovers romance read!!
i’ll never have enough of the friends-to-lovers trope and piper rayne did a wonderful job with dylan and rian’s story. rian’s a brilliant mathematician and she loves to bake while dylan is an entrepreneur who has his own tattoo parlour. initially, i was worried that there would be a love triangle but that notion was dispelled after a while. i liked that even though we focused on the main couple’s romance and the issues that they faced, i’m still reading about what’s happening in their friend group. i love that they’re all living so near each other. honestly, it’s a dream come true. although the rival roomies is my first book in the rooftop crew series, i’m already invested in all of the characters. i want to know seth’s rivalry with the bagel girl next door. what will happen to leilani and knox? what about jax who seems to be wild and bold? i also need to read the first two books after knowing that there’s some past between ethan, blanca and sierra & i’m interested to know about sierra’s romance with a prince.
