Even as the country is roiled by the pandemic, many still believe Allah will protect the virus from hurting them. This idea is in line with the Islamic view that Allah blesses the pious and punishes the impious in this world, and that the more one strives to please Allah the more one will prosper. This assumption leads to jihad attacks.
“Iranian fanatics protest closure of Shiite shrines,” by Yaghoub Fazeli, Saudi Gazette, March 17, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
DUBAI -The closure of Shiite pilgrimage sites in Iran’s cities of Qom and Mashhad as part of the country’s efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus has prompted sit-ins and protests in the two cities, according to videos circulating on social media.
Iran closed the Shiite shrines of Imam Reza in Mashhad, Fatima Masumeh in Qom and Shah Abdol-Azim in Tehran on Monday until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Several videos showed protesters demanding authorities to re-open the Fatima Masumeh shrine in Qom, the epicenter of the outbreak.
One video showed angry protesters trying to force their way in through one of the shrine’s entrance doors.
A group of protesters partially damaged one of the shrine’s entrance doors, while another group were able to make it inside chanting religious slogans.
The protesters were eventually dispersed and the shrine’s entrance door was closed again, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
Another video showed protesters staging a sit-in outside the shrine. Men could be heard wailing and crying in the video….

With the advent of the holy Covid-19 and the closure of all sites for performing the duty of Hajj, Shi’a and Sunni devotees will find themselves bereft of their usual licking of shrines, ar$e-lifting and head-banging procedures, to the point of losing their cute zebibah and the benefit of a healthy, most holy bowel movement.
Thus I suspect new cases of terminal boredom will arise amongst the Ummah, with a stronger strain of Sudden Jihad Syndrome (SJS) as side effect.

Iran: Closure of Shiite pilgrimage sites over coronavirus prompts sit-ins and protests
……………….
Now even the Mullahs are not Islamic enough for these pious morons…

If a person, after reading the works of Islam, can believe Islam is valid, that person can believe anything; including invincibility from Covid-19.
Iran has produced one of the highest literacy rates, if one looks at the ability to read, yet it produces one of the highest rates of ignorance – a direct result of Islam. Muhammad purposely designed a system that locked Islamic minds into a closed loop that is buttressed by daily ritual.

Westman, you make some astute comments. This will be an interesting experiment regarding infection rates, and the protection by Allah for his faithful followers.

It’s just wonderful to see people of such strong faith, or are they just showing their ignorance and backward ways.

It is good that they pray in such close proximity. I was trying hard not to be nasty, but I have given in.
