The Plus Ones (Brooklyn Book Boyfriends 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,737 ratings

One Caribbean couples-only resort. Six friends who want to escape Brooklyn in the dead of winter. Two married couples. Two single fakers who hate each other’s freaking guts even though they accidentally made out once a million years ago, and now they have to share a freaking bed.

Love changes people.
I’ve seen what true love has done for my friends, and I want it for myself.
Somehow, I’m the only single guy left in our circle.
Somehow, Roxy Freaking Carter is the only single girl.

It’s the dead of winter.
Our best friends are planning a getaway at a couples-only resort in the Caribbean, and I refuse to be left out in the cold.
All Roxy and I have to do is pretend we don’t despise each other for one week, in a room with only one bed, so we can spend some much-needed time with our favorite people.
We’ve been pretending we didn’t make out that one time at a wedding, so we both know how good we are at pretending.
All I have to do is convince Roxy that I’m not dying to kiss her again.

Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.

Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want to laugh, warm your heart, and enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines who need to be chased, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life, and swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends.

Perfect enemies to lovers story

Perfect enemies to lovers story
** audio book review ** Enemies to lovers fans, meet your new favorite book! I loved it from the start. Roxy and Keaton are totally opposites. They can't stand each other. Well more Roxy can't stand him but he loves to push her buttons. They have to be in each others lives because they have mutual best friends and are god parents to the same boy. They end up going on a couples only vacation with their friends and pose as a couple. What is supposed to be fake starts to become so real. Then all they thought about each other is challenged. Did I mention they may have shared a kiss in the past? If you want hot steamy chemistry you have it in this book. I enjoyed it from the start to the end. While my heart was swooning, I was also cracking up at everyone's interactions. These narrators really were the perfect voices for these characters and brought them to life. I could totally picture them. Romance fans, make sure you check this one out.

Okay - Kayley Loring did an amazing job redeeming Keaton. He was likeable - a little - in Chase & Aimee's story, but he's totally loveable in The Plus Ones.

Roxy is Aimee's best friend - Keaton & Roxy are godparents to C&A's son Finn. Roxy had a couple of experiences with love earlier that eventually made her harden her heart and embark on at least a brief life of love 'em and leave 'em. Keaton, on the other hand, has matured emotionally since his last ex-girlfriend broke up with him a few years ago. He's ready to be part of a relationship, part of a family, and he's certain that Roxy is the one for him. He just needs to get her on board.

If Roxy was really annoyed after the kiss at C&A's wedding, then I'm really annoyed with her. Obviously, she does redeem herself over the course of this story, while she learns to let herself feel all the good things that come with a loving relationship.

    Great story.

It's a little strange that people who were not mentioned in books 1 or 2, not only know each other, but are best friends. Also, I've never seen a well-treated dog that didn't love (love, LOVE!) their owner.
That said, I like the chemistry between the 2 mains. They know enough about each other and share enough with the reader that you're invested.

As Keaton has watched his friends find love, get married and begin having kids he begins to realize how much he wants that for himself. He thought that was where his last relationship was heading until she left town and him behind. He hasn’t forgotten the one kiss he shared with Roxy five years ago but even since then things between them have been awkward.

Roxy has two serious relationships in her past and both were ultimate failures. Since then she has kept her relationships short and casual but she wants love and marriage and realizes that is not the way to go about it.

When they end up pretending to be a couple so that they can go on vacation with their married friends things are about to become complicated. They are like oil and water but when they find themselves sharing the same room Keaton is determined to show her that the sparks of antagonism they feel for each other is masking sparks of a different kind and the result is explosive.

Hot chemistry and sarcastic banter prevail in this enemies to lovers story and the great cast of secondary enhance the story. I received a complimentary copy of the audio book and thought the narrators were perfect at bringing the emotion and humor of the story to life.

I laughed my way thru this story. Roxy is stubborn and sarcastic and secretly in love with Keaton. Keaton is a bit of a mystery in the previous book because only bits of his personality are revealed. He is a sweet guy who wants love and wants Roxy to be his woman. Keaton is also sexy as sin.
I loved this book and would give it 10 stars if I could.

Reading this book felt like creme brûlée, I know I’m weird but bare with me here! When you start to whisk the ingredients (Keaton and Roxy) together, it's kind of deep orange (passion on the sunset on Antigua), you keep whisking them it together and it gets a lighter color (passion and teasing becomes love and worshiping). Then you put fire (sexy scenes) in it and burn the sugar (prejudices) giving you a hard crunchy crust (K+R’s bond is unbreakable) and underuneath you get something soft warm delicious goodness that holds on the spoon and just melts into your mouth (their story) giving you the most delicious experience ever with every bite! (The ending! Because there’s no doubt Kayley can write romance)
I literally made a squeaky sounds for real with every page I turned. This book was hotter than a mid July day in the Caribbean at noon.

Keaton is really smart and he knows a little about everything and I love how he loved learning and wasn’t afraid to show her he was smart and capable. Roxy is really funny! I laughed out loud with her thoughts, they were hilarious!

The whole time I kept a smile on my face. I cheered for them I really did! I wanted to physically push them together. I think you could actually see the attraction between Keaton and Roxy from the start of their story story, they misscommunicated but when they plan their whole trip to Antigua and got there, *sigh* they couldn’t be more perfect for each other.

I loved Tonight you’re mine and Come Back to Bed and their characters but even more the whole group of people together! Even though I haven’t read Vince and Nina’s story yet I loved their friendship with everyone and how everyone in the group cheered for #ROXTON4EVA I highlighted quotes I loved like my life depended on it. I felt like all the animals from the little mermaid, just cheering and screaming “just kiss the girl”. This 2 definitely met their match. Its a crossover with characters from Come Back to Bed and Tonight You’re Mine but is a complete standalone

Somehow Kayley Loring manages to take a secondary character from a previous book who is flat and not all that lovable, and turns him into a top-tier book boyfriend. Roxy is sassy and hilarious, Keaton is witty and charming and absolute perfection. It’s a standalone, but you also get a delicious peek into the lives of the couples from previous books in the series. I wish I could give it more than five stars. Definitely a must-read!

It’s crazy how much I hated Keaton in “Tonight you’re mine” but I was absolutely smitten and loved him in this one 😍 ... I mean he just wanted love didn’t he? & sometimes it’s there right in front of you all along 😏

She did everything she could to avoid him like didn’t she 😂 & his dog oh my god I died laughing, it pissed all over his parade.

I don’t think I’ve read a story that involved so much kissing between two people that give off them perfect for each other vibes, every time they kissed it lead to an whole other level of intensity between them, totally swoon worthy tbh 😏

▫️ I loved how they both were with the kids especially Finn 🥰

▫️I loved how much he actually noticed about her, it really showed during the couples nights that even with the distance they were still consciously paying attention to each other

▫️ I was like why is Chase so set against Keaton pursuing her but I loved that he was looking out for the both, that Zoltar card scene, he’s a babe Chase 😜

▫️ Her parents and the card game hahaha he blew the lid right off their little shenanigans 😂

    ▫️ The snoring 😂

Ugh there’s to much I loved it, I think this has been my favourite book by Kayley so far 💜

This is my 4th novel from the Author and her novels are only getting better and better. I live everything about this novel. The lovable (funny and witty) characters, story and story lines, pacing and continuity of the story as a whole. It's a well edited story that makes reading so easy smooth and enjoyable. A really delicious comedy enemy to lovers romance that works. Unforgettable.

This book was pretty good. Steamy, enjoyable sex scenes. Not much angst or conflict once Keaton and Roxy get together though. I was expecting something to go wrong, but it never really did.
