Wait, what? Doesn’t al-Qaeda know that it has nothing, nothing whatsoever, to do with Islam? Pope Francis, call your office! You need to go explain to these benighted folks that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence”!
The false analyses and wishful thinking that prevail in the West about Islam and jihad will bear bitter fruit.
“Increased terror attacks in Africa amid coronavirus pandemic,” by Abu-Bakarr Jalloh, DW, April 9, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
…The so-called “Islamic State” (IS) and al-Qaeda released mixed statements last week. On the one hand, IS urged its followers to repent and take care of themselves because the coronavirus was a punishment from God for non-Muslims, the news agency AP reported. It also urged its followers to show no mercy and launch attacks in this time of crisis, according to AP.Al-Qaeda’s statement, on the other hand, called on non-Muslims to use their time under lockdowns to learn about Islam. Both statements are in total contrast to the guidelines set by the World Health Organization aimed at preventing the further spread of the coronavirus….

Kufar is punishable (can be killed) in Quran..

Carolyn, why are you obsessed with the Kenites? Despite the belief of some that this tribe descended from Cain, they were allies of the Israelites, and are generally well-regarded in the Bible. Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, was a Kenite.
Moreover, there is no indication that there is any link between this tribe and Islam.

Yes! And watch those David Wood Acts17 Apologetics videos! For your Arabic-speaking friends, send them “Daring Question” episodes by Brother Rachid. We absolutely should be studying the Qur’an, first by understanding abrogation — how the violent verses in Chapter 9 cancel out all those peaceful verses from when Muhammad was in Mecca — and then learning all the other verses that will enable us to spread knowledge and understanding to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. By the time the corona virus crisis is over we should be able to show how the Qur’an justifies sex slavery (4:24), wife-beating (4:34), marriage to pre-pubescent girls (65:4) and of course all the lovely science verses about how the sky is a canopy that Allah holds up with pillars that we can’t see, he can roll it up like a scroll, or it can fall on us in pieces if he were to allow. And how the Qur’an both accepts the gospel and contradicts it at the same time (watch David Wood’s “Islamic Dilemma” video for details on that). Yes, for once, I whole-heartedly agree with al-Qaeda on this one!

I finished reading the Koran about 5 years ago. NEVER, have I read such utter bilge. The lies, the contradictions, scientific errors. One can see it was made up on the hoof just to satiate a psycho, perverted, degenerate. It is for the weak minded & retarded. One can see it is so backward & it is just predatory Priests trying to keep hold over their flocks. Imagine a “Bible” or other Religion that perm its its followers to murder, rape & enslave non-members? There is no other!

Lesson One:
In Sahih al-Bukhari, the most canonical hadith collection, Book 9, Volume 84, Hadith 57, Muhammad says:
“Whoever changes his Islamic religion, then kill him.”
That and other similar statements of Muhammad are the reason why all the main schools of Islamic law mandate death for apostates from Islam.
eduardo odraude says
Well, the adversary will claim that the Old Testament contains equivalent violence and nastiness. It’s true that in the OT the Jews are told to wipe out whole towns and they do.
But here’s a key difference. The OT merely describes how that happened in the past, in a few locations. By contrast, the Islamic trilogy (Qur’an, Hadith, Sira) does not merely describe past horrifying events. The Islamic trilogy prescribes for the present and and future, gives open-ended commands to make warfare, whenever feasible, against unbelievers, until the whole world submits to Islamic law totalitarianism.
There are many other key differences between the Judeo-Christian paradigm and the Islamic one. I’ll point out just two key differences:
1. In Genesis, the OT conceives human beings as made in the image of God. Qur’an 42:11 denies that anything is like Allah. In one popular translation, the Qur’an says, “Nothing is as his [Allah’s] likeness,” clearly echoing biblical language. The OT conceives God as Father, whereas the Qur’an denies that Allah is a father or that we are anything more than Allah’s servants or slaves. The great historian Daniel Boorstin in one place notes that to believe that human beings are made in the image of God gives a certain permission to humans to be creative, to imitate God’s creativity. Whereas in Islam, Boorstin says, “to create is a rash and dangerous act” because creativity is reserved to Allah. Regardless of whether either religion is true or not, one leads to authoritarian, closed societies, the other toward open societies that protect human rights.
2. In part because the central figure of the New Testament said “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, to God the things that are God’s,” and also, “My kingdom is not of this world,” Christians from the very beginning have had at least a vague sense that there were to be two domains on earth: the domain of the state and the domain of religion. Where exactly the boundary was to be drawn was only vaguely understood and often misunderstood, and sometimes kings tried to dominate popes, and popes tried to dominate kings, but there was always at least a latent sense that there were to be two distinct realms. That partial decentralization of society was a key factor that made Christian societies capable of a degree of freedom and evolution, leading eventually to the European Enlightenment and the First Amendment to the US Constitution. By contrast, Muhammad became Caesar, or at any rate the ruler of a totalitarian expansionist theocratic state. Because Muhammad is the prime exemplar for Muslims, Muslim-majority nations tend toward authoritarian theocracy to one degree or another. As I mentioned, even if neither religion is true, they lead to very different social outcomes.

These moslim terrorists have an agenda in saying that everyone not moslim should learn about islam. They believe that these who take their advice will become ‘believers’ in the filthy evil and begin their own terror campaign.
However, one must learn about islam in order to know just how filthy evil it is. One must learn that it is a belief system that glorifies murder, rape, theft, extortion, and constant lies to promote the filthy evil. One can learn that islam is the enemy of mankind, inspired by the demon enemy of mankind, satan the devil. One can learn that moslims hate everyone not moslim, esp Jews and Christians, and even other moslims who belong to a different sect. One can learn that all whom those moslims hate, they seek to kill. And there is no talking them out of this hatred and lust for killing. One can learn that their babies are taught this same hatred and lust for war against their “enemies.”
One can learn the goal of moslims…make islam the only religion on earth and subject all humans to its evil, satanic filth. And lie, lie and lie some more to lure the unwary and uninformed.

That’s right. A Muslim has no concept of a free mind, let alone a critical one. The do not grasp that a free person is one who thinks freely and makes their own judgements. To the Muslim, there is only belief. It is the highest cognitive function imaginable. everyone is either a believer or an unbeliever. To their minds, if we read the Qur’an, we would respond to it as they do. What else is possible? That we read the Qur’an and then say the things about it that we do is only comprehensible if we were utterly, utterly evil. We’ve heard, why are we not obeying? If we reject Islam before we’ve learnt about it, that still leaves some wiggle room. But once we’ve learnt about Islam and still reject it, well, there’s nothing else for it then. We deserve death.
I actually think we’re missing something here. When these freaks issue such invitations to infidels, it is usually a prelude to a major attack. We are certain to not become Muslims, being scrupulous, they will have ticked all the boxes.

Wellington says
I started to learn about Islam in 1971 when I took my first of three or four history courses on the Middle East (I was a History and Classical Studies major). By around 1980 I had concluded that Islam was the odd man out among the major religions of the world. I reached the conviction by then that Islam was awful and that no other major religion was (for the record, and as many know here, I am an agnostic but I am not an atheist—significant difference).
I like to deal in probabilities (actually I’m “wedded” to doing this), as in it was probable, but not a given, that mankind would produce a religion or two that would go very well with democracy, which form of government the ancient Greeks invented (single most original people ever, the ancient Greeks, though they still had fatal flaws—the love of war, which even mystified the Romans who admired the Greeks, being one of them). In any case, mankind did produce two such religions, Judaism and its offshoot, Christianity, which marvelously in their theological blueprint put forth the importance, indeed the imperative, of the worth of the individual. Such a theological (and ethical) conclusion works most admirably with democratic tenets, irrespective of the validity of these religions’ theological assertions.
It was also probable, again not a given, that mankind would produce subtle religions which are not inimical to democracy but actually not really conducive to them. Hinduism and Buddhism come foremost to mind here. They’re fine religions overall and to be respected—and they are not enemies of freedom even though a bit deficient on the matter of the importance of the individual person. Personally, I have no quarrel with them in any major way, seen of course from my agnostic point of view, from which point of view I “calculate” ALL religions.
Then there is Islam. As Arthur Schopenhauer opined, it is despicable. It is most certainly an inveterate enemy of liberty as much as Marxism and Nazism are. Well, again dealing with probabilities, guess it was very likely that mankind would produce a major faith that is venomous to the core of its very being. Mankind did. Mankind “came up” with Islam. Damn. What a waste.
And so mankind is stuck with a major religion which sucks all around. It not only doesn’t understand freedom, it is so nefarious as to use freedom to destroy freedom. Al-Qaeda, you know, should ALWAYS be seen as nothing more than the pure “application” of this most unfortunate of religions. Doing otherwise is indicative of either ignorance (respecting which much exists) or mendacity (respecting which much exists).

“Yes, ALL non-Muslims should take this time to learn the TRUTH about Islam….”
I can only wish, James, though while some will take this time, sadly most still won’t.
You know, unwillingness to learn about what is right and wrong, both intellectually and in the pure experiential realm, constitutes quite arguably the single greatest weakness of mankind. There are other candidates (e.g., an innate laziness that “resides” in us, certainly me) but herein lies “the greatest weakness.” Translation: Islam will still continue to get a pass by many who should have long ago excoriated and dismissed this particularly warped assessment of the cosmos.
Just sayin’.
