The Gospels offer the world many words of wisdom. One of these is, “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces” (Matthew 7:6).
Yesterday, the Times of Israel reported that Hamas terror chief Yahya Sinwar threatened Israel, “If ventilators are not brought into [Gaza], we’ll take them by force from Israel and stop the breathing of six million Israelis.”
On the face of it, especially with Israel providing whatever equipment they can to help make up for Hamas’ medical incapacity on account of the Palestinian Authority’s crippling sanctions on Gaza, this might seem like a case of extreme ingratitude. From a moral human being’s point of view, it is. When the dogs and swine “trample your pearls under their feet,” it could be a simple matter of ignorance of what they’ve been given. It could also be a case of despising you for presuming their need.
But when they “turn and tear you in pieces,” it is no longer about them; then it is about you, and has nothing to do with giving. The desire to turn and tear you in pieces has always been there, festering, seething and waiting for an outlet such as your giving has just provided. But Hamas’ hatred for Jews and intention to destroy Israel are common knowledge. Yet this is not merely dogs and swine turning and tearing you in pieces. It is much more sinister than that. When Sinwar says that they will “stop the breathing of six million Israelis,” he has chosen his words very deliberately. Every Muslim will have understood that he had invoked the gas chambers.

What should be expected from this man? Why would he change when change and reform are prohibited on sentence of death? Why would he dare express gratitude for charity from sub-human kuffar, who are only fit for death and slavery? How many people have died on his order? Why is he still walking and breathing? The US did well recently to eliminate another such monster. His time should be short.
Wellington says
“His time should be short.”
A beautiful sentiment, Frank. Can only wish that one named Mohammed from the seventh century had had his life cut short too–by at least ten years. How much better off the world would be had this occurred. And I mean to be very specific here, to wit, Mohammed’s life (or at least reputed life) arguably did more harm to mankind, all things considered and over the longest time period, than the life of ANY other single human being in history. Yeah, herein lies this horrible man’s true legacy—assuming that truth prevails which is always a big “if.” The Model Man my ass.
Hope you are doing well in a time when mankind is really down, and I am convinced this is due entirely, respecting etiology, to the Chinese thugs who run that country (and covered up about the coronavirus from day one) and which country has never, and probably will never, explore the parameters of freedom as the West has.
In short, China sucks as does the Islamic world. Long ago I got sick of the “Wisdom of the East” mantra. The “East” does not impress me and to the extent that it works it is almost entirely due to Western Civilization. Many will miss this.
Frank Anderson says
W. thank you for your kind words. My most important person and I are spending a lot of time watching the complete series Dark Shadows. Unlike the story, for the moment we are limited to the opportunities to deal with present problems to the present. There is nothing kuffar can do to stop muslims from aspiring to kill or enslave them. Any charity from kuffar to muslim is taken as a tribute due and not a gift.
Many years ago a fraternal organization spent months and collected thousands of dollars to assemble food boxes for Christmas. When people appeared in their Cadillacs demanding their boxes, other ways to serve charitable interests were found.
GI asked in a recent comment why were demands not being made on Egypt? (Why not Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, The Emirates. . .?) Because Egypt is not run by sub-human infidels. Muslim charity to muslims seems more to supporting conquest than relieving poverty.
I wish well for all of us, for what little or much that may be worth.

I agree 100%, and would add that most free people who have never known unfreedom, not only have no idea what unfreedom is, but actually have no idea what freedom is either. This comes out particularly strongly in the way many Muslims *and* ex-Muslims who have grown up in freedom in the West conceptualise Muslims who have grown up under Islam. Often, they just don’t get it. It’s not that they cannot get it, obviously they can. But their conception of themselves is pretty flimsy as it is. So taking a long, hard look at Muslims in the Dar al-Islam might force then to take a good look at themselves, and they don’t want to go there. This, I think, at least in part accounts for the paucity of Warraqian frankness, such as, the West is best.

That is a true statement. The most important public health leaders in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, were purposely LIED to by the Chinese government regarding both the transmission and severity of COVID-19. I have that on very reliable authority.
The Chinese government leaders have blood on their hands – and should be made to answer in a world court for crimes committed.
These Chinese thugs should do prison time and also make monetary restitution.
Wellington says
I’m as sick of China, James, almost as much as I am of the Islamic world (the main difference being that the Chinese, speaking in the aggregate, are bastards but not crazy while Muslims, speaking in the aggregate, are both bastards AND crazy). In fact, once one leaves the orb of Western Civilization there is no doubt there are specific achievements to admire but no civilization as a whole to admire.
Here Western Civilization stands alone, which civilization, and no other, invented philosophy, democracy, the most decent legal systems, the scientific method, easily the greatest number of technological achievements, women’s rights as no other civilization remotely has AND the capacity to apologize for past wrongdoings as no other civilization remotely has. And what I just listed is just a sampling of why, a la Ibn Warraq, the West is best.
And yet the West is the ONLY civilization a person can criticize with impunity, never mind all the carrion (e.g., Ilhan Omar) feeding off of the West’s achievements all the while denigrating it.
Upside-down world, which is to say a stupid world. To the very extent the West is the most criticized civilization or society, to this very extent, I would contend, is this hypothesis of mine confirmed as a very valid hypothesis.

“Do not confuse altruism with [charity], kindness, good will or respect for the rights of others. These are not primaries, but consequences, which, in fact, altruism makes impossible…. What is the moral code of altruism? The basic principle of altruism is that man has no right to exist for his own sake, that service to others is the only justification of his existence, and that self-sacrifice is his highest moral duty, virtue and value….The irreducible primary of altruism, the basic absolute, is self-sacrifice—which means; self-immolation, self-abnegation, self-denial, self-destruction—which means: the self as a standard of evil, the selfless as a standard of the good….Now there is one word—a single word—which can blast the morality of altruism out of existence and which it cannot withstand—the word: “Why?” Why must man live for the sake of others? Why must he be a sacrificial animal? Why is that the good? There is no earthly reason for it—and, ladies and gentlemen, in the whole history of philosophy no earthly reason has ever been given….Do not hide behind such superficialities as whether you should or should not give a dime to a [Palestinian] beggar. That is not the issue. The issue is whether you do or do not have the right to exist without giving him that dime. The issue is whether you must keep buying your life, dime by dime, from any beggar who might choose to approach you. The issue is whether the need of others is the first mortgage on your life and the moral purpose of your existence. The issue is whether man is to be regarded as a sacrificial animal. Any man of self-esteem will answer: “No.” Altruism says: “Yes.”…Altruism declares that any action taken for the benefit of others is good, and any action taken for one’s own benefit is evil. Thus the beneficiary of an action is the only criterion of moral value—and so long as that beneficiary is anybody other than oneself, anything goes….
Even though altruism declares that “it is more blessed to give than to receive,” it does not work that way in practice. The givers are never blessed; the more they give, the more is demanded of them; complaints, reproaches and insults are the only response they get for practicing altruism’s virtues (or for their actual virtues). Altruism cannot permit a recognition of virtue; it cannot permit self-esteem or moral innocence. Guilt is altruism’s stock in trade, and the inducing of guilt is its only means of self-perpetuation. If the giver is not kept under a torrent of degrading, demeaning accusations, he might take a look around and put an end to the self-sacrificing. Altruists are concerned only with those who suffer—not with those who provide relief from suffering, not even enough to care whether they are able to survive. When no actual suffering can be found, the altruists are compelled to invent or manufacture it.” – Ayn Rand

Yes, one could argue that the Judaic ethic at times might be too kind, but it is irrefutable that the Islamic ethic is at all times heinous—the “best of peoples” {Sura 3.110} and the “vilest of creatures” {Sura 98.6} rot serving as just one collective example of how wretched Mo’s creed truly is.

W. there are two versions of the Great Commandment in the New Testament. They both say the same thing, only using different sentence structure. Love God; and Love your neighbor AS yourself. I cannot love anyone if I am dead. Thus there is automatically a duty of self-preservation. Maimonides reached the same general conclusion when collecting and ranking the 613 Mitzvot (plural of Mitzvah), writing the “All rules bend as necessary for the preservation of life” and I think from the Talmud the story of the Rabbinical student who asked 2 Rabbis the question, “Explain to me the meaning of the Torah?” One shook his head and said it is impossible to explain it in a lifetime. The other (Hillel?) smiled (with the same kind of smile I envision on Jesus) and said, “Son, it is easy: Do not do unto others that which you would not wish done unto you. All the rest is commentary. Now go and study and put it to work in your life.” We cannot put anything to work if we are dead or enslaved.
I am still at a loss after almost 30 years of contact with the US Jewish community to understand the deliberate ignorance and blindness to muslim teachings concerning the extermination of Jews.
John Densler says
The problem most in the West have us they do not understand Islam or base their understanding of Islam as they would understand any other religion. One way to better understand islam is to learn from Dr Bill Warner. hear uis comments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg5TY5CPrzk

J.D., I trusted GWB for years when he said that “religion of peace” lie. I assumed he was informed and that islam was just like Judaism and Christianity in its goals. You know what happens when one assumes. Well, it happened to me. Bill Warner is to me an excellent source to start learning. So also is our host, Robert Spencer. I mention frequently Mark Gabriel. The issue is to get people to start. Once started, A few might see islam as attractive; but far more will see it for the dangerous monster it is. The more that is known and understood personally instead of second hand, the more active people will be in resisting the ongoing conquest.
yiyoya says
“Love your neighbor AS yourself”
Why on EARTH should I love my neighbor as myself? No EARTHLY reason has ever been given. What if my neighbor is Adolf Hitler, Ted Bundy, Fidel Castro, or the 16 muslims who took down the World Trade Center? Why should I love my neighbor then? No EARTHLY, RATIONAL, reason has ever been given, or can ever be given. Only an appeal to mysticism, and appeal to some supernatural realm, can justify this irrational Great Commandment.
“To love is to value. The man who tells you that it is possible to value without values, to love those whom you appraise as worthless, is the man who tells you that it is possible to grow rich by consuming without producing and that paper money is as valuable as gold . . . . When it comes to love, the highest of emotions, you permit them to shriek at you accusingly that you are a moral delinquent if you’re incapable of feeling causeless love. When a man feels fear without reason, you call him to the attention of a psychiatrist; you are not so careful to protect the meaning, the nature and the dignity of love.
Love is the expression of one’s values, the greatest reward you can earn for the moral qualities you have achieved in your character and person, the emotional price paid by one man for the joy he receives from the virtues of another. [Altruism] demands that you divorce your love from values and hand it down to any [neighbor], not as response to his worth, but as response to his need, not as reward, but as alms, not as a payment for virtues, but as a blank check on vices. [Altruism] tells you that the purpose of love is to set you free of the bonds of morality, that love is superior to moral judgment, that true love transcends, forgives and survives every manner of evil in its object, and the greater the love the greater the depravity it permits to the loved. To love a man for his virtues is paltry and human, [altruism] tells you; to love him for his flaws is divine. To love those who are worthy of it is self-interest; to love the unworthy is sacrifice. You owe your love to those who don’t deserve it, and the less they deserve it, the more love you owe them—the more loathsome the object, the nobler your love—the more unfastidious your love, the greater your virtue—and if you can bring your soul to the state of a dump heap that welcomes anything on equal terms, if you can cease to value moral values, you have achieved the state of moral perfection.” – Ayn Rand
Frank Anderson says
Y., I agree with you and Ayn Rand. Self-interest is nothing to be ashamed of. I have helped many clients who destroyed their financial lives wasting everything they had to bail out relatives. I found as a first step to awaken their sense of duty to themselves was to remind them of the equality of the parties in the statement that too many took to mean “love your neighbor MORE than yourself”. I defer to professional psychologists and psychiatrists to explain why someone has such low self value as to destroy themselves in the process of bailing out others incompetence.
Have you seen George C. Scott portraying General Patton in the movie Patton? In the opening General Patton is speaking saying among other things, “No poor dumb bastard ever served his country by dying for it: He served his country by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his.” I am useless to anyone or any good goal if I am dead or impoverished or enslaved.
My life’s best day of work happened when I found and called my birth mother to tell her that no matter what she chose for our future, all pain, all hurt, all guilt that she ever felt for giving me up to adoption ended right now. That gave her the sense of self-worth that she needed to end over 30 years of neglect and abuse to live another 20 years in freedom.

Frank, I have no illusions about Islam. I’m just saying that for most Muslims, it’s not their fault they were born into that faith. That doesn’t mean one shouldn’t defend oneself or one’s civilization against them.
Frank Anderson says
Gamzu, fault has no application when it comes to your or my survival. It doesn’t matter why someone wishes to kill or enslave us. They do. They are continuing a war they declared and continue to fight whether we fight back or not. Remember the indecisive soldier in WWI who had Hitler in his sights and failed to shoot. The consequences of his hesitation cost tens of millions of lives and trillions (US numbers) of dollars in harm. If a person does not know why he is at war, he will lose.
dhans says
You have hit on exactly how the message of the Bible can never be reduced to a single quote. Should we have compassion for evil? No, first we should demand sincere and demonstrable repentance.
Frank Anderson says
dhans, I think you are correct. For example when one law says one thing, and another says something slightly different, it limits or qualifies the first; and the two must be considered at the same time. For example: Statute 1 says the speed limit on the road is that which is reasonable and proper under all conditions and circumstance at the moment.
Statute 2 says the maximum speed is the posted limit.
When someone is too close to react when driving at the posted limit, and the leading vehicle must slow or stop, the leading vehicle is going to get hit. But the following vehicle has set cruise control at or above the posted limit because no enforcement effort is being made.
Failing to consider the entire law or rules allows perverse results the law never intended.
yiyoya says
dhans writes: “You have hit on exactly how the message of the Bible can never be reduced to a single quote. Should we have compassion for evil? No, first we should demand sincere and demonstrable repentance.”
The Bible contains many sayings, many proverbs, much advice. I suppose you can pick and choose what you want to follow or not and there are many ways to interpret parables. Most Christians are “Cafeteria Christians”, they have to be. How else can you practice a religion whose ultimate message is that self-immolation, self-sacrifice, self-destruction, self-abnegation, voluntary suicide, for worthless sinners is the highest, most noble ideal you can practice, and still stay alive and pursue happiness on earth? Did not Jesus Christ say give up your worldly possessions and follow me? It is impossible to combine the pursuit of happiness with the role of a sacrificial animal.
Whatever contradictory or open to interpretation parables and messages it may contain, Christianity does have an essential thrust, an essential, core message, and that essential direction, that esential thrust, that essential message cannot be ignored or evaded. The essential core message of Christianity is that altruism is the highest moral ideal, altruism is moral perfection, and self-preservation, concern with personal prosperity, the personal pursuit of happiness is at best secondary to self-sacrifice. In other words self-sacrifice, self-immolation, self-abnegation, self-destruction, suicide if need be, for worthless others, for worthless sinners, is the highest morality you can practice. It is the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ for worthless sinners, random strangers, that is the central thrust of the Christian religion. Without the self-immolation of the Crucifixion and the supposed Resurrection, and the Ascension into “Heaven”, the Ascension into a supernatural dimension of eternal life, the story of Christ, his significance, crumbles to dust. Therefore “Love your neighbor as yourself”, no matter who your neighbor is, whether your neighbor deserves love or not, admiration or not, whether he is evil or a saint is a central message of Christianity. Moreover, the Great Commandment is framed and presented as a COMMANDMENT not a SUGGESTION, it isn’t called the Great Suggestion, but the Great COMMANDMENT.
“Christ, in terms of the Christian philosophy, is the human ideal. He personifies that which men should strive to emulate. Yet, according to the Christian mythology, he died on the cross not for his own sins but for the sins of the nonideal people. In other words, a man of perfect virtue was sacrificed for men who are vicious and who are expected or supposed to accept that sacrifice. If I were a Christian, nothing could make me more indignant than that: the notion of sacrificing the ideal to the nonideal, or virtue to vice. And it is in the name of that symbol that men are asked to sacrifice themselves for their inferiors. That is precisely how the symbolism is used….
Now there is one word—a single word—which can blast the morality of altruism out of existence and which it cannot withstand—the word: “Why?” Why must man live for the sake of others? Why must he be a sacrificial animal? Why is that the good? There is no earthly reason for it—and, ladies and gentlemen, in the whole history of philosophy no earthly reason has ever been given.
It is only mysticism that can permit moralists to get away with it. It was mysticism, the unearthly, the supernatural, the irrational that has always been called upon to justify it—or, to be exact, to escape the necessity of justification. One does not justify the irrational, one just takes it on faith. What most moralists—and few of their victims—realize is that reason and altruism are incompatible.” – Ayn Rand
Frank Anderson says
yiyoya, I think many Christians for 2000 years have seen self-sacrifice and martyrdom as a goal. When making Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire, Emperor Constantine could hardly allow people to think they were more important than the empire. He did not want people who would live for the empire. He wanted people who would die for it. Almost 2000 years later, listen carefully to the oath taken to follow the orders of Adolf Hitler “to the death”. Look at the millions of Germans killed keeping that oath. Listen to interviews of those who survived the war about the meaning of that oath.
What is the difference between Jesus being “the ONLY child of God” and all of us seeing ourselves as Children of God and brothers and sisters of Jesus? It is the responsibility we take for our lives. That is probably one of the reasons Jews have always been treated as the “evil other” (See, Constantine’s Sword). Jews don’t worship people. The greatest most revered, most remembered people in Judaism were never perfect. In fact, some where real stinkers; but God found a way to use them for good purposes anyway. If one must be perfect to have value; then imperfect people have no value and can be thrown away on whim.
I think in a scientific sense, as far as science can explain, we are all the Children of God. Our parents could not make the cells that come together and start our path to life if their lives depended on it and they had all the money and technical resources at hand. All they did was what has been done for time immemorial to bring 2 special cells together to start a process that leads to us. Then their work of parenting starts for them as trustees of the child God has made.
We may reach the same conclusion by different paths: We have a duty of self-interest.

Frank Anderson says
Gamzu, healthy review and reflection is a good idea for many subjects. The “healthy part” is to control the review so that sight is not lost of the important issue, survival. How much review is necessary to understand that islam wants to convert, enslave or kill the entire world? It has made no secret of that “final, perfect, complete and unchangeable” goal for 1400 years, since M was thrown out of Mecca and took Medina by conquest. What is to be gained by soft-hearted and soft-headed inquiry? On the other hand (client’s prayer-Lord please help me find a one-handed lawyer!) what is lost by engaging in mindless indecision and speculation? If you don’t know what they want, and what you want, you are on a fence waiting for someone to make a decision for you. Compassion and understanding should stop when becoming self-destructive.
