“But critics say the suspension is further evidence of regulators showing leniency to barristers guilty of crimes.”
Maybe the leniency stems from his being a barrister. But we have also seen, many, many times, Muslims in the U.K. get special treatment from fearful and deferential officials. Remember the Muslim rape gangs that roamed free for years because authorities were afraid of being accused of “racism” and “Islamophobia.” Were officials in this case too afraid of appearing “Islamophobic” to give justice to Ahmed’s victim?
“Immigration barrister, 40, avoids being struck off after headbutting female lawyer and shoving her against wall outside Calvin Klein store in Chelsea,” by Sam McEvoy, Mailonline, April 1, 2020:
A top barrister who headbutted a female lawyer – leaving her covered in blood on the ground – was spared being struck off.
Disciplinary chiefs handed Rashid Ahmed just a three-month suspension over a drunken attack on King’s Road in Chelsea.
Ahmed, an immigration law specialist, left his junior colleague ‘on the pavement, on her back’, with ‘blood all over her face, and surrounded by members of the public’.
Ahmed, a deputy head of chambers, was restrained by passers-by and was allegedly seen still clenching his fists.
He was convicted over the assault at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in April 2018 and handed a 12-month community order.
A Bar disciplinary tribunal has now sided against kicking Ahmed from the profession – despite ruling he had undermined public confidence.
The tribunal insisted Ahmed was ‘not a risk to the public’, and had ‘shown insight’.
But critics say the suspension is further evidence of regulators showing leniency to barristers guilty of crimes….
It started with Mr Ahmed throwing water and an ashtray before he was then allegedly seen ‘to grab her, shake her, push her up against a pillar between two of the shop windows’.
Ahmed then tried ‘one headbutt that missed’, and then ‘a second headbutt to her face’, making contact ‘just above her nose, close to the eye’….
Ahmed admitted a single charge of professional misconduct – behaving in a way likely to diminish public trust in the profession….
Ahmed was initially handed a suspended jail term after admitting assault. The conviction was later swapped for a community order and unpaid work following an appeal….

UK: Muslim barrister headbuts female lawyer, leaving her covered in blood on ground, gets three-month suspension

…………………
Given that the victim was also a member of the legal profession, I doubt this was the motive.
And note two grimly salient points here–one is that this was a sustained attack–not a person just losing their temper and giving someone a shove. Then, after his victim wound up on the ground covered in blood, he did nothing to help her, but left this to random passersby.

1. What is a muslim doing practising Western (man-made) law when they are supposed to respect only the law of Allah (Shariah Law)?.
2. Furthermore, what is such an unsuitable person doing in charge of legal chambers?
3. Why is anyone who clearly lacks the basic civility and powers of self-restraint to control their behaviour within the limits of the law allowed to hold any official position relating to the practice and dispensing of the law?
4. Why was this muslim barrister drunk when alcohol is forbidde is islam? Does this not suggest a fundamental lack of personal integrity unacceptable for any person holding a senior professional position?
5. Why was this person in an intoxicated state when presumably in a professional situation with a junior colleague to whom he wsa no doubt professionally responsible?
This specimen is clearly not in any way suitable to hold any professional position let alone a senior one. Furthermore, since actual bodily harm was caused on this occasion, the community order is nowhere near adequate as a sanction for this serious misdemeanour. The suspended jail sentence is the very least that he should have had, if not an actual term in jail, and additionally a heavy fine and compensation payments. And there is no doubt that he should have been dismissed from the legal profession.
James Lincoln says
Jayell,
Excellent post, agree on all five counts…

This Is senseless. Of course Rashid Ahmed should be struck off (disbarred). He ” grabbed her, shook her, pushed her up against a pillar between two of the shop windows. At some point he threw an ashtray at her. Then he head butted her — twice. The first time he missed (not sure what that means), the second time he smashed into her face so hard that she was covered with blood. As she lay on the ground, bleeding, he stood there, his fists still clenched, and had to be restrained by ohers. Yet he has not been disbarred. He was first given a three-month suspension, but even that was judged too harsh. On appeal, he was given community service — but he can still practice law without interruption. The tribunal that heard his case said he had “shown insight.”Wha insight? Did he sorrowfully admit that “I sometimes have a temper when I’ve hd a little too much to drink that I really must learn to abstain; I’ve never done anything like that before and I can promise you nothing like this will ever happen again?”Where is the group of lawyers or judges to that Rashid Ahmed.
Final question: can his victim — it’s unclear to me if she is a colleague in the same chambers, which might inhibit her — sue him for his assault? How nice it would be if a large sum of money were to be exacted from Rashid Ahmed.
MS MADELEINE DUNN says
He assaulted her, she should sue him then on a tort – doing harm to her. If he was drunk then he was not following muslim law, he should not be drinking. should not get protection as a muslim

Jihad Watch shows the Islam we don’t see on main stream media outlets. On the MSM we see the destroyed cities and lives but the imagery is not equated with Islam. The real Islam we see on Jihad Watch is an abhorent indictment of that totalitarian religion. On the other hand, the MSM endorses Islam as a great religion. Yet only the mentally unbalanced would embrace this religious product if they were apprised of the truth.
Mark Berlinger says
Protecting the reputation of Muslims is a legal priority in dhimmified Europe. For no good reason references to any of the dozens of verses in Islam’s sacred texts calling for violence and subjugation of non-Muslims, disobedient women and apostates are not allowed.
Here again UK authorities avoid any serious punishment of Western Civilization’s cultural replacements.
Phil Copson says
Can you just imagine what the sentence would be were any white British male to attack a female muslim lawyer ? 5 years ? 10 years ? Although, to be fair – he probably wouldn’t do more than six months, as by then he’d have been beaten to death.
There was an incident during a trial in the UK, where the muslim defendants and their families accosted the female prosecutors inside the court buildings at the end of the day’s proceedings, and threatened to rape them – the “authorities” did nothing apart from give them a “warning” – can you imagine what the reaction would be were any member of any organisation on the Establishment and MSM’s “hate-list” – a UKIP voter, a member of Britain First, Pegida, Liberty GB, a Tommy Robinson supporter etc – ever to conduct themselves in such a way ?
Things which were utterly unthinkable 20 years ago are now everyday occurrences, and the “authorities” just keep on lapping it up like good little dhimmis.

Hang bacon on the door of a Mosque get 6 months in lock up, lose your job ,and get killed in prison by Moslems ,beat up a female fellow lawyer in public get a suspended sentence keep your law practice.Where is justice in the courts in England going into full Sharia mode?
Jayell says
Yes, and the British public were never informed that gentleman in question was murdered by muslims in jail. We heard purely in passing that ‘he’d died’ and nothing more, and there was never any report of the muslim culprits being brought to justice. I believe that it may have been the UK Authorities’ intention for Tommy Robinson to ‘just happen’ to meet the same unfortunate fate when he was deliberately transferred to a muslim-infested institution after his kangaroo trial in Leeds. I’m not sure how they would have explained that one away. but no doubt the Home Secretary at the time, the muslim Javid, aided and abetted by the dhimmi PM Theresa May, would no doubt have come up with some convincing-sounding bullsh*t which would have been carefully promulgated through the controlled MSM and amplified ad nauseam by the obnoxious BBC. Interesting to note that Javid has since been permanently removed from high office, although he was allowed to ‘resign under protest’ for PC reasons – a curious demise for one who had previously been given the full publicity treatment, crude triumphalist pose and all, with the implication that he might be (to quote his own words) ‘the first ethnic minority British prime Minister’. In which case, God help us!

‘A Muslim barrister..’ Yes, there do seem to be two legal systems now in use in Britain; one for the ordinary British and one for our new masters. This animal should have been charged with GBH, ‘threatening behaviour’ and several other offences. Additionally he should have suffered a greater sentence because he was a barrister and finally for striking a woman which must be the ultimate in sickening behaviour. But then, what can you expect? He is, after all, just a muslim.
