Airbus is highly involved in fighting against the coronavirus and has deployed its A350-1000 test aircraft to transport four millions of face masks from China.

The masks have been donated to governments of Airbus home countries: France, Germany, Spain and the UK.

It is not very common for test aircraft to be deployed on such missions. Nevertheless, Airbus is putting all the efforts to help contain the pandemic.

Apart from the A350-1000, in March the airframer also used its A330-800 and an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) to secure Europe with vitally important supplies from China.

Airbus also deployed an A400M and its Beluga fleet to transport shipments of masks between its European sites, in France, Germany, the UK and Spain.

Important to note that Airbus is also involved in designing and manufacturing ventilators and 3D printed visors which are critical resources for hospitals.
