“Supreme Leader: Not fearing US result of acting according to Holy Qur’an,” Islamic Republic News Agency, April 25, 2020 (thanks to Henry):
Tehran, April 25, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the only way to save humanity from oppression, discrimination, war, insecurity and suppression of values while ensuring the rule of security, health and comfort is to follow the practical instructions of the Holy Qur’an.
“Human beings have faced oppression, discrimination, wars, insecurity, and the suppression of values throughout history and today too. The solution to all of these problems is the Qur’an. If we act in accordance with the Qur’an these sufferings will be eliminated,” Ayatollah Khamenei said while addressing Qur’an Recitation Ceremony held on the first day of the month of Ramadan which was broadcast live on radio and television channels….
The Supreme Leader went on to say that “if we treat those we oppose in society the way the Qur’an teaches us to do, that is if we don’t treat them with injustice and they don’t treat us with injustice either, you’ll see how the society will improve and how good it will be”.
“I congratulate every one of you and all our Muslim brothers and sisters throughout the world on the commencement of the blessed month of Ramadan. We pray God will grant us the ability to get the most out of this month,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
He said that the Holy Qur’an is the book of life, adding that if human beings adjust their rules for living based on the Qur’an, they will gain the bliss of this world and the next.
The Supreme Leader pointed out that Mankind’s problem lies in ignoring the Qur’an, like a patient who gets a doctor’s prescription but does not act upon it.
“The Qur’an is a book of science and knowledge, and it also includes practical instructions for life. That is, it builds the environment we live in. It shows mankind the ways to achieving wellbeing, security, and comfort in life,” he added.
He noted that the Qur’an says, “And do not follow what you have no knowledge of.
“But, the journalism prevalent in the world acts exactly the opposite and spreads rumors and falsehoods without verification. If we act upon this one guideline, a major part of our problems will be solved,” the Supreme Leader added….
“The Qur’an says, “Do not incline toward those who oppress others.”
“Some Muslim states and Islamic groups trust the most oppressive and tyrannical entities in the world, and they’re witnessing the results,” the Supreme Leader added.
“The Qur’an says to rely on God and stand against enemies. Satan scares people of enemies. Throughout history, people who feared enemies were afflicted with bitter, hard trials in life. Today, Islamic powers fear the oppressive powers and ignore their own power, causing their degradation.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Holy Qur’an says, “Do not fear them, and fear Me.”…

Let’s look at this list from Khameini, shall we?
OPPRESSION: Caliph Omar Khatab said that any conquered kafir who refuses to convert to Islam “must pay the jizya out of humiliation and lowliness. If they refuse this, it is the sword without leniency.”
DISCRIMINATION: in Saudi Arabia, if a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the latter has to pay blood money or compensation, as follows: 100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man; 50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman; 50,000 riyals if a Christian man; 25,000 riyals if a Christian woman; 6,666 riyals if a Hindu man; 3,333 riyals if a Hindu woman.
WAR: Dr. Abdullah Azzaam: Offensive Jihaad (where the enemy is attacked in his own territory). Where the Kuffar are not gathering to fight the Muslims. It is a duty of upon the Imam to assemble and send out an army unit into the land of war once or twice every year.
INSECURITY: Millions of Muslims are leaving Islamic countries every year because of instability and insecurity.
SUPPRESSION OF VALUES: Mullah ‘Sufi Muhammad’ said: “True Islam permits neither elections, nor democracy.”
Is Khameini kidding anyone but himself?
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, Khameini forgot to mention RIPPING OFF BILLIONS OF THE PEOPLE’S MONEY and hiding it around the world as he and his family have been doing for 40 years.
Islam primarily promotes dictators like Khameini.

Ass-backward thinking on display again by a Buttlim. Koranic directives GUARANTEE “oppression, discrimination, wars, insecurity, and the suppression of values.” Call it projection if you like.
Why is this putrid religion still around at all? This is the ultimate wonder ASSUMING common sense, basic decency, overall moral intelligence and accurate general knowledge are at hand. Oh, such characteristics are not at hand—not for a ton of Buttlims and a ton of woefully ignorant dhimmis.
Well, this explains things, now doesn’t it?
Aussie Infidel says
Wellington, You answered your own question very well.
“Why is this putrid religion still around at all?” > “A ton of woefully ignorant dhimmis”!
Most Western politicians know nothing about Islam – and worst of all, they don’t want to know. All they are interested in is appealing to a wider voter base – and that includes Muslims – to get themselves re-elected. This is why minor political parties keeping arising to oppose the dhimwits in power who do nothing about Islam. But in many cases, their aspirations are crushed by the electoral system, which is often ‘First past the post’ which favours the major parties.
mortimer says
Good question: “Why is Islam still around at all?” It’s because they have oil. Islam was dying before the British navy switched from coal to oil. It would be dead by now if Arab countries had had no oil.
When automobiles and trucks became the common means of transportation, the Muslim countries had cash to buy the rope to hang us.
Billionaires, bankers and bought-out, sold-out politicians are telling us that Islam is benign so the supply of oil doesn’t dry up.
By switching from oil to some other form of fuel, we can free ourselves from this monstrous 7th-century stupidity.
Terry Gain says
Wellington
One of the reason this putrid religion, as you call it, is still around is that there are not enough of us who understand that it is not a religion. Your view that Islam is a religion no doubt carries the day in the faculty lounge but it has no strategic value. It is in fact inImical to our survival. Short of war, the only thing which will save us from Islam is a full frontal intellectual attack on Islam’s pretensions to be a religion. Islam is the polar opposite of Christianity, the religion upon which western civilization was founded.
In his review of Rebecca Bynum’s book Allah Is Dead: Why Islam Is Not A Religion —Richard L. Rubenstein, Lawton Distinguished Professor of Religion Emeritus, Distinguished Research Professor of Religion, University of Bridgeport and author of After Auschwitz – stated the following.
“Rebecca Bynum is one of the few religious thinkers raising what is undoubtedly one of the most important, perhaps the most important question, of our time: Can the United States survive if its First Amendment liberties continue to shield an Islam whose objective is to become religiously and politically dominant in every sphere of human endeavor. Unlike too many of our political leaders, Ms. Bynum is widely read and sophisticated about both Islam and Christianity. She understands that Islam is a complex phenomenon that is too different from other religions to be simplistically classified. Islam requires, she argues, a category of its own that excludes First Amendment protection when it seeks a privileged place in the American religious landscape. If we continue on our present path, America as we know it will not long survive. It will go the way of countless other societies whose civilizations have succumbed to Islam”
Wellington says
Well, Terry, two options here.
First let’s assume Islam is not a religion—your point of view. It would still be a protected belief system just as Nazism, Marxism and anarchism are. So then what? What’s next if your take on Islam prevails?
Second, I am ready to concede for argument’s sake your view that Islam is not a religion and go from there (though I think the likelihood of this occurring extremely unlikely and you don’t seem to grasp that a religion need not be good), but what about looking at things from my point of view, which is that Islam is a religion all right but an evil religion. Now, just for argument’s sake, what if my view prevailed, which I think far more likely (though still an uphill struggle to achieve to put it mildly), with almost everyone looking at Islam as a religion but a horrible religion. Don’t you think this in and of itself would result in a sea change respecting statutory law, constitutional law, immigration, acceptance, approbation, construction of mosques in the West, etc.?
Your turn.
Giacomo Latta says
Who gives a rat’s ass about whether you or anyone else, including me, thinks that Islam is a religion! What is crucial is that those administering justice as per democratic norms read the statutes that include the word ”religion” and use the definition that would have existed in the heads of legislators of the era when the legislation was enacted. If we don’t then we use the definition used by a bunch of fascist thugs with a master so-called religion because they, their acolytes and the non-thinking have used such a word very, very loosely.
As someone who was alive during most of these occasions of legislation, I can assure you that a religion was not an organized bunch of murderous thugs, even if I and my fellow citizens had heard the word ”Islam” bandied about from time to time.
Islam is no more a religion that the Hell’s Angels, any neo-Nazi outfit you can name or not nor any mafia.
Terry Gain says
Wellington
You got off to a good start, but once again fell into error. It’s most unfortunate that you can’t argue with me without resorting to “you don’t seem to grasp”. Ironically you yourself clearly don’t grasp that most people, unlike you, think of religion as something which is benign. So by referring to Islam as a religion (even an evil one) you are likely to accomplish 3 things, Firstly you elevate Islam to a status it does not deserve. We should be encouraging everyone, including Muslims to question whether the ludicrous beliefs of Islam are compatible with an actual religion. Secondly, you turn off the very people – people who value religion – who are necessary to lead the fight against what is clearly a supremacist, totalitarian, conquest ideology. Thirdly, you put your faith in atheists, the very people who are the biggest supporters of Islam as they see it as a means to attack Christianity.
Your strategy of defining Islam as an evil religion is bound to fail. It will only appeal to atheists and, as is obvious, atheist opinion-makers, in general, are aligned with Islam. My strategy will at least provoke discussion and examination by people who, unlike you, are not opposed to religion. We are the vast majority.
I had not heard of Rebecca Bynum until yesterday. (She iis an advisor to President Trump). I am delighted to see that someone as educated as her has put the argument so much better than I can. I therefore have liberally pasted excerpts form the lecture she gave in October 2011 and I have posted links to that lecture and her book at the bottom of this comment/
……….
“Religion in its broadest sense must be about the pursuit of higher value – of Truth Beauty and Goodness. As we learned in philosophy class, the thinking used to be that these values stand apart from the world and evaluate the world. Truth is the measure of man, man is not the measure of truth. That is the essence of religious thought. And the interesting thing is that when we pursue value, as all true religions encourage, we incorporate those values into our selves – as we pursue goodness, we become good, as we pursue truth we reflect truth in ourselves and we appreciate the beauty of God’s creation more and more – this is commonly called spiritual growth. All religion as we have known it facilitates this process – its goal is to lead men to God and lead them to experience God’s love.
……….
Islam on the other hand, subordinates everything to itself. Islam is the highest value and the spiritual values we just mentioned are thought to be entirely contained within Islam, even to be entirely contained within the Koran. Which is why after a rumor about Korans being flushed down the toilet at Guantanamo was started by Newsweek in May 2005, scores were killed and hundreds injured in rioting all over the Muslim world. Lives were sacrificed over paper and ink. We saw the same pattern play out with the Muhammad cartoons over a supposed religious principle which concerns only the material world.
There is no higher truth than Islam, no higher good than Islam and nothing more beautiful than Islam. Islam has replaced God, you see, and its ultimate goal is not to lead men to seek those higher values. Islam exists simply to perpetuate itself.
……………..
This concept is also a major stumbling block to democracy because to obey man’s law in Islamic thought is equivalent to the worship of man. Now, while I would agree that the worship of man is broadly a characteristic of the modern world, especially if we look at the rise of science and its promise of omniscience and even omnipotence – that all things can be known and done through the agency of science. I vehemently disagree that the Islamic total belief system and total regulation of life is the answer to anything. It is certainly not a way to grow closer to God. It leads men away from God and focuses the mind on the material world alone from morning till night, day in and day out..
Islam is not the answer – Islam is the problem.
………
Now for those who still insist that Islam remain in the religion category, they will eventually have to concede that Islam is either a false religion or an evil religion because it leads men to evil action, even toward their own families. Of course there is no rule stating all religions must be good or lead to good actions.
Islam is false because it is built on the fundamental lie that Muhammad was a real prophet, rather than a man simply pretending to be a prophet in order to gain power over people. Of course one can make the same claim about Joseph Smith or L Ron Hubbard or any number of other founders of man-made religions which have been created from time to time throughout history. A religion which venerates an evil man and raises him to the level of the perfect model for human conduct, cannot help but lead men to evil action – even jihad.
……………..
Religion as we have known it has been good for society. It has nurtured morality, strengthened the family, fostered public service and encouraged social harmony. Islam, on the other hand, is self-segregating and fosters ideas of Muslim supremacy and thereby sows seeds of social discord. Even its tradition of charitable giving is solely for the benefit of fellow Muslims and it utterly destroys the nuclear family through its adoption of polygamy. Polygamous marriage is not marriage. It reduces women to the status of property. Even Mormon polygamy eventually does this.
…….
There are things that our society cannot tolerate and expect to survive. Justice must take its rightful place above tolerance.
So to reiterate – Islam is not a religion because:
1. It is an amalgam of social, political and judicial systems as well as a belief system. It is neither one thing nor the other – Islam is unique
2. Philosophically it is as far from other religions as it is possible to be. It lies beyond nihilism and its morality is inverted.
3. In society Islam functions in the opposite manner from all other religions. Rather than producing peace and social harmony, it sows violence and social disruption.
……………………….
Therefore, I believe it would be wise to reconsider Islam’s inclusion as a religion at least as far as the First Amendment is concerned. I understand the difficulties with this approach, and I know many have and will reject it, but I also think it is necessary to raise the question about what Islam really is and what it isn’t.
When you consider the effort that went into arguing whether Pluto should be considered a planet or not, or how a newly discovered insect should be classified, or what constitutes organic produce, I really don’t think the ability to classify belief systems is beyond us. At the very least we must call into question this Islam-is-a-religion trump card that its defenders have been playing so successfully. And I think it could help remove the confusion in our own ranks and allow Islam to be criticized in its entirety, not just as a political or judicial system.
We cannot fight a lie of this magnitude with half the truth.

PRCS says
What Islam teaches, from a religious point of view, is evil:
(profoundly immoral and wicked)
But, it’s not JUST a religion:
(the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods).
Too many of our friends and neighbors have accepted the carefully crafted notion that it’s nothing more than a religion; a benign religion, practiced by a billion+, peaceful Muslims around the world. Mostly poor, brown people, we’re told.
But, it’s more than that, of course. It’s ‘a complete way of life” (toilet etiquette included). A theocracy; a system of governance in which religion and law are one and the same.
What excuses, what reasons would Social Justice Warriors cite for their continued support of if they understood Islam’s true teachings, religious governance, and its ultimate goal?
Wellington says
Giacomo Latta: Historically and legally Islam has been treated as a religion from its inception but was looked upon by non-Muslims (e.g., Christians) as a religion inspired from Hell. For centuries the West fought the advance of Islam not on the basis that it was not a religion at all but that it was an evil religion.
And good luck convincing judges and lawyers that Islam is not a religion. This is where you should “give a rat’s ass.”
Wellington says
Terry Gain: Thanks for your reply. Well, as I just wrote to Giacomo Latta, for centuries Christians (and others) fought Islam’s advances not on the basis that it was not a religion but that it was an evil religion. Essentially, Islam is Satanism on steroids. And Satanism is also a religion, now isn’t? Just because there are few Satanists and huge numbers of Muslims doesn’t alter the religious characterization.
If Islam is not a religion, as you claim (and I would note here again that I don’t know of a single American federal judge who would deny Islam religious status, do you?), then you must also conclude that Satanism is not a religion, that the Aztec religion was not a religion (had human sacrifice and its priests wore capes made out of human skin), that the Carthaginian religion was not a religion (also had human sacrifice which appalled the Romans), etc. Assuming a religion must be benign is just that—an assumption and nothing more and the law demands more than just an assumption held by most people, if indeed most people, as you claim, think a religion must be benign, this itself being an assumption.
BTW, was the ancient Egyptian religion a religion? It wasn’t evil like Islam but it was way different from Christianity. Is Hinduism a religion? And so on. And who is to decide what is a religion and what is not?
And consider this: Whether your approach or my approach were adopted, i.e., Islam is not a religion versus Islam is an evil religion, wouldn’t the results be approximately the same with the way Muslims would be looked upon and with all kinds of safeguards put in place to deal with this iniquitous belief system?
Wellington says
PRCS: I agree with you that Islam is not just a religion but also a complete way of life and a totalitarian ideology (as Bertrand Russel noted a century ago). But of course this alone does not take away its religious status for First Amendment purposes and that has been my point all along. I believe we are in agreement here and thanks for your reply.
PRCS says
Wellington,
Per my 10:11 am post:
Yes, Islam meets the First Amendment definition of *religion*:
(the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods).
I don’t disagree with that.
The issue, as I see it, is the failure, the refusal of Western politicians, journalists, our neighbors and friends, ‘the man on the street” to realize, to recognize that it’s not just another religion (albeit one you and I know is evil) but a theocratic system of governance which commands Muslims–everywhere, Minneapoils included–to impose religious rule upon the rest of us.
I contacted Senator Feinstein 14 years ago about the special respect and treatment protocols U.S. military personnel had to comply while handling Guantanamo jihadist’s taxpayer provided Qur’an’s addressed in Dianna West’s Gonzo Gitmo Charade article (https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2005/jun/9/20050609-092940-3178r/
Her boilerplate response:
Thank you for writing to express your concerns about Islamist
extremism. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue and
welcome the opportunity to respond.
Like you, I am very concerned about the rise of an extremist,
violent strand within Islam in recent decades. This minority group seeks
to threaten not only the West and its values, but also to subjugate the
peaceful Muslim majority to a radical interpretation of Islamic teachings.
I believe that the United States must do everything in its power to fight
Islamist terrorists, while working to improve its image in the Muslim
world and facilitating the empowerment of moderate Muslims
worldwide.
While I am concerned about the activities of religious extremists
in the United States and support law enforcement measures against them,
I believe that we must never label an entire group of peaceful and loyal
citizens because of the activities of a very small minority. The United
States prides itself on its diversity and tolerance, and I think that we must
engage in inter-religious dialogue to increase understanding and
cooperation among various communities in the United States.

James Lincoln says
Terry Gain / Wellington,
I know that the the discussions regarding the classification of islam as a religion / or not a religion can get very contentious. There are excellent arguments on both sides. You are both highly intelligent fine gentlemen who have different takes on this.
For me personally, I try to look at the facts as they currently present themselves. As new facts become available, I always reconsider my opinion.
For what it’s worth, the IRS currently is granting mosques a type of “church, religious organization ” classification for federal tax purposes. In other words, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Whether or not that is a correct classification, is open to discussion.
From the IRS website, excerpt noted below, it appears to me that islam / mosques contain enough “religious elements” to qualify as a religion. This is unfortunate. Since islam is a pure evil religion / political ideology, I obviously wish that were not the case – as it would give anti-jihadists a major tool in their toolbox to shut these mosques down.
A Supreme Court ruling would be helpful.
From the IRS:
“Certain characteristics are generally attributed to churches. These attributes of a church have been developed by the IRS and by court decisions. They include:
• Distinct legal existence
• Recognized creed and form of worship
• Definite and distinct ecclesiastical government
• Formal code of doctrine and discipline
• Distinct religious history
• Membership not associated with any other church or denomination
• Organization of ordained ministers
• Ordained ministers selected after completing prescribed courses of study
• Literature of its own
• Established places of worship
• Regular congregations
• Regular religious services
• Sunday schools for the religious instruction of the young
• Schools for the preparation of its members
The IRS generally uses a combination of these characteristics, together with other facts and circumstances, to determine whether an organization is considered a church for federal tax purposes.”
Terry Gain says
James Lincoln
Thank you for your kind words James. I certainly agree with you that Wellington is a gentleman. He is a highly educated man and I enjoy arguing with him. Someday, when this COVID-19 pandemic is over perhaps I can sit down and have a beer with Wellington and you. I would certainly enjoy that.
I think the that the court where this Islam issue must be fought is the court of public opinion and I think that the fight will be carried not by our elites in the United States or Canada but by ordinary citizens.
The goal Is to halt the advance of Islam. I don’t believe that that can be accomplished unless Muslim immigration is significantly reduced. I have no desire nor do I think it is wise or appropriate or justified to deny Muslims the opportunity to worship their fake god. Such efforts are likely to be counterproductive. In my opinion, if Muslim immigration is held in check then the advance of Islam can be arrested.
I believe the situation in Canada is much more dire than the United States. According to the CIA World Factbook, Muslims comprise 3.2% of Canada‘s population. Most people erroneously believe that Islam will not reach critical mass until it is a much higher percentage of the population. My view is that slam is already close to reaching critical mass in Canada because a solid voting block of 3% is sufficient to determine who governs Canada, the Canadian Conservative Party (CCP) or the Liberals. Under Justin Trudeau, the liberals are a post nationalist party which is run by people who think of themselves as global citizens rather than Canadians. They welcome islam.
Both Canada and the United States have wretchedly incompetent and biased media, however there is essentially no conservative media opposition in Canada. There is no Fox News. Almost all Canadian Media is suffering from Trump derangement. And most Canadians hate Trump, even conservative Canadians, and they think that he is a racist and fool. They have completely bought the CNN, New York Times and Washington Post depiction of Trump, which is parroted by all of Canada’s Media.
I can’t get people to even discuss how, if Trump is a racist how he managed to become successful in multi racial NYC and why aren’t there hundreds of anecdotes concerning his racism? The Charlottesville Lie is spread in Canada as if it was the gospel. Canadians don’t understand that orange man bad is all it separates us from the hell of globalism.
Canada failed to impose a travel ban of any kind until mid-March because our chief public officer of health looked to Communist China – dominated WHO for advice rather than looking to the United States and Commonwealth countries like Australia and New Zealand. She accepted WHO’s advice that the virus was not easily spread by human contact and she claimed that a travel ban was racist. Notwithstanding her gross negligence she still has her job and Trudeau‘s approval rating, rather than being in the toilet, is now in excess of 50% because he is doling out money to Canadians who are suffering economically as a result of the government impose lockdown – a lockdown necessitated by Trudeau’s gross negligence.
Canadians actually think that Canada has done a better job of containing the pandemic than the United States, even though we did not impose any kind of travel ban until mid-March, and even then we failed to properly screen and quarantine returning Canadians. Most Canadians don’t understand that the numbers are much worse in United States, even per capita, because the virus was clearly embedded in the United States when President Trump wisely imposed the travel ban on January 31. I have tried to explain to my fellow citizens that the situation in the United States is worse because of that fact and the fact that New York City is a tourist Mecca and the most dense city in North America.
I am having less success convincing my fellow Canadians of these truths than I am having convincing Wellington of the truth about Islam. No problem, at age 73 I am immune from attacks and I am a happy warrior.
James Lincoln says
Terry Gain,
Thank you for the reply.
Yes, a beer with both you and Wellington would be a dream come true!
I agree, ordinary citizens, both in the USA and Canada, are key in the fight against islam.
If the mainstream media accurately and truthfully reported about islam, muslim migration, etc., the fight would be much easier.
Throw in leftists/Marxists/globalists/political correctness/muslim brotherhood front organizations/“swamp” politicians/and we’re facing a pretty forceful headwind.
Halting any further muslim immigration is key. So is deporting any muslim who can be legally deported. Even with that, the muslim fertility rate is higher than the native population so the long-term demographics are not encouraging.
You are correct, a 3% muslim population in a country can cause huge problems – far greater than the percent would suggest, as you have outlined. They currently make up approximately 1.1% of the US population – and they are bringing huge problems.
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/01/03/new-estimates-show-u-s-muslim-population-continues-to-grow/
I believe that the reason for the success of Fox News in the United States is that the mainstream media has been so negligent for the past 20 or so years. They hide/obscure the truth by both commission and omission, and have really become a PAC for the Democratic Party.
I’m surprised that Fox News has not started a “Fox News Canada” for our northern neighbors. There’s got to be a reason for that. If it were possible, it would go a long way to help change the mindset of the average Canadian.
Native Canadians are great people. Most of my classmates that I grew up with came from French-Canadian families. They became some of my best friends.
Terry, you are a true patriot that I hold in high regard.
Best wishes.
Wellington says
Thanks for your detailed reply, James, and I thank Terry Gain for his thoughtful reply to you in his 11:33 A.M. post.
I would add only this: Assuming Islam loses its religious status (something I think highly unlikely), it would affect Islam tax wise but it would still be a protected belief system as is Marxism and Nazism, though I admit if Islam were denied religious status by the IRS this in and of itself would speak volumes and be replete with all kinds of implications.
One last thing: As I read the First Amendment respecting freedom of religion, I do not detect in this provision of the First Amendment that only if a religion is good is it protected, which is compounded by the difficulty of who is to determine if a religion is good or bad in the first place. I say again that IF ONLY Islam were widely looked upon as an EVIL RELIGION this would be enough to insure its containment and eventual marginalization and pariah status.

Agreed, Wellington.
FYI says
“the Quran is a book of science and knowledge”
Ah yes, the amazing Scientific miracles of the Quran..
“The hour drew nigh and the Moon was rent in twain”
koran 54:1
Sure allah:”let us know when the shuttle lands eh?”.
The Moon has never been split in half{in fact most likely we wouldn’t be here if it really occured}
We all know about allah’s claim that the sun sets in a muddy pool:that’s some pool.
{It is obvious the author of the Quran had no idea how big a star actually is}
The thing about the Quran is that muslims insist it is full of scientific miracles.
muhammed traveling to visit a mosque that didn’t exist in mo’s time{koran 17;1} is certainly a miracle as is buraq, his magical flying winged donkey with a woman’s face.
A miracle of aeronautics and aerodynamics.
The Science of the Quran:Stellar nucleosynthesis,Themodynamics,Relativistic mechanics,Metabolic pathways, the solution to the Riemann Hypothesis…OK OK none of those things are there but they coud be if we PRETEND they are, like the islamic “scholars” pretend that they are there and then fiddle the Arabic to fool you.
The Bible is not a scientific book{why would it be?}:The book of Genesis is not a Cosmology treatise. But The muslims claim there book IS a scientific reference.
For understanding science:that’s why we have STEM books….i don’t use a Bible for scientific answers{why would I or anybody?} but I definitely will NOT refer to the “perfect” Quran.
Wellington says
Fine post, FYI. Sadly though, some Christians do use the Bible for scientific answers, which Thomas Aquinas warned against doing as far back as the 13th century. This is why a minority of Christians still treat with Genesis, et al. literally and thus deny something as basic as evolution, for which the evidence is voluminous.
Ending on a positive note, clueless Christians who don’t grasp that often the Bible should be treated metaphorically will not kill anyone who avers otherwise. Contra followers of the worst major faith of all time.
You know, I don’t care if people believe nonsense, but I do care if the nonsense that some people believe will be, one way or another, forced upon me. Christians in our age are not guilty here but a shitload of Muslims most certainly are.

Yes I fully agree with you about clueless christians:it is really ,really silly to ignore or deny Scientific evidence from Geological prehistory etc
Part of the problem we have in the West is naive, foolish, clueless Christians who idiotically pander to islam:and it is in both the Catholic and protestant churches alas.

Indeed, FYI. Though an agnostic, I admire the Judeo-Christian ethic and I most certainly want informed, sophisticated and “muscular” Christians aplenty. Such folks make for great allies in the fight against the worst religion of all time.
Michael Copeland says
The distance from Medina to Jerusalem is 571 miles as the donkey flies.
If Mohammed’s journey took an hour each way, swift enough to permit him time to do all the things he said he did when he was there, then the winged donkey with the woman’s face and the peacock’s tail would have needed to fly at 571 mph, making breathing difficult for her passenger. We remember though, that Allah authorised him to lie in the cause of Islam, as instructed to his followers.
Giacomo Latta says
No physical book is a book of science. Science is an open book although lately many scientists have rejected the scientific method in favour of political demonstration, perhaps for the media endearment such prostitution brings. Perhaps, perhaps, the Bible was a scientific document at the time of writing of the final book but today it is no more scientific than the koran, which would be great fiction if it were written by Stephen King and not by some fraudster of the seventh century AD.
Lydia Church says
Time for the editing committee to get to work:
Qur’an offers “oppression, discrimination, wars, insecurity, and the suppression of values”
(needed to omit ‘solution to’ from above sentence)
Bible offers solution to: all of the above!
So there!

“Forced upon me…Christians in our age are not guilty here but a shitload of Muslims most certainly are.”
Christians–a little.
Muslims–yes a shitload. As they’re expected to.

The Qur’an offers nothing other than blood, sweat and tears without end. No where in it is there a “solution to oppression, discrimination, wars, insecurity, and the suppression of values”.
tim gallagher says
Every word this lying Muslim utters, the opposite is the truth. As far as non-Muslims are concerned oppression, discrimination, wars and insecurity is all that Islam offers. I suppose, though, that non-Muslims are invisible, they are to be treated as non-persons, so this disgusting, lying creature doesn’t even consider non-Muslims at all. These Muslim spokesmen truly do inhabit some other planet, where every word they speak is a lie and the complete opposite of whatever they say is bound to be the truth. islam, and the Koran, offer nothing but human misery and endless bloodshed.
Walter Sieruk says
How odd, since those words are spoken by a man,Khamenei, who is a leader of a religion of oppression, discrimination , war and totally void of solid firm basic sold values. What a terrible hypocrite this ayatollah cleric is !
Khamenei’s empty and false words are based on the Qur ‘an which is religious book that is full of instruction for oppression, discrimination ,war and completely empty decent values of any actual worth.
How extremely blind to the the truth as well as ignorant and hypocritical is Khamenei and the other Muslim clerics,They truly are, Likewise they both evil and absurd They are all very wicked.
OREN WYSOCKI says
Every identity group in the world offers the solution for oppression, discrimination, wars, insecurity, and the suppression of values. They all lie and grant themselves and their people all the rights and the majority of the resources, while denying others equal rights or equal opportunities.
A ridiculously censored world. In G-d I trust.
OLD GUY says
Now there is a total Islam LIE. Islam is the most oppressive dictatorship form of Political “religious” system in the world. Yes there is a mental health issue among the leadership of islamic muslims, Khamenei is a prime example of someone who is totally deranged. He stays in power only through intimation and violence, the pillars of islam and Muhammad.
