Kaslo Saturday Market Opens June 13th, 10am-2pm

We're gearing up to open this summer with a full slate of local farmers and food producers set to bring you the fresh produce and yummy market edibles you love. The BC government has declared farmer's markets an essential service. Shopping at the Kaslo Saturday Market is a great way for you to help keep our local food economy strong, something more important than ever in light of the current pandemic.

The market will be open with produce vendors, bakers, jams, canned goods, and locally grown mushrooms. Come out and help support our local food producers!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Our COVID-19 Safety Plan:

- The market will consist only of food vendors. No artisan vendors or music this year unfortunately!

- The market will limit the number of shoppers at any one time to ensure adequate social distancing within market.

- Entry to market will be limited to one spot, to control flow. Perimeter of market will be roped off.

- Clearly demarcated lines for waiting will be provided outside and inside the market.

- Hand washing and hand-sanitizing stations will be provided.

- No food samples will be served by vendors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Kaslo Saturday Market communicates with other markets across BC to plan for a safe season, while still providing opportunities for community members to come together and access local food. While we aren't allowed to have some of our usual community activities like live music or Art in the Market, we do encourage everyone to come down and shop for food. See you on June 13th at Front Street Park in downtown Kaslo!

Edible Garden Tour Cancelled

Backyard Food Production Tutorials to Replace Event

Due to the current pandemic we have cancelled our annual North Kootenay Lake Edible Garden Tour for 2020. This event usually showcases outstanding local gardens with a focus on food production. Instead we are planning to organize virtual Zoom sessions on edible garden themes, as an opportunity to learn and share about producing food in your back yard.
