Amazing love story...

Amazing love story...
This review is for all 5 books. 4 stars across the board…except for “A Love Song For Dreamers” which I gave 5 stars! This series was amazing! The character development was extraordinary! Piper Lawson gave us a beautiful love story starting with the prequel Love Notes where Annie and Tyler are reintroduced to her reads again after being mentioned in the Wicked series. Rivals Series will Capture your Heart while taking you on Annie and Tyler Love journey. What I enjoyed the most was seeing Annie and Tyler mature throughout the series. We get to witness all there first… first kiss, first love, their first struggles with understand and dealing with what they’re feeling for one another, and as the series continues you get to see and feel every obstacles and emotions that Annie and Tyler go through with not only making there dreams come true, but how they react together every time they reconnected again. They have this unconditional love for each other, a Love that makes them feel as their souls are one. This series is full of angst, heartache, love and so much more. It’s hard not to fall in love with these two characters and not root for their HEA. I truly enjoyed every book in the Rivals series…,but I will have to say though, A Love Song For Dreamers was my favorite book, just because it was full of passion, forgiveness and had the most character development. I would definitely recommend reading the Rivals Series 💞

    A Love Song for Liars
    Rivals, Book 1
    By: Piper Lawson
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Rose Dioro

I am a huge fan of Piper Lawson’s Wicked series and was happy to see she was not completely done with that world and did not leave it completely behind spinning off with a story about Annie, Jax Jameson’s daughter and Tyler, the boy and gifted musician he took under his wing.Annie and Tyler were good friends at one time, but the popular crowd in school took him in with open arms and Annie wasn’t. Tyler was a senior and she a junior, but he stood by and watched her get bullied by the queen and her following in the school, and we see the claws come out whenever she feels threatened. I was happy to see Annie hold her own to these witches, I was also happy to see Tyler step up to do the right thing, which only lasted only a short time, and that ending, wow, it crushed not only Annie, it crushed me too. This wonderfully plotted story is a great start to the series, the story lays down the foundation for the rest of the series, we see who these two are as people and the promise of their future and who they will become. Piper Lawson, thank you for this amazing story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Dioro grasped all the sides of Annie’s personality, her strengths, insecurities, and her determination to not get knocked down. Hamilton played Tyler with perfection, grasping his angst and well as his soft-hearted side for the minute he showed it. Both were great at performing the roles of all the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These superbly talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers, their narration enhances this amazing story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Annie is in love with Tyler a boy who has an amazing talent and a difficult father. She has a father who didn't want her and wants to keep her out of the musical world. Can they find their way again to each other?

I'm picky with the books I read, or more correctly, I'm picky about the writing. An author can have great characters and a great story line, but if they don't know how to make it come alive with their words, then I pass on reading anymore of their books. With this author, I didn't have to choose. Her writing is beautiful, intelligent, and well done. I enjoyed this story deeply. The dialogue was on par, making the characters feel real. It was an enjoyable read and I'm onto the next one. Thank you, Piper!

"A Love Song for Liars" was one of those unputdownable books for me. The sexual tension was off the charts, and the push-and-pull dynamic felt so relatable. A promise is a promise, and Tyler wasn't going anywhere near Jax's daughter—until he just couldn't stay away. I initially grabbed this book as a freebie, but before writing this review, I purchased the second book, which is a first for me. That speaks volumes about Piper Lawson's writing voice because I'm hooked. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm diving into the next book.

I see in the reviews that there is some confusion with this book. Maybe the 18 up recommendation on the kindle page and some with the way Annie's parents act. So I thought I would start by trying to assist with the parental issue.

To begin to understand Jax Jamieson 's dynamic with any of these characters you need to start off with The Wicked Series. Good Girl is book one and covers how A college student (Haley) meets a rock God (Jax) . It is an adult slow burn read. Annie has a small cameo as a 10 year old in 1 and continues throughout. Tyler Adams makes small appearances in books 3 and 4. A Love Song For Liars picks up from Wicked Forever which ended the summer before with Annie being 15 and Tyler 17. If your unsure if want to go back. I start with a cliff note description.

!!!SPOILER ALERT DON'T READ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE WICKED SERIES!!!

Haley is now a new mom both to a biological child and to a 16 year old stepchild. However she was once a young adult whose mom was killed in a car accident going home from seeing Jax Jamieson and Riot Act in concert with Haley. Listening to his voice his music and writing music focused computer code became everything It got her through that horrible time. She didn't have a dad in her life and actually meets him (Shannon Cross Wicked Records Founder) after meeting Jax. She sees Jax as someone as a good dad even though she knows only what Jax wants her to know of Annie's life while he touring because her own was disinterested in her. She has hidden her Dad's secret from Jax. He was the child Shannon Cross wanted she was the one he got. When the opportunity to spend with her was available, recording Jax was the choice he chose.) Where as Jax walked away from his career for custody Annie Jax and his sister Grace didn't have great role models either. She was Annie's "Mom" for her first ten years as set up by Shannon Cross. All he has emulate is his mentor Shannon Cross the record executive who help mold his career yet he hates him or an abusive figure to him and his mother while trying to shield Grace who repeats the cycle. He attempted to save Annie by getting custody full time.

    !!!!END OF SPOILER ALERT!!!

Annie being 16 and Tyler being 18 both still in high school makes this book a young adult read. So that took some adjusting to coming from the other series where 3 of the books are very adult. The switch from main characters becoming co-star roles and The hero becoming the antagonistic character isn't something I have seen a author choose to do before.

I was soon caught up in the storyline feeling badly for Annie because her first 10 years she had two uncles one that was amazing and the other nothing to write home about Then her life gets turned 180 degrees with one conversation.

Annie is desperately trying to adjust to being a average girl to mega-celebrity offspring in this book she has very little help or support with the exception of Tyler Adams who has his own issue and a secret to why he's acting the way he's been acting. That he doesn't dare tell her. The retribution for him will be two fold and he's worried about where the truth would leave Annie.

This book is funny , aggregating , sweet and will really make you wish for somebody to deflate Annie's father's enormous ego. So the girl can find something besides drinking at parties with other rich kids. These kids are juvenile but cut-throat.

Annie and Tyler are compelling characters when they are being themselves with each other but everyone seems to be against them with the exception of Haley who cares about them both. Hopefully since there's 3 more books all the interference falls away and they find what truly makes their lives worth living.

8\24Update : Book 4 is so bad in my opinion that I decided to mention that I no longer read books by this author as I don't support abuse physical mental or emotional. Even if it's just fictional.

Just finished this book and what can I say!!! Piper Lawson does it again. Another book that’s left me dying to read the next one which is now on preorder awaiting the release. Having read Jax and Haley’s story I just had to find out what happens with Annie and Tyler. Great storyline which left me loving the characters even more. Not going to give anything away but if you’re a fan of young love and all the trials and tribulations that come with it then this book may well be for you.

I really loved Annie and her strong character! She is such a positive person and sometimes I just wanted to be like her!
Loved the story, it was an emotional rollercoaster.
I disagreed with everything Tyler did and how he solved his problems.
Usually in books I prefer main male character over female ones, but this time it just wasn’t the case!
    Thank you!
