This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters were fun and just loveable. It was a great read for in between. Also perfect for times like these since you get a feeling of warmth and that you‘re at the beach which everyone needs at the moment.

The story was good and overall just a feel good read with a little drama and a few small problems.

Caught Inside was a beautiful, angsty, slow-burn romance between two people that have an instant connection but has no clue how to deal with those feelings. Easton and Tanner take the week they are given to fall in love and then let it go because Easton lives in California, and Tanner lives in Canada. Long-distance is not something they want to try, so they hold on to the memories of their week. However, what happens when the situation changes, and old feelings are reignited? I enjoyed this story and wanted more of Tanner and Easton!

Caught Inside is about an insecure California girl named Easton who freely sleeps with anything male until she meets Tanner a college student on vacation from Canada. One wild week leaves them wishing for more but knowing that it can never be. When Tanner shows up two years later, Easton is thrown for a loop. Can true love conquer all? Will they ever know the depths of a real relationship? I loved the cover of this book. It is gorgeous. And I have liked a few other Leigh books. Unfortunately, this one fell short for me. There were brief glimpses of the possibility of there being a deep relationship, but the frivolous sex robbed the story of that possibility. I had a difficult time liking Easton the heroine. Her hard exterior rarely softened. Tanner the hero seemed much more genuine and relatable. Overall, just not my cup of tea.

Y’all, this book is my favorite by Kristie so far! It was funny, romantic, sexy–and cute as hell! The push and pull between Easton and Tanner was perfection; and each chapter will leave you wanting to read the next! Do yourself a favor and add it to your TBR!

This book was all kinds of cute, it gave me tingles from how perfect Easton and Tanner were for each other.

Easton has lived in this small town in California all her life. She doesn't see herself going anywhere but where she is. She loves her life, her friends and her jobs. She couldn't ask for a better life than what she has. She doesn't do relationships, she doesn't want to get caught up having feelings for anyone. She's too afraid to ever get hurt and she'd rather avoid that all cost.

Tanner is from Canada, he went with his buddies to California for a week break from college. The last thing he thought would happen was get caught up with getting feelings for someone he was never going to see again.

Tanner is the perfect specimen of a man. He is the total package that a woman would love to have in a man. Can't say much more than that because he's basically perfect!

Tanner and Easton hit it off from the get go. Easton is all gong-ho in having a one night stand with Tanner and move on, but little does she know that that's far from what Tanner is thinking. He wants to spend the whole week with her. Easton and Tanner form a bond and their chemistry is too strong. The last thing Easton wants is to get caught up on Tanner but the heart wants what the heart wants. It was very hard for both of them to say good-bye when Tanner had to return to Canada. Neither of them ever thought that they would see each other and they had this beautiful memory to live by.

Two years later, Tanner gets an offer he can't refuse and he moves to California and he's excited and eager to see Easton again. The question is, is Easton ready for Tanner??

This was a very cute story that had me invested. I sat and read it and just couldn't unglue myself from my device.

Easton and Tanner were everything you look for in a book!

Tanner and Easton's story hooked me from just reading the blurb. I have to admit, being a Canadian who, in her (much)younger days, met a guy in California and had a fling with him that remains a fond memory, this story was pretty much destined to suck me in.

In Caught Inside, it's the guy who is visiting California from Canada instead of the girl. Tanner is a student from Ontario and visits the small town of Pahokee, California during Reading Week (which made me laugh, because Reading Week is TOTALLY a thing at Canadian universities, but Americans have never heard of it.) Easton had no clue what he was talking about when he mentioned it. Basically it's a week off from college sometime around February.

Tanner and his buddies meet Easton and her friends on their first night in California, and the connection between them is intense from the start. Easton, being completely relationship-averse, initially wants to pull her usual "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am - er sir" routine. He surprises her by not pushing to sleep with her on the first night even though they end up alone in his hotel room.

At the end of their week together, they have fallen firmly in love - but neither one will say it. Easton is so devastated when he leaves, and so shocked at her own devastation, that she cuts off all contact with Tanner. He can't even call or text her to keep in touch. She just assumes she will never see him again.

Until 2 years later when he walks into the shop where she works and announces that he just moved to town.

Tanner doesn't have any expectations that they will be able to pick up where they left off, but he does have hope. Easton is initially terrified to open herself up to a possible relationship, but Tanner is impossible to resist. She gets some good advice from her loveable boss, Joe, who convinces her to be brave and take a risk. He knows she's strong enough to handle whatever comes - even if things don't work out.

Tanner is so patient with Easton, and so sweet and kind that I just fell in love completely. Towards the end it's Easton that surprises Tanner with a leap of faith into their future, which I loved. Caught Inside is a lovely story to escape into - I absolutely recommend it!

Kristie Leigh is a storyteller!

Not only did I fall in love with this stunning cover for Caught Inside, but I also fell in love with the words that make up Easton and Tanner's story. Easton is full of sass and determination. Simply put, she's not budging when it comes to falling in love. Even when it's someone like Tanner. The two of them hit it off, despite her carefree lifestyle, but no matter how hard Tanner tries to win her over, Easton is about as stubborn as they come. And despite their few years age difference, Easton knows that Tanner must return to school in Canada when their week together is over. So why let the heart get involved, right? I love a strong heroine that is hell-bent on what she wants and Leigh did that with Easton.

This is such a sweet story with a captivating storyline that I simply couldn't put down. For sure, it was more than just your typical beach read! Leigh's writing will embrace you something fierce and you'll find yourself pulling for Easton and Tanner to find their happily ever after. Great read with lots of emotions! Five stars from beginning to end!

Caught Inside is a story about a girl who doesn't believe on love. Then this Canadian boy comes to visit her home town and turns her world upside down.

One of the things I like the most about this story is that Tanner is the strong one. He doesn't shy away and aren't afraid to show Easton his true feelings (and yes, I had to google Easten hockey)
In many stories it usually is the other way around, that the boy is the one to shy away from love and commitment.

OH to be at the beach with the warm breezes, crashing waves, and love blooming. That is what you feel as you read this book, like you are right there on the beach with these characters. I love how they are experiencing feelings and emotions that they know are short lived, only to be given that second chance to make it right, and boy do they. Brings me back to my youth when I lived at the shore.

Easton is a low key, pink haired surfer with a easy going outlook. Working at bar and the surf shop the girl has it made. Until Tanner walks into charity event and everything changes. Tanner is this gorgeous, sensitive, sexy man. He flips her world inside out. One week is all they have or is it? This book is a story of finding love and taking chances and being scared of it all. This is Kristie’s best work so far!!! My favorite of hers so far!!!

Kristie Leigh is a new to me author. This was a great first book to jump into though.
The cover really caught my attention first - it’s gorgeous. The write up/summary on the book hooked me though.

Caught Inside is a story of a hard shelled girl who doesn’t let anyone in, who is emotionally knocked off her axis by a Canadian boy vacationing in her town. It sweeps you into a quick burn, quick feeling relationship...slows you down...and then saves you in the end. A love conquers all plot.

Easton is our pink haired hard as nails surfer chick heroine. Tanner is our laid back male lead with a heart of gold.

Our story is set in small town, coastal California. Tanner is visiting Easton’s small hometown during the Canadian version of spring break. (Reading Week). The connection between our two characters is instant and grows stronger the longer the week wears on. Tanner starts to chip away at Easton’s walls the more time he spends with her. Easton struggles with having strong feelings for another person when she’s worked hard to close that part of herself off for years. Easton doesn’t let people in.

The push and pull of their week long relationship is intense...and then Tanner has to leave.

Two years, and no communication between our lovers later; Tanner reappears in Easton’s life. He’s graduated college and starts a job with a company near her town. Tanner admits that being able to come back to Easton plays a huge role in his career decision.

The author then takes us through the second part of the pair’s relationship. Easton cut off communication with Tanner, but he still has strong feelings for her. Tanner struggles with rebuilding trust and openness with Easton while she struggles with how to express and accept her feelings.

Overall this was a well written book and a great read. The characters stayed true to themselves for the length of the novel, and banter between characters was engaging and fun. Nothing lagged.

There are a few things that I would like to see tweaked, but they aren’t show stoppers for me. Honestly they probably would make the book itself into a duet - which have read well.

The main issues I had came in the second half of the book, once Tanner returns.

Tanner and Easton caught fire quickly in the first half. They worked things through and really opened up to one another. The relationship moved at a decent pace and was interacting.

In the back end of novel, their relationship seems choppier. It’s as if they’ve taken huge steps backwards. Every possible emotional hurtle seems to throw Easton into a tail spin and leaves Tanner hanging.

I can understand some of this, as time has passed and both have grown, but it just all felt rushed and packed in. I would have liked the issues, relationship regrowth and growing to be worked out a bit more.

Additionally the author throws in a bit too many major life changes in for our characters. These detracted from the earlier story telling, but didn’t detract from the characters themselves - they remained true to form. I think these same events could have been explored a little bit more and been worked into the plot smoothly.

The one thing that did begin to bother me, and I don’t usually touch on this, was the sex scenes.

During the first half of the novel, the sexual relationship between Easton and Tanner seems natural. In the second half, sex seems to used as a way for Easton to get past her reservations or her fears. This does fit her character type, but I began to feel like every little thing was solved magically by sex. The characters never actually resolve their issues, it’s just bed and on to the next like nothing was wrong.

Easton and Tanner are supported by a great cast of characters. Easton in particular has a crew of her “girls” and two brothers that she is close with. These five characters remain integral to the story through out and stand on their own. I’d like to see them in future stories. Tanner originally came to California with his two best friends. The descriptions and interactions the guys have is somewhat superficial. They don’t really evolve into Tanner’s story and one seems to just be “that jerk”. I think this is another area where the author could have fleshed them out a bit more, but it would have added to the length of the novel.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I will be looking into other books that this author has published. I’d really love to see Easton’s “girls” have their own stories so we can see Easton and Tanner again.

I would recommend this as a great summer read. Go into it with the mindset that this is a love conquers all story. Even for hard shelled, kick assed, pink haired surfer chicks.

Caught Inside by Kristie Leigh is the quintessential summer, beach romance with a twist of sass.
Easton is a 19 year old pink haired surfer girl who is living her best life in Pahookie, California.
She works at the Boathouse – a surf shop and Barangas – a local bar. All of this gives her plenty of time to enjoy surfing, partying, friends and the beach life.
She has never had a boyfriend, a date or any of that other nonsense that has to do with men. She lives life by her rules. She has no time for anything that
involves emotions. The trauma of her father dying and her mother’s methods of dealing with the loss with multiple partners has left her jaded and afraid of
opening herself up to anyone. She has no problem with one night stands, but there is no sleepovers, no emotions, no connections or commitments.
That is exactly the way she likes it and the way she lives her life.
That is until the luck of a dart throw lands Tanner Fields right into her universe. Tanner is a college student from Canada, in town with his friends, for a week to
enjoy the beach and party all the stress of school away. But a charity event at Barangas brings him face to face with Easton. Tanner had never met a woman so
straight forward in what she wanted. Not only was she drop dead beautiful and straightforward, she made Tanner feel things he has never felt before.
From the moment he met her – he just knew. Easton’s plans for Tanner start out as looking for a one night stand, but just spending
time with him changes her mind. She soon realizes that Tanner is not like her usual tourist of choice.

Easton has grown up in the same beach town she still resides. She has certain thoughts and feelings about relationships and how they are just not for her.
She resides with her two best friends Rhian and Sade. They live the typical beach life. Just young women out to have a good time while they can.
Easton’s best friends have never seen her just hang out with a guy before. Easton has her set of rules that she never waivers from. But with Tanner, her friends are
blown away by how Tanner and Easton have taken to each other. But what happens when Tanner has to leave?

Tanner is on vacation and he is determined to spend as much time as he can with Easton while he can. He doesn’t care what they do as long as he is with her.
He learns that Easton doesn’t do relationships but he convinces her that they can have an amazing time and go back to their lives, and just enjoy the moment.
But as the week goes on – they both realize how hard it is going to be to leave each other. But they know they have to.

When Easton takes Tanner to the airport for his return home, once he boards the plane she leaves a voicemail telling him that for her own peace of mind and sanity – she can
never hear from him again and she must go forward with her life. Devastating Tanner in the process. But two years later Tanner has a job offer in the same town where Easton lives and
things are about to get quite interesting!

I found this book was a wonderful quick beachy read. Made me miss being at the beach and wanting to go there! This book is all about young love, romance, the sometimes issue of sabotaging your
own happiness despite the fact that you want everything that lays before you. Wonderful young, vibrant read that I recommend to anyone looking for some fun in the sun.

🌊 I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review 🌊

This was the first book I have read from this author and I am so glad that I did, i will definitely be adding her to my list of authors i love.

This book was set in a little town in California and is the perfect setting for a great summer read. This book was such an easy read and was full of fun, witty humour, charm, love, sexy, cute and of course romantic, with some great sex scenes thrown in to the mix.
The chemistry between Easton and Tanner was incredible,  you just really got it! You just were pulling for them to get together.
This book started as a holiday fling, one that made both of them feel things they have never felt. Especially the feisty Easton! That girl is a no strings queen, how dare Tanner make her feel these foreign feelings!! Luckily though it was only for a week and then life could get back to normal!! Or could it?

Fast forward 2 years later and squeeze in a whole lot of heart break and here Tanner is making her feel everything again. She certainly put up a fight and was determined not to fall in love, ah well it happens to the best of us 🥰

I really enjoyed seeing Easton get out her comfort zone and try go with her heart. I loved the influence Joe had on her and love that he gave it to her straight and told her to get out of her head.
I loved the ending of this book immensely and loved their HEA. ❤

This book was a little bit of my taste and little not. I loved the blurb and the story line. Two week romance turns into an opportunity for more. However the actions of our leading lady weren't to my taste. She is very mature for 18 in the look back at how they met. Then when they meet again, two years later her mouth is horrible. I do not really enjoy women who call each other vulgar names and look at it as a term of endearment. It sounds horrible. It almost made me think she was written by a man's point of view then by a woman. Do women really talk to each other this way? If so you couldn't be my friend. I wouldn't put up with the terms of 'b*tch, wh*re, or sl*t,' with laughter and love.

Other than ignoring the fact that this girls showed no respect for each other it was a good book. I liked the second chance they were given. I liked how much Tanner let his heart lead him, he always tried to make it better. Easton was hard and never really gave in to her feelings until she was put in a tight spot. It could have had more emotion and more feeling, the feelings while reading this were empty, I kept waiting for Easton to disappear again or get mad at Tanner for just being nice to her. She was a total b*tch every time someone had any interest in him however she could talk or be with whomever. It just didn't click with me.

Tanner. Can we get anymore cuter with this Canadian? I mean seriously I want to pack my bags and find this guy because he just made my heart pitter patter all over the place.

This was a sweet little past/ present instalove romance. While I'm not the biggest fan of instalove I found my drawn to the pair. I found myself loving Easton wit, personality and non traditional approach to a female lead. Meaning she didn't dress up, make up wasn't her thing and she was just so down to earth. It really was great to see a female lead portrayed as Strong and independent.

I wasn't 100% sold on the ending and I think that was more because I felt really invested in the character and I was sad to see it drawing to an end. I truly hope Leigh plans to turn this into a series because I'd love to follow the stories of the rest of the cast.

If I had to compare this to a book to anthers similarity wise I would say think Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster but add the beach and the and waves.

Seriously though this book and easily be picked up and swept away, especially for those who love the summer vibes.

She works in a surf shop - he's a college student. She doesn't do relationships. Good thing - he's Canadian, visiting California on school break, and going home in a week. Feelings develop that neither of them expect. When he goes home, two hearts are broken. Fast forward two years... He gets a job in California. He wants her back. And he's willing to wait until she's ready for him. This was a fun book to read - full of interesting characters. Easton and Tanner have a fun way about them, complete with witty banter. I think that she's a little too hard on him when he moves to CA, and her mixed signals are frustrating to him. I think that the ending was a bit rushed, but not a deal-breaker for me - I still loved the book. Easton's friends are fun and quirky, and I hope we get to see their stories soon.

Caught Inside was a fun, sexy read that took me away from my life for the length the book was. Kristie Leigh is a descriptive genius, as she transported me to a beach that was safe, unlike the ones in reality, and I cannot thank her enough for that. The push & pull was insane between Easton & Tanner in that hurts so good way, while keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting since they were perfect together from the jump. Then fate steps in to make my heart happy when Easton sees Tanner after 2 years since their first meet, so yeah, this was a delightful read with a serious topic or two thrown in. Now it's time for y'all to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

A new to me author to add to the list! I quite enjoyed reading Caught Inside and will be reading more work from Kristie Leigh again.

Tanner and Easton have this amazing connection that was lovely to read. Tanner seemed so emotionally mature and intelligent for his age, which is not always the case. Easton never spoke about her past and this has left her with so many fears.

The relationship they developed in the begging, along with the second chance to try again was beautifully written!

I hope the supporting cast also get their own stories...hint hint!!

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Funny, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, Wonderful characters

Caught Inside is the perfect summer romance read. Easton is a California girl through and through. Tanner is a somewhat shy Canadian on Spring Break with friends. These two cross paths and end up spending the week together. She introduces him to surfing while he introduces her to spending more than one night with the same person. Unfortunately, life must go on, which means Easton stays in Cali and Tanner returns to Canada.

What happens when you cannot forget such a memorable week? What happens when you leave your heart in a small coastal town? What happens when you are offered a job in said small coastal town? You must read this incredible book to find out if Easton and Tanner get a second chance!

This was a really fun, lighthearted read and kind of reverse roles that I really enjoyed. Relationship phobic Easton is a fun loving girl who only goes for hookups meets sweet/relationship minded Tanner who is visiting from Canada. They have a whirlwind, instant connection that scares Easton so much she cuts ties with Tanner. 2 years later he is back and determined to change her no relationship ways. Great cast of characters, good writing with some nice beach vibes you really can’t go wrong with this one.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This is my first Kristie Leigh book and she definitely has me wanting to go back and read all of the other books she’s released. Her attention to detail and emotional impact had me feel like I was right there in the story with them from the start.

Tanner and Easton melted my heart. What started as a week of no-strings, it became so much more. Their story was beautiful and captivating in a way that will capture your heart and make you want what they have.

Kristie takes you for a ride on an emotional roller coaster, and when it’s all said and done, you want to get back on and ride it all over again. Their story will pull you in from the very beginning and keep you invested all the way through.

Four stars for this emotional ride that you won’t want to let go when it’s all said and done.

Easton is a surfer girl living her life on her own terms. She isn't too keen on labels or commitment. When she meets Tanner a student on a holiday they embark on a passionate fling. When the week comes to an end they both go their separate ways. The story frustrated me because I really wanted to love it but parts just didn't do it for me. I like a strong woman but Easton was hard work and I never really warmed to her. I had no problem with her sexual relationships but at times her dialogue was too ladish for me. Tanner was definitely my favourite of the two he was such a sweetheart and more relatable. This book just had something missing for me.

I went into this book not sure what to expect, ans I absolutely loved every second if reading it.

Tanner and Easton were amazing characters. Their journey had its up and downs, but the way their story was told had me hooked.

I dont want to give much away because you dont get much from the blurb, and I think it is fun going into a book not fully prepared.

What I do want to say though, is that this book is my first by @Kristie Leigh, and it did not disappoint. I cannot wait to read more of her work.

Caught Inside was a fun and sexy beach read. The push & pull between Easton & Tanner is so intense that it keeps guessing as what is going to happen. This is beautiful story focused on love and a second chance.

It is the type of story that clutches you at once and does not release you until you get to the end - then you find yourself pining over the fact that the book has ended.

I loved how the relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways they never expected.

Wham bam thank you is it for her. Boy for someone so young she is jaded. Her only emotional attachments are her two besties.
Enter a tourist named Tanner.
He tips her ape cart with his presence.
She captivated him from the moment he saw her
