Sometimes the good guy just wants to be a little bad.

When a single father in this small mountain town meets the new woman, he’s willing to tarnish his good-guy reputation to be a little naughty with her.

Charlie Harrington

I’m a respectable man in my small town. Doting single father. Fair-to-all mayor. Successful attorney. After one mishap in the past, I avoid scandal at all costs. Making everyone else happy is my goal. I’m content . . . and bored. Then one morning I find a woman in my bedroom, wearing a ring that doesn’t belong to her, and she turns my world upside down. Suddenly, all I can think about is all the bad ways we’d be good together.

Janessa Cruz

As the former wife of a person in the media, the only thing I want is peace and quiet. I’m a single mother desperate to go unnoticed and build a stable future with my daughter. Starting over is the plan. Only when a misunderstanding brings me face-to-face with the sexy silver fox mayor, he’s suddenly everywhere I need to be. And for the first time in my forty-plus years, being a little reckless never felt so right.

+ + +

Another Harrington brother bites the dust, and he’s looking forward to getting all kinds of dirty. Read how Charlie and Janessa navigate single parenthood and a steamy, second chance at love over 40 in this small mountain town.

**The Harrington brothers are a spin-off from Second Chance, but don’t you worry, this later-in-life romance can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

What a read Mayor Mcsteamy has arrived.

Charlie Harrington is a small town mayor a single father to his 10 year old daughter Lucy.

His hard working has a great sense of humour and is a loyal friend and family man.

His brother Billy always calls him goody two shoes little does he know thats far from the truth.

We find that out when he meets Janessa Cruz a single mum to her 10 year old daughter Vega newly divorced and has come to blue ridge to be with her family, little does she know that Charlie is her parents boss.

Let's just say the sparks fly at their first meeting and only gets better after that, they are both dealing with failed marriages and partners that cheated on them but they both want a fresh start.

The chemistry between Charlie and Janessa is something they can't ignore and they don't they are perfect for each other.

But will the two people they left behind let them have that, there are some heartbreaking moments along the way that has you rooting for them both.

Plus Charlies family stand by him every step of the way even James can't wait for his story to be told.

Especially Lucy & Vega who think they belong together and will they live HEA.

Guess you will have to read it to find out, and believe me you want to meet Mayor Mcsteamy hot damn.

Charlie Harrington is a single father and Mayor of a the small Georgia town of Blue Ridge

Janessa Cruz is a newly divorced single mother and the daughter of Charlie's housekeeper.

When they meet there is immediate chemistry and Nessa and Charlie quickly act on their attraction.

The lives of those in the public eye though, are never quite as glamorous as they seem and Charlie and Nessa are pulled through the ringer on the journey to their HEA.

Mistakes are made, misunderstandings abound but love conquers all! Or will it?

The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series follows all the Harrington brothers as they find love when they think they're too set in their ways and least expect it. Silver Mayor however is well able to be read and enjoyed as a standalone. Be warned though, you'll definitely want to visit Blue Ridge and the Harrington family again and again!

Silver Mayor is the 3rd book in The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge Series. It can be read as a standalone, which is how I read it, but there are interlinked characters from the previous books.

This was my first book by L.B Dunbar, and I am already looking to see what to read from her next. Silver Mayor is a book filled with drama and romance, and it had curious to see how this HEA would play out.

Charlie and Janessa meet under unusual circumstances but their connection is instant. I really like Charlie's character, even with him making mistakes, you couldnt help root for him. Janessa has alot to overcome in this book, and it makes for a great journey to follow.

I really enjoyed Silver Mayor and I am looking forward to seeing what's next in this series.

    Adored this sexy read!

"If ever we should meet again in my bedroom, I hope you're naked and willing in my bed and not stealing from me."

Charlie Harrington is the Mr-Goody-Two-Shoes mayor of Blue Ridge, and loving dad of Lucy. He lives a pretty straight forward life and tries to avoid being the subject of scandal. However, his life is turned upside down by a beautiful intruder in his bedroom. The chemistry between them is insane and undeniable, and has Charlie acting all kinds of bad! Unfortunately, things are pretty complicated - not just for him but for her, too.

"We're total strangers. I know nothing about him, yet this...this feels like I've been missing him my entire life."

Janessa Cruz has arrived in town to make a fresh start with her daughter, Vega. Her heart is fragile and she's sparing with her trust but, somehow, the handsome mayor gets under her skin and she can't stay away from him. She's keen to make her own way in the world, without favours, but her past is catching up with her, and her present feels threatened.

"I want to mark her heart like she's marked mine."

This was a sizzler of a novel! I loved the chemistry between Charlie and Janessa. There was something between them from the first moment they met. They'd both been burnt by love and were wary about trusting people. They'd both been burnt by the harsh glare of scandal and rightly wanted to shield themselves from town gossip. My heart went out to them both and I was rooting for them all the way! I adored Charlie! He was pretty swoony! I loved their sweet, wise daughters and their tight friendship, and I laughed at the Harrington brothers' antics. Looking forward to the final book!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Mayor McSteamy is a 5 ⭐️treat!
Reviewed in the United States on 4 June 2020

    Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh boy. I have been waiting for the words to write this article. When I picked up L.B. Dunbar’s Silver Mayor, I had no idea what a treat I’d be in for. I mean, I had a feeling as I had loved Silver Brewer (Giant’s story) and Silver Player (Billy’s romance). Dunbar has this way of creating compelling silver foxes whose life trajectories feel very similar to my own 40-ish something existence. What I didn’t realize was that she was saving some of her best for last.

Silver Mayor offers the story of Charlie Harrington, an attorney and mayor of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Other than a horrific divorce, Charlie Harrington has lived his life by the rules. As a single dad and the mayor of a town, he has carefully curated his choices to both protect his daughter and his town. Then, Janessa Cruz comes to Blue Ridge, and the careful plodding of Charlie’s life becomes upended. The chemistry between these two sizzles from the start, and this creates moments where Charlie and Janessa simply cannot contain their chemistry. However, as their pasts seek to interrupt their lives, their burgeoning coupledom becomes threatened. And this…this causes Charlie and Janessa to almost lose control of themselves and their potential future together.

When I picked up Silver Mayor, I started reading it while reading another book. I do this often because I love variety. My intention was to read a couple of chapters of this story and switch to the other. What ended up happening was a binge-read of Dunbar’s story. I couldn’t put this romance down for so many reasons, so here goes:

*Charlie Harrington is dirty. Honestly, he’s dirtier than Giant and Billy combined by my estimation. And I loved it, not because I love dirty romance (although I do). I loved it because Dunbar takes this rule-following, worries about everyone’s opinion man and crafts him to be a dirty-talking alpha-male in the bedroom. Charlie is a man in control at all times. With Janessa Cruz, though, he cannot stop himself from taking her anywhere at any time. This loss of control is exciting from a romance reader’s perspective because anytime a controlled hero or heroine loses control due to passion it makes for these fiery reads. And this is definitely the case with Silver Mayor. Charlie’s evolution to a man who lives his passion makes this story an exciting one.

*Janessa Cruz is any woman who has been spurned by her husband for his own selfish desires and finds herself without a definitive plan for the future. Through Janessa’s characterization, Dunbar throws messages about autonomy and agency into her romance. Janessa exposes Dunbar’s readers to discussions about power and authority in relationships, the plight of women to be given a voice, and the fight of single mothers to protect and provide for their children. While Charlie acts as, to a certain degree, the levity of this story, Janessa is its gravity. As she struggles to create a new life for herself and her child, she must navigate an attraction grounded in unbridled passion. Her journey becomes the complication of this romance, and Dunbar deftly maneuvers her through it in a way that compels the reader further into the story. One of the reasons I couldn’t put Silver Mayor down is Janessa’s story. It would be easy for Dunbar to partner them together, “saving” Janessa from the trials of her life. However, Dunbar doesn’t take that easy route. Instead, she establishes moments where Janessa gains her autonomy and stands in it for herself and her daughter. Charlie never saves her; instead, Janessa’s agency lies within herself.

*Lastly, one of my other favorite parts of Silver Mayor is its inclusion of the extended Harrington clan. Not only do we harken back to her Sexy Silver Foxes books of Second Chance and Wine&Dine, she reminds us why we love the Harringtons from Silver Brewer and Silver Player. Billy Harrington is his typical playful self in this book, and it connects us over and over again to Dunbar’s universe of characters. These voices lend some mirth to Charlie and Janessa’s story, but, more importantly, they also offer them wisdom. As these two struggle, the extended cast of Dunbar’s characters assists her hero and heroine in their journey towards each other. They also tease us for future stories. Personally, I can’t wait for the next book in her The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge, Silver Biker, as I know James’s story will be the most impactful (I think) of the series. We meet him a bit more in Charlie’s story, as a keen set up for Dunbar’s last book. From a writing perspective, Dunbar’s ability to juggle her characters is part of the reasons we keep reading her books.

I’ve said this before in other reviews. I am a HUGE fan of L.B. Dunbar’s for a few reasons. For one, she writes characters that I personally relate with. Their challenges and mindsets mimic some of my own, and as a reader, I love to “find” myself represented in someone’s books. Secondly, there is an ease to Dunbar’s writing, so that reading her books urges you forward. Every book she writes, I typically read in one sitting because the pacing and story pull you through it. Lastly, L.B. Dunbar’s characters feel like real people with real-world problems. We find pieces of ourselves in characters such as Charlie and Janessa. Even if our experiences aren’t exactly the same, we are able to connect with their challenges to live with our passion, challenging social rules, OR having to find a new path for ourselves when those societal rules want to imprison us. That is the essence of Dunbar’s Silver Mayor. If you love a single-dad, dirty-talking, “good guy” mayor and an intelligent, insightful, headstrong woman, then you absolutely want to read L.B. Dunbar’s newest book.

4.0 out of 5 stars the good boy mayor wants to be bad

Charlie has always done the right thing and been the good guy. When he finds Janessa in his bedroom wearing this grandmothers ring she makes him want to be a different man. Divorced with a ten year old daughter she is the focus of his life with his job taking up the rest of his time. Janessa was in a bad marriage with a well known baseball player. She just wants a new start for her and her ten year old daughter. Getting involved with the major when she is employed by the town isn’t something she wants but their attraction is too great.

Charlie and Janessa ate both in complicated situations with children to consider in all their decisions. They both deserved happiness but I wasn’t convinced they were going about in in the correct way.The story kept my attention and I read it in one sitting. The reason I didn’t give it a five star rating was the number of sex scenes. I’m no prude but I don’t need scenes played out in such detail and so often. I can turn the pages until I get back to the story but I feel a little cheated. Read an chose for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charlie is All That & The Cherry on Top! HOT!!

WOWZER!!! I am in love with Charlie! I have read all of the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge foxes and love all of the Harrington men but Charlie tops the cake for me. I knew from the little clips in other books that he would be interesting but that word is such a let down for what Charlie is. Charlie is HOT, sexy, smart, caring, loving, amazing dad and so much more!! We immediately get to feel Charlie's hotness from the get go. I mean literally the first chapter, I was also rooting for them and we didn't even know Janessa's name.

Janessa and Charlie are both also single parents and have been thru the ringer with their exes and still are going thru it. I love both their daughters and how they become best friends. You can't help but just love their all and want the best for them. Charlie, aka Mayor McSteamy, is definitely all that and more! I mean seriously what in the world was wrong with his wife that they had to schedule sex. She is literally crazy if you ask me. Charlie could just say the word and I'd be there. LOL!

I absolutely literally loved this book and out of all the books that I've read in 2020 thus far, this is by far my favorite and I've already read 123 books with many of them being 4 or 5 stars. I would give this book 10 stars or more if I could. You HAVE to check out this book. Don't wait! BUY this book immediately!

Also I would mention that technically this book is part of a series and I highly recommend you read them as well but you can still enjoy this book without having read the others. I literally can't wait for the next book in this series and getting more into James but I seriously doubt that anyone can top Charlie for me.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scorched but read to set a new flame.

Charlie Harrington is the town Mayor. Sweet, good ole Charlie. The do gooder of the Harrington clan. He’s been through a bitter divorce and is a single father raising his tenacious 10 year old daughter, Lucy while trying to run his small hometown. He isn’t looking for love or forever. He knows better.

Janessa Cruz wants a new start, fresh from a marriage that proved how fake the picture perfect family can be. She’s looking for a way to prove to herself she can raise her 10 year old daughter by herself and build a career while doing it.

First impressions can be deceiving. When these two are thrown together by happenstance, sparks fly. Neither is interested in forever but their electricity can’t be denied.

As they find ways to work through their own magnetic pull for each other the world they live in is pulling them in different directions. LB Dunbar has created another forty something hit with this release. She has a keen eye for the concerns that face this age group and includes these in her stores without making them feel older. You will be drawn to this story wanting nothing more than to turn each page and envision yourself as a friend they’d include in their tribe.

One of the parts that I enjoy most is that as you reach the ending of the story you aren’t rushed to the finish. You are invited to special moments that will linger with you. Explanations and conversations that ring very true and aren’t sugar coated. These characters feel like family and you’re invited to stand witness to their growth as people who have been scorched but are willing to set a new flame one that can last for infinity.

This author’s Silver haired stories are golden.
