I can't escape my ex.
After shooting me in the arm he told me to run or he’d kill everyone I ever loved. And then he’d kill me.

He’s got his sights set on finding me, and my options on places to hide are quickly running out.
Until I meet a gorgeous assassin with an agenda of his own...putting not only my life, but my heart in danger.

His mere presence is a threat. A weapon I’d bet he wields meticulously yet unapologetically. He’s sinisterly beautiful. An intoxicating poison.

I told myself that 2020 will be the year that I try more new to me authors, and J Saman has been on my radar for way too long. So of course the second I saw the blurb to Darkest Sin, I knew this would be my first book by her. And after finishing, I can happily report that I'm hooked! And before you jump down my throat, yes, I started this series with book 3. If you've followed my reviews for even a hot minute, you should already know that I like to do things a bit backasswards. Quit judging. And while this novel certainly stands on it's own and I had no trouble at all immediately diving into this world, I could definitely tell there were some story arcs that carried over from the previous two books. So I'll definitely be going back to read those.

As for this book, I seriously enjoyed it. It was suspenseful, sexy, and totally addicting. I will warn you to suspend your disbelief here. There are some things that happen that are a bit out there and don't get fully fleshed out and somewhat glossed over on the procedural side of things. But I also couldn't find it in me to care. I was that sucked in. And this is coming from someone that reads a ton of suspense and is usually a stickler for these sort of details.
Gavin Moore…
Professional killer.
White knight and darkest sin.

Emma is on the run. The man she fell in love with is not at all the man she thought he was and has turned into her perfect nightmare. She's lost everyone she's ever loved and doesn't spend long in any one place. used to constantly looking over her shoulder, she finds herself in Vegas, and in the crosshairs of someone else.

Gavin is not who he seems. While he wants Emma to believe he's a perfect stranger that's merely hitting on her for a date, he's so much more. A professional killer and a man on a mission, he's there for her but she doesn't know why.

I won't go too far into the story since you can get that from the blurb. But I will tell you that I was immediately hooked on Gavin. The man was sinfully delicious with an aura of danger that oozed from his every pore. GAH. And considering how much I dislike weak heroines, I was even more hooked on Emma. The woman is a fighter through and through. She's not quite what she appears to be herself, and the more the layers were peeled back with her, the more intrigued I became. This is a woman that can fight her own battles and isn't afraid to give as good as she gets. And considering that there's a hit on her life, she doesn't let the fear guide her. She takes everything head on, and I seriously loved that about her.

I had one minor quibble with the way that the dialogue is written, it was difficult to understand who was speaking in certain parts. But aside from that, I seriously enjoyed the writing. The story, was completely addicting. The mystery, the suspense, the non stop action made it a fast paced read that I couldn't get enough of. And the romance? SIZZLING.

Suffice it to say, I've definitely found me a new author to add to my never ending TBR and plan on reading pretty much everything this woman writes (including the rest of this series).

This is the third book in the Las Vegas Sin series, but it can be read as a standalone. J. Saman is a new to me author and this is the first book that I've had the pleasure of reading. I loved all the characters in this story where I know that I will definitely be reading the other two books in the series. Gavin and Emma's story was masterfully dark and dangerous, with the ideal amount of dirty! Darkest Sin by J. Saman is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

CATCHING SIN by J. Saman is sexy, sensual and hot! It is also gritty, dark and filled with drama, page after sizzling page. J. Saman is new to me, and I am now a fan. I seriously enjoyed reading Darkest Sin. The book has everything that would keep any avid romance reader like me glued to every page. It has angst, it has suspenseful drama, emotions, banter and the sultry chemistry between Gavin and Emma was everything!

This first time read impressed on all fronts; it was enthralling, exciting, uber steamy, and it's well penned words was excellent. Such an entertaining and spicy hot read!

J. Saman’s DARKEST SIN is sinfully passionate on every level as life-threatening danger, deadly attraction and scorching romance come together in a raging inferno that started when one woman fell in love with the wrong man and those she loves are dying because of it. The only person standing between Emma and certain death is a darkly handsome and ruggedly terrifying assassin who swears he will keep her alive and safe, although safe may be a relative term.

Emma did so well, hiding in the shadows, never putting down roots since the day her ex-boyfriend promised all she loved would die if she ever told what she saw. Then the handsome stranger kept creeping into her life, her knight in tarnished armor, the thief who stole her heart. Can he earn her trust? What secrets does he hide?

Grab the ice water, keep a fire extinguisher handy, J. Saman is scorching the pages of romantic suspense once again and all I can say is…WHOA! Another fabulously dark and edgy tale told with real grit from an author who grabbed my attention long ago and hasn’t let me down since!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from J. Saman! This is my honest and voluntary review.

H O L Y H A D E S ! M I N D B L O W N ! ! ! I can always count on this masterful storyteller, but she has outdone herself with this gritty, thrilling, arresting story! Saman creates a dark, murky world where lines are blurred and right and wrong are muted shades of gray. Edgy, unvarnished and raw, the hero is a ruthless, emotionless rogue we should despise with our very being, but instead the reader is left worshipping at his feet, desperately begging for more.

Emma Small escaped from an evil, ruthless man. The man she thought she knew and loved. The man she dreamed of forever with. She’s been on the run for five years, trying to stay a step ahead while, one by one, her family and friends have been eliminated – a reminder never to speak about what she witnessed, and a constant threat that the evil could find her at any minute.

Once again we return to the bright lights, glitz and glamor of Las Vegas, with its seedy underbelly exposed. Emma has been in Vegas for a few months, knowing it's time to move on, until Gavin Moore walks into her life. She quickly realizes that all is not as it seems with the handsome stranger. But as her past and present converge, he may be her only salvation.

Whatever you thought you knew about dark romance, set it aside, because this book eclipses it all. The layers, the danger, the mind games, the twists and turns, the shocking reveals, the intricacies and nuances all serve to make this one of the most compelling, riveting books I’ve ever read.

And then there are the characters. No one is what they appear to be at the beginning of the story. Pieces of history and character subtleties are doled out bit by bit with perfect placement and exquisite timing for the strongest impact. Both Emma and Gavin have secrets. Both have flaws and complexities, and it all serves to bind the reader to them and completely invest her in their story.

Emma seems like an scared, innocent, wounded victim, but her inner strength, stubbornness and determination quickly become apparent. Over and over we see Emma running headlong into trouble, driven more by a need for vengeance than any sense of self-preservation. Part of me wanted to shake some sense into her while the rest of me admired her gutsy determination and was cheering for her at every turn. Just when I think I understood her, she surprised me once again.

Gavin is my new favorite anti-hero! He's a complex conundrum, a hired killer with a boringly normal upbringing. He's a cold, solitary man, a mercenary with no home, no friends, and certainly no complicated romantic relationships. He'll kill a man to fulfill a contract without a blink of his eye or a single regret. Ah, but this ruthless man has a black heart with a capacity for love, and when he loves, he does it with a determination and commitment that obliterates the unimpassioned soldier of fortune.

Indifference is impossible once you immerse yourself in this book. It will grapple your heart, seize your mind and steal your breath. Anchor yourself to whatever haven you can and get ready for an exhilarating, unparalleled, wild ride. This shining star in dark romance easily makes it onto my list of top five reads for the year and, I can’t stress this strongly enough, you absolutely don’t want to miss it!

Emma's boyfriend turned out to be unlike the loving facade he portrayed, and ever since a fateful encounter when she saw something she wishes she hadn't, she's been on the run from him. He's taken everyone she loves from her, and she's determined to stay alive and off his radar. Then she keeps running into a dangerously addicting man who's making her feel again. But feelings might be dangerous for her. Is Gavin who he says he is? Or is his appearance in her life not the happenstance he claims? Emma will need to guard her heart and guard herself while she figures it out...

Holy smokes but Darkest Sin is intense! And dark and gritty and explosively hot. I loved it. Even though I just knew something was not quite as it seemed with Gavin, I still fell for him the way Emma did because really, there's no way I couldn't fall for someone so sensual and intriguing. Emma, though, is the best part of her story. She's a tough, smart badass. She's no simpering woman just waiting on a man to rescue her and take care of her. Nope, she's independent and strong and a force all on her own, more than a match for the man whose heart she holds in her hands. If you like your romances with heavy doses of grit and heat, then I highly recommend you download your own copy of Darkest Sin.

What a wild and intense ride!! J. Saman is a new to me author and i'll be sure to check out her back list now! The blurb for this book caught my eye so I jumped on it. It is everything I love in a dark romantic suspense and i'm so glad I decided to read it. I was consumed by this dark and dangerous underground world hidden among the streets and bright lights of Vegas.

Emma Small has been on the run for years now, since the man she thought she knew and loved shot her after she witnessed something she shouldn't have, and told her to run. Her family and friends have started turning up dead, and she knows he's following through on his threats to her. It's a constant reminder for her to keep her guard up and keep moving, never staying in one place for too long. Her time is about up in Vegas when the sexy, yet mysterious stranger Gavin Moore shows up.

Gavin is so sinfully hot. He is all alpha and so intense. Dark and mysterious. He's a trained killer yet he comes from a completely normal family and upbringing. He's a loner, a mercenary, always on the road with no particular place to call home and no social circle to speak of outside of his work. But something about Emma has caught his eye and he can't seem to let that go.

These two seemed so opposite from each other at the beginning, yet they turned out to be similar and so perfect together. Their chemistry was HOT! I loved the comical banter between them and the way Emma pushed all of his buttons. The plot line was action packed and so full of surprises. I wasn't sure who to trust as nobody was who or what they seemed. Emma's determination and need for vengeance is what I truly loved about her. She threw caution (and her safety) to the wind to exact her revenge.

Darkest Sin is a complex, layered story with so many secrets and so much suspense woven throughout, I found it hard to put my kindle down. Completely spell-binding and unputdownable, Darkest Sins is your next must read!

Darkest Sin was sinfully addictive from the very start. Once I started reading this one, I couldn’t put it down. This story completely sucks you in from the very first page. There are so many twists and turns throughout the story you truly have no clue what is going to happen next.

Emma is on the run. Everyone she loves is gone. She wants revenge. Then she meets the mysterious Gavin. He has been watching her. He knows her past. These two are drawn to each other. Despite the dangers and the risks for both of them, they can’t stay away from each other. Will they be each other’s downfall?

I love Emma. She is strong. She is determined. She can definitely hold her own. She has walls up to protect herself. However, there are glimpses of her vulnerability and her fears throughout the book. Gavin. I can’t help but love the guy. He’s a highly skilled assassin, but there is more to him. He didn’t come from a sick, dark and twisted past. There are many layers to him. The chemistry between Emma and Gavin is OFF THE CHARTS. Seriously, these two could burn down buildings with the heat radiating between them. Though, it wasn’t just their physical chemistry I loved. They had a much deeper connection and they are the missing piece the other needed.

Darkest Sin is full steam, suspense, romance, and action. This book is fantastic. If you are romantic suspense lover this one is definitely one you’ll want to read. It is a MUST READ and one of my TOP READS of 2020.

Fast-paced and full of twists and turns, Darkest Sin was a thrill ride! This story had it all: action, suspense, mystery, some laughs, and a lot of passion. Both leads were intriguing and captivating. Emma was capable, broken, and resilient. Her bravery and loyalty were endearing. Gavin is the best of the best and he knows it. He’s confident without being cocky and protective without being a jerk, I really loved his character. Then you put these two together and wow, they were off the charts. Their chemistry was palpable, I couldn’t get enough of them.

With shocking revelations and painful betrayals, my heart was racing! I was glued to the pages, desperate to find out how things would turn out.

Dark and wild ride

If you haven’t tried Saman’s work yet, it’s time to change that! There’s an intensity to her writing that hooks you in and doesn’t let go until the last page. Even when I was torn about some of the elements in this dark romance, she had me reeled into the story. It’s darker than I anticipated - a lot of that stems from the personalities of our antihero and antiheroine - but so addictive. This one’s for those who love a complicated romance, don’t shy away from darkness, and are willing to go on an action-packed ride. There’s plenty of suspense to keep you turning the pages, a compelling romance, and intimacy that shines during some very steamy scenes. Don’t worry if you’re not caught up on the series - there might be a couple of references that go over your head, but this reads easily as a standalone.

The story follows Emma, a woman who has been on the run since discovering that her ex is a killer. She fled for her life 5 years ago and has been looking over her shoulder ever since. When she meets a charming, flirtatious guy with darkness lurking behind his eyes, Emma isn’t sure what to think. Her trust in men is almost non-existent, and something about him makes her believe that there’s a ruthlessness under his polished exterior. Assigned with the task of watching Emma, Gavin is surprised by how intriguing he finds her. While darkness has always lived inside Gavin - he’s an assassin by trade because he loves to kill - he sees that life has hardened Emma and changed her. There’s a connection there that Gavin would love to ignore, but violence seems to bring these two together.

This isn’t my first time reading one of Saman’s books, so I knew I was going to be in for an intense, complicated read - and it is exactly that. Gavin is a lot darker than I expected him to be (honestly, so is Emma), which I definitely struggled with at times but I also couldn’t help but love their connection. There’s no mistaking that Gavin is cold-blooded, but Emma brings out another side to him that was great to see. This one’s going to push your boundaries while holding your interest. Prepare yourself for an action-packed, dark read with lots of triggering content. Saman is such a skilled writer that she made me love this couple; her steamy scenes are really incredible, focusing on advancing the storyline while also heating up the pages. That’s not the focus of the book - there is a ton of suspense in this one - but I loved all of those quieter moments that draw these two broken souls together. That’s where she really excels as a writer and my absolute favorite part of her work. Buckle up for a twisted, crazy ride with this one - and don’t say that I didn’t warn you. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy, suspenseful read.

"You've got the wrong man, butterfly. The only one touching you now is the devil. The Fallen angel. The broken price. Your worse nightmare and the greatest salvation"

Put aside any preconceived idea's you have about this book from the title. Is this story hot? Hell yes but it is more than that - I would class it is a romantic thriller/suspense with more twist and turns than any modern day thriller you might have read.

I haven't read the first two books in the Las Vegas Sin series and I didn't need too. But do I want to now after reading Darkest Sin - you bet I do.

'Fear is an asset, not a weakness"

For over 5 years Emma Small has been on the run; not staying in places long believe that on the day her boyfriend killed a man and shot her that the only way to keep her family alive was to stay as far away as she could. But now her adoptive parents and sister are dead staying hidden is more important than ever as the devil is coming out of hiding and he want's Emma, but she was trained by her parents to look after herself.

Thinking that she is safe in Las Vegas she wasn't expecting Gavin from the first moment she meets him she knows he isn't all he seems to be and she was right. But she can't help but fall for this complex man. I can't help but go along with Emma on that one. There is just something about Gavin how this character has been written that just makes you want to climb him like a tree!

Gavin has been employed to do a job he is a gun for hire what he wasn't expecting was the feisty Emma and the feelings she invoked in him. But there is more to this man than meets the eye.

When Emma is presented with the truth about her life and why there is a bounty on her head she does the only thing she can fight!

I want to be Emma when I grow up that girl has some balls and isn't afraid to use them!

Emma’s life was forever changed five years ago when she realized that the man she loved was not the man she thought he was. Ever since she has been going from town to town determined to be able to leave at a moment’s notice and not allow anyone close as experience has shown her that being near her could have deadly consequences. She is not only strong and fierce but she is feeling like she is waging a battle she can’t win and doesn’t know what her next step should be but if she makes the wrong one it could have dire consequences.

Gavin is the perfect combination of dark, dangerous and determined. He has inserted himself in Emma’s life but only she can decide if he is friend or foe. Gavin is a complicated man with his own moral code who has a mission to complete. What the man who never showed emotion wasn’t expecting was the pull that he would feel for Emma and that she would become so much more than a job.

The characters are compelling, the chemistry off the charts and the surprising and intriguing storyline leads you on an adventure that you won’t be able to put down.

Both characters are amazing and definitely are strong AF. This dark romance will have your head spinning in the best possible way!

All in all, this book blew my freaking mind with all of its twists and was an enjoyable read! I don't want to give away any spoilers, so won't go into details, just know that it is a I definitely recommend you checking it out! I give it a 4.5 outta 5 stars!

Emma and Gavin are similar because of their dark souls and things that they’ve endured. She’s a survivor in her own way and so is he but for completely other things. They met in the most unconventional way but she wouldn’t let her guard down. Poor girl has been thru so much that she doesn’t trust easily. These two unexpectedly fall for each other even though it wasn’t part of Gavin’s plan and it was something they just couldn’t avoid. But it wasn’t an easy love story. They were secrets revealed that shattered even more Emma’s trust. That deceit was one that really did a number on her. But Gavin was there to pick her up. They’ve been thru a lot both having their own demons to fight but they were exactly what each other needed.

Ever since reading the blurb I have been looking forward to this book. It's a new to me author and from the prologue alone I'll most likely be going back and reading the rest of the series.

The detailing is impressive, making you feel like you are skulking the streets of Sin City alongside the characters. In the beginning they are both elusive, not showing their cards to each other. Can trust be built on the shaky grounds of secrets and lies, or will the house of cards come tumbling down?

Once you get past the orginal cat and mouse game, the storyline only gets better and better, having you so engrossed you can barely think straight. So much of what I enjoyed can't be mentioned without ruining the story, but rest assured you will soon be hooked. With so many players in this deadly game, you won't know where to look or who to trust.

Definitely a must read and hope the author does more like it in the future.

This is my first book by this author and what a book I picked for my first one. This is a dark and dangerous book that starts with a bang that makes you want to keep reading. Emma is a resourceful woman she's on the run and we see the toll it's taking on her mentally. When she encounters a mysterious man she's wary because she is aware not to judge first appearances. Like Emma keep your wits about you because nothing is at it seems. Get ready to fall into the murky crime underworld, leave your morals and expectations at the door and expect surprises at every turn.

I wish I would have caught this series from the beginning but I didn’t feel like I missed anything coming in on the third book. This story had me glued to my kindle from the very beginning. Twists and turns galore!! Emma and Gavin are drawn to each other. She has no one left and is out for revenge. Gavin has been watching her, knows her past and is a highly skilled assassin. They are their missing pieces. The ones that completes their souls.

This is my first but certainly not my last read by this author as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Emma is a strong likeable character. When she sees something she shouldn’t have she finds herself on the run. Everything changes when Gavin enters her life. He comes across as a heartless hired assassin. I really like him. These two are explosive together.

I thought this was a well written fast paced story that had me on the edge of my seat. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Anna has been on the run for years, not knowing who or what lurks around each corner. Gavin is a contract killer that has been hired to protect rather than kill. When these 2 meet...sparks ignite. Unfortunately, Anna’s entire existence is about to come crashing down around her.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I enjoyed it so much that I went back and got the other 2 books in the Las Vegas Sin series. This can be read as a stand alone, but why would you want to?

Four freaking fantastic stars!!!!

Darkest Sin by J Saman is to die for!! Literally haven’t had much time to read but I have endured a couple of caffeinated late nights just to read this book & I have been clinging to every word!!! J Saman is a new to me author and she blew my mind with this one 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I don’t think I was expecting how addictive this book was going to be and I have enjoyed every minute of it.. Literally so much happened from beginning to end, my head was spinning from all the drama!

Emma was a bad*** heroine and she knew she was sexy as sin!! I loved her confidence and her strength! She caught the eye of heart throb, Gavin and both of them together was magnetic.

So Gavin is a alphahole, dark and brooding hero!! He was a contract hitman and I fell at his feet! Just everything about him was super duper sexy, he was controlling, possessive, jealous, demanding!!! I was drooling, actually drooling over his character!

HOLY HELL! Darkest Sin came out of the gate with a bang, and never slowed down whatsoever. Emma met the wrong guy who she fell for, which ended with her being shot in the arm & going on the lamb like he told her to in order to keep her friends & family safe. Fast forward some years, everyone Emma ever loved is dead, and now she's positive she's being hunted. She comes across Gavin while on the run in Vegas, and frankly, he's one of the best assassin's so she didn't know what to believe. However, they had chemistry in spades which he tried to not give in to, but it wouldn't be denied which added the sexy times to this exciting story. There were tons of twists which were all turned out, and found me dropping loud f-bomb after loud f-bomb because I didn't see everything coming. The action was crazy exciting, so yeah, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Darkest Sin, and CANNOT WAIT for more of this series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is dark and dangerous, and oh so steamy. The story kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through, and is another reason why I love all of this author's books.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Only, the laws of physic do not apply human interactions. No, human interactions, at least in my experience, tend to be more the product of chaos theory. A goddamn butterfly-no pun intended-flaps its motherfucking wings, and lo and behold, there is a tsunami."

J. Saman got me hooked onto this book from the very first sentence in the blurb! I knew I would like it instantly. It had everything I love in a romantic suspense novel! Without further ado, I present my Darkest Sin review.

Summary:
"Everyone has an ex who haunts them. Mine shot me in the arm and told me to run r he'd kill everyone I ever loved. And then he'd kill me. Years later, he's made good on that promise. I'm the only one left. He's got his sights set on finding me, and my options on places to hide are quickly running out. Until I meet a gorgeous assassin with an agenda of his own...putting not only my life, but my heart in danger. With piercing green eyes and irresistible confidence, Gavin tells me not to be afraid. Promises he's on my side. Swears he's here to protect me instead of doing what he does best...kill. The desire to trust him is tempting. The passion between us, even more so. But when everything I thought I knew suddenly flipped upside down, and all that's dangerous and forbidden comes to light, I have to make a choice. Continue to run and hide...Or risk it all, including the man who somehow captured my heart."

Characters:
Emma: Throughout the whole book I had one common thought about Emma-she is such a strong and admirable character. There were so many awful situations Emma was involved in, but each and every one showed how much strength she has. I love that we see two different sides of Emma-the innocent, quiet one, and the loud angry one. You never know which one you'll get, Gavin never knew 😂. I really liked how the author showed Emma in an easily relatable and like-able character. She reacted to information just like anyone else would in a certain situation, which I really admire. Throughout the whole book, I loved Emma's attitude and snarkiness (I just created my own word I think). It was so fun reading about her, and learning more about her personality.

Gavin: I loved Gavin. I though he was such a funny person to be around, which is kind of bizarre given his line of work (But oh well, he's still one of my favorites and no amount of killing will change that, hopefully). Gavin has many different sides to him, the funny, charming side, and then the dark and dangerous side. I liked seeing both sides in very different lighting. He reminds me a little of a character by Tijan-Logan Kade. (I don't know it it's just me, but they just seem really similar in their personalities and hotness).

Plot:
I had so many expectations going into this book, and J. Saman has managed to surpass them all. From the get-go, the book had intrigued me. I love murder mysteries, suspense, and romance all bundled into one book. I was about 32% (Chapter 12) in, and I could already tell I'd love this book. There is so much depth and character within this book. The plot is multi-dimensional, and the characters had so much depth. It wasn't, what you see is what you get. The more the book continues, the more you learn about the characters and start to feel for them. You will definitely grow attachments and emotions in this book. There are very good twists in this book to keep you on your toes guessing. At times, I had a feeling in my gut that was like: something bad is about to happen. The ending seemed a bit rushed and repetitive to me. But, I guess where else was the author suppose to turn? I liked the ending, but it seemed a little anti-climatic to me.

Chemistry:
Chemistry!!! There definitely was chemistry...or should I say banter? The banter was so fun and innocent (at times), which is so funny to me given their current situation. The chemistry wasn't all consuming, but it was there and readers can definitely feel it. The characters seemed very magnetized to each other, which I thought was very cute and romantic.

Rating:
I give this book 4/5 stars! I enjoyed the book! There was romance, suspense, violence, and mystery which are the perfect ingredients in a good book. The characters were very well written and I liked seeing the different personalities. The ending just seemed a little repetitive and a little anti-climatic to me. Therefore, i gave this book 4 stars.

I HIGHLY recommend this book if it intrigues you just a little bit, because you won't regret it!

J. Saman is one of those romance authors that always captures my heart right from the beginning with relatable female characters that are strong willed, intelligent and ready to face anything that's thrown at them. Many authors depend on weak-minded females to carry along a good romance novel, but Saman has women in her stories that I always admire and relate to.

Darkest Sin is not a different formula for Saman in this manner, where we have Emma who is on the run from her ex-boyfriend who tried to kill her. She's gone into hiding and has tried to stay low, but while he's trying to find her, everyone she has ever loved or been close to has been killed in his pursuit.

Emma could have chosen to become a scared young woman who took her own life with everything she's had to face, but instead she decided to carry her own fate in her hands and keep herself hidden for years in the shadows of regular society, trying to hide from her crazy ex.

That is until a handsome stranger shows up in a coffee shop of the latest city she's hiding out in, Las Vegas. She is sitting there having a cup of coffee when a stranger tries overly hard to get her to go out on a date and this mystery man defends her honor and immediately catches her attention. Emma is rightly concerned that this handsome fellow isn't who he says he is, but that doesn't stop her attraction to him. They are inexplicably drawn to one another and she can't stop following the mouse down the rabbit hole.

This was not just a romantic journey, but one that incorporated so many elements of our seedy underworld of crime lords, drug and human trafficking and gambling, but also wove in tons of fun supporting characters that I'd love to learn more about. Specifically the elusive Fiona; she is the wife of one of the hotel owners and she has been through hell and back. Her and Emma immediately connect over their shared experiences and similar traits.

A story filled with drama, excitement, lots of crime and of course lots of sexual attraction and fun to be had between our main characters. I greatly enjoyed diving into the dark world of Darkest Sin and getting lost in their adventure. There have been a number of romance novels written lately that incorporate these darker story elements and I personally think they bring a refreshing light to romance novels. Because not all love stories are fairy tales, in the traditional sense.

One other thing that I enjoyed about the relationship dynamic between Emma and Gavin, was that while they had concerns and they mulled them over a little bit, they didn't let those hang heavy in the way or drive them to do things they otherwise wouldn't have done. Saman does a great job letting these characters explore their reservations and talk about their issues together, finding ways to overcome those issues. Many romance novels I read, this is the climactic piece that pulls them apart and allows them to find their way back to one another. Whereas Saman uses these elements as a strength factor for her characters. Very commendable character developments that I wholeheartedly appreciate.

I’ve found a great new author who ticks all my boxes; (in no particular order) an exciting and solid storyline, lots of twists and turns, romance, fabulous suspense that has you wondering how things will pan out and interesting characters.

In this story, Emma is on the run from a past traumatic experience and Gavin is sent after her. Her instincts are peaked because she doesn’t trust he is just flirting with her. He is definitely more than he makes out, oh so much more.

Emma is a strong, sassy woman who has incredible self-defence skills to boot. I thoroughly loved her character and how she is a ‘take no prisoners’ type of person. Gavin is an alpha to the max yet he does listen to Emma and admire her. He is stealthy and organized to a tee. Together they make an amazing couple and their chemistry is off the charts. The intimacy scenes aren’t over the top or too much which I liked too, yet the passion is hot, hot, hot!

Talk about going to the emotional fairground and hoping on quite a few rides. One minute I am chuckling at Emma’s antics or cheering her on, the next I am scared witless for her and practically on the edge of my seat. Then there’s the hurdy-gurdy where you are tossing around so much anger for certain characters and their actions. Great stuff by this author to get you fully enmeshed in the story.

I am definitely going back for more books by this wonderful author and recommend you read this one too.

Emma Small fell for the wrong man, one that tried to kill her after she saw something she shouldn't have, and she has been on the run ever since that night. She has changed her name several times, lived in several different places, never really putting down any kind of roots, for fear that he would find her. He's has taken everything that meant something to her, and he will stop at nothing to get his hands on her again...

Then she meets Gavin Moore, he comes into her life like a force of nature, making promises she isn't so sure he can keep. He tells her she can trust him, but with her past, the likelihood of her putting her trust in another man is slim to none. But little by little he starts to weasel his way into her life and before long he starts to sneak his way into her heart too. But she still can help but doubt his intentions a little after she learns more about him...but nothing could prepare her for the secrets he has been holding onto!

Darkest Sin is a suspenseful, steamy, and action-packed page-turner that will grab your attention from the first page and hold it tightly until the last. Emma and Gavin pulled me into her dangerous little world and had me dying to know if they ever be in the clear. Upon first meeting it was evident that they had chemistry, but Emma held back for good reason, and it took her a bit to trust Gavin. She stood her ground, question his intentions, and always tested him. He had to work hard to gain ground with her, and sometimes took when she didn't willing give, but it was for her safety. I loved this one, it was dark, intense, and filled with action.. the dangerous and steamy kind. Ms. Saman's well penned words not only dazzled, but also put a nice little squeeze on my heart! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
