The “Palestinians” want to perpetuate their false narrative by erasing all historical traces of the ancient Jewish presence in the area. Islamic jihadists in general want to destroy the artifacts of non-Muslim civilizations because doing so testifies to the truth of Islam, as the Qur’an suggests that the destroyed remnants of ancient non-Muslim civilizations are a sign of Allah’s punishment of those who rejected his truth:
Many were the Ways of Life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth. (Qur’an 3:137)
“Palestinian Authority demolishing ancient Jewish fortress – report,” by Zachary Keyser, Jerusalem Post, May 12, 2020:
Israeli NGO Regavim has reported that the Palestinian Authority destroyed the Jewish heritage site of Tel Aroma in the absence of Civil Administration inspectors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to JNS.
The NGO reported that the ancient walls of the Samarian fortress and the reservoirs within were destroyed by Palestinian constructing teams, adding that the PA paved an access road to bring “heavy engineering tools” to the site.“Enforcement authorities must give this matter the attention it deserves; they have a responsibility to live up to, this is their job and we expect them to do it. This systematic destruction of Jewish heritage sites throughout Judea and Samaria cannot continue. We demand that they put an immediate stop to the ongoing destruction of Tel Aroma; we call upon the relevant authorities to take action without delay,” head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan told JNS.
Tel Aroma was one of eight ancient fortresses spread along the eastern Israeli border, established by the Hasmonean dynasty in either the early 1st or 2nd century BCE. The fortress itself was situated upon a ridge, controlling a passage between Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
The Hasmonean dynasty, descendants of the Maccabee family, ruled Judea and surrounding areas from 141-37 BCE, during classical antiquity….
According to JNS, Regavim’s “Preserving the Eternal” project noted that the demolition of the fortress had been ongoing for at least a year, however, in light of the coronavirus pandemic and the absence of Civil Administration inspectors, the newly installed PA access road has been used to bring in heavy machinery and construction equipment (generators, perimeter lighting, etc.) to take over the site.
The non-profit project added that Senior PA officials and members of the Beta Municipality formally inaugurated the site as a “Palestinian Heritage Site” which they purport gives them the “right” to carry on with the demolition….

Response to BH: archeological heritage is priceless. Islam’s wanton archeological vandalism started with Mohammed. The Pallies have been destroying the archeology around Temple Mount for years. They want to remove the evidence of the first and second Temples.

Yes–this is a big part of it, Mortimer.
But ultimately Muslims want to destroy *all* “Jahillya”.

Islam loves death and destruction of everything non-Islamic.
mortimer says
Yes, rooare, it is a doctrine called ‘Al Walaa wal Baraa’. It is an ‘essential’ doctrine that Muslims should practice to be admitted to paradise. Mohammed destroyed much pre-Islamic art.

So, we can expect the U.N. “World Heritage Site” organization, or whatever they call themselves, will rush in and “protect” whatever remains, right? And the “Palestinian”… no, wait… AUTHORITY?… will stand down. Authority? How could they possibly have an “authority”, the Land is not theirs, and their political entity is illegitimate at best. What’s wrong with Israel that they can’t move in and arrest, try, and jail the perpetrators for destruction of Israeli National Monuments?
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
This is reminiscent of the mob intent on destroying statues of confederates in Charlottseville. Destroy history to own the future.
mortimer says
Succinctly put. The final stage of genocide is the suppression of memory and rewriting of history.
mortimer says
An archeological site in Samaria from the second century BC is certainly not ‘Palestinian’ in any sense of the word, especially when the site’s artefacts are the work of a Jewish kingdom.
The loss of pre-Islamic artefacts through Islamic vandalism is normative Islam, because Mohammed gave the example when he vandalized the pre-Islamic art held in the Kaaba’s sacred precincts in Islam’s first holy city of Petra.

Mortimer,
It was a Palestinian heritage site.
That was where they perfected the manufacture of bombs and missiles to use upon the jews.
Sorry couldn’t help, my sarcasm switch is fully operational today.

We must stop describing ourselves as ‘non-muslims’ as if the default is ‘muslims’?
Also the word ‘unbeliever’ making us the second class others.
What do contributors on here suggest?
The word ‘holy’ shouldn’t be used when referring to their ‘instruction manual’ or festivals etc.

I agree. We are humans, they are murderous cultists.

Should we derive some hope from things like this? Militant Muslims have no contact with reality. How long can a movement with no contact with reality last? It was perhaps the divorce of Nazism from reality that helped bring about its downfall.

I suggest that Israel finds a way to recover damages by withholding more monies from the cash being transferred to the PA. Israel has been, and is being too nice in its dealings with the PA. Take the gloves off ! Being accommodating to the PA will achieve nothing and only embolden it.

What–we just fork over a little less money of our money to the ravening “Palestinians”?. Yeah, I’m sure that’ll stop them…

Just horrifying–Muslims have been destroying these kind of sites for centuries now.

christians and muslims both have destroyed ancient civilizations throughout the world. both want to dominate the world by rewriting history favorable to them.

Actually, the Christian West developed archeology. Can Shastra explain how archeology destroys ancient civilizations? I doubt it….

Good Morning,
Very foolish act, these people don’t know the value of Historical monuments, immaterial of their origin.
They can destroy the physical structures, but can they destroy the knowledge, people have in their minds.

Oh, they know the value–they just don’t share it. Part of Islam is about destroying all “Jahillya”.

On the bright side, no Palestinian archaeological/historical sites were destroyed, because there are none.
OREN WYSOCKI says
Let start with pointing out the possibilities with the King of Jordans statement. First off, he is the leader of arab muslims, who regardless of background, still hope that Israel will be destroyed, still hate Jews with A passion, still are loyal to the koranic plan of using violence, demographics and deception to ware down all non muslims, which will lead to their eventual collapse. Therefore, the King of Jordan must always appear somewhat hostile and contemptuous to the Jews of Israel. Whatever is good for Israel and the Jews, an arab muslim King must oppose it. Whatever makes the Jews more happy, he must oppose it.
The reality of the matter is that the security of all is benefitted by the Jews being in control, instead of pretending that sovereignty for arab muslims means much. Considering their democracy cannot last longer than one election, resulting in the only gain being ridding themselves of the non oppression of the cursed Jews, who the new dictator will certainly direct their hatred against, completely not in line with what the international community would like you to believe about arab muslims no longer supporting terrorism after they have their own land. The King of Jordan can never, ever admit that arab muslims cannot share control of their country, have difficulty running normal sized countries not dominated by Israel, and their only hope to avoid being ruled by fanatical muslim terrorists is if the Jews of Israel rule over them.
If its good for the Jews of Israel, and bad for the arab muslims of Jordan and Israel then it still might be the best thing for us to do. I think the overwhelming evidence is that nationhood would be A bad thing for the arab muslims of Israel, it will be A terror state, it will be short lived, and it will face A violent end, with A high probability that when that blood bath is ended the people of Israel no longer care what the americans, Europeans, and international community think at that point. Which leaves the possibility that it is good for the Jews of Israel, good for the arab muslims of Israel, which is highlighted by the protests in the little muslim triangle that does not want to join the arab muslim nation, and may or may not cause the muslim haters of Jews and Israel to set up shop in Jordan.
Good riddance. The purpose of establishing laws, boundaries, borders and security zones is to push A peoples enemies away from your nation and people. If the hatred of the arab muslims is so strong, that they require an outlet for their desire to war against Israel, let that war be on Israels borders, and not on Israels streets. If A substantial percentage of arab muslims have hatred for Jews, and they need an outlet to alleviate those muslims who desire to attack at the moment, and the rest of the arab muslims do not report on them, do not call for their arrest, but instead they support them, then they should live with the instability that they cause.
If they decide to overthrow the Jordanian government for not sufficiently opposing Israel, then they deserve that to, and from the Israeli position, better that the entire border of Jordan be exposed to attack by terrorists, rather than Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the rest of the majority of ISraels population be exposed to the most basic of weapons, closing Israels airport, driving Jews into bomb shelters.
To recap, the king of Jordan has to say Israeli strength and order is A bad thing, he cannot admit it’s a good thing, he benefits not at all by saying it is manageable, and the fact that its bad for Jordan does not outweigh the fact that it is much better for Israel to be in control than for the PLO, or Hamas, or the Jordanians to be in control. We can run the police departments in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, they can have politicians who teach islam (which we should neuter), they can control civil affairs, the economy, laws and everything else that does not deal with rebellion against the Jews of Israel. Just like occupying americans do, the same ones forbidding us from talking about the motives of the muslims to attack and conquer Jews and Israel. This too can be implemented in phases, it is the right solution to fit the bill of coexistence.
Stop pretending that arab muslims can stop the terrorism, they can’t even say they oppose it. The gulf arabs are not unequal to the Jews of Israel for now, and they want to hold on to what they got, and they face nuclear annihilation by iran (a temporary situation), and still they don’t have A right to vote or have their opinions measured by polling companies pertaining to policy towards Israel. I am rather sure that if gulf arabs supported peace with Israel in majority numbers the Israeli media wouldn’t be able to shut up about it. That’s without dealing with the fact that like the americans, the gulf arabs at best A minority can support temporary peace with Israel, but not if they do what Jews need to do in order to manage Jew hatred from the international community and the arab muslims of Israel and around Israel. They can support A Jew on A pedestal, not the reality of what is needed in this world. Jews need to exist in reality in order to avoid getting killed.
So, pressure the world to agree to A path forward all the way through Israeli annexation of all Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, and the path to relocation of the arab muslims after that. Or wash your hands of the relationship, because they cannot progress forward anymore, despite the conversation that A minority of americans are able to have.
Israel should not sacrifice actual blood, security and strategic positioning from unknown threats, in exchange for the hope that the highly censored and overwhelmed free media of America persuades some exile Jews and gentiles, who don’t believe they can do anything, and they are right because they are in America, not Israel. Most of the good ones have already been persuaded, the bad ones have decided to lie until the very end. How many grown americans don’t know that muslims are violent, and seemingly have issues making living with them unpleasant? Those fighting for G-d and justice lead, it is the responsibility of the rest to follow. In G-d I trust.
Gork says
…and then people get angry when Jews annex territory that was once theirs. So that they can excavate it, understand it, and preserve it.
What next? Will the “Palestinians” destroy the tomb of the patriarchs? –Oh and let’s not forget what they did on the Temple Mount when they “excavated” an area to build annexes for the Dome of the Rock. And in the process they destroyed invaluable archeology pertaining to the Second Temple of Judaism.
For this, the PA deserves to lose the land. If they won’t honor and respect where they are and who they are, and what the role it played in humanity, they have no business owning anything.
