Ryanair has announced about its plans to re-launch 40% of flights across 90% of pre-crisis route network from July. The airline expects to operate almost 1,000 flights daily.

Although the return to operations at such a scale is still a subject to restrictions lift and safety measures introduced, the low-cost carrier has set very ambitious plans to restore air travel.

“After 4 months, it is time to get Europe flying again”, said Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair.

After grounding most of its fleet since the middle of March, Ryanair has been “operating a skeleton daily schedule of 30 flights between Ireland, the UK and Europe”.

From July the budget airline is determined to re-open flights from most of its 80 bases across Europe with rather lower frequency on the busiest routes but with as wide network as possible.

Also, Ryanair revealed introducing a number of safety measures, including temperature checks at airport entry and wearing face masks/coverings.

“While temperature checks and face masks/coverings are the cornerstone of this healthy return to service, social distancing at airports and onboard aircraft will be encouraged where it is possible”, the airline said in a statement

Additionally, as a temporary measure Ryanair will ask its passengers flying in July in August to provide the details on the duration of their visits and addresses in another EU countries. The information will be passed to EU governments to help track travellers in case any isolation regulations apply in the countries they come to.
