“For the first time in the city of Zoller, a Christian priest publicly prayed from the canopy of the mosque of the Muslim community,” alongside an imam.
Michael Knaus’ reasoning was:
“It is simply about a peaceful coexistence of denominations and religions.” And that is why he gladly accepted the invitation from Baykan Akdogan, the dialogue officer of the Muslim community, to say a prayer for peace.
If normative Islamic doctrine were all about “peaceful coexistence of denominations and religions,” there wouldn’t be a problem; but instead, it teaches supremacy, subversion and conquest of unbelievers. Knaus, like so many others, has chosen to turn a blind eye to this normative Islamic doctrine, which views Christianity as inferior, calls for warfare against Christians, and lives out these doctrines today in ongoing jihad warfare against Christians in Africa and the Middle East. His “historic gesture” at the mosque was in line with many gestures of the Pope, who has made it his priority to see the Catholic Church partner with Islam in efforts toward achieving “world peace.”
“Historic gesture: Catholic priest Michael Knaus prays from the roof of the Hechingen mosque,” translated from “Historische Geste: Der katholischer Pfarrer Michael Knaus betet vom Dach der Hechinger Moschee,” by Hardy Kromer, Zollern Alb Kurier, May 8, 2020:
For the first time in the city of Zoller, a Christian priest publicly prayed from the canopy of a mosque of the Muslim community.
The second public Friday prayer of the Hechingen Muslim Community took place yesterday, peacefully and without public controversy. The AfD, which had demonstrated with a crucifix and German flags a week ago on Gammertinger Strasse, canceled a new rally in advance.
50 Muslims and a few Christians
Around 50 Muslims and a few Christian onlookers witnessed a historic moment this time: For the first time since Islam became part of Hechingen, a Christian pastor prayed publicly with the Imam, the prayer leader of the Muslim community. Michael Knaus, the pastor of the Catholic parish of Hechingen, climbed onto the canopy of the Suleymaniye Mosque on Gammertinger Strasse.“It hurt me so much”
Knaus explained how this came about: last Sunday, the Catholic priest criticized the protests against the Muslim Friday prayer in his video service in the St. Luzen Church. “It hurt me,” said Knaus, “to see that Muslims should be prevented from praying. And I said that I find it shameful.” That caused “violent reactions, even from Catholics”. A priest could not behave like this, he was told.Peaceful coexistence is important
But Knaus remained persistent: “It is simply about the peaceful coexistence of denominations and religions.” And that is why he gladly accepted the invitation from Baykan Akdogan, the dialogue officer of the Muslim community, to say a prayer for peace.Brother of all people
And so Pastor Knaus said from the canopy of the mosque: “Lord, I came here as a brother of all people who were created in your image.” True to a prayer text from 1913, he asked God: “Make me an instrument of your peace, that where there is hatred, that I would love; that where one is offended, I would forgive; that where there is conflict, I would reconcile.”Peace message on May 8
Appropriate words in these days of crisis, in which new ways of dialogue are sought in a variety of ways; this is certainly a fitting message of peace on May 8, the 75th anniversary of the end of the war and the liberation of Germany from the Nazi dictatorship.O Allah, protect all people
Adnan Bürkev, the chairman of the Hechingen Muslim Community, was also pleased with the words of reconciliation that Pastor Knaus said: “It was great. It has to be that way. We have to stick together in Hechingen. We all pray to God. That’s all.” To God, which means Allah for the Muslims, the imam of the community, Ahmed Gezer, had previously called upon in the usual manner before Tuba Sekerci, the community’s commissioner for religion, renewed the prayer for peace from the previous week in German: “O Allah, protect everyone in Hechingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and all over the world from the pandemic we are experiencing. “
The third edition will follow next Friday at 1.30 p.m. Then the Muslims are expecting a guest from the Protestant community.

“a Christian pastor prayed publicly with the Imam,”……This is an untrue statement, a lying claim.
No Christian would do what this fool and idiot for islam has done. And their “prayers” are not heard by the True God, the One Whom the “pastor” claims to serve and worship. Jehovah did not “hear” it, and will not answer.
Isaiah 57:21 “There is no peace, my God has said, for the wicked.”
eddie says
The Christian pastor is a fool, but how do you know your version of God does not hear the prayers?
If God does exist, you cannot possibly know what prayers he hears.
keith O says
Agreed!
somehistory says
The same way that I know the other Commandments of God: The Bible says He does not hear the prayers of the wicked. It clearly says that He turns away, and refuses to “hear” them, even though they “say many prayers.”
What difference does it make to you, anyway, eddie, since you don’t believe in God and mock those who do? You set yourself up as some sort of atheist judge of others. But since you don’t “believe” in the Almighty Judge, this is my only comment to you on this topic.
“By their fruits, you will recognize them.”
eddie says
“By their fruits, you will recognize them.”
The Great American Awakening was brought about by Bible believing evangelicals George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards.
Both men advocated slavery and owned slaves.
Plenty of evangelicals with ‘Jesus in their heart’ have produced ROTTEN fruit.
gravenimage says
Many of the abolitionists were devout Christians, who cited the Bible.
“eddie” hopes no one knows that, though.
It is the West that abolished slavery. Islam has never done so.
gravenimage says
I doubt this pastor is actually wicked–he is more of a naive fool.
somehistory says
He is trying to mix his version of Christianity with the evil…wicked…islam.
Revelation gives the command, “Get out of her, my people, if you do not wish to share with her in her sins and receive part of her plagues.”
This “pastor” should know what the Bible says about partaking at the “table of demons,” for those who wish to “partake from the table of the Lord.” At the very least, his “fruit” is rotten.. He is , at the very least, spiritually sick. And communing with those who hate Jesus is not the way to get well.
gravenimage says
Somehistory, he *should* know this about Islam–I doubt that he does, though.

Being a shepherd of the flock that belongs to God, is a heavy responsibility. Jesus said that to “the one given more, more will be asked from him.” He gave the illustration of the king who was going away and had his servants come in. He gave each of them money with which to do “business” until “He returned.”
He also told of how each servant used the money and the “reward” each received. He is the King Who “went away,” but will “return” and will call each “servant” of His to “reward” each for how His “money”…really, spiritual things…was used to further the interests of God’s Kingdom.
Any guy who takes on the position of “pastor” or “priest” should know the Bible. They should be able to use it to discern what should be and what should not be. They should be able to use it to answer questions from members of “the flock.”
I have never read the filthy book of islam and never will. I have never read the writings that support and encourage nazisim, nor any books on satanism. I will not read such.
But, I have read the Bible and know what it says about “mixing” in with those who do evil, immoral, ungodly things and “teach” them to others. One does not need to be the smartest person on the planet to see that the actions and words of moslims are in total opposition to the Bible; that the fake ‘god’ of islam is satan, that the fake ‘prophet’ of islam is straight from satan and that the filthy book he supposedly wrote is just that…filth and evil from the devil.
The average person cannot afford to be uninformed. Jesus warned against falling “asleep” and admonished His followers to “keep awake.”
Any preacher, pastor or “priest” who neglects to learn what the Bible says…and not what some pope claims…will not be excused when the “King returns” to find out what His servants have been doing.
If a man cannot know enough about the Bible to avoid doing what this “pastor” did, he shouldn’t be a “pastor.” He is misleading members of the “flock” who look to him for help.
And, BTW, in the Law to the Nation of Israel, there was a provision where a man could sell himself into slavery to another in order to get out of dept and not lose his inheritance. This would only last seven years and then he would be free again.
This was a great help to those people when things weren’t going so well financially.
In the Apostle Paul’s writing to Christians, he gave admonition to “slaves” and to “slaveowners.” Evidently, there were Christians who fit both descriptions back then. And, yes, I know that this practice was much different from the “slavery” that Christians helped to end in more recent times. But, it just goes to show that people like eddie try to use what little knowledge they have of the Bible to defeat the purpose of having that knowledge, to defeat the purpose of reading and studying about what God expects from His earthly, human, children. “A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.”
If that knowledge is used correctly, ti will not be “dangerous” at all.
gravenimage says
Somehistory, I very much agree that all Christian clerics *should* know this–but I also know that many do not.
E T says
Surely this man should know 5:17. “Christians —believers in the divinity of Christ— are unbelievers”.
8:12 “Allah will terrorize unbelievers; Muslims should behead them”.
8:39. “Fight the unbelievers until Islam reigns supreme”.
The ”naive” fool should get another day job, he is a failure at his present one. He is a collaborator. I am so tired of all the excuses —he has turned his back on God.
Rufolino says
The stunning ignorance of this blatant fool !
How ridiculous to read prayers off a roof ! But naturally Moslems would never, ever allow an infidel to defile their holy space inside the mosque.
FYI says
If the pastor tried to do that in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan..he’d be hanging FROM the roof.
muslims consider it a great triumph when they are allowed into churches to say their “prayers”:but notice how infidels are not allowed to say their prayers inside a mosque.Dhimmi christians {like leftists and western feminists} are great tools for muslims to use.
Niemoller says
The one-way sermonizing of Islamists from Christian pulpits came too obsequiously obvious for Christian clergy to continue ignoring, so to further the cause of jihad, Islamists allowed a Christian on the roof of a mosque to say something nice about Islam. No doubt many willfully ignorant dhimmis will go along with this ploy.
eduardo odraude says
We have to understand that in effect the Islamic world in effect holds as hostages millions of members of the Catholic Church and millions of other Christians. This certainly influences the tone the Catholic Church established toward Islam. This “hostage holding” need not be explicit. If Islam or Muhammad are publicly criticized, the Islamic ethos inculcated over centuries in the Muslim-majority world gins up Islamic mobs against Christians who will be kidnapped, forced to convert, raped, murdered, or oppressed in other ways, for example by being increasingly restricted to low status work (street sweepers, sewer cleaners, etc.). Thus the Catholic Church’s appeasement of Islam is understandable, if short-sighted and self-destructive. The central figure of the New Testament is depicted telling home truths very bluntly, not appeasing. He is not depicted as seeking above all to protect his disciples from having to suffer earthly evils. Far from it. He is shown telling them to expect to be persecuted, and to consider themselves blessed if they are persecuted for his sake. So the Catholic Church should find kind and loving ways to tell Muslims the difficult truth about Islam.

eduardo odraude,

Truly, this is the age of the cowardly, judas priesthood ,headed by that marxist jesuit defender of islam, that globalist-sponsored NWO wonder in Rome,Mr Bergoglio {or OK,”pope” francis to those who would prefer not to see what he actually is},a man far more concerned about the environment than with the plight of persecuted Christians.
The koran CURSES Christians for believing in Jesus Christ {koran 9:30}
The koran says Christians {and Jews}are ” the WORST of created beings” {koran 98:6}
islam missed the Golden Rule, the Holy Spirit, the 2 chief commandments and has at its rotten perverted core,a doctrine of HATE{al walaa wal baraa},a pervert of a “prophet” who even admitted to being a fraud{al tabari 6:111} and a plagiarized ‘holy’ book, a book that gives permission to do all kinds of evil.
father knaus makes judas iscariot look innocent.
“Peaceful coexistence”:the idiot priest obviously never read the koran.
So now we have muslims being assisted by such smiley Christ-betraying catholic’clergymen’ like knaus to promote their perverse religious cult,a religion whose god allah has as his enemy a man called the..King of Kings{Sahih muslim vol 5 hadith #5611}..which makes islam antiChrist and knaus is happy, like judas iscariot to go along with such a betrayal.

True
rubiconcrest says
The priest apparently did not use the opportunity to full advantage. Anytime clergy can teach Muslims about the bible and Jesus they are doing a good thing because Muslims never hear it. He should encourage them to attend a church and read the bible.
Goofy says
We have no reason to doubt that the Imam as well as the Roman Catholic priest were sincere. If they were we know for a fact that the Imam is ignorant about his Koran and the priest is not Christian. Is this the ideal model for peaceful interreligious coexistence which the pope is working for and what does that have in common with the Gospel?
gravenimage says
The story doesn’t say that the Imam was praying for peace, Goofy.

I am Catholic, half of my family is Greek Orthodox.
This show is Nothing more than symbolic “crapism”.
The Sharia is a sociopolitical-legal doctrine with a religious veil.
It entails a global vision with Specific codes: a civic code, an economic code, a penal code, etc.
It’s military strategy is called “Jihad”.
It views non Muslims as Dhimmis. They are subjected to a well defined set of laws known as “ laws of dhimmitude”.
Dhimmitude is a dogma that covers not only non-Muslims Living in Islamic states, but also a global view of Christians and Jews anywhere. Dhimmitude is not a problem of the Middle East and some countries in Asia, With immigration, it is a growing problem in Europe and America. If not dealt with today, it will EXPLODE tomorrow.
Dhimmitude is not only the foundation of Islamic supremacy , it is also the bed rock of Islamic militarism and Jihad.
The abolition of Dhimmitude is the key to abolish Islamic supremacy and Islamic militarism.
The lessons of History are crucial. Islam will never be defeated in the battle field, unless another Hiroshima is anticipated.
Islamic defeat must be an ideological defeat, one that start with abolition of laws of dhimmitude and does NOT end with adoption of Human rights standard in Islamic states.
A battle that will end by the return of The Great monuments Islamic has stolen from Christians and Jews: the Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople and the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
CogitoErgoSum says
I have mixed feelings about this. If the priest is bringing the words of Christ to the Muslims then I don’t have a problem. But if by his prayers the priest is validating the beliefs of Islam, then he is definitely doing more harm than good. Here is a link to something I found concerning Catholics praying with non-Catholics.
https://www.catholicdoors.com/faq/1000/qu1207.htm
I note that St. Alphonsis Liguori, a Doctor of the Church, said, ‘It is not permitted to be present at the sacred rites of infidels and heretics in such a way that you would be judged to be in communion with them.’ It sounds as if the whole point of this priest praying at a mosque was to show his being in communion with the imam and other Muslims. If that really was the point then the superior above Pastor Knaus should have a long discussion with him to inform him about avoiding this possible error in the future.
Wellington says
The minaret in the photo looks like a missile. Quite fitting.
Take heed all Christians because Islam will not treat with you as equals. Never has. Never will.
Supine Christians actually betray their faith. Christianity is no more a suicide pact than is the American Constitution. Even Jesus got annoyed or angry at times (for good reason). Christians should be annoyed and angry with what Islam has to say about Christianity.
This particular Catholic priest is a fool and does Christianity no credit. Pathetic.
Charlie says
Has anyone he been beheaded yet? I think I’ll try that and take my .338 with me, just in case!:-)
tim gallagher says
From what I know about vicious, supremacist and mass murderous islam, this is a complete waste of time by this priest. The Muslims would merely see it as a surrender, a sign of weakness and they’d be having an evil laugh at the naïve priest. As a Christian, I get that Christianity does try to reach out to all people, but I prefer the realistic outlook of some those church leaders mentioned in Robert Spencer’s “The History of Jihad”, who just saw Islam for the satanically evil thing that it is and would never have caved in the way this priest is doing. I suspect that this priest is one of many people who know absolutely bugger all about the nature of Islam. Probably thinks Islam is peaceful, etc. It’s not he way to deal with Islam.

Before this fellow continues he may want to consider what I found in the desert scriptures that caused me to close their books forever.
While reading the story of Moses and the burning bush, their book says that when Moses asked who should he tell people He is, the burning bush says “I am Allah”. Such plagiarism and outright lying disgusted me enough to close the books forever. Moses lived around 1300BC. Did anyone even know the name Allah, even as referring to the big rock idol in Mecca?
For me this ended the whole thing. Everything since then has just confirmed the wall-to-wall nonsense. The delusion con of being in line from Abraham would require that one accepts that God is a scatterbrain, changing His mind about murder and theft. Thou shalt not, well on second thought, kill everyone. I was wrong. Sorry, dudes.

You are right, Dude–the “Allah” of Islam has almost nothing morally in common with the God of the Bible.

Why is it always the Christians and the Jews who extend the olive branch? When do we get to see the imam preaching from the roof of a synagogue or cathedral?
Giacomo Latta says
I wonder if Knaus’s prayer contained the phrase ‘I pray to thee, Dear God’ and was spoken in the face of the imam. Did the latter’s face turn beet red? It should have. Only those who think they are closer to God than others openly speak directly to God. It is the same when people tell me ”I’ll pray for you.” It is really meant as an insult by showing me that they are closer to God than I am. I hope Knaus got the same treatment with a ‘I beseech thee, Dear Allah’. The dumb ass deserves it.
gravenimage says
With all respect, Giacomo, most people who say they will pray for you mean well, and are not trying to insult you. Most would be happy if you also offered to pray for them if they were ill or in difficulty.
OLD GUY says
It’s kind of interesting reading that Allah will not hear the prayers of the wicked, that would mean that a whole lot of muslim men are in deep trouble with their wicked ways. Let’s see rape, child molestation, murder, drinking, infidelity and terrorism seem vary wicked. I’am trying to think of something positive and good about Islam, but all I can come up with is negative.
Giacomo Latta says
The koran is full of does and don’ts but no necessity to cease and desist is included because its author wants you to get involved in jihad. One ”good” act performed during jihad wipes the slate clean. You are now without sin.
