Joe Biden Revealed

Sen. Biden is clearly the most-qualifed person on either the Democratic or Republican ticket. Although I would have preferred that he was the Presidential nominee, I am pleased that Sen. Obama realized what Biden could add to his administration. All one needs to know to decide between Obama and McCain is to compare the qualifications of the people they chose to be their VP – BIden was a terrific choice and, despite all the Republican bluster (and lies), Palin is a joke. If your intelligence is not insulted by McCain's choice, you need to get your head out of the sand!

You got the better assignment Sarah Palin could be summed up in about 4 minutes...

A light should spark on his achievements. Media coverage is been drawn toward Palin not really because she's accomplished anything to my knowledge but because of her "historic" stance as a female vice-presidential candidate.

Biden brings both foreign and domestic policy experience with him–much more than even Hillary had, and Biden grew up in a hard-working, white middle-class area and school system and he represents "middle-America" best and in comparison to Palin, even more so! Biden is also not afraid to answer hard-nosed questions the media likes to feed him; unlike the easy non-sense questions they feed Palin, then only to not get the question answered, or she is olivious to the answer like when she was asked her opinion of the Bush Doctrine.

Biden was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and still to this day, takes the Amtrak train home from Washington to Wilmington, DE.

Obama was constantly scrutinized the last year and half for not having any experience on his ticket, and he chooses a guy who is qualified in any aspect that Obama was lacking in.

Joe's comment that 'Hillary may have been a better choice than himself' sums up the 2008 Presidential race. Such poor judgement will continue to paralyze the dems chances for success.

Joe Biden is a good husband, a good father and accomplished Senator. Had he been the interviewed by Gibson or any other journalist, he could answer questions with depth and intelligence. None of the material would be new to him...not even the Bush pre-emptive strike policy . I genuinely like him.

McCain just chose Sarah (after a few short meetings) thinking that most women would vote for him because he picked a woman Vice President. Well, I take exception to that because I, for one, believe that most women do not pick their candidates based on their gender but instead base their vote on the issues. She would be great for the economy, considering she cut spending by half a billion, and just think what she could do on a large scale, and no she didn't cut spending for handicap, she actually tripled it. The fact that Obama picked Biden over Hillary for VP shows that Obama cares more for the much needed foreign policy experience of the VP than his or her 'advertisement' potential. Obama is a responsible man, not a McCain.

I believe that the media should spend more time covering the issues rather than the personalities,. Our health care system, our Banking system, our energy program, our social security system, our home owners market, our tax system and careing for the poor and middle class. Not only is your comment race-biased obviously, but those who are unclear on what a candidates accomplishments are ( as in Biden ), should just stay home in November. Biden is well-known for the lowest crime rates the US attained in the 90's in the Clinton admin when he proposed, and was vocal on, the increased police force on our streets. Joe has led a very interesting life and there is alot about him that people don't know. He was a young father who had to raise two little boys on his own after his wife and daughter were killed in an accident. He also had to bounce back from two near fatal brain aneurysms. He never got rich off of being in politics. Palin may have gotten lots of attention so far but that will change. Her interview with Charlie Gibson showed her to be an inexperienced deer in headlights. Joe has so much more experience between dealing with wars in Kosovo to Iraq. He was the much better choice and is not some flash in the pan.

Joe Biden is a true reformer: the various legislation he has helped pass into law (e.g. VAWA, etc.) have proven time and again that he can work with both sides in getting important things done in D.C.

Biden has always been a champion of the average working person and his support of labor and working families stands in stark contrast to that of elitist McCain and Sarah Palin. Biden is not by any means a wealthy politician and I know he will help Sen. Obama get things back on track in our nation.

In addition to the aforementioned, Biden has an understanding of foreign policy that makes McCain look like a lightweight. There is no comparison between them. Biden wins handily on the issue of experience.

As a resident of Philadelphia PA Joe Biden is nearly cosidered to be PA senator, after all he is a Catholic guy from Scranton PA. I think very highly of him for his determination, knowledge and charater. People will see through your documentary that he is really one of us. I had one of those rare experiences to be sitting near him on an Amtrak train from Washington. He does know every conductor by their first name.

The nearly complete absence of coverage of Joe Biden on CNN has been an outrage. Tonight's documentary doesn't really remedy the absurdly unequal attention you've given him to date, compared to Sarah Pailin. Moreover, your newscasts always seem to lead with a presentation of the latest McCain ad and reaction to it. What is going on here???

I'm glad to hear this documentary will be available. I'm getting so sick of the bickering back and forth and how it effects the media coverage and ultimately public opinion. There are so many serious issues that need to be discussed and explained to voters before this election. I think well thought out, in depth reports about the candidates is exactly what we need.
As for more biased opinions, I am eager to hear about Biden because so little is out there about him. I am not a real fan of policy from the other side, but to be fair I think some concrete, unbiased reports of Palin should be done as well as this piece on Biden. I may not agree with her policies (from what I've heard so far) but the vast majority of what is reported has little to do with their plans if elected. I have watched and followed politics since , before President Kennedy was assassinated during my 4th grade. I watched conventions on a black and white TV. I voted for Hillary and I still think she will be a driving force in American politics for years to come.
I have tried to find out as much as I can about Obama and Biden and I believe their ideas have the best chance of giving America what it has been missing for the last 8 years.
1. Respect and a leadership role in the global community.
2. Returning our economy and budget to where it was in 2000.
3. I want my children and their children to know what it like to have a quality education.
4. I would to see myself and my fellow Americans enjoy decent paying jobs and be able to walk with our heads held high.
5. I don't mind paying taxes if it is for the greater good.

Look the way Obama paid tribute at Ground Zero by throwing "flower", someone must have told him that was a sacred place to many, and its a "tribute" to those who died 7 years ago, it was not Rezko's club.

I was excited myself when Obama picked Biden to be his running mate. I was excited until I started remembering what a loose cannon he is, and I don't want him in office. I took it further and did alot of research. He is as partisan as they come, and has been in Washington for over 30 years. Mc Cain has a history of reaching across the aisle to get stuff accomplished. Palin has done the same thing on a smaller scale, but that doesn't disqualify her from being able to take on Washington, and do stuff on a national level. The message from Obama is old and worn out for me. His message is old and worn out. I just don't care what he says anymore.

I've heard Joe Biden speak about politics and his family. When he speaks about his family, he tends to ramble, but in a very loving and emotional kind of way. I really like that about him. And when Biden speaks about politics, I get a feeling that he cares about me and my issues even though we've never met. I believe I understand why Obama chose Biden as his running mate. Biden is me, the average Joe, except with the power to make his voice heard.

It will be good to see an in-depth look and interview with Senator Joe Biden. The release of his tax records and his overall senatorial record has shown that he is ready to be a vice-president. Just the fact that people know him simply as Joe shows you his roots as a man of the people. He says exactly what he thinks and is the most honest politician in Washington. He is extremely knowledgeable about foreign affairs and can relate to the numerous problems that we are having in this country, including lack of health care for all, the loss of jobs to companies that build their plants overseas, the continued loss of 10 Billion dollars a day in Iraq while the Muslim fanatics regroup in Afganistan, and the fact that we are falling behind other countries in new ideas, including a real plan to become energy independent. Biden, Obama, and McCain started their campaign for President more than 2 years ago. They've been working and going through the challenges for a long time. For information on Joe Biden, read his book "Promises to Keep". I am currently reading it. I am so impressed with him as a person. He is a man who defines integrity. The book is straight from his heart. Unlike John McCain who constantly tells everyone about his being a POW, Joe Biden does not go into detail about the tragedy with his first wife and child. The book does show you just what kind of person he is and what kind of people his family are. His family says "If you have to ask, it's too late". They jump in and help. Joe Biden is a man who sincerely desires to help people.

Maybe we will learn about the plagiarism in Biden's first presidential run, or was it the second, or third I don't remember which. Iknow it wasn't the last, because he actually got 9000 votes before dropping out of the race. On the plus side, his son Hunter resigned his lobbyist position while his dad is running for vice-president. And to be fair, I know having a son who has been a Washington lobbyist, to the Senate, for the last 7 years is not near the conflict of interest that having an unmarried 17 year old daughter is. On foreign policy, his so-called expertise, he voted for the war, then declared the war lost, then demanded the USA run away by October 1 of this year, then came up with a plan that would split Iraq into three seperate ethnic regions, all the while loudly proclaming that the surge was an absolute failure. EXPERTISE? With this expertise we just as well buy al-qaeda new airplanes with his and Obama's tax increase.

Biden was NOT a poor choice. Hillary's tough, but had Obama chosen her, he would've been accused of making the choice just to win, particularly given how negative she went on him during the primary. Biden will make it happen. He knows his stuff and is a good man.

I hope he agrees to have nothing off limits, like Palin did with Gibson. If anything less, I'd be disapointed. Nonetheless it will be an interesting documentary to watch. Also, in terms of lies, I think Palin has the most being spread about her right now. Whether that be leaks from Obama campaign or not, they need to be corrected (as with the ones about Obama). Many are even mentioned on this board as fact, they are not and CNN has indeed disproved the book one.

Obama's choice of Biden is extremely revealing: He wants a colleague who brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. He wants a colleague who is not afraid to challenge him on his positions. He wants a colleague who truly has the middle-class's best interests at heart.

Obama's choice of Joe Biden shows him to be a forward-thinking, intellectually-hungry, agent of change–change from the shoot-from-the-hip, crony-favoring, short-sighted President who has been in office for the past 8 years.

McCain on the other hand....well let's just say that McCain's choice of Palin is extremely revealing as well....

I hope you include his face to face conversation with Slobodan Milosevic when he looked him in the eye and said, "I think you are a damn war criminal." That was the beginning of the end for Milosevic.

I think Biden said it right: Hillary would be a better choice. Obama couldn't even pick a good running mate. How can he run this country??? And why is everybody picking on Palin? I wasn't registered to vote but this is making me do so. I hope more people wake up, women especially.

Governor Palin has eight years of executive experience, BIDEN HAS NONE. Palin has supervised people and departments, submitted budgets, created policies and governed people. BIDEN HAS NOT. Biden used someone else's speech as his own, made a fool out of himself time after time (telling a parapalegic to stand up; making fun of Indian-Americans; ect), used his wife and daughter's tragic death for his own political purposes. Palin is far more qualified to be NUMBER 2 than Biden.

As always, how revealing to see between obama and biden they give $2500 to charity in 2006!! Liberals love to give "our money" but they won't give their own. For all the talk about how they care for the disenfranchised when it comes to their own pocketbooks they really show they do not care at all. How could we possibly elect two people who by their tax returns show they are so selfish they can't afford to give the needy any of their money. In that same year on a much smaller salary my family alone gave almost $20,000 to different charities, I not mean it bragging, its what we all should do. What does it say about your management skills when you have been making all that money for over 30 years as biden has and his estate is worth $150,000, you have to try hard to not be worth more than that making what he makes. The media attacks on Palin and her family have been particularly bitter. Especially since some it has been vectored towards Bristol Palin. A truly devious tactic indeed.

I have noticed that Senator Obama and Sen. Biden are what I call "fair weather" politicians. When they are ahead in the polls, they behave with class but also with an arrogant sense of entitlement. They behave as if the election is theirs by birthright and nobody could question that. But when the polls start to go against them, the attitude changes inmediately. They start to shoot "from the hip", not prepared for a dip in the polls. Slander becomes the new tactic and a sense of incredulity runs thru their campaign. "How can this happen?", they ask. "The election was supposed to be the official seal of our coronation!". Sarah Palin, even if you don't like her, has accomplished something very important. She has shown the democrats that they are entitled to nothing, no matter how bad things may be. Got it?

Biden was a mistake. Dems keep shooting themselves in the foot one after another. With no-talent, no-leadership potential, lobby-controlled people like Biden, they cannot win the election. We're in the middle of a two wars. We don't need people who have never served their country in uniform to call the shots. You saw what happened with Rumsfeld and his ilk. We need true veterans and patriots. I personally would have liked to see Powell and McCain team up. I don't know much about Palin, but I suppose we'll soon find out. Biden is no mystery. The guy was caught stealing another guy's lines and bio, and still managed to stay in office. Some people have no shame or compunction. It's people like him that give the politics a bad name.

we have this election? We've got an inexperienced Obama

When I look at it, Palin the VP choice, is the only one with any
sort of Executive experience and she's getting raked over the
"NEWS MEDIA" coals. I knew nothing about her, but she's

Forget your political party and look at what is happening in this
world today and make an intelligent choice whatever that is for you.

Mccain is not fit for president role in America. He is not change. He cannot reform as "Old dog cannot learn new tricks", not literally with all due respect to him. His pick of Palin shows how opportunistic he is about his political career, sure not for the best of the country. If truly "country first", he would have Palin come into public eyes long before so that she can be examed thouroughly. Palin effect is just a distraction from talking about the real issues. Joe Biden has been a good life long senator. He also has his baggage…He was a good strategic political pick for Obama who is lacking in the experience category that Joe Biden balances nicely. I am a life long republican who supported Obama in the primary but have since decided that I will go back and vote republican as I don’t feel the same way about Obam since the Reverend Wright story came out. (His lack of honesty in his response to the story is what is at issue for me) I think there is a lot of baggage each side may bring up and it is silly to me when I read these comments. There is mud to sling on both sides.

CNN and MSNBC are embedded in the Obama campaign. I miss Tim Russert as he tried to be balanced in his questioning and reporting. I miss his style of journalism.

assessed Obama and Hillary Clinton: "The more people learn about them (Obama

Sounds like from reading many of the comments here that the Obamaites are reading from the same script trying to convince us all that they're excited to learn about Mr. Biden. Do they not have enough wherewithall to research and find out for themselves rather than to take the media's twisted word on what their views are of the man. Come on people! Grow a backbone and learn for yourself. The media & the Obama camp will only will tell you what THEY want you to know. When I read what people have written and try to feel their 'so called' enthusiam, it makes me feel like I'm viewing a commerical on television with very poor actors trying to convince me to buy a product that they'd never use a day in their life.

Sarah Palin did not give an interview for this piece. Other than the Gibson interview and limited appearances doubt we'll see much of her since she is only able to repeat the same lines over and over and she can't think on her feet. She only knows the answers she has rehearsed and practiced covering her up for her lack of experience.
For a woman she adheres to the "ole boy network" in her state which she will carry into Washington same as Bush. See the in depth article in the NY Times "Once Elected, Palin hired Friends, Fired Foes." I guess we'll end up with other unqualified appointies like FEMA director during Katrina "heck of a job Brownie". Oh yeah, and she declined the interview with the NY Times also.

I am really looking forward to Joe Biden's documentary. I got a taste of what he was like from the DNC convention and a stump speech he gave last week and I really like him. I seems very kind hearted and passionate about changing the state of this country. I love how he is with his family. I am watching Sarah Palin's story now and unfortunately I am not getting much out of it.

Biden was actually very honest in his response that Hillary may have been a better VP choice. Some say that signifies poor judgment on the part of Obama in choosing Biden over Palin. However, Barack's choice demonstrates sound judgment in that while he would have been wise to choose Hillary to win the election easily, he would have endured a complex and perhaps counterproductive tenure with Bill and Hillary in the mix. While winning with Biden may be more of a challenge, the White House will be more functional and better for everyone.

Never having missed a vote in any election since voting for Harry Truman in 1948, and never voting strict party lines.I think Joe Biden was the best nominee in either party and am extremely happy he was chosen as the Dem running mate.McCain is an honorable person but Lord help us in this chaotic world if he does not last his term. Biden will help Obama with his foreign policy experience, and Obama will be a 190 degree turn in all facets of government with what has been the worst administration in this countriy's history.

5-We have to double check what the media reports and we definitely have to challange them for the truth and hold the US representatives ACCOUNTABLE. The candidates for president are telling you soooooo many things they will do for America but what they are saying is far more power than they will ever have. The REFORM we need is in the Captial building. In deed, the president has power, certainly don't mean to minimize or mislead that point.

6- We need term limits. Two terms for congress and one term for senators. After one term, they can run again. It's time, it's time WE THE PEOPLE take back our country.

Everyone keeps talking about how 'qualified' Sen. Biden is for a top leadership position. He is a career politician who never held a real job. He never actually 'ran' anything in his life. How is that qualified?

McCain is a decorated military officer, and Palin has years of experience running a business, a town and a state. At least they have experience actually doing something instead of just talking.

Too bad Biden wasn't on the top of the ticket. That bigoted church thing was too much for me.

Ya, really 60 Year Old, I wish the rest of the country thougth the same way. I've been into politics as far back as the 70's and I think this is one of the most important elections since. To bad the media is all one sided with what the real truth is. I guess people are too busy playing computer games that to know what the real issues are. Country first, believe in our leader even in tough times, support all of our men and wemon in the armed services. Once the world understands that we are all united then they will look BETTER at the U.S., and not so much who is sitting in the Oval Office.

Rumor has it, that now with Sarah Palin in the spotlight, Biden's media following is a "skeleton crew" of 6 or so reporters following him on the trail.

While the republicans are avoiding talking to the media and "releasing information on their own timetables," Joe is completely open to talking to the media at any time on the trail. Clearly nothing to hide.

Talk about transpirency of government.

I was very excited about Sarah Palin when she was first announced, and after her speech. And then Senator McCain's campaigning and ads became so nasty. And then the trickle of Mrs. Palin's faults started to flow into a stream. I think I want to hear more about Biden because I don't know much about him. Even though I am a Republican, I think Senator Obama is a decent man. He has been running a clean campaign. To my deep disappointment McCain has not. I would like to learn more about Biden, because I, like many of my friends are beginning to doubt this Republican ticket.

There is a sense of security in the years of experience a Joe Biden vice-presidency brings to the equation.

The possibility of a 72-year old McCain with a history of cancer leaving neophyte Palin in the position is commander-in-chief is personally terrifying.

It was foolhardy of Sarah Palin not to have hesitated in her response that she is prepared to lead this country during the Gibson interview. For even the most seasoned of statesmen would given have pause to consider the magnitude of responsibility for human life inherent in the sacred trust that this position holds.

This lack of "pause" is a clear indication of a level of ignorance and blatant disregard for human life that in national politics is both reckless and dangerous! There is too much going on in the current political climate to entrust humanity to the likes of a warmongering John McCain who, at his age has nothing to lose or to a mother turned small town governor attempting to live out a Political Cinderella Story.

Though Sarah Palin may be an excellent governor of small Alaska, and I actually agree with some of her positions, my sense is that she is fully aware she IS NOT QUALIFIED for the level of political office to which she is aspiring. However, the fact that partisan politics and ego / testrostrone trumps integrity and honesty is what is so appalling about this deception!

She read the script provided her for the RNC very well and even took ownership of the rhetoric. However, given the limitations of her exposure as a player on the international political scene, it is all too obvious that her persona is a creation of the imagination of Republican handlers who are "pimping" her femaleness to the end of electing John McCain to the presidency. However, there is too much at stake!

I believe all four candidates are honorable. And I am not going to tell anyone how to vote. In the end, the electorate votes and the result is the government we deserve. If we choose to hide our collective head in the sand and not face the new realities of today, if we are unwilling to sacrifice and work together to help get through our economic vulnerabilities, so be it.

Biden brings a wealth of experience. Obama brings vision, leadership an intelligence. McCain seems reasonable but lacks much vision to get us out of this economic mess we are in. Palin is simply a parochial-minded person, who is governor of a state with a population less than a million and will need to go through a very sharp learning curve to manage a nation of over 300 million, which has suffered loss of allies and assets while Russia and China swim in wealth and pose a huge threat.

We have to face the facts: the popular mantra "cut taxes and tackle the deficit by cutting the budget " is ludicrous in today's reality. Anyone who knows about how badly this government is in debt and how bad the economy is becoming should guffaw over this. When the economy is shrinking as ours is, and the government has expanded so much since 9/11, you cannot lower taxes and deficit at the same time. How about all those financial institution bailouts? How about infrastructure? How about the need to protect our food supply, our borders, our ports? There is a lot the government has to do for our national security and we cannot cut that. Otherwise, things will get a lot worse before they get better.

I am personally offended by McCain's choice and the fact that his team is in the process of cleaning up her mess and putting a good face on someone so tainted and power hungry. She'd stab you in the eye
if you crossed her. Her husband is probably her *enforcer*. I am disgusted that McCain thinks so little of the USA that he would choose this woman. What a freakin laugh that she is ready on day one to be
VP. Only if they have a holding room in Area 51 for her.
Biden is a great choice for Obama. A sure win of course would of been Clinton. I like them both.

Please, everyone, try not to be distracted by all the noise about personalities, and think for a moment about the challenges that we must face together over the next few years: in the economic, aggressive, environmental, geopolitical and human dimensions.

With those in mind, what qualities must we look for in our leaders? And then, how close to that set of qualities does each of the tickets come?

Bidden may be more humble than Palin. Not sure if that's good or bad for the second in command.

If the Republicans are so concerned with national security, don't they understand that defending Sarah Palin and putting her in office is the biggest threat to national security that this nation has ever faced. In her interview with Gibson, it was as if she was a high school girl working with an interview coach. She is way dumb. This is not American Idol people! This is your life she is talking about screwing with! She will end up with all the security she needs and the BEST HEALTHCARE IN THE WORLD-She will simply laugh at you when you complain. And when you try to organize a grassroots or "community" campaign against her, then you will be looked down on as just a silly community organizer.

She was mayor of a town that's roughly 1/4 the size of a sold out MLB game. The entire state of Alaska is 1/2 the population size of the county I live in. Heck, I visited more foreign countries on my 2 week vacation to Europe that she's visited in her life. And she's qualified to be vice president how? It's great that she has family values, etc, but how could I elect someone, that I can't even imagine running a small company, to the huge responsibility run an entire nation, should an elderly cancer survivor would-be president not complete his term?

If America wants to become the Greatest Nation in the World again–then Joe Biden is your man. He knows and feels all of your pains–Palin, is such a phony. She doesn't know a thing about real politics. But, she can tell you that she can "see" Russia from Alaska. Wow, what "great" qualifications. McCain only chose Palin because he wanted all of Hilllary's votes. In a taped interview, when Hillary and Obama were still campaigning, Palln said that Hillary was such a "whiner." Didn't Phil Gramm say the same thing about us Americans? He is the one who McCain wants to govern his economic "plan." And, again, you want a real person, please vote Joe Biden. Voting for the other ticket is like having a "Trojan Horse" trying to break into the White House. I truly pray that America is smarter than that!

No matter though, as the 3 or 4 percent of the voters that liked him were able to look past his car salesman smile and annoyingly long winded style. He was chosen, of course, because Obama's foreign policy resume is thinner than Biden's hair-plugged scalp.
Biden, not wanting to look like a wuss, voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq - split it in 3 parts was his solution for that troubled country for during the primaries, which sounds somewhat like the European plan in the early 1900s, which of course was an excellent solution and led to peace and prosperity.
Once the media is able to usher in their longed-for anointed one - payback for the whole WMD snafu - at least there will be an adult in the White House to do the heavy lifting and hard thinking.

It's about time that Joe Bidan get some spotlight and public gets to see how qualified and better choice for VP is than Palin as VP for McCain. I can understand why Palin got so much media attention since she was not known. However, Joe Bidan needs a fair media coverage. Media may have know him for long time but not all public. I admit I didn't know much about him till he was tapped by Obama, but as one of a third of females in this country victimized by physical and sexual child abuse, I am greatly thankful for what I've learned about Biden and his fight for Violence Against Women (I also didn't know about Obama pushing to teach children about the dangers of sexual predators – so thanks for the education McCain, it made me like Obama more!). Ironically he's done more in his legacy for women's rights than either Hillary or Palin. Obama made the right choice for America even if he didn't make the right choice for The Inquirer or Ratings. I would love to hear what it was like to interview Biden, from what I can tell he's a stand up guy – and if plageriasm is the worst you can find then 90% of high school and college students should never run for president.

I am very RELIEVED to see there are still people in the media who respect what Journalism is suppose to be or for that matter – once was. I'm another Republican who is so disgusted with the way the Republicans are running this campaign that I am about to change my affiliation to Independent. It seems to me that the only reason such a negative campaign is being run is due to the lack of a comprehensive platform that will change the course of the US.

I'm also an American who lived outside the US for the last ten years just returning recently (was married to a Navy guy assigned to NATO). I can tell you categorically that I do not consider someone being able to look at Russia from their State as having foreign policy experience. I was horrified at some of Palin's answers on foreign policy. Then again, I think people who have not lived outside the US or had extensive interaction with people outside the US would really understand why US foreign policy is not working.

Each country has their own unique attitude and the attitude in the US that everyone should react to situations the way Americans do show an arrogance which, combined with the heavy-handed approach, has lost the US respect from other countries who used to be our allies. When I first moved overseas, during Clinton's term, people received me as an American in a welcoming friendly manner. That changed under Bush.

When it comes to foreign policy, even though Obama lacks the experience, I believe his basic instincts are good. The US should have finished the job in Afghanistan before tackling something else which has drained US resources.

However, not all is foreign policy. The Republicans have not shown me anything other than rhetoric and insults to my intelligence by trying to tell me how I should think. I now want to see what else, besides foreign policy, the Democrats have to offer. So far, I've liked what I have seen in terms of conducting themselves in a gentlemanly manner. I am also impressed, as was pointed out by another, with Biden's championing of those touched by domestic violence.

Once again in CNN fashion you are portraying negatives about the Democratic VP as opposed to anything suggestively negative about the self proclaimed 'hockey mom". Give me a break – you portrayal of Sarah Palin was Punk! I would like a CNN commentator to ask Obama one question, "..at what point in the 9 months of pregnancy is it not ok for a woman to terminate her pregnancy.." I bet he cant answer it. Pretty sick when he supports it in the 9th month.

As a woman who grew up in the western outdoors–with fishing, camping, and firearms, I simply cannot stomach Sarah Palin, no matter how much someone wants to cram her down my throat. It's painfully obvious to me, and anyone with eyes to see, that she is woefully underqualified to hold high office. She is a rube's rube. She's provincial, small minded, and she does not have the broad perspectives tempered by exposure to the world at large, or the ability–evidently–to discern that her total inappropriateness for the position. She doesn't even know what she doesn't know. McCain is 72 and out of ideas to fix this country. God help us if this country goes down the McCain path. I fear we will NEVER recover.

I'm confused, how are bike paths wastful? If people had a safe place to ride their bikes, perhaps more would use those to get back and forth to work as they do over in Europe than to use their cars. We didn't bother owning a car in the Netherlands due to the great bike lanes, good rail service that allowed you to take you bike with you and the sense of safety you have to the extent that I could take my 2 1/2 yo daughter on her own bike without worrying about her being too close to traffic.

Joe Biden is such a breath of fresh air after the last two weeks of Gov. Palin. He has actually served in a government position and knows his way around the White House. His knowledge of the world and the wars makes for a much safer Vice Presidential pick.

Sarah Palin wasn't 'hired' for her experience in foeign policy; McCain is pretty knowledgeable in that area. She is McCain's running mate because of her expertise in domestic energy production and policy, not to mention her administrative experience at the State, Municipal and Small Busines levels.

I just finished watching biden documentary. I am very impressed with his wok. He is a real fighter, who has extensive foriegn affairs experience. I salute obama for picking him as VP. A great pick. I feel very sorry for McCain who picked palin, who does not know even Bush doctrine..

My answer to my own questions:

We need leaders with the ability to keep focus on serious issues; to ignore distractions; to encourage us to stop behaving reprehensibly; and to admit their own failings.

As for the two tickets – on the one side, they are planning and assembling a leadership team; on the other, I fear they are reduced to parading a cunning stunt.

I do not think Biden should even be in politics after what he and Leady did during the Reagan admin.-Does anyone remember the US Senate Page inquiry. The above senators were part of the investigation-The only thing that got them out of it was Watergate. He also made some comments about people during the years that has come back to bite him-especially when most of them were lies. I just finished watching the documentary on Joe Biden and was disappointed to see that no achievements of his career during the 90's was mentioned.

One of Joe's greatest achievements during these years was being a major architect in the structuring of the Dayton Peace Accords, which keeps peace to this day. Most recently, Joe Biden proposed and passed a bill that would partition Iraq into three regions to promote peace and stability. This bill passed both the congress and senate with a large majority.

What an honest and genuine human being Joe Biden is . . . emphasis on the work HONEST . . . unlike John McCain and Sarah Palin.

A mountain of outright lies and distortions so glaring and obvious even the media has no choice but to suspend it's "let's be fair to both sides or the Republican bullies will accuse us of bias" submissiveness.

While as a conservative you may differ with Biden's politics here and there, the man has integrity and honor and he tells the truth.

Joe Biden is a good man. John McCain is not a good man.

Though known for his rages, stubbornness and tendencies to be a bully, he did have some semblance of honor. He's soiled his reputation in America's eyes forever, thrown it away. Even many Republican's are speaking out about how low and dishonest he's running his campaign.

I'm a woman, and I, just like many women out there, have values. I worry about the bills being paid, I worry about how I'm going to pay my college tuition. I shop at Sam's Club as much as the next person, but do you mean to tell me that just because McCain picked a woman as his VP that he's going to win the women's vote? No possible way; and not a lot of women share her views on policy...and what foreign policy? She didn't have the foggiest idea what Charles Gibson meant about the President's Doctrine! She's a Republican, and a Governor, and has been in this business for quite some time, (2 years but who's counting?) she should have known!

Newsflash lady: you listen to yourself when making these crucial decisions about who would be most complementary to you when picking a running mate. However during your “Biden Revealed” segment tonight, you failed to mention one positive thing Biden has done in his 35+ years in the Senate, nor did you even attempt to chronicle his foreign policy experience. Since the 1st time I saw Joe Biden on TV in a Senate hearing back in the mid- to late-70s, he has been a guy I wanted to see run for president. I am sorry I have never been able to vote for him as both attempts were derailed. Although I was a Hillary supporter (now for Obama 100%) who wanted to see her on the ticket , I am delighted to support a ticket with Joe Biden on it. He seems a decent man.

CNN, you could have been a little tougher on all of them, but I thought these programs were overall very good. Anyone who accuses your network of partisanship, just doesn't like how the facts play out for their candidate. Too bad, so sad.

I have been wondering one thing as a woman... how can a woman of 43 have her fifth child five months ago, and have such a slim stomach so soon? Mother nature is just not that good to any one of us. Not even the most trim and hard bodied of us, can possibly accomplish that at 43 yrs of age.

This does not add up for me at all.

I saw the documentary just a moment ago, right after Palin's. Where Palin shows a lack of heart, Joe's heart shined through and through. Sure there's controversy, but in comparison to the other VP nominee? Come on. Biden is wonderful and we'd be thoroughly blessed to have him beside Obama in office. I fully support this ticket.

I am an independent voter. I do not pay much attention about the personal lives of Mr. Obama, Biden, McCain, or Ms. Palin. If they were not good citizens they would not come this far to be presidential nominees. What do we understand about the meaning of the term ‘Democracy’ in a general sense? If president Bush screwed up in the last 8 years, who would be blamed first? Probably not him. U.S.A. is a democracy country, therefore citizens of the U.S.A. are the captains of the ship U.S.A. i.e. without people there would be no voters, without voters, there would be no president Bush. Isn’t it too late to blame anyone for what has been done to this country for the last 8 years? I think so, but they can always be corrected. It is time and also our chance to change and the change must be a totally new path or direction. It is our chance to change ourselves if we did vote for the wrong candidate in the past. It is our chance to change our thinking that lead to our decision as to why we voted for the wrong candidate in the past. Being stubborn is not strong. Stubbornness is nothing but ego-preservation, rather. Not hesitating to change is real strength. If we can change ourselves we can change anything including the future of this country.

Senator Biden has been terribly wrong on most foreign policy issues during the last thirty years–and he is supposed to be the foreign policy expert. Remember the Pershing II missile deployment under Reagan. How about the recent troop surge in Iraq? What about his strange idea about dividing Iraq into three federal states? Look up his votes during the '80s concerning Communism in Nicaragua and El Salvador, the so-called Nuclear Freeze, the B-2 Bomber, etc. In other words, those things that were eventually passed, despite his votes, and helped bring an end to the Cold War. No doubt on a personal level he is a good father and husband–maybe even a great guy to have a beer with–but just not VP ready. His run for the '08 party nomination in Iowa should put all doubt to rest. Best wishes on your retirement senator. Enjoy the grandchildren.

Interesting how you tsk-tskingly report at the end that Biden got $119 million in earmarks for Delaware. With a pop.of 853,000, that's about $140/per Delaware resident. On the other hand, the Palin bio announced proudly that she had "reformed" the pork/earmarks for Alaska, reducing it from $550 million her first year as governor to "only" $254 million last year. For a state with a pop. of 670,000, that's a reduction from $820/per Alaskan to a mere $379/per Alaskan. I gues that's better than her pork record in Wasilla with $27 million for 5000 people - $5,400 per resident. So much more fiscally conservative than Biden, and such a reformer!

I was extremely disappointed in both of these bios. I actually thought CNN did a pretty decent job with Obama and McCain, but this one and Palin's? Pretty poor.

I thought your piece was marvelous. Yes, he can be "long-winded." Yes, he is often blunt. Yes, made two very minor blunders for which he took responsibility. He's a straight arrow-a straight shooter.

I am a former Republican, now independant, and until the Roving stops, I will not vote for a Republican at the national level. I saw interviews with Sen Biden prior to his run for the Democratic Presidential nomination. It seems to me that Biden just wants to keep whatever national spotlight on him as long as he can. He has tried and failed twice running for POTUS. He admits Hillary is more qualified and should have been the VP pick. But he took it for the attention.

I was dissapointed with CNN tonight. Abbie, your report was fair but the problem is you were fair, whereas the interviewer for Palin was biased. I think it is unfortunate that an editor at CNN did not take the time to realize that one reporter was biased (palin's) and one was fair (Biden's) which set the stage for a comparrison that was not held on a level playing field. I had hoped the 2 reports would be like the 2 done with Obama and McCain -which seemed to have a consistent approach.

Some of the things I noticed:
Mentioned Palin's son going to Iraq (as the media often does) and yet no mention of Biden's son's service. Perhaps this is because Biden would find it unthinkable to hold his son's service up to the media as a way of showing his own patriotism.

When the ex mayor of Wasilla spoke, the interviewer negated all that he said with his comment that "it sounds like sour grapes."

There was a republican strategist (Alex C) in Biden's documentary who repeatedly dissed Biden. I don't recall seeing any democrat strategist in palin's documentary to counter the many quasi truths told. Why was that?

There was mention of how Palin put the plane up on Ebay but not of the money the state has spent on her family's and her own travel. Why not take the $41,000 on travel for her family + whatever is spent on her own travel and compare it with estimated travel costs had they just kept the plane? Then we could know if this was a cost savings for the state or simply a gimmick.

There was talk about the money Biden brought "home" to DE in earmarks and yes, there was of Palin too. However, to the average TV viewer that does not mean anything. Why not express it in per capita terms so we can really compare them. Then it would be clear who is taking home more bacon and it sure isn't Biden.

There was mention of troopergate but nothing about the fact that she is refusing to hand over 1100 emails claiming executive privilege. her husband – a private citizen -was copied on some of the ones she refuses to release which negates an executive privilege claim but never mind that little detail. Nor was their mention of the recent road blocks she has put up to the investigation and how she is trying to get the case moved to the personel board, which happens to be made up of governor apointees. None of whom would dare vote against her given what she seems to do to her friends, much less her enemies. The reporting on this was incredibly weak and lacking in terms of truth.

Why didn't Palin's documentary reporter talk to people in the alaska senate?

Biden's documentary talked of the questionable conflict of interest with his son working as a consultant for MBNA. That's honest – there was a question about that. But then be equally honest because there are also questions about conflict of interest with her husband who works for BP. And that seems a bit more serious to me given her drill baby drill mantra.

Why didn't Palin's show mention all the money she has charged her state to stay in her own home. Compare that to the fact that Biden, as a single dad of 2 very little boys -and still to this day – commuted 100 miles to and from DC every day and never used his kids as an excuse to charge the state money to sleep in his own home.

There was nothing about how Palin actually kept the money appropriated for the bridge to nowhere and is building a road to nowhere now. I'm not sure I get how she can claim to have said "thanks but no thanks" when she kept the entire sum of money. Can someone explain that to me? More importantly could CNN explain this to the public because I don't think the average TV viewer is aware that the money did not come back to congress and thus to us. It went to Alaska anyway.

In the end I learned little more than I already knew. Biden is a genuine, real person. He does not have to craft his image because What you see is what you get. He has made mistakes, he is willing to admit that and he has learned. That is how wisdom is gained. But we already knew all of this about the modest, fiercely dedicated, patriotic, intelligent and very human man that he is.

Palin...well who knows anything outside of the story that the media is selling. One thing that did strike me was that she seemed to turn on the very people who helped her break into politics. A mayor encouraged her to run for city council and supported her and she stabbed him in the back and took his job. The governor appointed her to a board and next thing we know she stabbed him in the back and took over as governor. It's a little scary once you see this pattern – who really would be in control at the white house if that ticket wins?

You can never compare Biden to Palin. As a woman I am embarrased to be represented by Palin.... Maybe many of us do not know about the Bush Doctrine but we are not running for VP. She needs to go back to school or better yet dedicate time to her children. It is obvious that she has not.

I enjoyed the documentary on Biden. It was enlightening and refreshing to hear about a man, a father who always kept his family in the forefront. Unfortunately, people like Biden and Obama will not be successful in their run for VP and Pres because the GOP know from past experience that the majority of folks care little about integrity, character and intelligence. The GOP campaign is predicated on lies, spins, psycho-babble and they are gifted to play on the weak minded, moronic voters. I'm confused. Sarah Palin takes heat for being a Mom while accepting the offer to run for Vice President – with accusations of "no experience." Joe Biden, on the other hand, with NO experience as a US Senator, was sworn into office days after his wife and daughter were killed in a tragic accident.

Did anyone accuse him of being a terrible Dad for leaving 2 children behind every day while he commuted. Who cared for these kids? Were they even recovered from the accident themselves? Were there any articles about how bad this decision was? Is this sexist?

Sarah Palin is also taking nasty heat due to the strength of her Faith Convictions. She appears to be consistent in them. That being said,

When Obama picked Biden, he listened to the wife and the vindictive side of his brain and lost the Presidency. Sorry folks, I'm not a Joe Biden fan; I view him as an insider. I was hoping Obama would name somebody like Bill Richardson, but, hey, I agree, I can't have everything in an election slate, and besides, a vice president on the ticket isn't the thing that turns losers into winners.

I really enjoyed the piece on Biden. He has a great family. You could see the love he has for his first wife and now Jill. Biden is more than qualified to lead this country. If Obama/Biden win the election, I have no doubt that Biden will serve a much more active and influential role in the White House than Sarah Palin will if the GOP wins. In fact, it seems that it was with this purpose in mind that Obama picked Biden to begin with; to bring someone with experience, wisdom, and an established self-identity to the table.

He might not be the most exciting pick (relative to Sarah Palin, that is), but he, in my opinion, is the better pick for this reason.

As such, it is important for people to really learn more about the man who very well may fill this role in the near future; and this documentary was a good first-step in allowing people an opportunity to do just that.

Joe was my first choice for President, unfortunately, he took himself out of running. I will vote Democratic this November. I don't want another 8 lousy years!

Biden was a strange choice of running mate for Obama. How will Obama change Washington when he selects a running mate who's been in the senate for a longer time than his life experience out of it? Doesn't someone like Biden have a vested interest in keeping Washington the way it is? Sure, McCain has a long record in the senate, but he wasn't the one parading through Iowa spouting "change change change." Besides, I'd rather see someone with McCain's record in the big chair than a guy who hasn't completed a full term in the senate. Is it me, or doesn't anyone else think that it's arrogant for Obama to want to be the big tuna when he's just learning how to swim?

I just finished watching the two "Revealed" pieces. I am very disappointed in how Biden is portrayed by the CNN reporter. He is made out to be a Washington insider crook. Where is the mention of all the positives that have caused Delaware voters to continue to re-elect him term after term. And, by the way, Palin's son was once again lauded for his impending service in Iraq while no mention was made of Biden's son's October departure for service in Iraq. Hmmm...
CNN and other media cover every move and comment of Palin on a daily basis as if she is running for president. If Palin is going to be covered, Joe Biden should receive equal coverage – in keeping with the supposed rules of equal coverage for the campaigns. CNN apparently, and sadly, is not fair and balanced.

There will be always people who think the Biden piece supported the one side or the other.
But there were a few reckless statements or omissions from the researcher.
What I found particular partisan was not mentioning that Bork was opposed because he fired water gate special prosecutor Archibald Cox, after Elliott Richardson and William Ruckelhaus already had refused.
Or adding the adjective "fallacious" to Anita Hill's testimony in the Clarence Thomas hearings. That's beyond the pale, that's taking sides..

I can not wait to hear the candidates debate and display their intelligence and quick thinking solutions to challenging issues that are grounded in facts. I do not think voters should vote for anyone because they look pretty, handsome or are war veterans. There should be a lot more substance to a president or vice president – one who is not a prisoner of his /her past, but rather a beacon of hope, change, innovation and a shift towards the future – a shift from typewriters to computers and beyond. Obama/Biden have the combination for such a shift! Be bold! Pick them and be part of the solution!

He has the experience, the record, the intelligence, the wisdom, and the vision.someone with national experience , and foreign affairs. Obama and Biden would actually make an honorable and prudent pair.

I think the biggest problem facing the American voter is the innability to distinguish "pep talk" politics and real issues affecting this country. Both Biden and Palin have the ability to become the vice president. But, we have to think beyond just our loyalty and examine their records with pure minds, dignity and maturity.

Im glad that Joe Biden thinks that people who work hard and earn a decent living should pay much higher taxes so that we can redistribute wealth. I think its super that he has donated almost $500 a year out of his $2.2 million that he has "earned" over the last 10 years, mostly from the taxpayers as a Senator to charity. Really a passionate guy...he can tell everyone else to give all their money to the government, but he cant spare more than 500 of his $220k per year to help those "less fortunate" he professes to care so much about. I am an Independent and watched “Sarah Palin Revealed” and “Joe Biden Revealed” while scribbling exhaustive notes in columns I made for each candidate's “Triumphs” and “Controversies.” I came away with a good balance in my columns for Palin, and so I feel more informed.

However, Abbie, I have really done a lot of homework on Biden, so I have both praise and criticism the Biden documentary: First, I was moved to tears on the discussion of Biden’s personal tragedies. It was just BRILLIANT to have Biden read the passage from his book!! It made for first-rate storytelling. Kudos also for incorporating rare footage of his young family.

However, I think Biden’s distinguished political career was reduced to a litany of controversies, evidenced by the nearly empty “Triumphs” column in my notes. Did I miss the mention of his authorship of the pioneering Crime Bill? His role in defining crimes against women? The spearheading of the rescue of Bosnia?

On the other hand, to my dismay, my “Controversies” column runneth over. Yet, I don’t think ANYONE would describe Joe Biden’s career as marred as it seemed in the piece.

(Just an aside, I have made it a point to understand Biden’s political plan for Iraq, so I cringe a little when I still hear people call it “partitioning.” Biden recommends maintaining a central government in Iraq that is a confederation of the three ethno-religious factions.)

I want to express my very sincere thanks to you, Abbie, and to the producers of “CNN Presents” for their attention to the bottom of the tickets, even if my “report card”–at least in the Biden piece–showed an “incomplete.”

I encourage other Independents to do the research. As I stand now, this election would be crystal clear for me if Biden were the top of the Democratic ticket. He has a compelling personal and professional resume.

McCain gave about 80 times more to charity on a percantage of income basis than Biden has. Youre really a great guy, Joe...a true everyman. Albeit one with a 165k government job that is pretty much a no show job these days, and book royalties to boot. You really do know what its like for the average guy...cause the average guy makes 200k a year, gives almost nothing to charity and runs around telling everyone else they should fund more compulsory government programs. I don't know what you have been listening to or reading, but the only campaign that I see running a misleading one is the republicans.
I've only seen dirty rotten tactics from McCain people, especially the one portraying that Barack wanted to teach five year olds sex education before
they could read, if that is not gutter politics I don't know what is.
I think that I will be voting democratic in this election, the republicans are way to negative for me, and I believe that have had their turn, and America has only gotten worse, and by the way they are only using Palin as a token, so that they can try and play the sexism card, and try to appeal to HRC voters, it is very apparent what they are doing.
Why would they have not picked a more qualified republican woman.

No, that is certainly not Palin's baby regardless of how hard the media tries to impress upon us that it is. This is Bristol Palin's baby, and Bristol Palin is not five months pregnant as her mother claims. It's all over the internet that Bristol was out of school with mono for five months during this "supposed" pregnancy of her mother's, and schoolmates swear that she was pregnant.

I'm an RN, and assure you that this is the longest case of (non) mono on record. The only reason that Palin announced that Bristol is pregnant is because they knew if any investigating was done, it would be revealed that Trig is Bristol's.

I know many mothers who have babies back-to-back. More than likely she rebelled against her parents when they took her baby and claimed it as theirs and she immediately got pregnant again.

I saw pictures of Sarah Palin with her first pregnacy, and the pictures that I've seen just prior to her deliver are not of a pregnant woman. However, Bristol appears to be pregnant in one of those pictures.

I also noticed in the Palin fluff job, that her first child was born only eight months after her marriage.

I really enjoyed the documentary and to be honest I got teary eyed at times. What a touching life story and what an honorable man. No one is perfect, Biden has made a few mistakes but his integrity, his character as a human being more than overshadow any little wrongs he may have done.

We have a cheating husband, an ex drug user and an unethical politician under investigations, non of which was or is Joe Biden.

Biden has depth of character, substance and determination. Here is a man who is in touch with his human emotions and unashamed. As his story was told, his tears and laughter were appropriate and genuine. In his senate work, it is clear that he is dedicated to always putting forth his best effort. Once again, Barack Obama has demonstrated the sound judgement he will use as our next president.

Loved it! CNN did a great job wish it had been a little longer though. Makes me ant to buy his book so I can get to know him better.

This was an excellent special! Prior to this CNN special report I had no idea of the personal challenges that Senator Biden has had to overcome. I am especially impressed with him correcting his stutter.
As a special education teacher I know how this could have devastated his self-esteem, but he overcame it. You could see how this topic was still painful for him to express. Children can be so cruel to each other when others are different. Let them criticize his long winded speeches, I say keep on talking Joe, loud and clear!! His personal tragedy, the loss of his wife and daughter and his own personal brush with death due to the aneuryisms show that he can overcome most challenges that will come his way.
I also watched the Palin special as well. It was rather interesting that this woman, who talks so much about her faith, was married by a Justice of the Peace, with two strangers as her witnesses. She eloped. Why would she have to do that?? Then the commentator in the next statement says, "about 8 months later their first child was born." So, it seems Sarah eloped because she was pregnant, just as her young 17 year old daughter is now pregnant. If her christianity was so important why have a civil ceremony herself. It says she was "saved" as a teen. It seems "Like mother, like daughter."

ABBIE, that was excellent!!! Obama and Biden is the ticket of integrity. I admire any who hold to the truth in the climate and culture of fantasy that so many follow today. CNN choosing you for the assignment was just as thoughtful as Obama's pick of Joe Biden as Vice President

Thank you for the "Candidates Revealed" specials. While the Biden documentary was great; it should have covered more of the various issues / policies he supported while serving. Because he certainly has fought for the citizens of this country on numerous issues and we need more people like him in government.....honest, straight forward, a man with high standards in his principles and actions....a true Statesman of the people!!

Disappointed in all of the sensationalism the news media created over McCain's VP choice and about his "woman" VP. Over done!!

CNN while they talk about the VP being a "heart beat away from the president" never speaks to the issues of "what happens if the (72 year old and oldest man running for president) President becomes MENTALLY unfit to govern.....like Reagan who suffered from Alzheimers during his second term in office, yet continued to govern as his incapacitated state....it didn't matter who his VP was and that could happen with McCain! Being President ages even young men beyond their years....McCain at 72 is all ready an old man who shows poor judgment and radical behavior. THAT IS SCARY!! Our government needs a strong leader and a leader with good judgment who will weigh things carefully, talk to his advisors and negotiate whenever possible.

Obama shows great leadership and judgment. He ponders things carefully and doesn't yield to pressure, rather considers all facts prior taking action. His recent European tour shows his ability to speak to other world leaders. It is this kind of leader for our country, one that will recapture "respect for our country" again in the World!!

I love how everyone likes to drag Biden's foriegn relations record and his little spat in Kosovo around like he has done something. In truth that was never his job. He was elected by the people of Deleware to represent the people of Deleware. What he did was the job of the Secretary of State. I absolutely LOVED this! CNN has allowed both VP nominees an hour to be 'revealed'. This was truly refreshing. I thing both displayed the goods, bads, unfortunates, uglies, and truths about Biden and Palin in a way that I never thought I'd see.

Abbie was only speaking of her experience because she was assigned to Joe Biden Revealed, while obviously a colleague of hers was assigned to Sarah Palin Revealed. As well, I recall watching CNN as they showed documentaries about Hilary Clinton, John McCain, and Barack Obama (this was before there was a "presumed" Democratic nominee), which totally negates the idea that CNN has failed to "investigate" Obama. The "Revealed" documentaries were absolutely wonderful. I was truly excited about learning more of the REAL Sarah Palin story (Her younger years, a few more details into the truths that have been skewed by anti-Palin-ists, her family, how her friends feel about her - just a little insight into WHO she really is, beyond the mess that has been shoved in our faces to tear her down). I think CNN did a WONDERFUL job affording a snapshot of just that. I was more interested in finding out about who Joe Biden is. (I'm newly engaged to politics and I didn't know much about him before he was selected by Obama.) CNN did a MARVELOUS job presenting a one-hour synopsis of just that.

Palin scares me – and she is a heartbeat away from the presidency. Obama has a candidate equally close to the presidency, but who can do the job. Don't take my word for it – 70% of Americans agree Biden is more capable than Palin.

I saw the program, Biden on CNN last night and think you did a great job. I'm sure you are aware there is so much more you could have included had it not been for time constraints. I have liked Job for many years. I researched him years ago in his previous runs for office and admired the man as a result of my research. I think he is one of the few Politicians in Washington that is a citizens politician. He is a peoples representative. Yes he has made some mistakes but then all of us have.

I do like the fact that he speaks his mind. Once he has spoken there is no doubt where he stands. I will admit that many do not like this kind of candor in others but I do.

I do not know if your assignment has caused you to have thoughts of voting for him but I do hope that you have brought a sense of respect for him from this assignment. I also watched the show on Gov. Palin and I have also done some research on her. I must admit that she scares the hell out of me. I consider to be a “Hair Trigger”. I do not relish the thought of something happening to Senator McCain and Gov. Palin having to take over. I am also uncomfortable with many of her positions.

My opinion is that Senator McCain made a very poor choice in her but I understand some of the reasons behind his decision. Many of the other potential VP choices would not tolerate his temperament. He had to find one that he and his staff could control. He wanted one that would solidify much of the Evangelical base for him and he found that in her. I’m sure she is not his idea of the VP he wants but this was the only way he could have his way.

I appreciate the time you put into revealing every aspect of the Democratic candidates lives. Thank you for Introducing them to me in a way that I can understand who I am actually voting for. I had no idea Joe had been "around the block" so long! Barrack really thought long and hard about who he wanted to "represent" our country with him. Obama made the perfect choice for VP in Biden. Is anybody perfect? Of course not, but Biden brings a sense of humor to this little thing called 'the presidential election'. He is more humble than his critics think, dealt with personal tragedies and life threatening surgery. Delaware may be a small state, but they love him, after all he's never lost a Senate race.

He is a proud American like everyone else, and has the political ability and savvy to help lead with courage and will take his place in history with Obama.

The pundits say he talks too much, for goodness sake he's a politician, isn't it part of the job description. When American's want an answer to an important question, they'll get it with details, not a deer in the headlights look.

I can't wait for the VP debate, Biden will show why he's Obama's choice. In defense of the spotlight, Biden's not the show, Obama is. It's interesting that Palin gets more attention than the McCain. History will show that it may have been the worst VP pick of al time.

This was an unbelievable story – very moving (ok I have to admit – I cried). Compared to Palin's story, Biden exemplified how to juggle parenthood and work. He was a single parent – FATHER- and he put his family first. It was very evident from the beginning that Biden wanted to put his family first. and gave the Governor a six-month trial period. Palin put herself first before her family – it was evident from her story that she is only interested in herself, and that she will sacrifice or use her family to get ahead.

It is now or never. Two historic events have marked the process to define the Dems ticket. The second, as critic as the first, was to pick a genuine American that has a clear mind on that the US role as world leader comes from understanding the different cultures and realities and not from bullying around to shape them 'the American way'. Furthermore, as much as as abroad, the need to feel that the VP is "one of us" makes it a question of do or die on November.

Isn't it amazing how Democrats are scrambling because their ticket is much weaker? Sorry, but as an independant, I can make an educated judgement without bias. McCain/Palin is much, much stronger on every issue. Unless of course, you think it's ok to rip a baby out of a womens womb.

I think it is about time the focus is turned towards something worth while. With Palin involved in this race now, which is just a completely BAD yet Frightening JOKE, I feel like watching any news these days. Is like sitting at a little league soccer game surrounded by all the moms gossiping! That is a horrible horrible place to be.
So yes please get us out of the bleachers and take us somewhere that makes is worth applying time and energy towards. Getting to know who we are voting for is important and I would imagine the Palin ticket is pretty much summed up for most. McCain / Palin "Unexceptable"

I don't know enough about Obama to elect him president because the main stream media holds back. I will not vote for a party that disregards my vote.
I had supported Hillary Clinton basically
because of the health care issue (the Republicans

I watched the Biden piece last night and think it was very objective and informative. Thank you. I did not see the Palin piece but hopefully it was as objective.

Choosing Biden was the worst decision Obama could have made in this election and it will cost him dearly if not the whole election. Biden is a good guy but he is the status quo of Washington. He is one of the road blocks that is impeding Washington from functioning. Obama's choice for Biden as his VP goes against all the stances of change and reform that he has ever uttered. It was like shooting him in the foot. I understand he wanted someone with experience but Biden? Why not Richardson who is not in Washington and has executive experience and the Hispanic vote? To those of you who think people are dragging Palin through the mud: I believe the only reason this is happening is because Palin appears to have exaggerated some of her experience or accomplishments. For example, her travel to foreign countries were exaggerated. People question her experience? Yes, because she is an unknown. However, had she been honest from the beginning, even being an unknown with limited experience, she would be a huge asset to the Republican Party and no one could touch her. Palin did this to herself.

I watched both documentaries. About Palin, not because I am interested in her but because I might have a wrong impression and might have to change it. CNN should be ashamed of its negative Biden documentary that followed a star-struck Palin documentary glossing over or not even mentioning her many failings like her interest in banning books or her charging the government to sleep in her own bed. Most egregiously, while the Palin documentary did not say that she kept repeating debunked campaign slogans like her bridge-to-nowhere slogan which she only said "no thanks" to only AFTER she took the money, Biden's painfully recorded each of his mistakes in the Senate. That would have been fine but for the fact that there were no examples of his many achievements as a Senator including his steller efforts on women's issues and his hand in many foreign policy successes. Biden's vote against Clarence Thomas was painted in a sleazy light when, in fact, many courageous senators voted with him not to confirm Thomas because of this justice's lackluster resume - certainly unfit for the Nation's highest court. It is interesting that Sarah Palin did not allow herself to be interviewed for this supposed in-depth "Revealed" documentary but Biden did. However, Biden's heartfelt words and sincere messages were drowned out by the calculating digs of Republican strategists who were presented as credible witnesses. I would have expected more from CNN but it looks like you guys have also fallen for the well-used play from the Republican playbook; tear down the opposition so nobody looks at your own record of failure and talk about everything but the things that matter most to the American people so that come election night, they'll pull the levers like the zombies they have been for the past 8 years.

Great insight to Biden, I appreciate the great job CNN does informing the public about the candidates.

It seems to me that Biden just wants to keep whatever national spotlight on him as long as he can. He has tried and failed twice running for POTUS. He admits Hillary is more qualified and should have been the VP pick. But he took it for the attention.

I think he knows Obama cannot win, but will hang on just for the attention. To bad he would tie his name to this racebaiting Obama campaign. Politics blah.

I think McCain and Palin should win, at least he is running a decent campaign and fighting the sexist attacks.

To compare Obama and Palin as far as experience is absurd. Palin attended six colleges in seven years to get a BA in sports journalism, while Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, was an editor for their law review after his first year, and was editor in cheif by the end of his second year. Palins was a sports reporter and a runner up miss Alaska before her career in politics, whereas Obama taught law, and helped set up tutoring for those without access. He also worked to increase the number of blacks in Illinois who actually vote.

We can compare Biden and McCain though, both graduated near the bottoms of their respective classes, McCain in the naval acadamy, and Biden from delaware and syracuse. McCain does not have any formal education in politics from before he entered the lifestyle.

He also didn't have the guts to call himself a Goldwater conservative while Goldwater was still alive. Goldwater would have publicly corrected him.

I think that Biden's long term understanding of the world and it's leaders's is so important to the safety of our country and hopefully will improve our positon on the world scene. Understanding of what leaders are like, the different cultural nuasances, and a deep understanding of our history canNot be taught in a "Cliff Notes" version that Sarah Palin is at present receiving. A true leader(McCain) who is supposodly the one strong on foreign relations shouldn't choose someone so lax in that area just to get elected. When he does that he is choosing position over love of country.

I am a republican and really want to vote with the republicans. But can anybody see what has happen over the last eight years with this economy. People are suffering with high gas prices, high food prices and poor health care. I really don't think John Mccain has a clue. He chose this poor woman to win a campaign for him, not to help the economy. He is not being impacted by this at all. It is all a game for him. And he wants to win at any cause. To all the people who think a political candidate should not have to answer questions. when we go for a job interview, the hiring manager investigates our credentials, It has to be done or you could imagine the problems that could come up later!

I am neither a democrat or republican, but I got sucked in the last time being a born-again christian and voted for George Bush because I did not agree with Kerry on abortion. It's laughable how experience doesn't seem to be a prerequisite for the job of Vice President anymore, but that is not the case with Joe Biden. He made some mistakes along the way, but I thought the documentary told a story of a man that continued to brush himself off, get back on the horse, and a man that continued to be re-elected. If George Bush were running again, there is no way he would be reelected, and I wonder who would give him a job doing anything right now. What's important is that there are high school kids with more knowledge about world events and politics than Sarah Palin, and she could very well be our President some day. I just believe it's amazing that someone who has voted for so much increased government spending and against virtually every tax cut for decades gives so little of his own bloated government salary to the people about whom he purports to care so much. By the way, Biden is also "rich" under Obama's definition, and therefore should be doing so much more.

Joan's comments are "right on". Joe Biden is a plagiarist (that means thief and liar) so he fits right in with the rest of the Democrats especially the Clintons. In addition, he doesn't know when to shut up as evidenced by his racisit remarks concerning persons of Indian and Pakistani origin. This guy has done very little to improve/support American ciitizens and typifies the Washington insiders that populate the US Senate and Congress. Biden understands the complexity of keeping our country safe by working with all other willing partners in the world. Palin, however, when asked about the Bush doctrine said his aim to "rid the world of all terrorists." I thought it was an pretty good until you failed to mention Biden's most important accomplishments in the Senate, like Violence Against Women's Act, the Violence, his work in Bosnia. You also didn't mention that his son will be deployed to Irak hmmmmm, just as Palin's. I was really touched by the fact that this man decided to place his family first in the worst of times as a single father in a time when it wasn't the normal thing to do, while Pailin decided to place her career first when her family needed her the most, with a teenage pregnant daughter and a child with special needs... The whole plagiarism report, apparantley you need to do your research and listen better. First of all, in his speech he forgot that one time to credit the author of that speech. He had used that speech several times before and had always credit the author. The one time he forgot is the one time the media chose to report it. So in reality the media should have also noted that he had in the past credited the author and the documentary clearly states that. Second, the law school plagiarism, if you look at the records and do your research, you will find that Biden had footnoted his comment, but he used a different method of footnote, a historian footnote, not a law school footnote. There are so many different requirements for footnotes depending on the style you choose to write your paper, and depending on the department and school. Biden only knew off footnoting for history and ´political science, not law school. He made a mistake with his footnote, and he even discussed it with the Law school council. The law school and the professor accepted his mistake and even honored him for noting his mistake and being upfront bout it from teh beggining. They told him to repeat the class, and he did. To me that is honorable. If the law school had no problem with it why should you. And just as a seperate note, several scholars have made mistakes in their footnoes, and accused of plagiarism, yet people continue to admire their works, Stephen Ambrose is the best example.

As for the documentary, I agree with E. Murray, it was a good documentary, it showed the human side of Biden, that I greatly admire. But it did fail to demonstrate his greatest achievements as the Delaware senator. He has done a great deal to protect women and children, and he has done a great deal with reducing crime in his state. I also agree that it should have told viewers how Biden´s son is also going to Iraq this year.

He is truly a remarkable man, I do not know how I would have been able to survive the death of a child and a spouse, be a senator, and raise two children, he has proven how important a parent is in the life of a child, that he said it right, delaware can always get another senator, but those boys could not get another father. He always carries his rosary with him, a man of prayer and faith. I am hoping that CNN will have another interview with him. please Anderson Cooper interview the senator so that America can see what a decent man he is.

As someone who lived in dc for 7 years, I have never met or seen or even heard of a senator who commutes an hour and a half every morning by train to Union Station, and then back another hour and a half to delware from dc. THat is devotion to his family and that devotion is what he will have with the american people, he is devoted and that is the kind of leader i want in the white house with Obama.

No disrespect to Hillary Clinton, i love this woman, i am a woman and i admire all her work. But biden is a great man too and please people do not vote against this ticket because Hillary is not on it, vote for our future.

I wish someone would question the quality of Palin's parenting skills. There seems to be no expectation for her children to aspire for higher education. To me, she is like a line backer, hard hitting but, not viewed as the brightest bulb on the tree. I think working mothers want more for their children than the notion that lowering the achievement bar is now acceptable.

I watched the Biden revealed last night and am glad that there is someone other than Palin that is fully qualified to take over as President if need be. It was a very informative program. I really like him and feel he knows the middle class people well and is what everyone needs as VP because of his experience in foreign affairs and years in the senate. He came from a good family and raised a good family.

Looking forward to seeing the segment. Biden was my second choice in the primaries. He's so real, unvarnished, genuine, comfortable-in-his-skin and SO deeply knowledgeable about everything anyone can throw his way - plus, he just doesn't seem concerned about what others think of him which leaves him able to focus on doing his job and *telling the truth*. I also love the warm rapport between the Bidens and the Obamas. In Palin's first week on the McCain ticket, she seemed to grimmace every time McCain embraced her. Two points stood out in last night's "Sarah Palin Revealed" and "Joe Biden Revealed:"

1. the Biden biography included snippets from Republican strategists denigrating his accomplishments or accusing him of misdeeds. The Palin biography had no corresponding Democratic strategists,

2. several mentions were made of Palin bringing infant children to work with her as if this were something to be applauded. I say she was lucky to be the boss and able to get away with it. I'd love to see the reaction if a teacher, waitress, nurse, or secreatary hauled her newborn into work and set up a cradle in the corner. Come on, folk, let's get real.

Joe brings decades of foreign policy experience to the ticket and it doesn't come from being able to see Russia from his ONE AND ONLY home. It's really very simple. Are you better off than you were 8 years ago? If not, vote Obama/Biden '08!

Watched Joe Biden Revealed last evening, ditto the parallel piece on Sarah Palin, and after those 2 hrs., came away knowing that Joe Biden is a great choice for Vice President. And if, God forbid, anything happened to Obama while in office, I'd be comfortable with Biden becoming President. I cannot possibly say the same thing about Sarah Palin. Thank you for finally letting us see another face in the campaign. The hype surrounding the Republican vp candidate has gone way to far. Let's get back to the issues. The news media needs to stick to reporting the news, not creating drama. Let us see some of the campaign rallys around the nation. The candidates are on the trail aren't they?

Biden is obviously the man that could step up and shape so much of Obama's policies as President. I like him. He's someone who I could eat a hamburger with in my backyard and never feel he would not tell me if it wasn't prepared to his taste. He's honest, straightforward and flawed. I think he is also the best candidate in the bunch. Biden is great. Glad to see he's getting so much attention. A good man in politics is very hard to find.

Joe's the best of them all! Such a powerful VP pick. Palin pales in comparison .... actually, far more capable republican women like Kay Hutchison, Olympia Snow, Condi Rice would have been much better and far more qualified choice. I wonder if Greg even knows what bias is? Somehow I doubt it. I don't have much doubt that CNN has some bias, but at least they are professional enough to attempt to be objective. Fox, on the other hand, is blatantly conservative, pro-republican, and if they had their way we'd all be an American version of the Taliban before you know it.

But, as to Joe Biden, I'm not from Delaware, but from the deep South. I've followed him politically for years and few politicians in this country command more personal respect from me. He ain't perfect, but he's a real American, a real public servant in the best sense, and is so much more qualified to be VP that Sarah Palin is hard to imagine any one missing that who is not an ideologue of the first order.

We got to make some changes in this country and Obama-Biden is the best shot we've got. McCain and Palin will take this country deeper into places we can't afford to go if we really cherish the freedom that sets us free.

I thought this was one of the most unbiased, and fair, documentaries I have seen of the current candidates. I thought it portrayed Biden honestly and accurately. It did not sugarcoat any past controversies, and at the same time, it did not try and exaggerate or exploit them. I would have liked to have seen some more credit for his experience in foreign policy since that is a key issue in this election, and certainly, an excellent reason for him to be picked as VP. I think he will be an excellent advisor to Obama, if elected president, and a VP who will make the most of his position, which is a complete contradiction to McCain's pick for VP. While Palin may be appealing to some voters, she simply does not possess the qualities for such a high position. While she tries to portray a strength of character, it does not exist. Biden fights for what he believes in, and is consistently outspoken about what he opposes, and I think that was accurately shown in this documentary. Probably the most endearing aspect about Biden, as a politician, is that he admits his mistakes and takes responsibility for them. Palin, however, chooses to ignore her past contradictions in her supposed convictions. I liked that Biden was not compared too much to Palin in this respect, but rather, it was left to individuals who watched both documentaries to make up their mind.

I'd like to hear more about the plagerism incidents including hi-jacking parts of a british politician's life story. That is a pretty serious lapse in judgement and speaks to his integrity yet I don't hear much about that in the media. Also, did I not hear him say in the primaries that McCain is more qualified than Obama?

What a joke those two make. Obama says he wants change, put new people in and get rid of the old Washington people that has been there to long. I think Joe Biden is the right man for the VP's job. He is the longest serving person in congress. He is the best ever in comparing to Palin.
Palin is and will be the worst in American history.

Biden is a major problem in that he does not represent a person who can attact anyone outside of his political group. Just go back and watch how he has run his committee. He comes across as a closed mind who will cause the country to continue to be very divided. He does not come across as anyone who likes his fellow citizens as did President Reagan and President Clinton.

Sen. Biden is by far the better VP-choice. If Palin had sense, she would know she is way over her head. If McCain had judgment spanning beyond his personal career aspirations, he would have chosen a VP running mate who would be good for the Nation. Biden will be good for the Nation–and his selection is a hallmark of sound judgment on the part of Obama.

I am a muslim who believe in peace on earth for all humanity. I have a deep feeling that Obama will unite the world and we are going to have a peacefull life when he is in office. Attitude will only creat more hate. It is for the first time the whole world is waiting for a change in the white house, so all human can live in peace. It has been a long eight years.

This is not a comment about Biden vs Palin. It's strictly about Joe Biden. I don't think the man knows how to speak with "normal" volume. He is so "on". I can't see him representing out country as v.p. and always "shouting". Joe, take a tranquilizer.

Biden is a solid cast for the new Obama administration. I am glad Obama chose him. He may be loquacious, but what he has to say is important about foreign relations. His interview on Meet the Press last week helped me undersatnd clearly (and with soundbites) the reason the surge won't work for long.

Americans don't all talk and think in sound bites. and we don't need to hear silly talk when our economy, healthcare and national security are at stake. If that is what you are looking for then go to the other side. Over there you will hear the Soundbite Du Jour.

Wow! Why is trooper-gate even an item when you have the VP candidate in bed with all of the credit card companies? I also read that his son, Hunter, resigned his lobbyist job in 08/08. He was conspicuously absent in this segment and when Biden was asked about him you could have fried an egg on his bald spot. The bankruptcy bill that Biden pushed was LOBBYIST driven, people. It's on the record – read all about it!

I don't see the big issue with this, considering Obama has increased federal spending by one billions dollars on earmarks, and Sarah Palin has decreased the states spending by 40% for earmark spending. It seems to me that people want to discredit her, when in fact you have to fight legislative branches to bring reform, and that is not an easy thing to do. In fact she has reduce the spending of her state by half a billion dollars. Just think what she could do on a large scale. I must also mention, she did not cut any earmarks for the poor, and also proved her intelligence, by appling the money to more practical projects that would help improve infrastructure, and the economy in Alaska. That is also what the study on the crabs and seals is about.. The fishing industry.. It seems to me that is the kind of grit that this country needs. Reduced spending, lowering earmarks in a practical way..(it isn't like waving a majic wand) and applying money to infrastructure, that many democrats have been complaining about any way. She is brilliant, and none of this is going to stick. I can't believe that Obama is even going there with earmarks. As for the perdiem(which I even took in the military)... Well she saved the state a ton of money by driving, and getting rid of the jet. So...When you are pregnant, and drive 600 miles home, and reduced spending, improved infrastructure, reduced earmarks, and got rid of the corrupt oil ties to the government, and gave every one a piece of the pie that ted Stevens stole, than I can see why people are scared of her...She will truly shake up Washington..

Joe Biden is a safe choice for V.P. But my problem is with Mr. Obama. How did he put himself through school? Where did he live? What did he do to support himself? How did he transfer to Columbia? Who helped him? Who paid his way? I have not voted to put a President in office for a long time, I have voted to keep people from President. As things stand now I rate McCain -9 and Obama a -10. Because I don't trust who he really is!

Oh, yeah!! He plagerized in COLLEGE and when he was running for PRESIDENT!! Actually he is a perfect running mate for Obama because he lies, too. Does anyone remember his stand on campaign funds? Why are people sticking their heads in the "sand"?

My favorite saying from Obama is, "They are going to say my name is funny. They are going to try to scare you about me." The only one scaring me is you with your name that you obviously find odd in some way because you keep talkin' about it!

After watching both specials with serious interest, I have to say that CNN’s two specials on Biden and Palin Revealed did not deliver very much of what they had promised. CNN seems to be more concerned with their own ratings than with their effectively informing the voters. While it may be true that one can approximate objectivity by slanting both ways at once (which is what I think CNN did in this case), it would much more have helped the voters if a great NEWS channel like CNN would at least have tried to report AS MANY FACTS AS POSSIBLE and let the voters handle the processing and slanting.

The reason nothing's been said about Biden before now is because his screwups and mistakes woudl hurt the dem. party ticket. If you can do an unbiased documentary on him then I look forward to learning more about him. But if you're going to praise him the way most of the other media has been kissing Obama's ass and ruthlessly attacking McCain and Paulin, then don't waste your time putthing anything together. One of the most amazing aspects of this campaign season so far has been the biased coverage provided by the majority of the media.

And on a side note, the difference between the lack of experience between Obama and Paulin is simple. Even though she's had just a short time in office she's accomplished a lot. And barrack hasn't done a damn thing with his time in office. I challenge all you faithful dem.'s out there to please explain to me what the hell he's accomplished while in office. What's one major thing he's done? Get back to me in a few days when you give up.

Thank God! It's time for a documentary about the only competent VP candidate. This guy without a doubt is ready on day one to run the country as experienced as anyone else in the race. Worldly, intelligent and experienced. It will be great to see the media start getting off the Palin hype. Yes, we've met her and she's obviously in way over her head. A documentary about a hard working kid from the neighborhood who still isn't rich after putting in a lifetime of public service will be nice to see.

Terrific presentation of Senator Biden. I liked him before, but I realized what a downright lovable guy he is, and it's clear why Barack picked him over Hillary. Once people start seeing more of him, and understanding what he is all about, they'll realize that the celebrity the media has insisted on making of Sarah Palin is quite superficial and overblown.

2- Palin's story and life in general is boring and even if she was the last woman on earth and I had to vote for a woman, I won't vote for her.

I am a Republican who grew up in Delaware and lived there for 22 years through my time at the University of Delaware. I have to admit that Obama grabbed my attention this year, enough to consider voting for him based on his ability to get the average person to get involved in not only politics, but the community. Obama made the best decision possible by putting Biden on the ticket. As a student at the UofD, I had the great pleasure to watch Biden give a few speeches during my tenure, but there was no better speech then the one he gave days after 9/11. He was able to take an incredible confusing time for all of us in the country and make us feel like one again. His incredible foreign relationships and experience are the most incredible on a ballot this Fall. There was still part of me that thought I may vote Republican this November, but when McCain picked Palin all I could do was laugh, shake my head, and realize that the Obama / Biden ticket is the most experienced, inspiring, and motivational tandem we have seen in a very long time. Bush / Cheney vs. Kerry / Edwards will all look like a bad dream to us when this is all over. Let's all thank Obama and Biden for truly bringing back what is important in this country....You and Me.

Great pick Obama!!! Where was McCain lapel during the RNC convention? He talks about being a patriot, how patriot he was by not wearing the USA lapel.

Biden is the most experienced person on the ticket. He's brilliant, but he's not as exciting as some of the other candidates, so he didn't get much support as a presidential candidate. He's also, IMHO, the most down to earth person on the ticket as well.

Palin pales in comparison. Biden is the kind of person you can rely on. Palin is the kind of person you fear because of either incompetence or vindictiveness. Biden understands the way the world works. Palin barely understands the way her state works.

Folks, a BA in Journalism doesn't qualify you for the Vice Presidency. Even when combined with her experience in Alaska government. She simply doesn't understand the world and will screw it up by accident if given the chance.

I absolutely agree with the previous two comments. First, you received the better assignment and second, Biden is clearly the better choice as the second in command of this great United States. Biden is a politician with no work experience. He has been a politician since he was 29 and that's all he knows. When he first ran for president he quit the race because he was caught plagiarizing. But what I really don’t like about him is that he lied about his grades in law school. He wanted to make himself look better than he really is, just like a typical politician. Yes, he has experience being a member of the good old boys network and yes he’s the chairman of the foreign relations committee…so what. He’s a liar. It makes me wonder what else he lied about that we don’t know. I felt the documentaries of the two VP candidates were biases in favor of Palin. This presentation should have been simply to the point, factual as possible, and certainly not playing favorites in any way.
As I watched the piece on Biden I was educated about his favors for the credit card companies with the [I felt] brutally unfair bankruptcy laws that went into effect. But hey, all elected officials show favor to the big money contributors from their individual states. Delaware is the credit card capital, just as Iowa is the insurance capital. Why do you think Grassley will never buck the interests of big insurance companies that keep us in a strangle hold with health care coverage? The same is true of Texas representatives protecting Big Oil. One doesn't bite the hands of those feeding their campaigns.
At least Biden possesses experience in domestic and foreign affairs, more than Palin will ever know, despite all of the tutorials McCain's camp can feed her. She is no more ready to be president than I am. People need to look closer at these VP candidates so much closer than in the past because the chances of them needing to take over during the term is so very real. Face it, McCain is in poor health and his longevity cannot be compared to his mother's. I watched both programs last night on Palin and Biden. By far, Biden came off as the more intelligent, more principled, more honest and more human. He cares deeply about his country and most importantly he fought for the Constitution with his work on the judiciary committees. When he talked about his family, I got a tear in my eye – this from a father whereas his opponent happily declared that she never gave her family a second thought when the rings of power were offered to her.

Biden was a good choice and I believe Mrs. Clinton would have picked him too.

Biden is like other Washington career politicians- -they sit around ,collect a paycheck, and get nothing accomplished. I do not know much about Biden other than he has done an excellent job of raising his two sons that survived the car accident, Beau and Hunter. The type of father a man makes, speaks volumes.

I just love how alot of women are bashing McCain for picking a woman to run with him. I remember back when Clinton was elected alot of women voted for him over Dole or Bush because he was better looking! Just like the hypocrit women who fully supported Clinton in the Lewinsky scandal, when they would have roasted a Republican in the same situation.
People need to look who is really about change. McCain chose a true Washington outsider. Obama chose a stale old Washington political crony. Obama couldn't even reach across the aisle in his own party and pick Clinton as running mate, so how do you think he will work with Republicans? The Republicans have moved more towards the center with McCain, yet the Democrats steer even further left in thier thinking!! Obama truely scares me. We would even be better with Gore! Obama shows that he had to choose the best of the worst. He picks someone who was very vocal against him in the primaries. Obama's judgement leaves a lot to be desired. He goes on vacation to Europe, talks to some heads of state and comes home qualified to lead on foreign policy? Heck that would mean that Michael Jacson is still more qualified than he is. I agree Joe Biden was a good choice for VP. I believe together Joe and Barack can change America. I am disheartened by what I see the Republicans doing once again, that is, telling half truths about Palin's record. She didn't sell the plane on ebay. She listed it there but it didn't sell. When it did sell it wasn't at a profit but at a loss. She did stop the bridge to no where when it became a political liability for her after giving her work to the citizens of Ketchikan AK to support their bridge. Oh, by the way she didn't give the money back either. As final note, when you are paying more for gas in the next few weeks remember the gas tax increase Governor Palin put on the oil companies doing business in Alaska so the Alaska State economy could make more revenue. We all pay for that everytime we fillup and so the Alaskans aren't inconvenienced she is giving them all $1200 of our tax dollars to offset the higher fuel prices. THis doesn't sound to me to be any different than the last 8 years.

It's a serious job Joe's appling for. You can't afford to be wrong very often. Joes been all over the map on Iraq and most times opposite of Obama. I'd like to see him explain who was wrong and right on their Iraq votes and why. Mostly I'd like to know which time he was correct on Obama, when he said Obama was not qualified to be President or a few weeks later when he accepted the number 2 spot and said Obama was the "most" qualified.

Joe Biden not only agreed with Bush on the war, he pushed for it during Clinton. The following excerpt from 1998 you can read yourself... It is part of the congressional record:

I didn't think CNN was biased & dogged Biden. I came away thinking he's a great choice as a VP.
What I thought was weird was including the fact that Mrs Palin was on a state champion baketball team. Huh? Gee all the more reason to vote for her. Does she actually put that on her resume? I love it when I see Republican posts complaining that CNN (or any other news source) is partisan in favor of the Democrats. It's like they want to blame the media for the Republican party's dismal and utter failure. Even more pathetic they can't see for themselves they're backing a failed platform. Run the numbers people. We've never had fiscal stability any time we've had Republicans in charge – the same party that touts its fiscal responsibility. If you're angry about politics these days, don't complain to the media. Change your voter registration card and wake up. How much money has Obama spent trying to show that he's the man for the job ? Perhaps a good family man no doubt but basic wisdom concepts he seems to fall short in.

I have been a big fan of Joe for a lot of years. Before Barack threw his hat into the ring, Joe was high on my list of favorites for Prez. He is a wonderful, and honest man with a good heart, and yes, a statesman. I was so happy to hear that he was Barack's VP pick. I believe I know his heart and intentions in part because of the many times I have seen him interviewed by Tim Russert on Meet the Press, among so many other sources.

To Hillary supporters: Had she won the nomination I would instantly have jumped to her side, and I'll bet Joe would have been on her short list too. I hope you all jump on Mr. B's wagon as Hillary and Bill have. Donate! (even if it hurts some) It will hurt a lot worse with a McCain administration. I like John. I just don't like the vast majority of his policies.

Life experience, gut instinct and what needs to be read between the lines of both parties, tells me that we need Barack and Joe, and desperately.

And to young voters, please register in time and please Vote!!!!

Biden is very experienced, honest and ethical he would make a great President or Vice President. Only America today doesn’t want great leaders. It seems to only want Cowboys, Hotdogs and Bulldogs. We get what we deserve, like the last 8 years. Thankfully I'm 69 years old, and won't have to sit and watch much longer the disgrace that has come upon the "Good ole U.S. of A.".

The Democrats have chosen wonderful Americans for both Pres and VP. The Republicans have chosen a candidate for President who is out of touch with reality, and a Vice President that would run our country into the ground if McCain and his health go south. It is not even a question who to vote for this year. I am a registered Republican but I am an American first.

I saw the show on CNN the other night. Very good, sure gives more insights and background than we would generally have on Mr. Biden. I will always remember his ferociousness in the Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Bork and Thomas, that is a strong impression for me of Biden. And some of his debate performances – I wish those had been covered more in the documentary.

The last 10 minutes or so seemed to quickly cover the present day ~ more should have been made of his recent Presidential run, the debates, how he has performed as a VP nominee, and perhaps his relationship with Sen. Obama (which seems to be good). That would have given a more complete and updated view.

Overall I liked the coverage of Senator Biden. Hope he makes VP!

I loved the Joe Biden story it really shed some light to why I really am going to vote for the Obama/Biden ticket. I feel Obama has really picked the right VP. I really would like to see more coverage of Hilary Clinton out there trying to get the votes for Obama.

Yep, Sarah is quite a speech therapist, is she not? but all I have heard her talk about so far is how wonderful her husband is, when asked a direct question about anything, she hums and haws and avoids the question completely. I sincerely have not heard her or McCain say anything intelligent at all, and McCain seems to just be echoing Obama anymore. Wahtever Obama says sounds really good to him, so he just echo's it just as if he just woke up and this idea came to his head. I really think sarah could help McCain lead us right into a full blown depression within six months. That is where we are headed fast and if something doesn't change quickly we WILL be there in another 8 months.

Senator Biden has my support for a variety of reasons, but most specifically for his on-going support of people with disabilities. To say that he has done nothing while in Congress is a lie. Both he and his staffers have worked hard on a variety of key issues important to me and I appreciate what he has done. He will have my support through this election.

McCain's pick of Palin as VP is an insult on the intelligents of the americans people and a true sign that the econony is not on his list of priorties. But what is even more disturbing is the way the country is folking to Palin and the boost she gave to the repubicans in the polls. Dispite what the polls show I believe the Obama -Binen team is clearly a better combination than the McCain -Palin team. I hope the american people do what is best for this country.

I watched the program and was proud of him in so many ways. It's not about the issues or what is fair at this point is just to win and at any cost. Remember, how Bush came to power and look at the mess we are in. I for one wouldn't care if Obama was orange. He is the only choice to do what is right and equitable for all. Even if the RICH thinks he is being unfair they know what is right. They don't want anyone to make them get off of this ride. Ms. Palin is not worth discussing because she and her family are just common folk and if it wasn't for her political jobs she would be regular middle class just like the vast majority of Americans. She makes money and lives well but look at her and her family they are just common folk with common folk problems. I don't want her as VP because she doesn't bring anything to the table except herself and that is not enough. At the end of the day what really matters is the American people who work hard in this Country for this Country. If she decides to become pregnant and have a baby at 44yrs. old after already having four kids it's obvious she doesn’t have good judgment. Although, this is her private life it shows what type of decisions she'll try to make for this Country. John McCain is just too old and nothing more needs to be said. I think the cutoff age to run for President should be 65yrs. old just like retirement. Around that age actually 10yrs. earlier things start to fail and the memory is the first to go. I would hate to see McCain fumbling and carrying on like Reagan and the Pope. Let's be real and stop the madness.....

Sarah Palin has a disturbed past which only questions her credibility and probably is keeping her in limelight. However It's not important about being in limelight, the real achievement is for qualified candidates who don't really will be in limelight but their actions do the right things and influence the right attitude. That's exactly what Joe Biden stands for.

Senator Biden is certainly the most qualified and best suited for the position of VP. I hope this campaign becomes about the issues rather than Governor Palin's glasses, dress, motherhood, hockey and hunting. With financial institutions, the foundation of this economy, crumbling there is no time to waste on beauty and personality, war and heroes; it is urgent that we talk of poverty and hunger driven by huge job losses; illiteracy driven by cuts in funding for schools thereby weakening the very structure of brain power that this country needs going into the future and a health care system that is becoming increasingly unaffordable to us working men and women. Guys stop the bickering and finger pointing. And to Senator McCain this is not about conducting a smart campaign and winning an election, it is about saving this country from the perils of indebtedness, poverty, unemployment and enmity. It is not a personality contest between and white man and a black man, it is about who can really bring about some real change and that is Barak Obama, but in this day and age to say he is black and there fore one will not vote for him makes for poor judgment and carelessness for the future of this great country.

It was good to see B iden for what he is. I have much confidence he will make an outstanding VP. As or Palin/McCain, this is a disgrace to the American people. I am tired of hearing she sold the plane on E-Bay, that she said No to the Bridge to Nowhere. I never thought Palin/Mcain would lie as they are now doing in their new ads. I am watching the life story of Palin 2 things strike me.

1. Biden participates in his, while Palin refuses to partake in hers.
However, she and republicans are the first to scream "media bias" so why not take the opportunity to get your side out? Makes no sense, unless she is too busy in the "cone of silence" cramming the Cliff Notes version of forgein policy.

2. I thought the human gestation period was 9 months, but little Track was born 8 months after the wedding, which took place without rings. So, it would appear that "abstinence only" fell on the deaf ears of her daughter Bristol, but Sarah does not seemed to have gotten the memo either. Maybe Bristol was only following Mom's example.

I hope all those people who have it stuck in their liberal minds that the Dems are pure as angels realize that Biden is a politician. All, I mean ALL politicians are in bed with big businesses. In Biden's case, he is known to be very cozy with the credit card companies. You know, those people who are holding most of this nation's money in their pockets. Now, I know how you bleeding hearts think. You will find plenty of off the chart rationals to excuse him. And I am not criticizing him. I happen to admire the guy. I jost hope that all of those people who think that Obama/Biden is without sin and believe everything they say realize that they are playing politics to get your vote. I am a 46 year female college graduate now working in commercial real estate. I follow politics very closely like some follow sports. In my opinion, there is no comparison between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. The media and the McCain campaign talk about sexism, it seems to me that in some ways Joe is being penalized for being male. And yet the man has so much more innate knowledge of the issues facing this country and a vision of how to resolve these issues in the future administration. I feel sorry for him that he doesn't have a qualified vice-presidential candidate to debate in the weeks ahead. After having seen and read about Sarah Palin, I believe Biden will handily demonstrate to the American people why he and not Sarah Palin is the right Vice Presidential candidate in this election cycle.

However, I've always been a good judge of character and I have always felt Joe was a straight shooting, compassionate man who truly feels for the hardships of others. Why wasn't Palin sitting down for an interveiw like Biden. How in the hell is this women going to be a voice for Americans and she's not even allowed to speak to reporters. This is so ridiculous.

I met Joe Biden last year at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day brunch in Wilmington, DE, attended by minority leaders, community organizers, and employees from local businesses. He gave a moving and inspiring speech and also took the time to stop and talk to the audience one on one. He really emphasized how important it is for all of us to not lose sight of the visions MLK had for America, not just on the day commemorating his birth, but everyday and in our own communities, where we can truly make an impact. Joe Biden is a true leader, a hard worker, and a compassionate individual.

Joe Biden is a wonderful man who I hoped would be the Democratic presidential nominee. Regardless, If Barack Obama and Joe Biden lose to the McCain ticket, we are all going to be in for four years of misery, even worse than the last eight years.

Palin's interview was biased. I couldn't vote for someone who transferred colleges 6 times in 5 years. I want someone who is smarter than I am. And I am surprised people don't see how Palin is being used by McCain to garner votes for anti-abortion (even to the point of using her daughter) and calling herself a "Wal-mart Mom" – that makes her sound like she is running for the PTA.

She did accept and pushed for pork barrel spending. She lied. She said she reformed government. She fires those who oppose her and hires her unqualified buddies like GW Bush. She openly says GOD tells her what to do. She wants to overturn Roe even in case of incest or rape. She wants to press for Christian prayer in public schools. She banded books as mayor of Wasilla. She didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was. She would go to war with Russia if pressed to do so. She ridiculed Obama's community service saying as a mayor of a tiny town, she had more experience. That was comparing apples to oranges. She ridiculed community service. Period. She pushed for the Bridge to Nowhere. Even though the bridge was cancelled, she kept the money. She pushed for Alaskan secession. She attended a church that expressed anti-semitic views (because Jews didn't believe in Jesus, that Israel deserves what hatred or attacks sent on them). This is worse than Rev. Wright's comments. Her staff is being subpoenaed for "Troopergate". This her record. These are the facts. Not innuendo. If these are the policies that American's are wiling to accept. Then we will return to the administration of GW Bush.
Biden is good Catholic. He is pro-life. He is against abortion. Personally. But he does not let his faith interfere with a woman's choice. He does not push his faith on the American public.
Palin is just the opposite. If you many of you are reviled at the idea of a religious state like Iran or other Muslim countries. Look at Palin's philosophy. When it comes to religion, we cannot be so callow to believe one side is good and the other is evil. But since God speaks to her on daily basis, one wonders why she's a politician and not out feeding and curing the poor masses. I think that Jesus had that in mind for us all. Oh, that's community service. A big joke to Republicans.

Someone mentions Biden was the catalyst for the down fall of Slobodan Milosevic who was a brutal leader that killed thousands through ethnic cleansing, yet Bush gets zero credit for taking down Sadam who killed several hundred thousand through his ethnic cleansing (Kurds) and millions more in the wars he started during his reign. Additionally freeing millions in Iraq and Afghanistan Bush was the one that had the guts to do what needed to be done unlike the poll watching media loving Clinton. Liberals would have been the first to criticize anyone who took Hitler out in the 1930's!

As far as Biden being the best of the 4 to be president, I think that he certainly is more experienced and a better choice than Obama is. Is Obama the least experienced candidate to ever get the nomination in the history of presidential politics, I think so. The curious thing about this is he is the nominee of the party that screamed the loudest about Bush not having enough experience in 2000 and if they do not like the way Bush has run thing don’t you thinks that the liberals would want someone with more experience than Bush had??? No they want one with less! Go figure.

I watched with interest, having worked in Delaware a few years ago, and appreciated the details compiled in this documentary. Being an independent, and watching all CNN documentaries with family, a special respect and awareness developed knwing the details of Joe Biden's career. It is amazing to see today's outright lies by some candidates, time and again on camera, with no accountability or shame, and yet just over a decade ago the silly developments such as "plagiarism" charge on Biden's campaign. Perhaps that was an excess then, as the senseless lies are spread today without honor or credibility just to grab power. To relate to McCain's documentary, we were dismayed that the past performance and hero status before returning to US from Hanoi has been completely destroyed with the most recent behavior in last few weeks. McCain just does not seem relevant to issues and challenges most Americans face. Perhaps he and his campaign have cashed those stories too frequently for too many selfish reasons. We did not find those heroic outcomes relevant for this election at all.

Where as, Biden as a VP, presents a much stronger teamwork possibility as Obama would lead through the tougher times for this nation. We will continue to watch closely, especially when the nation stays divided, expresses not so subtle hatred and fear – without regard to truth and reality America faces. All I have to say is keep the gaffes coming old Joe. Biden basically told the world that Obama’s first real decision ever, selecting old Joe for the VP spot, was a huge mistake! Way to go! I lived in Delaware at the time Nelia Biden was killed, about 2 miles from the intersection.

I think that showing the present state of the intersection with it's light and turning lanes does Nelia a disservice. At the time, it was the intersection of two 2 lane roads, down in a valley. The main road ran down into the valley and up again. Large mushroom trucks used the main road, always in a hurry. Nelia had a stop sign, and poor visibility to the left. Something must have distracted her for her to proceed into that intersection. She was killed by a truck coming down the hill from the left. She was not killed by running a light at a broad intersection.

Palin scares me to death. Just think...if McCain kicked-off (and he could at any time–he's had four rounds with cancer), Palin's finger would be on the "nuc" button. What a frightening thing that would be!

Not only is Biden the better VP choice, Obama is the better Presidential choice. Obama wants to help people! After the past eight years, wouldn't that be a novel approach to governing! Additionally, Obama doesn't lie. This time Rove has it right (no matter what his motives may be). McCain HAS gone too far! Red herrings must not–not this time–divert attention from the fact that he (McCain) doesn't want to discuss the issues that matter in America.

I enjoyed learning about both candidates and was so glad to see Biden given equal time with Palin. The media coverage of the VP candidates has been so one sided! Unfortunately, I did feel as if Biden's was presented in a more negative way. Even so, his integrity, character, experience, love of family and love of country were quite apparent. I came away from the program thinking he is a good man who would make an excellent VP or even president. Palin's nomination was just McCain grasping at straws!

I am a Canadian who is folowing the U.S. elections. Joe Biden is a great choice for Vice President and also would be a great choice for president. Barack Obama made the right pick. Joe will be a much stronger and more experienced VP than Sarah Palen.

I also find it interesting that most countries would elect Obama/ Biden over McCain/Palen.

I think it is about time we hear about Biden . I don't understabd why CNN is doing so much covage of palin on primtime and Biden is done late night when everyone is asleep. It looks like CNN is trying to puch Palin and Mccain.

Joe Biden is a wholesome pick. I must admit not very exciting. He was picked to be a good advisor on foreign policy and appeal to white, catholic voters. Other people could have filled this spot successfully.

The draft will be re-instituted if McCain-Palin take over the White House. We do not have enough troops to handle the necessary and un-necessary wars we are in now, and Palin made it very clear in her interview that a war with Russia is on her agenda. Very scary to have someone who does not know foreign policy decide that your child is going to go fight another war and possibly die.

I'd heard all I needed to know about Sen. Biden, as I supported his presidential bid early in the primaries, and was ready to support him all the way. Unfortunately, he ended his bid and so I supported Hillary Clinton.

It was nice to see Sen Biden's personal life featured but he's also done so much more in his senate career than was portrayed. I found it interesting that of all his senate accomplishments, the documentary chose to highlight his part in the Clarence Thomas hearings? Especially since now he is sharing the ticket with Sen. Obama? What was the message there?

I feel the Democratic ticket is stronger than the Republican ticket. I am a woman, and McCain's choice of Palin makes no difference to me.

I find it odd theres the impression that she would win over Hillary supporters or undecided females?

How many working moms relate to Palin? She's a mother who grew up in the wild frontier of Alaska, hunting moose, firing weapons, and living a rural lifestyle. What soccer moms living in Big City USA would relate to her - except mothers who are pro-lifers. Is that enough?
I think not. I think she was only chosen to appeal to ambivalent Republican voters.

I am definitely voting issues (economy, foreign relations; regardless of the candidate's gender or race. The stakes are too high to be voting anything else.

Joe Biden. GREAT Catholic. Was in the same class as Ted Kennedy. Taught by Prof Pelosi who has studied the faith in great depth. Too bad they didn't search the Catholic Catechism in their quest for the teachings of the Church.
Probably tune into "The View" and get their information from the experts on that show. What better source to get information from than a bunch of anti Catholics and former catholics who are still grinding their axes.

I've lived here all my life and voted for candidates on both sides of the aisle but I have NEVER voted for Biden. I heard him speak when he first ran for office and it was very clear then and even more so now, That when you clear the smokescreen away from his rhetorical BS it is quite obvious that Joe biden is only interested in himself and his legacy.

For those who said that Palin had executive experiences, you are either in denial or clueless. When she was a governor, her husband is helping her. He was involved in most of her meetings and helped her with veto and other decisions. She was never there to do her duties – she was late to her appointment meetings, hired her friends etc..
She is a power hunger.
Speaking of experiences Reagan didn't have experiences and he was a great president.

If we want to help decrease abortion, we should help the community and young pregnant women with special program. God wants to help each and individual and not by forcing people to do what they don't want to.

My husband and I have watched this entire election very closely and are neither Dem nor Repub–we are Americans. Obama and Biden are clearly our choice. I can't believe an educated person would pick a candidate mainly because they like her "spirit", paying no attention to her lack of formal education in government. Do the American people really want the possiblity of having the Commander in Chief of the US having a degree in journalism as opposed to at least possessing a degree in LAW? Also, I graduated from a high school that had more students than the pop of Wassilla. Wake up, America–at least chose a candidate who has an EDUCATION! Also, a person does not have good character who distorts the truth and will say ANYTHING to get elected! A good spirit is just not enough! McCain apparently forgot what his mother should have taught him–don't put another person down so that you can look better. Surely people can see through this. And the ISSUES–I could go on and on-

I guess one way to make it to the White House – since the voters have consistently refused to vote for you during primaries – is to grab hold of rock star Obama's tails.

Biden does add at least a little credibility to the ticket in the experience area since the rock star has none. But, even at that, Biden’s record is absolutely abysmal.

What about this plagarism thing?? Sarah Palin's speech at he convention was written before she was even selected. Do you hear the candidates pay respects after each speech to the speechwriter who wrote it?

I'd love to see CNN cover more of Biden's "town halls" or speeches. He never gets enough coverage...the media is so "suck up" to Palin. Ok, her story's over...not much to tell about her at all...no real accomplishments...not everyone in alaska likes her anyway.

Let's have more coverage of Biden! Biden's such a down-to-earth, guy next door likable politician with tons of experience. I want to see more of his speeches on CNN.

I watched the program and thought you did a wonderful job. Joe Biden is a wonderful family man and a wonderful asset to the US Senate. He will make a wonderful VP. You really did get the better of the two to report on. When I watched Palin's, I thought it was like watching her High School accomplishments, whereas with Biden's, It was mostly about his long political career. It's very interesting to see some of the comments below. I just feel as if some of these people didn't even take the time to watch any of the documentaries. With some of their comments, they are so one sided and won't step out of the box to really see what kind of change could really take place for this nation. Again, Very good Job on the documentaries.

Was it a Communist owned one, or a Democratic one ? 2.- Do either of you men know a Man named Frank Davis who lives in Hawaii and who he 'mentored' in Communist beliefs in Poetry ?.... 3.- Do either of you know what company in Australia was to receive 12 million dollars in duty free tariffs for their toxic chemical shipments if Obama's bills passed ? 4.- Have either of you used the 'Present' vote anytime during your political terms, and if so, how many ? 5.- Can each of you write down on the paper in front of you the size of a Company, Brigade, Batallion, and Division of personnel ? 6.- Do either of you support abortion up to the ninth month of pregnancy? 7.- If a breathing, feeding, crying baby, only covered by a mother's stomach or uterine tissue is decided to be a 'problem' in the future life of a mother or family, do you think it should receive a death sentence ?
8.- Have either of you been present at or assisted in an abortion of a pregnancy past the sixth month?

Based on everything I've read, here's what "makes her tick": she believes in creationism, thinks the Earth was created in 6 days, thinks Dinosaurs walked the Earth with man simultaneously, and thinks we are on a mission from God in Iraq, asked her constituents to "pray" for a gas pipeline (holy scary), and doesn't think man has anything to do with global warming. If there were a God, there is no way that he/she/it would let this lady gets to the white house. There is no place for someone who takes the bible literally and pretends that it is science to be running the most powerful country in the world.

Biden is a stud - just watch his interview on Meet the Press last week. Knowledgeable, nuanced, very sharp. Neither McCain nor Palin can hold a candle to him.

How can any Catholic vote against their Chuch's strictly held viewpoint on abortion by voting for Obama or Biden? Biden calls himself a Catholic and receives communion even though he is for the murdering of innocent babies. ....All you need to do is talk to the numerous folks living and breathing today because their parents decided against abortion and for adoption. I would have voted for Biden for president. He was my first choice...the only one that, during the presidential debates had clear and direct answers, as well as, solutions for the problems that face this country. I think Obama was wise to choose him. What a great team!

I only give Sarah credit for the energy topic that is it. I don't care for her and will not be voting for her. She is not a real and coming from the heart. I trust my instincts about people. My instincts are that she will be Mccain's puppet on a string if they win. I am for a change and MCCain/Palin is not it.

I would without hesitating place Gov. Palin in charge of any national PTA organization to coordinate events. Her cutesy smile, folksey way, winks as though she is saying "wasn't that a smart statement?" gives her all the credibility needed for that position on a national stage. She is not Presidential, Joe Biden is.

Joe Biden's totally qualified to be vice-president. And I trust his judgment. We know about Sen. Biden. But the more I know about Gov. Palin, the less I tend to like.

There aren't 25 words that can desribe Sarah Palin's entry into the national political scene, the whys, the what ifs, the right stuff. However, one perspective she brings to all of us is: "Who are those other guys". Three career politicans though at least McCain had another significant life. Obama, though escaping through his charisma and pure intellect, is just another taking the Biden track. Biden, to his credit, got on the train early, as early as he could. Why, after 35 years of running nothing more complicated than his own office(s) are folks so impressed that he can name the leaders of most of the relevant countries in the world. It's like 35 years of university without taking the courses for credit but simply auditing them. I submit that theres a large double digit proportion of Americans that could be equally as adept at whatever Joe does as he is and that certainly includes Sarah Palin who's got to be the poster girl for multi-tasking.
It's to our shame that we don't see this and neither do we focus on the fact that GW may have only a 25% approval rating (HST's was lower shortly before he left office and he was the SP of his day) and 'overlook' the startling fact that Congress, as a whole, including the three white guys on the ticket favorability rating is single digits. (Are they dragging down GW or is GW lifting their ratings?

I have to admit, I was quite ignorant of all the presidential candidates except for Obama and Clinton. I wonder how my opinions of other politicians would have changed if similar documentaries were done for them (or if I had watched them).
I have a lot of respect for Ms. Boudreau. CNN is quite lucky to have her on board. I'm looking forward to more special investigations by her. I wish she and Ms. Brown would go after more people who needs to be exposed (and not just Palin and Fuld).

Joe Biden has been in congress for some time now. He is down to earth and he is very knowledgeable about so many issues and how Congress works. He is not like most Congress people or any of the others running for President (Obama and McCain)or even Palin running for VP. when it comes to assets and huge amounts of money. He is modest in financial worth because he is not interested in that but in American people which I thought was his job anyway in Congress. What a refeshing thought that he would be VP and let Obama know how it all is supposed to work.. Joe Biden is not liberal like Obama and believe me if he sees Obama make a bad judgement he will pull back on the raines to correct it. He isn't said to be out spoken by accident!
