Some love consumes you, some love destroys you, and some never lets you go.
I should’ve known better, should’ve seen it coming.
Yet I listened to my heart and fell for him anyway.

My life is only beginning. A new school in a new city- my dreams within reach.
And then I met a hot musician and my world spun in a different direction.

As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t stay away.
Nor did he let me.
His love was sweet and irresistible.
He showed me the city I loved, the music I craved, the words I needed, and the power of believing in myself.

He drew me into his world and down we fell.
Until it all became too much.
Until I knew I had to make the hardest decision of my life.

I had to walk away.

*Warning- ends on a cliffhanger

“Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you?” E. Presley

It was so beautiful watching Levi and Raina falling in love! 💘💘
Levi was a sophomore while Raina was a freshman, both studying music at the same university. He was a singer, played the guitar, while both of them wrote lyrics.

Raina was a lovely character, strong and brave.
Levi...oh Levi... his burden was tough and although he found his muse in Raina and fell hard for her, his “weakness” wouldn’t let him enjoy their journey.

It was very well written, endearing, kept my interest throughout the story, dual pov, vibrantly paced.

I didn’t expect this cliffhanger at the end and how much it wrecked me...

Book 1 in the new series You and Me and it was such a great start to the series. Loved this story. Levi and Raina will steal your heart, have you falling in love with them and then break your heart in two. I can’t wait for book 2 and see how their story ends. Highly recommend this story but be forewarned, it will end on a cliffhanger. You have been warned. I need the next book in the series.

I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Levi stole my heart from the beginning. His and Raina's insta love and connection made me love him more. His inner demons and struggles broke my heart by the end.

This book was perfect. Simply perfect. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Lyssa knocked it out that park with this one.

Sometimes love isn't enough to fight our inner demons. Reina, on the cusp of her collegiate life meets Levi the brooding musician. Theirs is an insta-connection and it is sweet to watch them fall in love. Behind the scenes, Levi is hiding secrets and spiraling out of control. In order to help Levi, Reina must make the ultimate sacrifice. The highs are high, and the lows are low. I am definitely invested in this story and this couple.

Reina is excited to be going to NYCU, it has always been her dream, her roommate has lived in NYC her whole life and they become great friends, although completely different. One day she meets Levi and the sparks are instant between the two.

Levi is broken although he can’t see it, but his demons are constantly there and at first being with Reina helps, but sadly his addition to alcohol are stronger.

The love between the two is strong, but after one night when secrets are spilt Reina knows she has only once choice to make, and although it kills her, she knows she has to do it to help the love of her love Levi.

This ends on a cliffhanger, so I can’t wait for the next book. It was a great read and I couldn’t put it down.

I’m not usually one who enjoys an Insta-love romance but this one had me hooked. It was fast paced without skimming over the details, the characters relationship developed flawlessly and I LOVED the supporting characters.

This was my first by Lyssa Cole and I look forward to reading more of her work.

This story has the most perfect build up and burn that led me to one of my most addictive reads. Levi is the most broken soul who find Raina and they seem to be two puzzle pieces which fit perfect together. Slowly as the rock star life style builds up for Levi you are taken on an emotional roller coaster. My heart is broken in 1000 pieces right now with this incredibly powerful read.

Raine has always dreamed of living in New York City and studying at NYU. She doesn't want any distractions in her life and wants to concentrate only on her studies and lyrics writing...
On one night of fun with her roommate Mable, she meets a musican...a lead singer in a Band...Levi.
They instantly form a bond between them. But there is something, Levi is hiding from her which has the potential to ruin all they have worked for together.

This boy captured my heart in so many ways, and I find myself falling further and further into his world, drunk on him and his love.

The book started as a sweet romantic love story but in the end took a really dangerous turn...
Their first meeting...the instant love connection was just so adorable... But everything looks good at first ..the main challenges comes afterward... The addiction Levi has for Alcohol destroys their relationship. The lies, the betrayal... All were the decision taken by a man who is drunk with his addictions...

I grew up watching, reading, dreaming, writing about love. And now, here I am. In my very own fairy tale. With the man I love.

Overall, I love binge reading this book...I remember laughing at some point but as the book comes to an end...I was left a sobbing mess...

Raina was so excited to be moving to New York, starting college and moving forward in the next chapter of her life. Ready for adventure and to get the kick start needed for her music. Her love for writing is strong, her dreams are big. She knows that focus is key for her this year but when she meets Levi the draw is strong. Will she be able to balance everything?

This is his year, Levi has to get his shit together and make things happen this time. Still suffering the emotional heartbreak that was caused by his mothers death. Turning to alcohol to calm his thoughts. Meeting Raina has given him a new kind of inspiration but will it be enough? Will he hold it together or will the call of addiction in a world where it is everywhere be too much?

Watching these characters fall in love so fast and hard was sweet. But soon enough the life of party's and rock stars begins to pull Levi a little too far down the rabbit whole. Will he claw his way out? Will Raina's tough love work or is this the end all too soon?

Starting college should be the time to make new friends and have your future in your grasp. When Raina meets Levi they instantly connect over their love of music - she writes lyrics and he is the musician to make it all come alive. When the pressures of his band's instant stardom begin to be too much Levi's inner demons come out to play. Can Raina's love and support help him get through the baggage? Or will it all be too much for her to deal with. With beautifully written characters the reader feels like they are walking along their path. Each turn of the page locks you in and the highest of highs and the lowest of lows is an emotional journey that you have to read to understand. i cannot wait to see where this storyline goes.

Oh wow what a fantastic story from this arthur. Everytime I read one of her stories I'm pulled into the story until the end this one was no different.
Raina is a writes music lyrics that she has come to NYC to get the full effect of city life and write through her experiences. Levi is a musician who is struggling this year because of something that happened last year he knows he can't have any screw ups this year or he's out. This is the kind of story that warms your heart while you watch boy and girl fall in love, but like every love story there's struggles as well as demon's to battle can they face it together or will it divide them?
This is definitely a must read. I can't wait for book 2.

Lovin' You was a quick and enjoyable read. It was a beautiful story about Raina and Levi who meet while in college and have an instant connection. They both fall hard and fast and it would honestly be the most beautiful love story. But things aren't always as perfect as they seem.
Levi struggles with an addiction to alcohol and with the added pressures of school and his band, next thing you know, things are spiraling out of control. As beautiful as this story is, it is also incredibly heartbreaking. It is an emotional journey that leaves you with an ending that will have your heart cracked in two. I need book 2 asap!!!!

Wow! This story is all kinds of feels. The intensity of falling for another person. The complications that can arise in a relationship. It was all too real and I loved every moment. Raina is a freshman in college, just wanting to experience New York and all it has to offer. Levi is a sophomore, wanting to peruse his dreams of being in a band. When they collide, it's so intense. I can't wait to see how their story ends!

This is the first in a new series and is Levi and Raina’s story. These two are drawn to each other over their mutual love of music. Levi is struggling to deal with a huge loss and is spiralling out of control and deals with it the only way he knows how to. Raina supports him but it gets to the stage as with any addiction tough love needs to be acted upon. My heart broke for them both. This is a well written story which had me hooked and intrigued throughout, and I cannot wait for #2.

Lovin' You is beautifully written. You'll fall hard for Levi and Raina but then you'll also crumble with them. Love is never easy. Sometimes it takes one person to just step back and reset the relationship. Now it depends if they were truly in love and can overcome the past. I can't wait for book two.

Ahhhh Insta Love! Lyssa Cole writes a wonderful introductory book to her You & Me series.

This series features freshman Rania who is just starting out at NYU and Levi, a some what surly sophomore at NYU.

Lovin’ You is our kick off and introduction. It reads quickly..just be warned. The brakes hit quickly and you’re on a cliff!

Rania and Levi are both music lovers. Rania is introduced to us as she pulls into the city singing her heart out to her favorite song. She may not have the pipes - but she’s got the words.
Levi is a bit more of a mystery. Moving back to the city with a long time friend and roomie, Drew, we see a peek into a cold and difficult home where Levi is leaving a neglectful father and his younger brother. Adding to Levi’s past are multiple comments regarding “last year”, fighting, an arrest and a band. Finally, a loss of a parent. This guy is carrying all the heavy stuff.

Chance encounter number one has our leads bumping into each other on the street and catching their eyes. Ever have the moment where you feel a pull or connection to an utter stranger? Or can’t get that person out of your mind? That’s Raina and Levi.

Chance encounter number two occurs when Raina and her roomie crash auditions for a new band. Drunk Raina and nervous Levi just click.

Each has their own, good reasons, to want to ease into any sort of relationship slowly...however these two are fire and once they start it just burns.

As I mentioned, this is book one in a series. We have a great character lead up, character development is wonderfully layered both as individuals and within coupledom. There is insightful world building and finally sidekick characters who begin to elbow into the story and speak up.

There is also a spreading of wings as Levi’s new band picks up notice, he teaches Raina how to play piano and they begin to write together. Things are good. There are sparks of life, hope and joy.

Sadly, all that glitters and all of that. Levi IS still hiding a dark and troubled soul. We see the beginnings of and then his fall into alcoholism. We learn bits of his past. His new band mates aren’t all sunshine and happiness. Drew is trying to hold Levi up, but acting as spokesman for the band, running interference, and being a student as well - Drew begins to look a little worn and frayed.

Raina is worried as well. She keeps it inside for a bit, but little things build up, worry from Drew worries her and eventually the light is on the problem.

It’s a lot of real world pressure and real world problems for two struggling teens in a high stress situation.

We leave our lyricist and our rocker at a crucial and painful point.

What I do know is that Raina is one kick butt strong female character. She loves hard, but listens to her gut. She makes hard choices to protect herself and Levi. These are choices that grown adults struggle with. Lyssa writes of a 19 year old taking that weight on so beautifully and heart wrenchingly. You will shed tears. You’ve been warned.

Levi is starting to pull his life back into itself. Raina is clearly his rock, but his drinking, quick temper and family life are an ugly storm inside of him that’s just starting to brew as we close this book.

And then...the pages stop

I. Am. Hooked.

Typically I’m not a series or a duet reader. I like my stories to open and close within their covers. This one though....Raina and Cole are stuck in my head. I want to hug Raina and tell her she’s so strong and so brave. I want to shake Levi and tell him he needs to figure it out. Find a person. Use his words. I want to point out to Drew little things... ugh! Clearly my head is in this world. It sucks you in.

Lyssa, please don’t break my heart in Ghosting You (book 2 and out later this summer)

I’m trusting you with this Ms. Cole!

The love of music is on display in this book that will grab you from the very first page to its ending that leaves you longing for more. Along the way readers will find themselves on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, a journey full of heartbreak and harsh reality as an immensely appealing main couple struggles to find themselves and their HEA.

Set in the college world, where everything seems possible, Raina and Levi make an instant connection. Their mutual love of music and lyrics binds them together in a beautiful story that ultimately brings Levi’s broken psyche to the forefront. As the story progresses things take unexpected twists and turns, captivating readers while putting them through the emotional wringer alongside the main couple. The romance between these two grows steadily from their unforgettable first meeting, turns sweet and sensual, but with the weight of his past and future on him Levi has them taking a damaging turn. Readers will ache over what comes next but I applaud Raina (and the author) for the hard decision made, a decision that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.

Raina’s a wonderful heroine, easy to relate to, and I loved seeing her joy in getting to experience all that New York has to offer. She quickly immersed herself in the exciting big city culture and it added to my delight of her interactions with her friend Mable, which were reminiscent of my own college years. She’s a strong-willed young woman who’s a strong support to Levi from the moment they meet in a crackling connection that had me rooting for them every step of the way. She can only support him so much though before she’ll end up broken herself. To truly prove her love she’ll have to make a heartbreaking decision that brought a tear to my eye but made their romance even more believable. Levi’s a very likable hero who longs to make music for a living. He’s had a difficult past and is determined to do better this year in school than last year. Meeting Raina seems like a good start to the new school year and together things seem perfect. It’s not long though before his past and his band’s burgeoning success starts to bring him down. All the pain from his past comes to rest on his shoulders and it’s not long before the alcohol starts to ruin the connection he has to Raina, before she has to make a very tough decision that will change everything for them. I was drawn to Levi from the very start, drawn to his perfectly imperfect personality, and all I wanted to do was hug him. I was often left with a tear in my eye, but I appreciated this story for its realism in handling such a serious topic which is still in my thoughts.

This book is an unforgettable beginning to this couple’s story, an angsty and romantic tale that pulled at my heartstrings and kept me frantically turning the pages to see where things would go for them next. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride from the first page to the last and I was captivated by each low and every high and rooted for this couple even though I sensed things wouldn’t end as I’d hoped. Those who dislike cliffhangers will be frustrated by the ending of this story, but the narrative and characters are well-worth any frustrations you may have by the end as this is an epic love story. Though my heart’s a bit bruised right now, I’m definitely counting down the days until the next installment in this series hits bookshelves with an ending that I KNOW will have made all the angst worthwhile!

I always get excited about reading one of Lyssa Cole’s books because I know how passionate she is with her writing and every time she just nails it. Yet again she has done an amazing job and I love how she has mixed real life in with this story, it has a strong powerful message and I love how Lyssa always manages to do that with her books. She makes you think about the what if’s, the maybe’s, what you could be going through or possibly for someone who is struggling a way out and a way to get help. Lyssa is seriously talented and her words always hit home whenever I pick up her books, I may not have gone through some of the experiences myself, but it’s good to actually read about the situations that people can go through every day, but at the same time she manages to combine it all into a beautifully flowing story that you can’t help but want to keep on reading. A lot happens in this book, but the twists and the emotions that you read about are so worth it and I just want more from it. I will say that the way Lyssa ended it was cruel, but I’m not going to go into details as honestly that would ruin the whole thing. But what I will say is that there is more to come from this series, and I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on it.
I loved everything about this book, Rai and Levi are the perfect characters and you can see that Levi has his struggles but he has such a big heart. I honestly couldn’t picture this any differently. There was nothing to fault, I was hooked from the very first page and I know that if Lyssa keeps up her writing the way it is, she is only just going to grow stronger as an author.
I would highly recommend that you go ahead and start the series today, there’s more to come that you won’t want to miss out on.

Rai has dreams of becoming the best songwriter out there that she can imagine, and right now she’s off to NYU to study and chase her dreams. What could be better than that???
Everything is going well, but the flow of writing her lyrics just isn’t happening, so after her roommate takes her to a place where she can possibly find her flow again, she gets drunk enough that she does something completely bold and way out of her comfort zone….. She kisses a guy she doesn’t even know, but she remembers seeing his eyes somewhere but can’t place where….
Levi is in his third year at NYU and this time he’s planning on doing things differently, but that seems to change when he gets kissed out of the blue by this amazingly cute girl…. He can’t get her out of his head, but in a way he knows that she might be the missing piece to his life…. He’s getting ready to audiotn to be in a band for the best music producer around and he doesn’t want to mess it up.
Will things work out for the two of them, or will they never see each other again? Will they get their dreams or is there something set to take it away from them???

Raina packs her belongings and heads to New York City with a dream in her heart, and stars in her eyes, she cannot wait to see what the city holds for her. She is a little nervous though to, since she is basically on her own in the big city, she left her family behind to attend her dream college. But then she meets her new roommate and a friendship quickly blooms, Mable is determined to teach Raina everything she knows about the city... that includes all the city's hotspots. While out exploring the two of them run across a place holding rock band auditions, so they decide to sneak in and check out the musical talent.

While finding a place to sit Raina literally bumps into a sexy stranger, and the moment their skin touches fireworks ignite, Levi is the kind of man naughty dreams are made of. Sexy raspy voice, gorgeous from head to toe, and he knows how to handle a guitar... he has trouble written all over him! But that doesn't stop Raina, if anything it fuels the fire, he is quite possibly the perfect guy for her... or is he?

Lovin' You is a story of new beginnings, finding love, conquering dreams, and embracing the unknown. Raina went to New York to accomplish her musical dreams, and embrace all the city had to offer and it gave her Levi. She never expected love to be a part of her new life in the city, knowing she needed to focus on her studies, but once she met him she couldn't let him go. Their instant connection spawned a beautiful relationship, but little did Raina know Levi had some lingering demons that were about to wreck everything they had begun to build. Watching these two come so close to having everything and then having one little thing threaten to take it all away was pure torture, my heart broke for them. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these two, hopefully some much needed healing and happiness. I really enjoyed this one, the words were so darn addictive, once I cracked the cover I could not bring myself to put it down. The pages of Lovin' You are littered with romance, angst, drama, emotion... all the things necessary for a perfect heart-squeezing literary escape! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Levi and Raina’s story captivated me from the beginning.
They meet by chance and from the first moment they can’t stop thinking about each other, total insta-love.
As time goes by, their relationship strengthens and their love for music brings them closer together.
Raina writes songs while Levi is in a band and has the chance to make it big, if it weren’t for his drinking problems.
His last year of high school Levi loses his mother and he spends the year getting into fights and partying hard. His relationship with his little brother Tyler has suffered and his relationship with his alcoholic father is not good at all. But he has his friend Drew and now Raina, who is the only one who seems to calm his need to drink. Or at least at the beginning bc that in the end is what dynamites their relationship, even knowing that they are soul mates.
I’m dying to read the next book and see how the story continues.
I totally recommend the book.

“A high unlike any other and only from my lyrics. My words. That’s when music became a part of me. A part of my soul. Now, they’re gone. My muse is gone.”

Ms Cole is a new to me author, who wrote a beautifully tainted story of young love, empty promises and broken dreams. Perfectly imperfect characters, an interesting plot that had me turning the pages until I came to the cliffhanger ending. My heart broke for Levi as he struggles to find clarity.

Raina has a new beginning in New York as a college student. She’s a guarded and private, but her new room mate helps bring her out of her shell. Finding herself inebriated and on her ass with those eyes she hasn’t been able to get off her mind looking down at her. Raina does something out of character and falls down the rabbit hole with a rockstar. Levi has a beautiful heart and good intentions, the last thing he wants is to let anyone down. However, he becomes distracted by the girl with almond eyes and welcomes the reprieve from his nightmare.

Wow! This new to me author has made me a fan for sure. Lovin You is beautifully written and the author did an amazing job making me fall in love with Levi and Raina story from every high to every low. Their story is a beautiful love story that is full of every emotion. I loved these two from the very beginning and all their imperfections. I am so invested in their story and can not wait to get my hands on the next book. The cliffhanger has left me so freaking heartbroken for these two and I just have to know what happens. I am rooting for these two to get their happily ever after. So glad that I took a chance on this new to me author.

Happy Reading Everyone!!!

Oh. My. Marx. My. Heart.

This is such a quick read, but it knocked me out emotionally.

It's the story between Levi and Reina, music students who meet and have a hot and quick connection. Levi has just started in a band and this as well as other struggles at home really play on his mind.

Levi has demons. Reina wants to help.

But will love be enough?

I did NOT know what to expect from this and I got everything I didn't know I needed. I need book 2 right now.

I received an ARC fro review and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.

What a start to the series! So many feels are packed in this book. I love Reina and Levi so hard! Levi is sweet and sexy and is trying to get his life back on track after a rough year. Reina is in her first week at NYU when she meets Levi. They fall hard and fast. Their connection is so intense that they almost lose themselves in each other. Levi is battling some pretty bad demons that forces Reina to make a difficult decision. The cliffhanger ending that will break your heart. I have a feeling this series will be a crazy emotional ride. Bring on book 2!!
