Electric aviation celebrates another milestone – maiden flight of all-electric Cessna 208B Grand Caravan. As for now it is the largest all-electric passenger aircraft which has ever taken off.

The completion of a successful initial flight was announced by magniX, the company powering the eCaravan, and AeroTEC, an aerospace testing, engineering and certification company.

eCaravan magnified by a 750-horsepower (560 kW) magni500 propulsion system lifted off the ground at the AeroTEC Flight Test Center at the Grant County International Airport (KMWH) in Moses Lake, Washington.

“This first flight of the eCaravan is yet another step on the road to operating these middle-mile aircraft at a fraction of the cost, with zero emissions, from and to smaller airports,” said Roei Ganzarski, CEO of magniX.
