From bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes a funny accidental marriage story about a loss, luck, and a little bit of chance...

What happens in Vegas…
A regret-free girls’ weekend was supposed to help Carrie Bishop forget about her last relationship and cross-country move. Because when you’ve lost everything, letting loose is easy.

James Arden knew the stakes in Vegas were high, but saving a beautiful blonde at a Blackjack table wasn’t the kind of risk he thought he’d be taking.

Unfortunately, there’s only one recipe for Vegas. One part instant connection. Two parts too much alcohol. A splash of scavenger-hunt serendipity. Shake and enjoy.

Until Carrie wakes to a ring on her finger and a marriage certificate tying her to the illegible signature of a man who’s gone.

It was supposed to be just one night, but now she doesn’t even know her last name.

Coming home married was bad, but walking into work the next day was worse. Carrie’s mistake didn’t stay in Vegas, and her mystery husband is no longer a mystery: he’s her new boss.

James knows what they have is special, and he’ll do anything to prove it. And as their undeniable attraction ups the ante, Carrie hopes she can get back her name without losing her heart in the process.

Carrie works at an hotel on the Lake Tahoe, but she risks to lose her job now that the hotel was sold. She accepts to follow some collegues to Las Vegas to forget her problems. James is the CEO of his family company that acquires hotels in trouble.
They meet at the Bellagio and they like each other on the spot, James helps Carrie with her scavenger hunt and they end the beautiful night in her room after they swung by a wedding chaple. Unfortunately next morning Carrie wakes up alone in her bed but thanks to a signed marriage paper she realises she is married now to a man who left her without saying any words. When Carrie goes back to work she finds out that her husband is her new boss now.

“Life is like business,” he replied. “You constantly have to make sure the people in it are a benefit rather than a drag...and sometimes, you have to cut the excess weight.”

I have heard some good things about Dr. Rebecca Sharp previous novels so I decided to start Last Name as soon as it was available and I have devoured it in a few hours.
I have really enjoyed this easy, quick and enterteining story.

This was a feel good, cute romance that had a ton of steam. I have been enjoying this Country Love Collection where the author takes a Country Song and turns it into a book, this one is loosely based on Last Name by Carrie Underwood.

If you read the blurb for the story you know Carrie was on a Scavenger Hunt with her friends and oh the fun things they had to do, it was great, I think I am going to make a list and have a ball the next time I'm in Vegas, only I wont be waking up married to someone I don't know like Carrie did. LOL

Last Name is my first time reading Rebecca Sharp and let me say I am now a fan girl !
I love the what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas books and this one was so much fun!
Carrie is on a work girls weekend that also includes a scavenger hunt. When she gets left behind by the group she is rescued by handsome stranger.
James is doing his bachelor party duty but when he sees a beautiful woman in a bit of distress he jumps right in to help. James and Carrie take off on a scavenger hunt that leads to oh so much more. A chapel, a veil, and a quick wedding....and a severe case of misunderstandings and oh so many questions !
This couple has so much chemistry and fabulous banter. I loved them individually but put them together and it was oh so fabulous.
When the real world places them front and center. Carrie finds out that James is not just a nice guy that also she happens to be married too but he is now the new owner of her resort and her really hot smart sexy boss. This is quite the predicament !!! I truly loved watching this relationship unfold and become something so much more than a Vegas fling !

This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be my last, if you are looking for a quick, fun entertaining read that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat look no further than Last Name : A Mistaken Marriage Stand-alone Romance.
Carrie Bishop is in Vegas for a regret free girls weekend, she is meant to be forgetting about her last lover and a cross country move because let’s be honest what happens in Vegas is meant to stay in Vegas so why not let lose and have some fun.....
James Arden wasn’t meant to be at that Blackjack table in fact he wasn’t even meant to be in the casino and he knew he was risking a lot when he went to Carrie’s rescue. An instant attraction drew him to that table and that’s when the fun begins, lots of alcohol and a scavenger hunt end up at the local Wedding Chapel and I think you have guessed what happens next.
What do you do when you wake up with a ring on your finger, a missing partner and a marriage certificate with an illegible signature, well you try and move on but that becomes hard to do when you find out your new boss is the man you married whilst having some fun in Sin City.....
Fate works in mysterious ways and it seems to want Carrie and James to be together but Carrie needs to learn to trust again because this is man walked out on her once before. Things are not always what they seem and James needs to be honest with Carrie about what happened that night but will she trust everything he tells her....
I loved this book, I loved the character, I loved the story and I certainly need to read more by this very talented author, I laughed, I smiled and I swooned through this quick read, it’s a gem of a read so all that’s left for me to say is one click this entertaining romance .

Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, sexy romance by a new-to-me author.

"Heart hammering, blood pounding, my hands itching to touch...to memorize a man I'd only just met."

Carrie Bishop is in Vegas for the weekend to let her hair down before facing redundancy at work on Monday. When a handsome stranger saves her dignity and helps her complete a scavenger hunt - one that ends in a fake marriage at a wedding chapel. One incredible night later and she wakes up alone to the realisation that there was nothing fake about their marriage.

"The strangest part of it all was that I wanted to find her, to find her. Not to lose her once again."

James Arden is desperate to find his wife. He never expects her to walk into his new office - the last employee to get the boot following his takeover. However, he manages to rope her into helping him with pre-wedding activities for his brother - buying him some time to convince her to give them a chance.

"Warmth and woman exploded against my tongue as it delved into her mouth, tasting temptation and thrill with every stroke."

This was such a fab story! I adored Carrie and James' whirlwind tour of Vegas and their scavenger hunt. I loved his determination to win her over, how sexy he found her, and how protective and caring he was of her. They had sizzling chemistry - it was tangible thing between them. Carrie had some serious hang-ups with good reason, but I adored her likeable, beautiful personality. I can't wait to catch up with this author's other books.

Another 5 Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ masterpiece from Dr. Rebecca Sharp!! ‘Last Name’ started off fun and existing, and continued on that path throughout the entire story.

Carrie and James meet by chance in Las Vegas and have an immediate spark; an undeniable connection. Carrie was in Las Vegas for a ‘girls weekend’, and was supposed to be completing a scavenger hunt, when she got separated from the girl pack. James offers to help her finish the tasks on her list, with the last being a picture together dressed up in an all night wedding chapel. What could go wrong??

Carrie wakes up alone in a hotel room the next morning and soon comes to the horrible realization that she slept with a man she just met....and married him. They never even exchanged last names.

“It was only supposed to be a fling, but now I didn’t even know my last name”

‘Last Name’ is a cute romance story that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Dr. Rebecca Sharp has fast become one of my favorite authors. This new release did not disappoint! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Last Name by Rebecca Sharp was a cute feel good romance with lots of intense emotions! This story was sexy with witty fun. This story was heartaching beauty with incredible chemistry between James and Carrie!

Rebecca Sharp is bringing innovative romance ideas in this series of small town romance standalones! This was a fake marriage office romance trope! Carrie Bishop is sure of losing her job as the hotel in Lake Tahoe where she worked has been acquired by some rich man. She grabbed the opportunity to spend the weekend in Vegas forgetting her worries with her work friends. Little did she know, she will meet a charming stranger there and spend the night in grand Vegas adventure and end up getting drunk married. Only to find on Monday that the stranger aka her husband is new owner of her workplace, James Arden. James is all in but Carrie is hesitant. Is this a recipe for disaster?

I loved James Arden with all my heart. A man who is the true white knight. A man who has the biggest heart ever and cannot help but save the troubled souls. He will shoulder the pain and responsibilities to protect people he cares about. And he has this mesmerising, charming, arrogant and bossy side. He turns into this irresistble sex machine! Carrie is a sweet character with adorable quirks and a little bit of sass. Her past is dark and complex one where her life was demolished in a similar situation. But she has to let this amazing man in! They have electrifying chemistry. This was a rollercoaster of swoons and angst and steam! I loved the detailed secondary characters like James' evil ex Lynn, his brother Lars, Lars' fiance Suzanne who is always Team Carrie, his mother and so many more!

Rebecca Sharp's brilliant writing brought every emotion to life! Last Name was a heartfelt romance that will fill your heart with all the hot and sweet feels!

Last Name by Rebecca Sharp is, by far, one of the best books I've read this summer.

It's so easy to fall in love with Rebecca's storytelling till the point where you keep coming back for more. With Last Name, you'll be tranfixed to a world full of emotions, funny moments, unexpected situations and the perfect HEA.

My wife had yet to learn I didn't give up easily on the things I wanted

Ohh my poor ovaries. James Arden melted my heart from day one. That sweet smile, that heart of gold and that knight-in-shining-armor complex, sealed the deal. He may had marry in the most impulsive way but he won't let Carrie go without a fight. Even if he has to sacrifice all in order to keep her by his side.

Betting on his love was worth any risk

I honestly loved Carrie's personality. She is determined, strong, adventurous, kind, loyal but guarded. After all the disappointments she got in her life, it's not easy for her to really believe there is a HEA in her future. But finding James may be what she always needed. Someone who could fight for her even when she wants to give up.

The chemistry between James and Carrie is off the charts, but it's not an easy journey for them. They need to really know and understand each other's past to grow and find real happiness.

Last Name is a sweet and enchanted read that will make your heart beat faster and will put a smile on your face from beginning to end.

I totally recommend this book to anyone who wants a sweet, beautiful and sexy story.

Last Name is the latest book to be released by Dr. Rebecca Sharp and what a cute, romantic story. When anything starts with: What happens in Vegas… can only lead to an adventure and some good stories to tell. I have never personally been to vegas yet, but after reading this story I can't wait and I will be doing my own scavenger hunt throughout the strip.

Carrie is on a girls weekend in Vegas. But when James steps in to help a damsel in distress, things take a turn for the worse or maybe the better? But to when you mix to much alcohol and fun together and wake up with a ring on you left hand and the one night stand gone, what can you do? From there we are taken on a a series of unfortunate events that may not be that unfortunate. Especially when walking into work the next day to find your new boss is non other than the man with a matching ring. And let the drama begin.

This story is one of the easy to read, heartfelt, minimal drama, hea, stories that you just want to swoon over. But don't get me wrong, there are those moments, that have give you all the feels and didn't see that coming situations.

Great story. approximately 170ish pages. Dueling point of views.

What happens in Vegas...is a HEA

I've said it before...I love stories where something happens in Vegas. This one was no exception.

This is the first book I've read from Rebecca. I am definitely going to read more. I loved Carrie and James and their journey to HEA.

In Vegas for a girls' weekend with her co-workers, Carrie finds herself seperated from them and she meets James who proceeds to help her check off her scavenger hunt list and a little more!

Mind you, marrying someone at a Vegas wedding chapel drive thru wasn't expected. The even bigger surprise comes when she's back at work expecting to be fired by the new boss and it turns out to be her one night stand hubby.

James certainly didn't expect the woman he can't get out of his head since Vegas to be standing in his office to be let go.

A very enjoyable romantic comedy full of wit, steam, feels, and a very determined smitten hubby. He just has to overcome her concerns since she'd been burned before.

James and Carrie hit a few bumps on their journey, but in the end they win against the odds.

I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I loved this book; it was a quick and easy read, but it kept me entertained the whole time. One second, I was laughing so hard then the next James had me swooning so hard. James and Carrie meet in a very unconventional way when he saves her in a casino in Vegas being groped by a guy and James steps in the save her. Once she is saved her and James spend time together doing a scavenger hunt through Vegas and James being the ultimate gentleman and attracted to Carrie decides to help her, but they end up with more than they bargain for after a fun crazy night. Carrie wakes up alone to find out she is married but she doesn’t even know James’ last name. In a turn of events they are reunited, and things heat up again even if Carrie fights it hard. These two are funny and amazing characters and James is determined to keep her even if Carrie doesn’t think it’s a good idea, but can their pasts come back to haunt them and end things before they even get started?

Last Name by Dr. Rebecca Sharp is a light, flirty, sweetheart story. This is Carrie and James's story.
Theirs is a story about two strangers who meet up by accident in Las Vegas. Really, it was a beautiful story about two people who were meant for one another and this is their love story. I don’t want to spoil anything with giving any spoilers away but "What Happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" doesn't always stay true.
Will Carrie and James get the fated HEA or will a secret that James has been keeping come back to hurt him and this life he wants. This is a great story- full of feels, fun, romantic, heat, great characters, humor, and just flirty feel good reading I like.

I've received an ARC from the author before, and I've read some of her books as well...

I've read the blurb and it was definitely enticing... Then I got curious on what happens to Carrie and James next.

The storyline isn't something I haven't read before, but I enjoyed it.

As I was reading, I kept on thinking that this book would be awesome to watch as a Hallmark movie. It has everything... it was quirky, sexy and funny.

It's a feel-good story to read after a stressful day!

Rebecca Sharps latest book ‘Last Name’ will not disappoint!

Carrie is on a girl’s weekend in Vegas and they plan a scavenger hunt throughout the strip. She goes with work colleagues as a big splurge, as they feel they are all at threat of redundancy as their hotel is being taken over on the Monday. Her friends keep moving on to the next part of the hunt and so she has to play catch up. She meets James who steps in to help a damsel in distress, things take a turn for the worse re her friends as they always are on the next challenge and James ensures she hits her list with him being the saviour! The end up drinking and the last challenge leads to trouble for both of them! She wakes up with a ring on you left hand and no James. She assumes he’s done a runner, so she leaves too.

James is frustrated he could not find his bride after he returned to her room and he launches a hunt with PI’s to find her!

On the Monday she is due to meet her new boss to get fired, when he discovers his new wife is the last team member on his hit list. He can’t and won’t fire he and hires her to be the events coordinators for his brother’s wedding.

They start their journey together and realise they really like each other. Lot of turns of events which make this book enjoyable and hard to put down! I do not want to ruin anything.

This is a great book, well worth the read, I read this book as an ARC for jo&isalovebooks blog and promised to give my honest opinion.

Not having read any other works by Rebecca Sharp before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Last Name. Needless to say, this second chance accidental marriage story was hilarious and incredibly romantic.

What started out as a girls’ weekend in Vegas, turned out to be so much more for thirty-one-year old, Carrie Bishop. After relocating her whole life to move to Lake Tahoe from New Jersey, Carrie thought she was done with the unfortunate events coming her way. So when she gets the opportunity to go to Vegas with her co-workers, she says yes to letting loose. Little did she know that she was going to end up seeing Las Vegas for the first time with a handsome stranger who safes her from yet another incident at a Blackjack table. It would be their late night scavenger-hunt that would take them all over sin city as they cross out various tasks that she needs to get done. But it would be the next morning when she discovers that she got married to a complete stranger and she doesn’t even know his last name. To her surprise, she would end up finding her mysterious husband at her job and as her new boss. Carrie moved left everything behind in New Jersey, a past that she still coping to overcome and marring her now boss could threaten her future or brake her heart once again.

James Arden hasn’t always been wealthy, he has worked really hard to get to where he is yet his family always comes first. He is always saving everyone around him so when he sees a beautiful blonde at a Blackjack table, he offers to help her look for her friends. So they go around the city and James makes it his mission to show her a memorable time. But with too many drinks in their system, their night quickly moves to the next level and he ends up at her hotel. It would take the next morning to find out that he is married. There is something about Carrie that completely fascinates him and he is determined to find his mysterious wife and he does the minute he ends at his newest investment. He is shocked to see her, but he is not about to let her get away without giving their marriage a chance.

I loved this story! It was such a page-turner and swoon worthy. Although the idea of an accidental marriage in Vegas has been done so many times, Sharp was able to make her own twist to it and made it worked. We have Carrie, she is trying so desperately to move on from her past yet she finds herself making the same mistake and she needs to figure out if James is truly the one for her. On the other hand, James is the protective alpha male that everyone will love. He has worked hard to provide for his family and has gone to bigger lengths to make his brother’s wedding happen. It’s evident from the start that they both have such a great chemistry between them and their relationship grows the more they get to know each other. The Vegas scavenger-hunt was such a great idea and the ending truly comes full circle. All in all, the story had me hooked from beginning to end. I would highly recommend it, I cannot wait to read more from the author in the future. ;)

If you take nothing else away from this review, let it be this - you can't go wrong with a novel by Dr Rebecca Sharp. Each story she develops is unique, perfectly detailed and has just the right amount of swoony steaminess to leave delightful goosebumps all over your skin. Last Name says it's a romantic comedy - and it's funny, don't get me wrong, but sometimes romantic comedies get a mediocre reputation, and trust me, there is nothing mediocre about it.

Story Line: Carrie is our adorable heroine. She's funny, sweet, kind and pretty much the girl we all wish we had in our tribe. Carrie meets James in Vegas, which yes, seems a little cliche when you type it out like that. But their adventure is far from ordinary. This isn't just the story of a drunk night and what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Oh no. This is smoking hot, crazy zing chemistry from the moment these two lock eyes. And that finger tingle lasted the entire book. Folks, it's been a hot minute since a book was so dang good I had to finish it in one sitting. I was absolutely exhausted for work the next day - and I have zero regrets. SO GOOD.

Interaction: In order for me to flove a story, the characters have to have relatable chemistry. I know, I know. That's a tall order to fill. But RS does not disappoint. James and Carrie's story may sound like a crazy night they won't remember, but the true heart of Last Name is what happens afterwards. It's dedication. It's passion. It's true freaking love. Yes, this story has it's laugh out loud moments that may or may not have woken up Mr Laundry while he was trying to sleep next to me. But this story also made my tummy all warm and fuzzy. And why were all of those things so important? Because they made this love story soar above the rest. Carrie and James have big love - the love we dream of and hope we somehow come close to it. They remind us that sometimes the most unexpected things in life, can be everything we ever wished for.

Laundry: I don't like to do laundry and tell, but a certain scene in this book did spark a slight intermission to my reading marathon. Mr. Laundry most definitely benefited from the laundry in this book. And no, I'm not just saying that. James is pretty much the perfect fictional man. He's probably about to make the laminated book boyfriend list, to be honest. Yeah, he's THAT good.

Depth: Real talk here. I need my steamy love stories to have some meat on their bones. I need more than here's two people who fall in love. I'm nosy. I have to know back stories and figure out why people tick the way they do. And Last Name checks all those boxes. We learn so much about these characters that it feels like we are truly living amongst them. I could picture their offices, their homes, etc - like I was a resident and not living in good ol' Ohio. But you get where I'm going. Last Name is a fantastic story about taking a chance on love, and then taking another chance on keeping it.

Dr Rebecca Sharp has just catapulted herself straight into one click territory. From the very first page, I was hooked by Carrie and James’ romance. This is a story of overcoming past mistakes, learning to trust again and taking the leap of faith to follow your heart, and she absolutely nailed it! A beautiful story with engaging characters, a swoony alpha hero and a curvy, insecure heroine you can’t help but root for to get her happily ever after.

Who hasn’t been to Vegas with stars in their eyes, dreaming of meeting their ideal man and having a whirlwind courtship ending at a drive through chapel?.... No, just me? Well that was reality for Carrie. On a quick trip to Vegas with her colleagues before expecting to lose her job on her return. James is her saviour when another reveller gets a bit too handsy. Losing her friends along the way, James decides to keep Carrie safe whilst looking for them. The sparks fly from their very first meeting and the heat between them is tangible, you can feel every bit of the sexual tension, which eventually leads them back to the bedroom. Sadly, upon waking, Carrie finds herself alone... with a marriage certificate showing a signature she can’t decipher, losing her job becomes the least of her worries when she realises she doesn’t even know her last name. She needn’t worry though, come Monday she comes face to face with her new husband... and now, boss! James knew from the very first night, Carrie was the one for him, leaving her the morning after their accidental marriage wasn’t planned and there was nothing he could do, but now she’s back in his life, he’s determined to keep her there, but Carrie is determined to push him away, requesting an annulment, who will win the battle of the heart?

I devoured this story in just a few short hours, ignoring the world around me to escape into this one. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend you give it a go.

Carrie Bishop has come to Lake Tahoe after a bad breakup and is ready to get focused on her job as a recreation director at Lake Tahoe Resort and Casino but knows it is coming to an end when the hotel is sold. She heads to Las Vegas for a girls weekend when she is saved by a hot guy who helps her get away from a guy who is a little to hands on for her liking.
The night ends up being one of the best she has ever had but in the morning she finds herself with a ring on her finger and no groom in sight.
Yet Monday morning she discovers that her new husband is her new boss, James Arden and he’s right about to fire her!
This is another great book by this author and I continually laugh my way through her books!
I really liked Carrie and I loved that she moved clear across the country to begin her life again after catching her ex cheating on her. I liked that she was really trying to experience Vegas and I loved the idea of a scavenger hunt and I definitely think I need to do one next time I go down there.
James was a wonderful character and I loved the way he took Carrie under his wing and showed her all the sights of Vegas and stuck with her when she got separated from her friends. He was someone who really cared about his family and I was shocked at how far he went for his sister, Suzanne, to have her wedding where she did.
I loved when James and Carrie realized who the other was and the different reactions that each of them had. There were so many moments that made me laugh as Carrie didn’t want to be married to the boss but she also didn’t want to be fired either.
It was interesting to learn about the past relationships of both Carrie and James and how that played a role in what both were currently going through. I absolutely hated Lynn, James’ ex, but I could understand how Suzanne was still friends with her when she never knew the truth about events.
I was so happy after James talked to Jack and he realized everything that he had to do in order to keep Carrie!
The epilogue was awesome and I loved the way it ended and really tied into the beginning of the book!

Last Name by Dr Rebecca Sharp is a cute story of two people who embark on a scavenger hunt and get more than they bargained for. What if you wake up and find a ring on your finger and a marriage certificate. To make matters worse you can't remember the night's event, your groom is gone and you don't know where to find him. Carrie went to Las Vegas on a last hoorah trip with her coworkers who all were going to be fired on Monday. James is in Vegas for a bachelor party when he rescues a sexy lady from a handsy patron at a casino. Interested in her he ends up having the night of his life. Monday morning not only does he have to deal with being married, not knowing his wife's last name or how to find her, he has to fire some employees from a hotel he just bought. Imagine their surprise when James calls in the last employee who happens to be Carrie to be fired and its his new wife. Decisions need to be made. Unfortunately past experiences have put a bump in the road to a resolution. I loved James and Carrie. James is always putting others well being above his own happiness. The marriage might be impulsive but James is determined. Carrie can't believe what is going on. Their journey of what they wanted to do made for a truly entertaining story. Sweet and heart felt! A feel good read that not only put a smile on my face but gave me quite a few chuckles. Entertaining from the beginning to the end. 4.5 stars for me
