Civil rights: CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.
Awad himself has said that he supports Hamas. Nonetheless, this honor is among many he has received, and no one will utter a murmur of protest. But imagine the uproar if USA Today named a foe of jihad terror one of “the most influential civil rights leaders of today.” There would be petitions, protests, whining about how Muslims felt endangered, and probably the paper would apologize and boot the foe of jihad terror from its list.
“From Esmeralda Simmons to Laverne Cox, here are 19 of the most influential civil rights leaders of today,” by Hristina Byrnes and John Harrington, USA Today, June 7, 2020:
8. Nihad Awad
• Occupation: Co-founder and CEO of the Council on American-Islamic Relations
• Location: Washington, D.C.
• Cause: Muslim civil liberties
Nihad Awad, who leads the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the country’s largest Islamic advocacy organization, has been one of America’s foremost Muslim voices after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The group monitors hate crimes and discrimination against Muslim Americans. The organization also counsels and advocates for people who have experienced religious discrimination. In 2017, Nihad was the recipient of the Phillips Brooks House Association’s Robert Coles “Call of Service” Lecture and Award, which is meant to “bring a significant leader in public service to Harvard each fall.”
prebangian says
Mr. Awad does advocate for Muslim Civil Rights, most everyone else’s Civil Rights not so much. In early 2019 by the time of the Christ Church of 49 innocent Islam adherents Jihadists in Nigeria had already murdered 400 Christians and burned three churches to the ground. Mr. Awad made no statement regarding the Jihadist massacre in Nigeria He appeared on NPR largely to try to place blame for the Christ Church murders on Rober Spencer but he didn’t place any blame for Nigeria but the blame lies with the Jihadist teachers of Islam. As a Civil Rights advocate he should be concerned about preserving the rights and lives of all.

My question is why has this pernicious organisation not been banned or at least its charitable status removed?
It regularly demands that the civil rights of non Muslims be denied

We don’t want to elect leadership that is willing to do that
This country has sold out to materialism at any cost

OK that is akin to awarding the Fox an award for championing chicken rights..

I want to alert CAIR to the fact that someone MISTYPED : Cause: Muslim civil liberties
They obviously intended this to read: Cause: Muslim SUPREMACISM AND HEGEMONY.
mortimer says
It’s amazing how many members of CAIR have been charged for supporting terrorism … isn’t it?
At least seven board members or staff at CAIR have been arrested, denied entry to the US, or were indicted on or pled guilty to or were convicted of terrorist charges: Siraj Wahhaj, Bassem Khafagi, Randall (“Ismail”) Royer, Ghassan Elashi, Rabih Haddad, Muthanna Al-Hanooti, and Nabil Sadoun.
Whenever one of them is caught, it’s probable that another ten haven’t yet been caught.

CAIR is a perfect example of the ‘JIHAD OF THE PEN’. CAIR uses words to persuade or manipulate the dirty kufaar to trust crypto-supremacists who exploit the kafirs’ sleepiness to advance jihadic supremacism.
CAIR has convinced many Americans through fallacies of thought to believe that the criticism of an intolerant, bigoted, misogynistic, supremacist political ideology is ‘racist’ … in spite of the fact that no IDEOLOGY had ever been a ‘RACE’.
Islam began as a political ‘IDEOLOGY’ with a justifying theological narrative. CAIR’s main mission is to twist words and thoughts to reinterpret them one way or another depending on which way the wind blows.
Giacomo Latta says
”Cause: Muslim civil liberties”
So, muslims have or should have civil liberties that are different from the ones I have? Or is that supposed to mean that muslims do not yet have the civil liberties that the rest of us have? Such as kill Jews, Christians and any non-muslim at will? If I have that one I haven’t noticed it yet. Treat their coreligionists in ways that they are not allowed to treat non-muslims? I thought we were all human beings and therefore have or do not have equally the same rights.
Does the MSM ever read what they write?
Wellington says
Those who created the Constitution of the Unites States of America and those who are members of CAIR are as different in temperament, a dedication to true liberty, a dedication to the truth in so far as mankind can ascertain the truth, overall knowledge, overall moral intelligence and common sense, and the capacity to apologize for wrongdoing as is conceivably possible.
Yes, place the Founding Fathers of America against those who make up CAIR and it’s like comparing Churchill to Hitler. Yeah, it’s this bad, this stark, and this valid.
rubiconcrest says
Absolutely and the cancel culture today think they’re brothers in arms.
Aussie Infidel says
A great comparison Wellington. This is the same taqiyya speaking weasel who conned George W Bush into believing that Islam is ‘a religion of peace’. In this video, Awad is the man in the beige suit on Bush’s left.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwA3jErg9Bc&feature=endscreen
And to add insult to injury, almost every Western leader from that day on has reiterated the same erroneous crap. Awad is not a genuine civil rights leader, but one of the most dangerous men in America.

Just an update on the litigation jihad being waged by CAIR against Professor Nicholas Damask at Scottsdale Community College:
I contacted Professor Damask yesterday and inquired how the case is proceeding. He said he and his attorney will likely consult with FIRE soon,
but at this point it is still very early in the lawsuit.
He is going to ask his attorney about establishing some sort of funding mechanism for his case and will get back to me on that.
When I hear more, I’ll post it.

Thanks so much for this update on that important story, GreekEmpress!
I will look for more information.

Uh…right. If you want all of your civil rights *crushed*.
This is like calling Islam “feminist”.

Imagine the insanity that is prevalent in the country right now. That one person who is duty bound by his religion to undermine this country is actually honored by it.
We are strange time in history, when the greatest act of self deception is considered a morally shining act and those who point out the hate in this religion are accused of being hate mongers.
It’s like a doctor who studies a medical condition and points out it is contagious is accused of spreading it.
James Lincoln says
I remember when the USA Today first came out in 1982. It was $0.25 and was pretty decent little newspaper.
It turned left a few years ago and I have stopped reading it…

How are things in Oakland?
Hope you and yours are safe!
gravenimage says
Things seem to have quieted down here, GreekEmpress–but I am still keeping an eye out, and we avoid downtown after dark right now. Thank you for asking.
But while the rioting and looting may have ended for a while, we are now facing insanity like calls to defund the police–although I have not heard anyone local call for this so far, it may be in the works. De Blasio is calling for this in NYC, and the Minneapolis City Council has already voted for this, against the wishes of the mayor.
Wellington says
I heard on Fox tonight, gravenimage, something about, get ready for this, defunding prisons in California. Insanity on steroids.
Old fashion liberalism has morphed into a monster, call it modern liberalism or leftism, but whatever one calls it it’s nuts. And the Democratic Party is getting worse by the year and many Republicans are as gutless as ever. It feels like the Sixties again, I think worse.
Brian Hoff says
In NJ than city disband it police department that was so rotten it was past being able to be reform. So the city form than new police department.
gravenimage says
Is this from Brian Hoff a reference to Interlaken, New Jersey?
The police department was *not* dissolved because “that was so rotten it was past being able to be reform”, but because the town did not pass a bond, and the town could no longer afford to maintain its force:
“Small NJ Town Fires Entire Police Department”
https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/taxes-too-high-small-nj-town-fires-entire-police-department/2118878/#:~:text=Hopefully%20one%20Central%20Jersey%20town,department%20a%20few%20weeks%20back.
The bond failed to pass by just 30 votes. This happened ten years ago.
And Interlaken did not “form than new police department”, which they could not afford to do. They contracted with the neighboring town of Deal to provide police service, which is still the case today.
gravenimage says
I missed that bit of insanity, Wellington–I truly wish I could say it surprises.

Correct, but you are being far too generous. They are actually getting significantly worse by the DAY…

Could he be most influential because of his defense of Islamic Supremacy, or support for killing all Jews, or promoting female genital mutilation, or subversion of our Constitution with Sharia law? If so, then yes, he could be considered the most influential, abuser of civil rights In America.
OLD GUY says
He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Islamic Supremacy has nothing todo with civil rights it discriminates violently against any and all who are not followers of Islam.
