In Islam, zakat — the alms required of every Muslim — can and should be given to further the jihad. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that there are so many jihad-linked charities.
“Lawsuit Alleges Qatar Secretly Financed Terror Attacks that Killed Americans,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, June 10, 2020:
Qatar secretly provided funding for several terror attacks that killed Americans and Israelis, according to allegations leveled in an unprecedented new lawsuit filed in New York City on Wednesday that seeks compensation for the families of those killed.
Multiple Qatari financial institutions, largely controlled by the country’s ruling monarch, provided millions of dollars to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), two U.S.-designated terrorist organizations that waged multiple successful attacks on American citizens, according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. As part of this alleged funding scheme, Qatari charities allegedly used the U.S. banking system to illegally funnel these groups the money necessary to orchestrate and conduct the attacks.
As Hamas’s most prolific funder, “Qatar coopted several institutions that it dominates and controls to funnel coveted U.S. dollars (the chosen currency of Middle East terrorist networks) to Hamas and PIJ under the false guise of charitable donations,” according to the lawsuit, which was filed under the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act and has been in the works for the last two years….
Qatar allegedly skirted U.S. sanctions on Hamas and PIJ by enlisting several of its charitable organizations in a scheme to funnel funds to the terror groups. As with many other terror financing cases, it was critical this money be provided in U.S. dollars.
The lawsuit specifically targets Qatar Charity, which was founded in 1992 as Qatar Charitable Society. The organization serves as “a key funding source for international terrorists” and is believed to have been a major source of funding for deceased terror leader Osama bin Laden.
Qatar Charity allegedly worked with Masraf Al Rayan bank and Qatar National Bank to forward Hamas and PIJ millions of dollars, according to the lawsuit. Both banks “were essential to provide access to the U.S. financial system to obtain the U.S. dollars needed to sustain Hamas’s and PIJ’s terrorist activities,” the lawsuit states. The banks and charity group are largely controlled by members of Qatar’s royal family….

I don’t understand why the US Navy has the base at Doha. I am sure that there are other locations or just use the naval bases in the Mediterranean that would not use the money spent by the American service personnel and wages for local jihadis to spy on the naval activities in the vicinity.

Seconded, Ray Jarman, but, of course, this does assume that those at the top in the US Navy really understand Islam—as much of a “leap of faith” as thinking that most American politicians understand Mo’s creed.
Just contemplate for a moment how many of the top brass in the US Navy really know virtually anything about Islam—what the hadiths are, what kitman and muruna mean, who Kinana was, that every major school of Islamic theology, Sunni or Shiite, still requires death for apostasy per Sura 4:89, that Jews and Christians are referred to in the Koran as “the vilest of creatures” per Sura 98:6, or that per that wretched book again, the Koran, in Suras 4,23, 33 and 70, it actually allows the rape of non-Muslim women?
I’m thinking almost none. Perhaps none.

That is, unfortunately, a correct statement. I know from personal experience.
Following the terrorist attacks on 9/11, the Commanding Officer of a major US Naval Hospital briefed all of the officers in the chain of command regarding the perpetrators of the attacks. I was one of the medical officers in attendance.
It was emphasized that the attacks had “nothing to do with true islam” and that the terrorists were “hijacking the religion” for nefarious purposes. It was also stated that it was likely that other “religious groups” were also involved.
What they said was not based upon any factual, evidence-based logic. The top brass evidently, just wanted to be PC – and make sure that any muslims on active duty were not “guilty by association”, etc.
Suffice it to say that – even then – what the Commanding Officer said did not make sense to me vis-à-vis the independent reports that I had been reading. And the 12 October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole DDG-67 while being refueled in Yemen’s Aden harbor was still fresh in my mind.
And unbelievably, just five years earlier, I was performing medical duties on the USS Hewitt DD-966 that was temporarily docked at Yemen’s Aden harbor.
And today it is all absolutely crystal clear to me…

The US military brass are hoping against hope that they are right about islam. The fools. They shouldn’t be docking in their ports they should be periodically cruising by and shelling the place.

Good exchange. Sadly, the US military knows next to nothing about Islam.

Starting with knowing that Islam is an enemy, I should have added.

Glad to hear about this lawsuit.

I think that any one of us contributors could give the necessary authorities a thorough grounding in the dangers about islam. The question is, are they really ignorant of the facts? Someone should be informing them.

Robert Spencer used to give educational seminars to law enforcement and security before the Obama administration. This and plans like it need to be revived.
