A secret masquerade hookup leads to complications with Rourke’s new boss.
Rourke: As a celebrity personal assistant, I pride myself on professionalism. When a mysterious stranger offers to show me the wonders of a clandestine club at the masked ball, I jump at the chance. Because no one will know me, right? One night. No names. No faces. It should have ended there. I had no idea that the handsome, enigmatic man would turn out to be my new employer.
Roman: After the masquerade, I searched for the girl who’d crashed my party, only to find her in my office a few months later. I can’t fire her because she’s the best assistant I’ve ever had, but I can’t stop wanting her in my bed either.

THE EXILED PRINCE TRILOGY in reading order: The Exiled Prince The Dirty Princess The War King
Jeana E. Mann is the award-winning author of billionaire and bad boy romance. Her books focus on second chances and workplace relationships while touching on real-life topics like autism, drug addiction, mental illness, and family dynamics. Her latest release, THE EXILED PRINCE, is available now!
I devour it, this was fantastic, my first book from this author and I'm impressed!Sexy , intense, and heartwarming!
The way they met and the passion they have make me swoon!I wanted more of these two together! Roman and Rourke have an amazing connection!I loved their banter!
It was fast paced and I liked the writing, I'm excited to see what will happen next!
Here we have the heroine who’s very much a pathetic woman with barely any sexual experience. Next to her is the very much experience hero. And I can’t also forget hero’s brother who’s also chasing the heroine because he and hero has some sort rivalry and he goes after every women hero has ever wanted. Hence why he slept with hero’s fiancé. This man likes to sleep with other men fiancés. So basically hero is after the heroine because his brother saw her first only he didn’t count that he would want the heroine for more than one night.
Heroine likes to watch people have sex. When she meets hero and brother at ball the hero’s hosted after she was dancing and somewhat feeling some sort of lust for his brother but she was more aroused for the hero. Hero takes her to some hidden part of the castle that is a sex club where she watches men and women have sex and she gets hot and bothered she has sex with hero while other people were watching them (H’s brother and god knows who else) she’s aware that it’s possible that someone could be watching them and doesn’t care because she enjoys it.
Hero is an asshole. Treats her like shit. Sends her to run errands like buying condoms, makes her believe he’s going to be fucking this other girl because he’s too much of a coward to tell the woman he had sex months before she started working for him that he wants something more with her. Nothing says “I want you and want to boink you like, I’ll make you jealous when you see me touch another woman legs and close to the panty line and kissing another woman.” the whole time the heroine is watching she’s get jealous and gets hot watching him kiss the girl. This was the same girl who tried to get him to have sex with her after he met the heroine but he couldn’t go through with it because his mind was on the heroine. 😒 and although he does say at some point that he hasn’t been with anyone since he met the heroine it doesn’t matter to me because he did try to use a girl to make the heroine jealous kissing and touching her leg, grabbing her waist. Him being celibate doesn’t mean squat to me when he acts this way.
I don’t know how how they could have fallen in love when they don’t really get together after 70%.
So let’s recap. ~Hidden sex club where the supposedly “alpha jealous possessive men” don’t give a crap about having their women naked and exposed for other people to see. ~Heroines who like to Voyeurism and Exhibitionism, become pathetic and mess in front of hot men. ~Hero that participates and very much enjoys his own sex club. ~OW drama, should I say ex fiancé drama and sex clubs partners. ~A daughter who’s not really the hero’s daughter. ~Hero kisses and almost fondles another woman’s thighs in front of the heroine. Heroine kisses hero’s brother.
Needless to say I won’t continue with this series or author. Her other works features the same sex club, same whore of a brother having sex with another heroine while her “supposedly hero” watched, same voyeurism and exhibitionism. Assholes heroes and pathetic women who very much would do anything to make the ass happy.
3.5 stars, rounding up to 4 because I can!!! I totally enjoyed the premise of this story. A little mysterious, and a lot of sexy. Our heroine, Rourke, who leads a pretty laid back life, finds herself as a guest at a secret masquerade ball, where she meets not one, but two, very sexy and mysterious men. One sets her senses on fire, (the other sets her sense on edge) and she has quite a little dalliance with him, only to leave the evening in a very Cinderella fashion. Months later they cross paths again, when she finds herself working for him, but she's pretty sure he doesn't recognize her...or does he? A well written, enjoyable story!
The Exiled Prince is a steamy electric read from the author of The Rebel Queen. Roman and Rourke meet a masquerade where everything and everyone are anonymous. Have a great time with a stranger, right? Imagine Rourke's surprise when, a couple of months later, said stranger is her new boss! The question is does Roman remember Rourke, or will the anonymous encounter remain a secret? This is an entertaining, sexy and mysterious story with witty engaging characters. It is entertaining from beginning to end. Jeana E. Mann fans will love it!
Thank you to the author for a complimentary copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own. 💛💛💛💛
Well finally after a short spell of a book hangover I finally found a good book. I won't go as far as saying it is one of the best but I liked it nonetheless. The only negative thing I had to say is how the hell Roman make such a 180 with his attitude. I am just gonna pass it off as the influence of Rourke.
*This is a standalone contemporary erotic romance with a happily-ever-after ending.
*This is book #1 of a 4 book series.
*It was previously released under the title Sex, Lies & Lipstick as part of the Bad Boy Billionaire Bachelors Boxset on Amazon KU.
This book...I loved writing it as much or more than PRETTY BROKEN GIRL. I wrote this book on a whim and it still haunts me. That's why I started the ROYAL SECRETS SERIES. There will be four standalone books, but you'll enjoy them more if you read them in order.
A secret masquerade hookup leads to complications with Rourke’s new boss.
Rourke: As a celebrity personal assistant, I pride myself on professionalism. When a mysterious stranger offers to show me the wonders of a clandestine sex club at the masked ball, I jump at the chance. Because no one will know me, right? One night. No names. No faces. It should have ended there. I had no idea that the handsome, enigmatic man would turn out to be my new employer.

Cinderella meets Fifty Shades in this explosive royalty romance.
After the hearing all the buzz and praises about this book I was so excited for the ride I was told to expect. Unfortunately, another book/series that ended in the 'not-for-me' pile this year.
The whole Cinderella vibe pulled me in very quickly but after a certain point, I had lost my interest in the book. It's funny because books like The Exiled Prince are usually right up my alley. This one had hints of BDSM + voyeurism at the very beginning. Then it took a turn and entered into the sweet-angsty romance, which I love, but then came in insta-everything and the mystery of the exiled prince.
I don't mind authors having multiple tropes in a single book/series since it allows for quite a few elements to be played with but here it just didn't feel seamless to me.
I loved and enjoyed the book up until the 40% mark but after that, I just wasn't as drawn in into the story or the characters to want to continue to the next book in this series.
This book is good, it just wasn't good enough for me.
2 Stars! _________________________ For more reviews and recommendations:
Damn what a whirlwind of events. Typical Jeana E. Mann she always throws these curveballs that gets you more involved in the story.
Roman and Rourke met a masquerade ball where anonymity was mandatory. The chemistry was thru the roof electrical and steamy and as soon as it began it was over. Fast forward couple months when they run into each other again in the most unexpected way. Roman attitude wasn’t the best. He was a complete a-hole and I give Rourke credit for putting up with his bad attitude. But there was a reason for his attitude which will need to be read because I won’t spoil.
There were lots of secrets, lots of secondary characters that had secrets too which added to the suspense and angst of the story. This is Book 1 of 4 and the author started out really good. Roman redeemed himself and I must say that Rourke also stood her ground. I can’t wait to see how much steamier these two will be in Book 2. And also the outcome of the secondary characters, especially Nicky since he seemed like a thorn that won’t go away.
“Put your claws in, kitten. I haven’t cheated on you. In fact, I haven’t been with anyone but you since we met.”
Rourke is about to live a magical night. Everly, her best friend as well as her boss, is taking her to an exclusive party that brings together the cream of society, the famous and the ultra rich all in one place. An exclusive and secret event, which for over a decade has been synonymous with success. An event whose host is none other than Prince Roman, a rich and mysterious man. But a small detail can ruin the night. Rourke does not have an invitation. But as with every self-respecting fairy tale, with the help of a fairy godmother and the support of fate, she and her friend manage to get into the party. And in a place where identities are forbidden, and anonymity is protected by masks and confidentiality terms signed at the entrance, she allows herself for just one night to experience another reality. Stop thinking about her problems and her life, and allow herself to embrace the luxury and temptation that surround her between the luxurious walls of her present location. And like every Cinderella at a ball, she attracts two suitors. Nicky, with his overly friendly attitude and a mysterious black-haired man who oozes danger. And after a provocative tango, a tour of the estate with this man is what she most desires. Allowing herself to be wild once in a lifetime. But the enchanted prince hides peculiar tastes. And their night ends in an unusual place. And with the arrival of the farewell and the identities in secret, the goodbye is final. Or so they thought. Fate will once again intervene. With her friend's wedding, she is out of a job. And in getting a new job, the high salary, the included housing, and the other perks will make up for her boss's bad temper. None other than Roman. The mysterious man of the party. How to work for someone so obnoxious but that at the same time attracts her immensely? Roman will not be easy. At times, the urge to tell some truths in his face will be huge. And Rourke does just that. She does not cower at nothing, and faces him on an equal footing. But over time, the real man behind the spoiled prince's facade comes to light, and it will be impossible not to pity. Or fall in love. And when the two finally find out they've been together all this time, the situation employed and boss will be the obstacle. But Roman won't be willing to let her go. First part of a trilogy, the book catches the eye, is well written, the characters are interesting, even wanting to hit Roman in various situations, the chemistry is explosive and the intrigue is unfolding, weaving directions that will clearly bring problems in the other sequences. I just expected more "hot" scenes, after all Roman owns a sex club and shows that he likes domination. Looking forward to the next books.
This book was very intriguing. The secrecy between Rourke (Cinderella) and Roman (Prince Charming) made this book very interesting and I couldn’t put it down.
Roman and Rourke first met at a Masquerade party. Neither knew who each other was. They had to pick nicknames to keep their identities secret. After dancing with another guy Roman finally takes over. After their little trist in a secret sex club, they are enamored with each other but Rourke keeps herself a secret and leaves the party with Roman wanting more. When her best friend and boss has to leave the country Rourke is offered a new job. Unbeknownst to her, Prince Charming is her boss!!!
This book was well written and I’m ready to dive into book 2!!!
This is a great book if you think this is just about sexy times well is not it goes deeper than that, I started reading and in my head I was me too girl, me too...lol, anyways without spoiling anything for anyone yes is a sexy times book but it also touches the subject of Alzheimer’s and how it affects the person suffering from it and their families and as I’ve being on the receiving end of that nasty disease it touched me on a personal level and not just that it also touches on fatherhood not gonna say much on that regards if you want to know READ THE BOOK!!!! You wanna know what his clothes are made of? Book boyfriend material 🤦🏽♀️🤣
This book is so good! I loved it so much I’ve already preordered the next one. Roman is such an arrogant ass but he meets Rourke and she has the perfect attitude and sass to deal with him! I love their interactions. Roman steals your heart after you get to know him. This is such a fresh and different take on a romance novel and has everything you need. I can’t wait for the next book.
What a way to start Roman and Rourke story. Who could have known a Private Masquerade Party would bring a Prince into Rourkes life and he has turned in upside down the righted it back. It's a whirlwind wind of PUSH and PULl but such a delicious story
Excellent romance sometimes unpredictable (First part of a trilogy but it can read separately) I hesitated to choose this book initially, because I do not really like the variations on Cinderella, but finally, I was not disappointed by the style and the beginning of the plot that I think must continue in the others books of the series. One of the disconcerting points is the way the author makes her characters interact; The first chapters directed me towards a BDSM narrative, but then evolves towards a romance based on the recognition and acceptance of the feelings of the characters. They are excellent in their character, their secrets, their discovery of themselves, and the fact that they seem to start their story upside down. Rourke accompanies her best friend to a masked ball before she goes to get married. She meets a man she suspects to be the organizer of the evening. He awakens her to sensations she did not think she needed, then she fled. A few months later, she is hired by the one she thought was her mysterious lover, Roman, but although neither could forget the other, they do not recognize each other, but they miss each other. Rourke can't recognize Roman because he is execrable and infects with her, the complete opposite of the man she met before. To this is added the past of Roman with the actions of his half-brother, as well as his former companion who kidnapped his daughter. In short between their character, their work, their desires and the people that Roman rub shoulders, the story does not lack of twists and turns. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This was little missing leading the beginning. I thought it would get a little bit dirtier after they meet at the masquerade ball. It had potentially too.
I did like the story and will sometime get to the next book.
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 Stars! Royal/ boss romance. I liked this one, it almost read like a harlequin romance or mills and boon, I loved those books. I liked the chemistry with Roman and Rourke. Great start to a series.
Great start to a new series. Amazing characters with plenty of drama and emotion that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. I look forward to more in the series.
All I can say is yummy! As I was reading Everly’s story, The Royal Arrangement, I was intrigued by Everly’s bestie Rourke and her mysterious husband. Now I got to read their story and see how the whole story started. I also got to meet Nicky and read about his shenanigans up early on the story line. This story was riveting!
Rourke and Everly are best friends. Everly is the daughter of the former US Vice-President and Rourke is her personal assistant. All this is about to end because Everly is leaving on her honeymoon to Australia, so life as Rourke knew it was about to end. She had to make new living arrangements and get a new job and fast, because her aunt lives in a home and Rourke pays the bills. As a last hurrah, they decide to crash Roman Menshikov’s famous Masquerade Ball. There they meet the infamous Nicky I had read about in The Royal Arrangement. There’s something about Nicky, he’s like a prankster. There are hidden depths in him and I can’t wait for his book.
In this ball, Rourke dances for a while with Nicky, and then a very handsome, enigmatic and charismatic stranger arrives and whisks her away from Nicky. This guy makes Rourke’s nerves tingle. They end up having a tryst in a castle tower, located on the back of the mansion, where Roman has The Devil’s Playground, a naughty sex club. Right after their tryst, she leaves, taking this fantastic memory with her, back to her reality. Little does she realize her Prince Charming will come back into her life.
When Rourke gets a fantastic new job, and she finds out Roman Menshikov is her new boss, it’s serendipity. She couldn’t get him out of her mind, and it was likewise for him. The plot goes off into a delicious office type romance where Rourke is the typical snarky and super-efficient personal assistant and Roman is the grumpy, demanding boss. Eventually Rourke will tame the beast and we enjoy a very yummy love story. Nicky and Everly are prominent in the story and there will be some suspense regarding Roman’s native country.
I loved Rourke because she’s strong but sweet; I loved that Roman had lived a life craving something he couldn’t achieve, and when Rourke came into his life, his hunger and his craving ended; she became his home and his life. I loved how hard he fell for her and the lengths he was willing to go to keep her in his life. And now the grumpy boss is a sappy husband!
I downloaded this for free cause I needed something to read while waiting for a stage play to start.
TW: exhibitionist/ voyeurism.
When it came to dancing with Nicky and the mystery man, I had to reread a few pages cause I got confused I who was who.
I didn't realise this was a multi pov, so whenever it started a new chapter/character, it lost me especially since most chapters began with I and it wasn't until a few sentences later that I realise character change had happened.
The sex scenes are a bit..interesting..it tries to be detailed while using childish names to describe body parts.
The story reads quite simple. As if the author is trying to skim over something, not necessarily hiding details from readers but there is something that if you need to kill time with a book..this does the job. It reads like a wattpad story, where you just need something cause there's nothing else to read.
So..your saying for the first 60% we're reading about a sex party..and in the remainder of story, it's about a man who can't get his head out of his ass to even say "hello" and a woman who pretends she's innocent even though pages earlier, she was turned on watching people have sex while she got banged?
The closer i got to the end of the story, the more annoyed I got. It started to read as a petty miscommunication revenge thing. Blackmail that felt like it comes out of no where and pettiness that shouldn't of waited until the last 100 or so pages.
The front of the book says "dark mafia romance", where the dark? Where's the mafia? All I see if a miscommunication romance. The title says his "exiled prince" but 1) don't see much royalty going on, 2) doesn't really explain what makes him a prince and 3) his a business owner who owns a brothel, which doesn't really make a dent in the story.
The FMC constantly fat shaming herself made me really uncomfortable. As someone who struggles with her weight, I get it's normal to hate your own appearance but I really don't need to read it in a book especially since there was no real purpose to constantly mention "she had gained weight" or "needs to lose more kilos" or "the dress hide all the bumps."
The daughter storyline felt so stupid. Why was it put in? It literally serves no purpose to the book.
As it got to the last 20%, it felt like the book was trying to be like the movie "pretty woman", where Mr rich falls madly in love with a commoner. It just doesn't work.

Love a Dark fairytale retelling. This story is about Rourke, a shy personal assistant & a Russisn mafia exciled prince who meet by chance at a masked masquerade ball. Things get a little heated between these masked strangers, then they go their separate ways. Months later, Rourke so happens to start a new job, as Mr Prince Charming Roman Menshikov's personal assistant. Well sh*t, what could go wrong?! Hang on for some great banter, twists & turns at every corner, & of course a whole lotta spice. Ends on a cliffhanger, off to the next chapter.
FAV QUOTES/SCENES: "Are you sure? I might do something stupid, like order yellow mustard for your sandwich instead of Grey Poupon." I glanced up, faking a glower, loving her sass and fearless rebuke. “Are you mocking me, Ms. Donahue?” “Just stating a fact, Mr. Menshikov.” We shared a smile, our first, and it was the best damn gift I’d received in years.
“What kind?” I asked. “Sorry?” His voice was rough, sleepy. “Brand? Size? Lubricated? Ribbed?” My words came out choppy and dripping with animosity, but at this point, I didn’t care. “Glow-in-the-dark? Flavored? Latex?” “Um, just bring a variety. Magnum.” He hung up again.
His face contorted, lines of pain deepening around his eyes and mouth at the sound of my distress. “Goddammit.” His nostrils flared. Icy blue eyes narrowed. “We haven’t slept with each other because I wanted to take it slow and get to know you without the confusion that comes with sex. We’re walking on a slippery slope here, Rourke. You’re my employee. I’m in a sticky situation.”
“Put your claws in, kitten. I haven’t cheated on you. In fact, I haven’t been with anyone but you since we met.” I tried to wriggle free, but he held me tighter. The buttons of his dress shirt cut into my sternum. “Why should I believe you?” “Because I love you, Rourke.” His tone softened, and the grip on the back of my head gentled. “And I’m trying really hard not to fuck this up.”
“I’m going to worship you,” he said. Despite the darkness, his eyes shone with heat. “Tomorrow, we’ll figure all this out. But tonight, let me show you how much I love you.”
“I’m a selfish bastard. No one’s ever going to see your body naked again. No one but me. I want this all to myself.” He cupped my sex. “Are we clear?”
He took my chin between his thumb and forefinger and tilted my face to his. Dark blue eyes searched mine until I wanted to squirm. “She may not be mine by blood, but she’s my daughter in every other way.”
For seventeen of her twenty-six years, Everly had been Rourke's best friend. She was also the daughter of the former Vice President of the United States, her boss. They'd attended the same private schools, their lives weaving parallel lines until her parents died and her life changed forever. As Everly's personal assistant, Rourke organized the chaos in her life, attended social functions, and kept her company during her travels. This particular night, her duties included crashing London's most exclusive masquerade ball. Everly had received an invitation, she had not. So the plan was for Rourke to use her cousin Beverly's invitation since she would not be attending. Instead of a bachelorette party for Everly's last night of being single, she wanted to attend the ball and she wanted Rourke to go with her in the hopes that Rourke would meet Roman Menshikov, the dark-haired enigmatic Russian prince that was to be in attendance. Every Spring Roman Menshikov hosted the event of the year, not for himself but for the amusement of his friends. He'd grown bored with the whole thing years ago and only personally saw to the hand selected invitation list. So when he saw the blonde come into the party, he had no idea who she was and really wasn't interested once he watched her and deemed her not a reporter. Until he noticed Nikolay showing a proprietary interest in her. The two had been in competition for years; the best business deals, the fastest cars, the prettiest girls. They had similar tastes in woman and it was the last one that caused the most strife. They both liked voluptuous blondes, and as fate would have it, his ex-fiancée had been both. Tales of intrigue and revenge peppered Roman's family history and Nikolay had done him wrong. This was his chance to even the score. Yes, yes, it was petty, but Roman was rich and he was bored. Just wow!! Wouldn't it be lovely to wind up going to a ball, find a hot handsome man who you were not only intrigued by but attracted to as well and then be able to have uninhibited sex with no repercussion or backlash because it was anonymous? Yeah, you've got to read this book. This plot takes a few twists and turns and will make that line form between your brow a few time, but the sexual chemistry between Roman and Rourke is what will keep you tingling throughout the book. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Having read The Arrangement and The Rebel Queen first, it took me a minute to adjust to the fact that the events of The Exiled Prince come prior to the other books. The Exiled Prince is the coming together of Rouke and Roman. Rouke is the former assistant to Everly (Rebel Queen) who goes to Roman's infamous masquerade party in London in place of another woman. When her Prince Charming shows her things that ignite her, she flees but can't stop thinking about him. Roman becomes obsessed with the woman behind the mask, trying to find her but failing. When Rouke starts working for Roman, she figures out quickly who he is but he doesn't match with who he showed her that night.
Showing a great ability to play with her characters, Jeana E. Mann takes the Cinderella story and gives it a modern spin. Her Rourke is a woman with a good head on her shoulders, loyal, and strong. Rourke is the type of character you can easily identify with as she pits herself against her surly boss to keep a job that will allow her to help her aunt while worrying about what would happen if Roman figures out who she is. Roman is a bit more complicated. A man who has way too many dishes spinning to really look around himself to see the truth in front of him, Roman is a caring person but unable to truly trust. The two are alternately oil and water and sparks with tinder. They are perfectly matched with a ton of chemistry.
The Exiled Prince is fast-paced with great banter and push and pull between the leads. When they finally figure out who each is, the sexual tension is pulled taut and makes for some steamy reading. There are political threats that swirl around them with plots hatching yet to come to fruition. As this is the start of a trio of books revolving around the couple, there are some issues left unresolved but the book doesn't end on a cliffhanger. Roman and Rourke get their HEA with more action and danger to come for the two.
I found this book in an Amazon recommendation email, and I decided to 1-click it. What I found was an enjoyable read with a feisty heroine who knows what she wants and a hero who is a worried parent trying to find his daughter. First though, we are treated to a masquerade ball with a hidden side of debauchery at an exclusive event where Rourke's best friend Everly convinces her to take advantage of the anonymity- and does she ever! Roman, the host and the titled exiled Russian prince, is Rourke's secret celebrity crush of sorts, and while she wonders if he is the mysterious man who swoops in to take her out of the arms of another man, she has no way to know for sure. One extremely hot encounter later, and her magical evening comes to an end.
Now it is back to reality and the cold hard truth facing her: she is unemployed since Everly is getting married and moving away, and Rourke needs to come up with something quickly to pay for her aunt's health care costs. An unexpected chain of events lands her a job with none other than Roman himself, but he doesn't recognize her and she has mixed feelings about that. Roman's trusted advisor and friend Ivan knows her secret though and finds great amusement in the fact that Roman doesn't realize the woman he spent months searching for is right under his nose. But Roman is too absorbed in trying to find his ex and his daughter that is being hidden from him.
Tempers flare and sparks fly amid the growing tension, but once Roman figures out Rourke's identity he makes a conscious effort to tone down his less desirable character traits. Slowly they build a relationship until they finally give in to the heat again. We are left with a happy for now but I know there are 2 more books in the series so I am sure things will be shaken up again!
One crazy and supposedly incognito night turns into so much more for a personal assistant and an exiled prince.
Rourke snuck into the event of the season, knowing the mask would help to protect her identity. When she’s swept up into a night of debauchery and intrigue, she knows she should say no, but chooses to live in the moment for one night only before getting her life in order.
Typically bored by the event he hosts, Roman never attends, but there is something about the masked beauty who he knows is not on the guest list that has all of his attention. When she refuses to tell who she is, he searches for her without luck . . .until fate tosses them together once again, months later, this time as a billionaire businessman and his new personal assistant.
Ohhhh, I loved Rourke. She is so unexpected as a character. She’s bold, sassy and independent, yet vulnerable, and the perfect match to keep Roman on his toes. And, Roman is everything that an exiled prince should be. He’s dominant, charismatic, shrewd and completely ruthless when he needs to be. And, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the cat and mouse like game that ensued between Rourke and Roman.
I enjoyed the addition of the storyline revolving around Roman’s daughter, as it gave him a much needed feeling of being human and vulnerable. I also loved his relationship with his head of security, Ivan. The author also gives readers a unique twist of fate by allowing them the choice of opting into the happy ever after Rourke and Roman have reached (because book one is a complete story) or continuing on in the trilogy. And, that sneak peek of what happens on book two . . . holy crap!
Hot and spicy, full of intrigue with teases of the suspense to come, The Exiled Prince had me hooked from page one. 5 stars!
What happen when the secret masquerade ball hookup will lead to complications with your new boss? If you want to find out you'll definitely need to read "The Exiled Prince".
Jeana E. Mann has that ability to throwany curveballs at reader who is reading story written by her. And same thing happened this time which made me even more involved with this amazing story.
Roman and Rourke met at the masquerade balk where anonymity was a must. The chemistry between these two was over the roof but their meeting ended as fast as it began. They meet again few minths after said meeting in most unexpected way. And sadly Roman wasn't a gentleman towards Rourke but she still put up with his bad behavior. But as always there was a reason but I won't tell you what it is in order not to spoil anything to you cause I want all of you to appreciate this wonderful story by yourselves.
This story has many qualities I really love. We have here secrets, many secondary character with their own secrets which only adds more suspense and angst to this addicting story. This is first of free books story and I cannot wait to see how this story will unravel itself. Roman redeemed himself in my eyes, Rourke stood her ground but Nicky still was like a stubborn mosquito in hot summer day... I really hope he will change one day and since at the moment I am writing this review we had a news that Nick's story will be next and I cannot wait.
So in the short of you're looking for a not obvious story full of secrets, steamy love and angst you need to read this one. You definitely won't regret it.
Cinderella goes to the ball and has some fun with Prince Charming:) A story of two people hooking up anonymously at a gala and discovering how well they really fit-even while not knowing each other's identity. "You're safe here. No one will ever know...tomorrow we'll be different people, living different lives..." In The Exiled Prince by Jeana Mann, we are introduced to Roman and Rourke, two perfectly suited people who hook up for one steamingly hot night-only to run into each other soon afterwards. Through the recommendation of a wealthy friend, Rourke gets a super high paying, generous benefits job at a company where ...dhum..dhum..dhum...Roman (Prince Charming) is the boss.. Does he recognize her? Does she recognize him? Fireworks ensue between them due to the uncertainty and their attraction to each other. This book is so well written. The sexual tension between the two is off the charts. And I couldn't stop laughing half the time-especially during one scene where Roman sends Rourke to buy some condoms for him just to piss her off. Her reply: "...I vowed to bring this man to his knees...game on...". No shrinking violet here:-) You so have to read this book. Kind of reminds me of an old Bruce Willis sitcom called Moonlighting where the hero and heroine have a love-hate, sexually explosive, smile inducing, weird relationship that keeps you constantly laughing and shaking your head at their antics. Well done Ms. Mann! I read and honestly reviewed an ARC of this book.
