Obviously, there’s only one way for me to prove to him that I’m immune to this British actor nonsense. I’m going to prove it to him so hard.

But I have rules for flings with out-of-towners and I will continue to enforce them, even with ridiculously beautiful international film stars. Even though he gets along so well with my family. Even though we somehow seem to understand each other in ways that no one else ever could. Even if he makes me wonder what it’s like out there in the world outside of this coastal paradise I’ve always called home.

I’m staying right where I am, no matter where he claims to want to take me with him when he leaves.

Every time he says “Hello Darling,” all I hear is: “goodbye heart.”

    As a Brit myself I do tend to avoid British books, sometimes things just go a bit awry and I question too much and I don’t delve into the story properly. It’s probably just me. I’ve been a big fan of Kayley’s and I really wanted to try this.. damn I am glad I did!
    So so good! From the script to the references. It was bloody perfect! I hope there’s a story for Billy somewhere… and Stella’s Dad… now that would be something!

    A very funny and entertaining read. So many endearing and hilarious characters in the town. I especially love the Starkey boys though I have no idea why they didn’t sort out Kwas. It would have been very funny for Stella to have quietly texted them under the table and have them sneak up behind Kwas and drag him out. They definitely should have sorted him out later, he seemed to get away with that and she was always threatening what her brothers would do but they didn’t.

    Evan is so swoony and exactly what you want in a hot British actor. Stella was sassy, amazing, nurturing, loving and badass - just what Evan needed. They were a great couple who gave me many laughs especially with Hugh Grants voiceover.

    Definitely worth a read.

    This book is pure perfection, one of my go to feel-good repeat listen/read when I need a pick-me-up. It has everything of Ms. Loring’s heartwarming and whimsical signature writing, superbly performed by two of my all time favourite duo Mackenzie Cartwright and Shane East. I not only find the main characters captivating but the rest of the side characters too, all brought to life by #Shakenzie. I’m very impressed by the amazing talent by these two narrators, especially when they both performed Mrs. Flauvich, all I could do was chuckle. Furthermore, Mackenzie’s male voice is one of my most favourites, apart from making me swoon to Evan’s british voice, she made me laughed out loud with The Kwas comical text messages, giggled to Billy’s energetic character and had me teary-eyed when Stella had a meaningful conversation with her father. And what can I say, but thank you very much Ms. Loring for writing all these delightful words in Evan’s point of view for Shane to perform especially chapter 13, 15, 18 and 23. This fangirl is truly grateful. 😉

    I was hoping to find a book that was light hearted, romantic and fun; this one fit the bill. The writing was pretty good, the dialogue was fun and the H/h were both likable. There wasn't much angst (just a touch that skimmed the surface at most) and things were light all the way through. It was nice to have a Hero who is comfortable in his own skin and who knows who he is. And the heroine, though still figuring things out, was smart enough to come to the right decisions in just the right amount of time -- the reader stays with her, rather than having those "I can't believe she is such a goose" thoughts. I am so happy to have found a new author for light, easy and romantic stories that provide some emotional payoff!
