He puts the Bad in bad boy.

New York Times bestselling author, S.L. Scott, weaves her emotional words with her signature heartfelt style into a second chance, small town romance that will have you falling for the bad boy.

I've done my time as undercover elite security and I'm ready for a change. Seeking redemption and a slower pace, I return to the one place I once vowed not to--Solace Pointe.

Then, I was a hometown hero--star quarterback and Delilah Noelle's one and only.

Now, I've accrued enough sins to last two lifetimes and want to retire in peace.

I mistakenly forgot how rumors run rampant in a small town, and my return causes quite the ruckus. That's to be expected. I can handle church group gossip. What I didn't expect was for the only girl I ever loved to be single again.

I didn't come back looking for trouble, but it seems to be leading me right back to Delilah.

~

She puts the Sweet in sweetheart.

I finally freed myself from a bad marriage. Running my family farm is hard work, but it's become my safe haven. That is until gossip travels down the grapevine that Jason Koster is back in town. If there was ever a man who held my heart in his hands, it was him.

Then, I had stars in my eyes--a beauty queen and madly in love with the man of my dreams.

Now, I live a peaceful life alone on the farm.

I should have known trouble was heading my way, especially since I'm standing here holding the door wide open for him.

Jason, Delilah and Cole were close friends growing up and in the last four years of high school Jason & Delilah began dating and fell in love. Jason’s future was pretty much paved for him in the NFL after winning a college scholarship and apart from that all he knew was that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Delilah.

However, someone with their own agenda began planting doubts in Delilah’s mind and once they began to take root she made a decision that would alter the course of their lives. One of those classic young adult communication problems that could have been avoided if she weren’t afraid of the answers.

A few years later, Jason rides back into town on his custom made motorbike to visit his mum. It’s been a long time since he was in Solace Pointe. He has kept in regular contact with his mum but has had no desire to return to the place that is filled with bad memories. Small town gossip is not something people who live in big cities could ever understand. Sometimes small towns can produce small minded people.

‘Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned. Sometimes, you don’t end up playing pro-ball. Sometimes, you don’t get the girl. Sometimes, you find yourself living a life you never expected.’

Jason has recently left a job that now has him at a loose end with some time on his hands so he plans to stick around for a while. He knows he won’t be able avoid seeing people he would rather not but nothing could have prepared him for seeing Delilah again. The only girl he has ever loved. Jason soon finds out that the life he envisioned Delilah was having without him was no life at all, it was a horrible nightmare.

‘Sometimes, you wish you could go back and change the things you regret the most.’

When Jason left town and Delilah moved on it didn’t take her long to regret her decision. She finds herself trapped in an awful, controlling relationship. Once she is able to free herself from this, she finds herself living a quiet life in her farm house, struggling to make ends meet and keep the farm ticking over. The last person she expected to roll into her driveway is Jason Koster, the man who still owns her heart.

‘Her shoulders drop, the tension falling away as if she’s been waiting for this day and finds relief in its arrival.’ ‘What took you so long?’

This is one of those stories where if someone had only spoken up and placed their trust in the person they loved it would have saved a whole pile of wasted years. However that did not happen and if it had we would not have this story :) This was the perfect second chance love story that was a great weekend read for me.

‘It’s time I take my life back and start living again.’

Finding Solace hooked me from the start and I absolutely could not put it down. There was so much to love about this book...it's sweet, sexy, suspenseful, emotional and beautiful. The characters, the setting, the plot....S.L. Scott absolutely nailed it with this story. It left me feeling hopeful and satisfied yet wanting more from this gorgeous story.

Once again S.L. Scott has managed to create a beautiful love story with a swoon worthy hero and fierce heroine. I fell hard for Jason and Delilah as their story played out. These two characters were written so beautifully. However, their romance isn't all sunshine and roses...there are many bumps along the way on their path to happiness. There are secrets and danger that culminate in scenes that caused my heart to race as I devoured the pages to see what would happen.

I so loved Finding Solace. It was romantic, full of hope and downright sweet and heartfelt. I was captivated by the story and the characters. Jason and Delilah have so much history, chemistry and love for each other. I felt it with every word. This was a beautiful second chance at love story and a must read.

S.L. Scott has written a small-town second-chance romance to make everyone swoon. I was no exception--the Prologue drew me in for a weekend of sighing and renewing my faith in the wonder of all that love can be. I wasn't sure what to expect with Solace as this is kind of a spin-off of The Kingood Duet, which was an amazing but darker read. I was very pleasantly surprised to see what the author had in store for Jason.

Jason Koster is the smoothest talker ever to walk the fictional book world earth and the love of his life, Delilah can't help but fall hook, line, and sinker.

“Nothing heals a broken soul like the love of a true heart.”

Jason and Delilah were high school sweethearts, torn apart by miscommunication, misguided loyalty, and devious lies. Through the years, they've lived their own lives but neither stopped thinking of the other and wondering what could have been.

One day, all roads lead to home and Jason finds himself back where he belongs hoping for a chance to win back his girl, when he is hit with the words -- "What took you so long?"

From there S.L. takes us back to our youth remembering all the carefree things we did as teenagers in love. Most of us weren't lucky enough to find a man like Jason though who could make us melt with just a few little words

“No, Delilah. I love you. Present tense. Hearts and flowers. Kisses over morning coffee and poetry down by the lake in the afternoon love.”

Even though Jason and Delilah have some added baggage and burdens this time around, they overcome the obstacles together while getting reacquainted with each other, in all ways. Prepare yourself for the most intimate, swoon-worthy love scenes that are sure to make you gasp. These two are not shy and learn what fun making up for lost time can really be.

“My heart was always with you. The beat was just silent until I returned.”

Solace has it all! The mysterious Jason Koster who stole our hearts in "Savage" bares all. He becomes an open book, ready to accept his destiny and put aside his thoughts of being unworthy, ready to own the nickname "Cuddle Bear". Through the outpouring of love between this couple, we still have humor and suspense, keeping us glued to the pages until the very last sigh!

“How’d I get so lucky to be your husband and Faith’s father?” Reaching for my hand, I kneel next to her chair and take it. “It was never about luck, babe. It was destiny.”

I absolutely loved this story and it was refreshing to just sit back and fall in love with a couple and cheer them on to the finish line. Jason Koster is the absolute king of redos,

“Life may have taken us in different directions. We may have taken a few detours knocking us off course, but it carried me right back to you. This is the redo you wanted. This is our chance to put things back the way they were always supposed to be...
there's more, way more to this quote, which you'll have to discover on your own when you read this book.

I totally recommend this read to lighten your heart from all the burdens that life brings to you and hopefully recharge your batteries bringing love back into your own life.

Review by Jen Skewes

Jason and Delilah starter dating in high school. They had plans for the future, at least Jason thought that they did. But due to a major miscommunication and a manipulative so called friend, their relationship fell apart. Leaving Jason leaving town with a broken heart and Delilah marrying his best friend. It is four years since he left town/. It is time for him to go home and check in on his mother and face the love of his life. Despite the two of them living separate lives, his heart has always belonged to her. When he finds out that she is divorced and that the rumors are true, he hopes that maybe they will get their second chance. Will Delilah be willing to give him that second chance.

Jason and Delilah still love each other. But when she broke his heart years ago, he wasn’t sure if he ever wanted to see her again. Delilah remembers things to be different that Jason does. But soon realizes that maybe her version of what happened has been a little skewed. She sees now the lies that she was fed and is afraid that Jason may not be able to forgive her. But Jason has his own secrets, that have everything to do with where he has been and what he has been doing during their years apart. Will she look at hm differently when she finds out his secret?

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Jason and honestly fell hard for him and Delilah together. I love a second chance romance, and when that original break up is all because of miscommunication, it makes the story that much more frustrating. Which I love. This is a sweet, heartfelt, love story with just the right amount of drama. A swoon worthy hero and a strong and fierce heroine. Jason and Delilah has so much chemistry, a love that despite the time apart is still very strong, and an amazing bond. This is a beautiful second chance love story!!

God I love a second chance romance. And this was a brilliant one. I was rooting for this couple from the off. This book is full of dark moments and circumstances. Ones that are horrible but some of the circumstances are just. Especially if you have read the other books in the Kingwood series.

As soon as Jason rode into town. I wanted them to win. He and Delilah were fated and even though things and people in their lives were not loyal and wanted things selfishly. And because of this, they become victims in someone else's game. This is a story of righting the wrongs and proving that love will always win out, if it's ment to be.

This book is a beautiful second chance romance one that should never of had to have needed a second time around. But I feel they needed to be separated to become the people that they are now. Especially Jason.

This was a great read and a total recommend from me. As are all the books connected in this series are.

I always dive into any new release from Ms Scott, knowing that it is going to be an exceptional read and Finding Solace did not disappoint.

It's a heartbreaking second chance small town romance featuring best friends in high school Jason, Delilah and Cole. Jason is the good guy who leaves town to go to college to further his football career but after that is sidelined he becomes embroiled in the criminal world. Although details are not revealed in this book, his story is available in the Kingwood series but as this story is a standalone you don't have to read that series first.

The girl he has always loved is Delilah the town beauty queen who is already dealing with losing her soulmate to his college football career. Resentful of his friend's happiness and wanting the girl for himself, Cole fills Delilah's ears with spiteful and deceitful words and Delilah believing that Jason has been unfaithful to her breaks it off with him and becomes Cole's girl.

When Jason returns to town he is happy to hear that his love is no longer married, but when he meets Delilah again she is a shadow of the girl he knew with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Although this is a beautiful story of love reawakened it has dark moments, secrets are revealed and threats to their happiness are out there. The happiness and closeness that these two find together is inspiring. The love scenes are super romantic, steamy and sexy and the fun banter between them and other characters surrounding them is enjoyable.

Another excellent read from Ms Scott not to be missed. Five well deserved stars as always.

A story of second chances and first loves.
Jason and Delilah were high school sweethearts, madly in love and destined to be together. But then one small misunderstanding and a jealous best friend caused one of them to leave town heartbroken and looking for an escape and the other to be stuck in their own private hell with the fear of no escape.
When Jason finally finds his way back home he can’t resist the pull of Delilah. Despite the pain and heartbreak he endured he has to seek the answers as to why she left him, but what he finds is nothing like he expected.
Can they start a new journey, a second chance with hope, adventure and happiness, together, just like they were destined to have ?
Ms Scott writes great intimacy between her couples and I don’t just mean between the sheets, although that is steamy!! I mean the closeness and banter, the fun, private moments shared with the person you love and trust the most. I really enjoyed the characters in this story... yes it does get a bit mushy in places but it was well balanced with humour and a bit of drama to make your pulse race!
A great read!.

Finding Solace is a sweet second-chance, soulmates forever kind of romance. It was a little slow going, but once the story picked up, I liked the reunion between these two broken souls.

The details surrounding Delilah and Jason's breakup in college could have been fleshed out more, I think. And it bugged me that she just listened to the BS Jason's "best friend" was feeding her without speaking with Jason himself. But now it's years after their split, Jason is back in town after working in elite security and he's pulled toward Deliah. Is he back home to take a breather or get back his true love?

Delilah's survived an abusive marriage, but it left her horribly scarred on the inside. Jason is pretty scarred from the things that he has seen and done as a mercenary. But the love and connection is as strong as ever between them, and they love each other fiercely and help one another heal.

While I liked the story between Jason and Delilah, it didn't pack the same punch for me that We Were Once did. I still have a book hangover from that one more than a month later. But Finding Solace is a sweet story of redemption and reconnection. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

These 2 have a lot of wasted time to make up for. And boy, they do!!! I need a fan... But that said, it is well deserved. Jason and Delilah were cheated and manipulated out of a simple but beautiful life together. Filled with love. Instead, they encountered a lot of hurt, and the ugly sides of human beings. But they are strong and full of hope. Delilah is such a hard worker and resilient. Still a sweetheart even when fear dominates a good chunk of her life.  But no worries, Jason is the protector any woman wod want. He is the poetic gentleman, the hard working cowboy, the loving old flame. He is sharp, safe and responsible. Completely swoon worthy. That's what makes this book so good. Because it gives us a bit of everything. Some action, some scares, but it never forgets to show the unconditional love that Jason feels for Delilah. What better way to show a second chance?

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Finding Solace by S.L. Scott is a book of second chances and new beginnings.

Just when Jason Koster thinks he won't be accepted at home again, Delilah Rae Noelle proves him wrong. Little does he know they've both been broken.

This book has intense triggering moments but they are integral to the plot. This book explores not just the romantic love between Jason and Delilah but also how they have to rebuild other relationships.

I feel like there's another book coming after this for Shelby Noelle. And I am here for it!!

As always with SL Scott, another story filled with her beautiful words, of Raw pure emotion and a second chance story you won’t forget.

I loved the angst of it, the passion between Delilah and Jason is unforgettable, their love is deeply burried in their souls and it’s only right they overcome their mis believing past to have the future they deserve.

I did think their re-union/getting back together was very quick. I would have liked a little more of a build up in the story.

This was a captivating second chance romance. High school sweethearts turned strangers turned.... well, that might be where things get tricky.
This wasn’t just a romance though, because in the midst of the swoon, this couple had to learn about trust, repairing relationships in their lives, and ultimately how to move forward.
I loved this couple & hope there’s something else coming in the future.

This book is ok. But the ending is neverending. I would have ended it at 80 %.
Jason is an amazing man. I don't know if I could get past what Delilah did to him. It was outrageous. Anyway, the story is interesting, but plot twists are a bit predictable.

Finding Solace is a warm hearted small town romance with bits of danger edging it. S.L. Scott has written us some endearing and lovable characters. My favorite part is that she’s perfectly captured that small town southern female charm that is driven by a spine a steel. The ladies in this S.L. Scott novel aren’t pretty posies, they are steel magnolias. Every steel magnolia deserves a strong charactered male who realizes, recognizes and respects the strength in his partner. Ms. Scott has awarded us those good ol boys as well.

Jason and Delilah were childhood and high school sweethearts. They had found their balance and their places in each other’s lives. Then they had a fight. Which may or may not have blown over, except Jason’s best friend Cole stepped in to help.

Cole continued helping right up to the point where Jason is in college out of state and Delilah is marrying Cole. At loose ends and not sure what direction to take in his life, Jason starts out as an Alaskan fisherman and winds up in personal security. After one of his jobs ends in a way that unsettles Jason’s soul, he leaves and winds up back home.

What Jason intended to be a short visit or stop over to see his mom, turns into something longer. Turns out, Solace Point soothes Jason’s soul. Also, it appears that Cole had a physically abusive side which lead to Delilah divorcing him.

Ms. Scott’s story unravels Jason’s troubled heart as he works through trying to work through all that went wrong with Delilah years before.

Delilah is barely hanging on to her family farm as her sister works in New York in order to pay off the almost insurmountable pile of debt their dad left them. Cole turned out to be a dark soul playing at being Prince Charming. And Jason, Jason was always who he said he was.

Delilah struggles to work through all the lies that Cole fed her over the years regarding Jason. She also works on seeing and accepting the man that he’s become. Jason has dark places that Delilah isn’t sure of, but she recognizes that she’s never felt more settled or herself than when she’s with him.

Ms. Scott gives these two some hurdles to cross and grow over. A stalker abusive ex who won’t abide by a divorce or restraining orders. Small town gossip. Jason’s prior employer tracking him down to make sure Jason is really fully out of the private sector security. All of these items shine light into the character’s dark spots and show us their true selves.

Delilah and Jason are supported with a strong cast of side characters ranging from Jason’s mom who raised him alone after his dad died, Billy the third person in the high school boys friendship, Delilah’s sister Shelby.

This story will take you on a long winding path to a happy, comfortable, warm Southern end. Jason and Delilah are perfect for each other.

A bad boy looking to redeem himself, and the sweet country girl he left behind, now those are some fine ingredients for a second chance romance. Jason Koster and Delilah Noelle were a dream couple in high school and college, but a series of events drove them apart. Over the following years they both accumulated a lot of baggage.

Tired of his life on the road and his recent experiences with crime and violence, Jason returns to his hometown. While helping out his mother and reconnecting with is friend Billy, he cannot help but be drawn to Delilah, his former sweetheart. Initially he wants to find closure in order to be able to move on, but as he gets to know her again, he becomes all the more determined to give their love story another chance. However, both of them struggle with dealing with things that happened during their time apart, and how they may affect their future together.

I liked reading about their rekindled love, and how – despite some obstacles – their dedication to each other is never an issue. They’re committed, and work hard to overcome what is thrown their way together. They’re more mature, their experiences having added to their lives and characters, and the author does this justice.

Delilah is hurt – badly – and this affects both her self-esteem as well as their relationship, either past or present/future. I liked how she learns to trust her instincts and feelings around Jason again, and how she realizes their break-up had nothing to do with their love. She was just blinded to it back then. I felt for her, how heartbroken she must have felt, and how that made it easy to be preyed upon.

There are plenty of swoon-worthy scenes, with Jason sweeping Delilah off her feet and being a kind gentleman, as well as a few well-placed and lust-filled ones. However, there is also some action, as is to be expected with Jason’s past and Delilah’s volatile ex.

The story comes together nicely, and readers will be quite satisfied with how everything is resolved in the end.

For me, the first third of the book was most engaging. Here we learned the backstory of how both Delilah and Jason were upset that the other broke up with them. We see Jason come back to town and Delilah wants no part of him. I'll note an oddity with the prologue. It's a scene that is in an early chapter which is different. Although they're told by the same person, they come across a little different. Not sure I understand why that happen.

While the first third was definitely 4 star worthy, it dipped for me through the entire middle third. It started going off the rails when Delilah agrees to dinner with Jason. In her pre-date discussion with her sister, she says she absolutely will not sleep with Jason. Then she has sex for him and tells him she drove to a nearby town earlier in the day to buy condoms. All the angst that was built up was lost in that moment. Then you're left with wondering how to feel about Delilah when you learn what really broke them up. We also never really understand Jason's job to know if he is at risk of being arrested someday. Based on what Delilah knows, should she really look the other way?

The last third had some action scenes to add external drama/fear. That added some engagement but it never really returned to level of the strong start.

I think both main characters are a little hard to get behind based on what we've been told. At face value, Jason seems great but what about that job? Unless we know he killed in self defense, I don't think we should be swooning or thinking this is a great catch. I worry that Delilah has issues because she let herself get duped and then stuck with an abuser. I'm not sure she's past that but we're pretending that a good love can serve as therapy.

If you like the author's books, I think you'll enjoy it. How much will depend on whether you care about some of these odd choices the characters have made. I'd guess this book was rushed or pieced together because it lacked some of what I've seen in her other works.

Jason Koster and Delilah Noelle have their entire future together right in front of them. He was the star quarterback of the football team and she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. Nothing could split them up, but no one expected Jason's best friend to betray them both. Cole Cutler had been Jason's best friend since they were five. In high school, Cole seemed to accept the town's adulation of Jason's athletic abilities when, in fact, he was seething that his talents weren't admired. After convincingly telling Delilah lies about, among other things, Jason spending time with other women and that he wasn't good enough for her, Cole turned that heartbreak into an opportunity to replace Jason and take what should be his. Delilah's insecurities and immaturity allowed Cole to convince her that Jason would never love her again and that Cole would be the best man for her in the long run. After being married for a short while, Delilah discovered just what a horrible mistake she had made. Physically and emotionally abusive, Cole became a man with a dark side that nobody knew existed. She dealt with the pain and bruises until enough was enough. With a divorce decree and  order of protection in hand, she thought she was safe, but she didn't know the extent of her ex's  anger. After years of travelling the world and working odd jobs, it's time for Jason to come home to face his family and the woman he left behind. But small towns gossip and he's not quite the golden boy he was before leaving town. He has to prove himself to be a better man and he will do everything it takes to let Delilah know that he's still hers and she's still his. I really like the story and its believable and vividly drawn characters. Ms. Scott weaves her stories with style and eloquence that bring a book to life!

Wow, just WOW! Finding Solace hooked me from the start and I absolutely could not put it down. There was so much to love about this book--it's funny, sweet, sexy, suspenseful, emotional and beautiful. The characters, the setting, the plot....S.L. Scott absolutely nailed it with this story! It left me feeling hopeful and satisfied yet wanting more of this gorgeous story!

I fell hard for Jason and Delilah as their story played out. These two characters were written so beautifully. Scott has definitely upped the ante when it comes to swoon-worthy men. Jason will make you fall in love over and over again right along with Delilah! This bad boy has a side to him that is completely unexpected and beautiful. Every time he opened his mouth I found myself under his spell! Then there's Delilah who is a total spitfire despite her difficult past! She's sweet and funny and I loved watching her blossom and gain confidence as time went on. When these two get together, the heat factor is off the charts! They are so H-O-T together!!! Jason and Delilah's romance isn't all sunshine and roses---there are many bumps and bruises along the way on their path to happiness. There are secrets and danger that culminate in scenes that caused my heart to race as I devoured the pages to see what would happen.

Scott is a wonderful storyteller, painting a stunning picture of strength, love, hope, faith and redemption. Solace takes readers on an emotional roller coaster that will leave you feeling renewed and full of contentment. There is so much to love about this story that I can't rave about it enough! Please, please read this book----you will be so happy that you did!!!

"Nothing heals a broken soul like the love of a true heart"

Okay - this book was EXCELLENT!

I didn't even realize this was the 4th book in the Kingwood series until I recognized a name mid-way through the book. Then I had to go back to the Kingwood box set and search for names until I discovered what I mentioned in the first sentence.

To tell the truth, the first book - SAVAGE - was a DNF for me. It was just too dark, and I hate not finishing books by favorite authors but... Now I'm thinking I'll just read the series backwards. That might actually work out for me.

Jason and Delilah were high school sweethearts. She wasn't interested in Jason's best friend, even if Cole "saw her first" - but that set the stage for the drama that played out throughout this book. Cole saw Delilah as a prize, as well as something to hold over his best friend. Jason was betrayed and spent 4 years not knowing the truth of what was playing out at home.

4 years later, Jason comes back home to Solace Pointe. He's feeling burned out in his soul after years of doing the dirty work involved in keeping innocent people safe.

Delilah is divorced from her abusive husband, trying to hold onto the family farm. Although she still harbors some justifiable fears over what her ex might do, she's not afraid, because she's strong in her heart.

It doesn't take long for Jason & Delilah to rediscover the love they'd always had for one another, and the truth about the lies that had kept them apart.

I know this book was originally part of the series, but it really does stand on its own quite well, and I give Finding Solace a high recommendation, even if you haven't read the rest of the Kingwood books.

Loved Jason and Delilah's story. This 2nd chance was beautifully written and heartfelt. Will take you on a journey like no other!

God, I love a second chance romance.

This is a story of righting the wrongs and proving that love will always win out if it's meant to be.

This book is a beautiful second chance romance one that should never have had to have needed a second time around. But I feel they needed to be separated to become the people that they are now. Especially Jason.

This was a great read and a total recommendation from me. As are all the books connected in this series are.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Delilah Noelle and Jason Koster. Years ago there was a misunderstanding that led to Delilah breaking up with Jason and finding comfort in one of what he thought was his best friends. She even married him when Jason heard he was hitting her the only thing he wanted to do was come back and rescue the only woman to hold his heart. He knew that he couldn't so he stayed away. Now he is back to just find a little peace after everything he has gone through. That is when he learns the woman of his heart is no longer married but is she ready for him again. Delilah knows you can't just live in a small town without running into your ex when you least want to. When she learns Jason is in town she wants nothing more than to keep him at arms length until he drives off on his motorcycle into the sunset again. Not only does she want to run from her feelings that she still holds for this man. Her ex husband lives in town still too and he is mean and she isn't looking for more trouble from him. Can these two find their HEA or will the past make the present something impossible.

This is another amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. Boy is there so much I want to tell you. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you locking the door, sending the kids away and ordering dinner in so you don't have to put this book down. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Synopsis: Delilah is the sweet country girl in Solace Point and Jason is her ex-boyfriend. They were everything to each other in high school and then when college rolled around, everything fell apart. Jason went off to study and play football, which then turned into him taking on an incredible dangerous job. Delilah stayed in their hometown and married a man who didn’t treat her right. And now, after all this time, Jason is back and all he wants is Delilah in his life again.

Review: I’m a new S.L Scott reader, this is my second book by her, and I gotta say, I’m officially a fan. The way she writes her characters and the stories, the angst and love and passion she weaves into her storytelling, the worlds that she creates - it’s all my kind of magic. And “Finding Solace” was no different. It was such a beautiful book, filled with tragedy, secrets, passion, resentment, anger and most of all love.

This second chance romance follows Delilah and Jason as they uncover the secrets and lies that led to the end of their relationship. The secrets and lies that completely changed the course of their lives and how they overcome them step by step.

“We only get blue skies when we’re together.”

This book is so beautiful, guys. The storytelling and the characters are magnificent and so much so that I am in awe of this book. I almost didn’t want it to end and when it was over, I wanted to start it up again. Yes, the love and the romance and the scenes between Delilah and Jason are so hot, it set my Kindle on fire, but it was about so much more.

Finding Solace is a spinoff from the Savage and Savior series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the two books I mentioned because it is a standalone. Honestly though, you should do yourself a favor and read them. In this story we get to see how human nature and premature thoughts and ideas can be misconstrued and send you off course. Although Solace is the name of the town Finding Solace is like a metaphor and so much more in this book. Because aren’t we all looking for that in life at one time or another.

Although it portrays a more simplistic and rural life ( Funny I never visualized Jason this way. Happy to report I am not disappointed). Finding Solace still brings the angst, smiles, intrigue and heat! It also reveals Jason’s humanity. If you read the other books you were mesmerized by Jason. Now we get to know the real him.
Delliah is also a force to be reckoned with. Seeing her grow, mature and become empowered was a joy to watch.
The undeniable chemistry and eternal love these two have for one another is palpable in this book. You can literally feel it while you’re reading.
SL Scott gave us a treat by letting us visit with someone we previously met as well introduce us to some new characters.
Big city or small town no matter where you’re from there are problems and joys. It’s called Life!
As someone famous once said.”There's no place like home”, but that doesn’t mean it’s all good. Jason decided to take the risk. He took some side trips and wrong turns to get there but in the end the journey was wort

4.5 stars. A dazzling second-chance love story that has all the heart feels. Heartbreaking, heart wrenching, heart melting, heart throbbing and heartfelt. Right from the start the emotions are high and there's a heaviness and weight to the story. The weight of the past and the betrayals and the broken pieces of their hearts and dreams of the future. Jason and Delilah's story is tragic and heartbreaking. But their second chance is right there for the taking if they can forgive each other and withstand the past that won't go away. These two are swoon-worthy wonders with her light to his dark and a love that withstands the years and the lies of a best friend. There were a few things that didn't add up for me. Jason's experiences and skill level seemed a little off for just a four-year stretch, especially with the travel thrown in. Also, departure from his football path was based on an injury that didn't seem career ending. But those didn't affect the beautiful romance of the story and sizzling hotness between the lovers. Ms. Scott gave us a delicious couple with some of the yumminess sexy times every! So hot and panty melting! The story went on a little long for me but the ending was fabulous with the bit of danger and suspense. This is a spectacular page turner with wonderful characters in Delilah, Jason, and their families and friends. I hope we get a story about Delilah's sister, Shelby and friend Billy. I love this author's fabulous storytelling, spectacular characters and sexy romances. This is a must read! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Jason is returning home to Solace Pointe to rest, recharge, and choose the next direction for his life. What he didn't expect was to discover that Delilah, his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, is single and still has feelings for him.

Delilah is surprised to find Jason back in Solace Pointe. She never stopped loving him, but she's afraid of getting her heart broken again.

This sort of story would typically annoy me. The perfect couple is broken up by misinformation or a misunderstanding. But the background runs a little deeper and is much more "real" than you'd typically see in some other books. Jason and Delilah's story was a tragedy, and their opportunity for a do-over was worth every second.

Jason is beyond loveable. If it weren't for Alexander in Savage and Savior, I'd have wished for Jason to get Sara Jane's heart. However, Alexander was it for her, leaving Jason alone, with no one. That made his homecoming all the more important.

The events of the story, the background, and roadblocks have you rooting for the couple from the beginning. Delilah is sweet and damaged, and Jason is the perfect man to bring her that sense of safety and hope she so badly needed.

This book was the perfect second chance and gave me all the warm and fuzzies. I would absolutely recommend it - and what's also nice, is you don't have to have read any of the other Kingwood books to fully appreciate it (though the knowledge from previous books added another layer of depth to Jason's personality).

Finding Solace is an updated version of the book Solace (originally published in 2017 as part of the Kingwood series). The new Finding Solace includes additional content and fresh edits.
After finishing this version, I went back to read my original review of Solace. I discovered that I had given that book 3.5 stars centered around two specific issues. What I considered the bigger of the two issues has been resolved in this edit and I can gladly give it a full 4 stars.

Finding Solace is a story centered around finding the right person, but for whatever reason it's the wrong time. Jason and Delilah are former small town sweethearts who had life intervene and four years later discover that there is an opportunity for redemption and a second chance.

Both Jason and Delilah are likable and interesting characters. They both come to this potential second chance with a lot of baggage that they have to work through, including the hows and why that their first relationship ended. This was one of my initial concerns with the first edition of Solace, but here I understand Delilah a little bit better and can see how insecurities, manipulation, and stubbornness conspired to lead them down the path they took.

This is a swoony and romantic reunion with a side of intrigue. The small secondary cast adds to the entertainment value. I am hoping to see a future story for Shelby (Delilah's sister).

I’m a HUGE fan of SL Scott… her books are always so full of passion and heart. I REALLY enjoyed Solace! I loved Jason in the Kindwood duet. We don’t get to know much about Jason but he’s a secondary character that you want to get to know, he was important but not the focus. Now we get to focus on him. I thought Delilah was the sweetest small town girl! Second chance love stories are one of my favorite genres. These two definitely deserved a happily ever after!

Jason and Delilah took right up right where they left off as if no time has passed for them. They loved each other so purely, so darn sweetly that I wanted everything perfect for them!! They just fit and really went together like ying and yang. A puzzle that just melded. This book was tense with some angst. But, oh… SL Scott can pull out some beautiful love! I should mention, I read the original a couple years ago and I love this updated version with the additions.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Finding Solace was an absolutely beautiful second chance love story that will give you all the feels whilst reading, then leave you with a super satisfying ending. This book was sweet, steamy, intriguing, suspenseful, heartfelt, and emotional.

The two main characters, Jason Koster and Delilah Noelle, will completely steal your heart. 💞 High school sweethearts, they were madly in love and destined to be together forever until a misunderstanding, and the jealousy of a friend, tore them apart. Both with broken hearts, he left town and she attempted to move on from their epic love.

Now he’s the swoony bad boy who rides back into town on his custom bike, and she is the fierce-yet-sweet good girl who has been through hell and back, and now wants to live a peaceful life on her family’s farm.

The history between these two is intense, you can literally feel how deeply they loved each other, both then and now. Their chemistry is off.the.freaking.charts however this wouldn’t be an S.L. Scott masterpiece if it were all smooth sailing! The missed chances and pain of the past, coupled with secrets, suspense and danger of the present will leave your heart both aching and racing as you fly through the pages to see how this amazing story will unfold.

I was luckily enough to receive an ARC of Finding Solace and rate it 4.5/5 stars!
